An amazing day spent getting to understand and bake sourdough bread. Gary and Matt were amazing and shared their wealth of sourdough bread baking with generosity, knowledge and humour. A full practical day of making and baking sourdough loaves. Excellent coffee, tea etc throught the day and dellunch too. A supportive network to join following the course too. I can't recommend this enough if you want to fully understand how bake delicious sourdough yourself at home. 3 loaves to take home too.

This is an excellent little coffee shop. A fabulous Barista team, making delicious coffee on every occasion! The food is always great, and very tasty. The atmosphere is wonderfully friendly, and all the staff are happy, kind, and considerate. Nothing is a trouble. I visit once or sometimes twice a month, as I no longer live in Leek. Unfortunately! I really do recommend this lovely establishment.

My word! I don't often have fish and chips, maybe on a seaside holiday or nick a few chips off the kids, however, how I have never come to this takeaway before and in my opinion it blows 90% of the others out of the water. Friendly and accommodating staff, swift service and beautifully fresh, well cooked fish and for me, perfect chips. The cheeky little sausage in batter I added for a later snack was delicious too, batter still had a crunch not gone soggy. I will definitely be going again soon to try more delights, the smell of the curry sauce was almost intoxicating, what a gem on Fountain street, think the locals have been keeping this quiet! Bravo.

We were staying over in Leek on a Sunday evening, wanting to sample some Staffordshire oatcakes the following morning, but the oatcake shop we wanted was closed on Monday! Poor planning. But luckily this place was open at 7.30 am and we found what we wanted here: oatcakes with various fillings such as bacon or tomato; all with cheese. If you've not tried them, Staffordshire oatcakes are very different to the Scottish biscuit that most people associate with 'oatcakes'. Here, they are a soft, flexible wrapper like a pancake, or perhaps a chapatti, made from a thin layer of a yeasted oatmeal/wheat batter griddled until it sets, then wrapped around your chosen filling. We took a pair of oatcakes with cheese and bacon, and a full English of 2 eggs, 2-3 bacon, 2 sausages, 2 toast, beans and tomatoes, plus extra hash browns. This was all in a takeaway tray - there is no table service here. It took about 10 minutes, which is fair enough as everything is cooked to order; but we were the only customers at that time. I imagine at busy times there could be quite a wait. The food was excellent, piping hot as you'd expect with it being cooked to order; and good value too, under £10 for the 2 breakfasts described above, though coffees added a bit more. Highly recommended.

Currently visiting the top 20 restaurants in Staffordshire, and at number 5 is this one. The pub is a throwback to the old days. Lovely atmosphere and decor. The menu is good, although there was a few pub classics missing (steak pie for example) I opted for the braising beet in red wine sauce. It was really nice. The pudding (crumble) was again a throwback it was exactly how your mum made it for you back in the 80s. Not sure it was homemade but the whole place felt like it was served with love. Enjoyed the place, food was good. Value was amazing. 3 people, all had a drink, a main and a dessert and it all came to under £50 Great

Absolutely exceptional food, with careful use of a rainbow of very fresh ingredients that really sharpened the flavours. The most delicious Nan I think I’ve ever had. Friendly and efficient service, a great space with appropriate lights and decorations under the brick vaults of this lovely building. The owner introduced himself and was more than happy to answer our questions about the site and tell us about the history of the business which has a sister site in Beaconsfield which coincidentally we also knew. Such a lovely evening and highly recommended, with thanks to this hard working family and staff.

Went there with three another 3 friends. It was my turn to choose the venue and we were not disappointed. Food was good, the service was prompt even though the place was busy, which is always a good sign . We all had a three course meal which cost us £30 so I think that is more than decent. I would not hesitate to go back there and I thoroughly recommend you give this venue a go
