Our first visit and would definitely go again. It was a busy Sunday lunch service but despite this food was served fresh and hot. Slight delay in getting food to everyone in our party (there was 9 of us) but considering the group size and time of day the delay wasn't a big issue. Nice relaxed atmosphere with no feeling of being rushed etc. Would recommend.

A bit disappointing, after the social media hype for this place & certainly not great value for the standard of food received. For example, Duck should be served with a crispy outer skin & the meat still pink & this most definitely wasn’t anywhere near.

We were looked after by a lovely guy called Kieran who had a cute smile. There were other staff on duty who were also lovely. Nice decor, friendly staff but food was overpriced and rubbish. £16 for a flat burger and burnt bun with a sad and pointless salad of two lettuce leaves and the grim centre of an under ripe tomato. Batter on the fish was soggy and underdone. £8.50 for a kid's meal easily one of the most expensive I've seen. Guys, you can't price your menu like this and bring out food like that!

Went on bank holiday Monday and thought it would be fairly busy, it was not. There was hardly anyone in the pub but that didn't mean that the service was any quicker! We seemed to have been forgotten about and the service was extremely slow. Had the £1 an ounce steak and the food was alright. Asked if we could have some more sauce for the steak and was categorically told no as the kitchen was closing (very poor customer service if you ask me!). After we asked for this, one of the members of staff then took a pint of beer into the kitchen for the chef (so he was still there). Food wasn't too disappointing but customer service and price has really let the place down. I won't be returning.

Four of us had the ounce/steak menu. Three very good, one only spoiled by the line of inedible gristle. Mentioned to the waitress, who, after consultation with the chef, removed it from the bill. Only downsides were the long and unnecessary wait for a second beer and £2.50 for a glass of lime cordial and water! PS. Please check your spelings and punctuation (sauces, not saucers and wrongly used or placed apostrophes). The only thing that was unprofessional.

We had such high hopes with new owners, a refit and an apparent emphasis on fresh food. But it’s just not done very well here. We’ve had two disappointing meals, including the Sunday roast, both expensive and both just not up to scratch. The roast was so salty, roast potatoes were tough and veg had clearly been waiting around a while. At £20 it needs to be better, especially with another pub close by charging similar and offering far better food. The menu is ambitious but sadly the delivery isn’t up to it.

Since the new ownership this place has done from 4 stars to 1 star. If I could give it less I would. AWFUL food, pizza looked like an Aldi cheap pizza. Mash was like pure water, gravy was also like pure water, veg hard and undercooked & pea’s were the most rancid either frozen or tinned peas I’ve ever tasted. When asked to thicken the gravy was told they couldn’t as it was home made gravy… home made yet they didn’t have anything to make gravy with… The menu is very expensive for what it is, the refurb makes the place look like a care home & they definitely need a new chef after that shambles of a meal. Won’t be returning again, won’t be recommending to anyone. All I would say is avoid this place. What once was a nice pub with good reasonably priced food is now probably the worse place in Worcester. Such a shame.

Popped in 'early doors' for a bite to eat. Had the seafood sharing platter, which we enjoyed, bread was a little dry, but didn't detract from the seafood. The king prawns were huge! After we had finished our meal, I did ask if we could have lemon wipes to clean our hands, those were apparently not available, but the waitress very kindly bought us a bowl of water each with a lemon wedge in it plus serviettes. As I said, it was early and there were very few people, so it did lack a little atmosphere. Will certainly be back, bit maybe try a little later, as do like to have somewhere with atmosphere. Having seen the pub/restaurant had a 3.8 rating I wondered what was in store. Once we’d finished an absolutely first class meal I wondered why The Swan didn’t have a 5 Star rating? It appears that The Swan is now under new ownership and the not so positive ratings related to the previous regime. The team of Matt, Delilah and Alice ensured we had a superb meal on a Monday night - Steak Night. I’m not one given to exaggeration, but the ‘medium to well done’ rump steak was succulent and cooked to perfection. The other meal - that of the beef burger - was above and beyond expectations, with a combination of chorizo and spicy Nduja jam taking the culinary delights to a whole new level. We’d only given The Swan a try as it was en-route to home after a visit to the South West. It’ll be a different proposition in future as we’ll go out of our way to return - especially on Steak Nights of either Monday and Tuesday or, who knows, maybe even both. Thoroughly and highly recommended, the only downside being we don’t the place to be fully booked next time we want to dine!

Closed at 6.15pm on the sunniest hottest day of the year despite their Google listing stating it’s open until 10pm on a Sunday, main pub sign saying ‘open all day everyday’, and the chalk board outside we walked past saying serving food until 8.45pm. Worst thing is a manager said nothing as did his paperwork at the bar 4 feet way when clearly we were waiting to be served drinks - totally ignored us and left a waitress to come over to announce they were shut despite the advertised hours. Thought we’d walk to this local to give local business support….they are doomed if they can’t get the basics right.

Visited The Swan for the first time in about 3 years and the first visit since it changed ownership. The decor inside the pub is really lovely as well as the beer garden. A good play area for the kids, which our 2 year old thoroughly enjoyed. The food was good quality and we left feeling really full. I was delightfully surprised to see cakes on sale as soon as we walked in, so we were already planning for dessert! The only drawback to the experience, and what stopped the 5 stars, was the amount of litter in the car park, e.g bottles dumped on the verges. Otherwise, a highly recommended place!

Went for breakfast and the sausages were not cooked properly. They were cooked one side and pink the other side. Apart from that the breakfast was ok. However, where we sat in the middle of the restaurant, the table we had rocked every time you leant on it due to uneven floor. All the tables where we were all had napkins and beer mats under them and had to do the same with our table. Not exactly professional. It was also cold with a chill in the air with a draft to the point we had to put our coats back on. We were asked at the end what we thought of the place and told them the above.

After the recent makeover, The Swan Pub in Martin Hussingtree now boasts an inviting decor with modern tables and furnishings. This fresh appearance, however, contrasts starkly with our service experience, which was disappointingly subpar. We visited on a seemingly quiet Sunday, post-rush hour, to find the ambiance calm and staff visibly available around the bar. Despite this, our arrival went unacknowledged in what appeared to be a waiting area, leaving us to approach the bar ourselves for seating and service. Initially, our drinks were served promptly, setting a promising tone that, regrettably, did not extend to our meal service. It took over 50 minutes for our two dishes to arrive. During our wait, we were informed of a shortage of roast potatoes—20 minutes into our already prolonged wait—with mash or new potatoes offered as alternatives. Even then, our meals took an additional half hour to be served. Given the premium price of £21 per Sunday meal, the quality, though slightly above average, did not meet our expectations, particularly given the limited Sunday menu which implied pre-preparation. The apparent lack of initiative from the staff to offer any form of compensation for the delays, such as complimentary soft drinks, further compounded our dissatisfaction considering our drinks were empty when they informed us of the lack of potatoes. Our experience was further marred by observing other diners who arrived after us receive their meals sooner. This inconsistency in service made us feel overlooked. The conclusion of our visit saw us seeking out staff at the bar to pay, due to a lack of attentive service at our table. In summary, while the food at The Swan can be described as pleasantly decent, its value is diminished by its price and the significant letdown of the service. An expected wait time of 50 minutes not only detracts from the dining experience but leaves a lingering disappointment. Despite the potential for a memorable meal, the service failures are too significant to overlook, resulting in a 2-star rating. This establishment demonstrates that even with quality ingredients, the overall experience can be soured by inadequate service and attention to detail. Despite this experience, we were open to giving The Swan another chance, hoping our visit was an exception rather than the norm. However, it’s worth noting that we had been forewarned by friends about the potential for slow service, particularly regarding wait times for food. This preexisting knowledge tempers our optimism with a measure of caution.

A very disappointing experience. I had high hopes for ‘the best’ seafood pie, which was bland, watery and flavourless when it arrived - with the supposed saffron mashed potato also tasting of nothing. My dad ordered the ox cheek pie, which was the smallest pie I’d ever seen with two tiny pieces of (very tough) meat, two tiny mushrooms, a bit of gravy, wrapped in suet the size of a small burger bun. It was clear the meat was not ox cheek and had not been braised for 18 hours, as stated on the menu. Considering both meals were around £19 each, it was not what we expected at all. The staff swapped our food for fish and chips which my brother had ordered, but this was greasy and average at best, again around £18. For three portions of fish and chips and 4 drinks - the bill came to £93, with no discount/apology offered, even after complaining. After enjoying several meals at the Anchor in Worcester, we had hoped it would be lovely here, but would definitely not recommend.

Don't bother! The fish pie was tasteless and the brocoli was barely warm. The chips were luke warm. The lovely girl who served our food said she would ask someone to come and take our drinks order. Very disappointed after having a great experience at the anchor. Service was poor, we asked for more drinks when our food was delivered and were told someone would come and take an order, but they did not. No one came to ask if our meals were ok until long after we had finished. There were however numerous staff stood behind the bar doing very little and only about 6 tables full so little excuse for being ignored. Fish pie was bland, chips were cold with other meals. We would have spent more and had dessert and additional drinks if we had received anything near good service, instead we were in and out in an hour.

An all round average meal, newly taken over by an amazing restaurant in Worcester City. Only offered one drink, staff didn’t know what the meals were, plates for steak and burger lacked presentation. Steak however was cooked incredibly, portion size on the fish and chips was brilliant. Options for allergens were available however didn’t receive a menu for it, waitress said tell me what you want and I will ask if it can be gluten free. Has potential foot a little pricey for the presentation, just felt it could have offered more and service needs to be improved

Unfortunately left very disappointed! Was really excited to visit the Swan under its new management especially as we have always really enjoyed the Anchor but sadly we didn’t have a good experience at all. The service was poor, I know it’s newly opened but the waitresses lacked knowledge or enthusiasm barely cracked a smile. Service was slow and non attentive. After our first drinks order we didn’t have another as no one came back to check in or even to find out how our food was. Secondly the availability for gluten free was very poor. There was no separate menu but I was told most dishes could be made gluten free to find out when I ordered that I could only actually have a burger with a GF bun which I didn’t really want. To add to that when it came out I checked with the waitress if it was GF as she didn’t notify my and she was unsure. So I then had to get up to go and find the manager to get her to check before eating it. At which point after it having being returned to the kitchen for checks it was then cold. Finally the plates of food were very underwhelming. Poorly presented and lacking considering the price we were paying. Portions were pretty small and plates just filled with chips nothing else to appeal like seen it pictures and suggested on the menus. A real shame, as was looking forward to Droitwich having a nice pub with good food. Let’s hope it’s just some teething problems.

However the main reason this doesn’t get 5 stars is the cheeseboard - £12 was horrendously overpriced. Small amount of cheese that looked like a child had prepared it. That being said, everything else was good enough for me to want to go back.

I visited this pub a year or so ago and couldn’t drink the beer it was that bad. Having seen that the venue has been taken over by new management I (we) dared to venture in again with kids and in laws. What a transformation no longer dingy, now bright and a lovely welcoming feel. Staff and management were friendly, polite and professional. I didn’t have food on this occasion (kids had chips though which were fine) but the Guinness was excellent. Will definitely be back.

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome. The staff are all really friendly and efficient. Food was delicious and perfectly cooked and well presented. Throughout the evening the service was excellent. I will certainly be revisiting and recommending The Swan to friends and family.

Overall a positive visit, food was excellent as was the friendly service given by the staff. Everywhere was clean and tidy. There were 5 of us seated at the table, most of us had different meals but all arrived at the same time and the food was hot as it should be. I had the Steak and Ale pie I would recommend this meal to all, I would definitely have the same meal again and that goes for my choice of sweet too. A very enjoyable experience.

The place felt very festive and the Christmas feel was good. The food was good (although we ordered a curry and it didn’t come with the advertised naan bread that it said it would) and the prices were fair. However, the service left a lot to be desired. With it being Boxing Day, it is understandable that the staff don’t really want to be there. However, all of them were young, inexperienced and frankly didn’t seem to care about providing good friendly service. We were at the pub until about 6:30 PM and even by that point, we got the distinct impression that the staff were waiting for us to leave. None of the bar maids were friendly and the kitchen staff (including the chef) were sat playing on the fruit machines near the pub entrance by the end. The second we left, the lights went out in the car park, so I’m pretty sure that proves my point that the staff were waiting on us to go……. Overall not a bad experience, but considering it was Boxing Day and we paid £100 total, I’d expect the staff to be a bit more accommodating and professional. Can’t say I’d really recommend.

This is a cracking little pub and will certainly visit again when in droidwich. The food is excellent and the landlady has a great sense of humour

I don’t think I’ve ever tasted a Chinese so bad, they’re all bad in Droitwich but I hadn’t tried this one in years so thought I’d give it another chance. Literally the nastiest food ever, nothing had flavour apart from the prawn crackers. Egg fried rice was clumped together and tasted like mush and am the curry sauce was congealed and had a taste not like any other curry sauce I’ve ever tried. Chinese is our favourite takeaway but after tonight I think I’d rather cook. We ended up putting everything in the bin and having toast because that was the better option.

Visited 1/9 for lunch. Past few weeks have been inconsistent however today’s visit was superb! Front of house service from Aaron was faultless and the food created by Chef Luke was superb! Well done to Aaron and Luke for restoring our confidence in the Lygon! Please maintain this lever of consistency!
