Discovered by chance when looking for a lunch venue. I really enjoyed the soup and cheese scone and my partner was very impressed with the quiche. The china crockery is really lovely. The staff are friendly and helpful.

As a local to Leek always keen to support local businesses. We don’t usually stop off for food in the town, often choosing to take our local purchases home. Today we however visited the Lion House. What a treat, beautiful home baked scones and tea served in china teacups. Friendly staff and comfortable surroundings. We will definitely stop by again.

We had great food with great service at this gem of a location in Leek. This was our first try of Staffordshire oatcakes and we loved them so much as well as the tea rooms that we returned for some more. The staff were really friendly and helpful and helped with serving our large party of a mix of ages wonderfully.

Visited recently looking for an afternoon cup of tea and cake before going to our hotel. This is a lovely tea room with friendly and helpful staff. We opted for tea and scones with clotted cream which were delicious. Loved the quirky china the food and drink were served in. This place is well worth a visit and a lovely way to start our weekend break.

I ordered my girlfriend an afternoon tea from here. The food was delivered exactly when I requested it, in a large box with instructions for warming through some of the food.We loved every single food item. By the end we were really full with a little bit of cake left over for later. We will be going here again and definitely be ordering the afternoon tea.

Cute, quirky place with yummy, locally sourced food and friendly service - we came here for breakfast and lunch, and were so pleased we found them. We shamelessly call ourselves coffee snobs - and their coffee was def up to our standard. ;) Highly recommended! A little gem in the heart of Leek.

Excellent service, nice setting let down by average coffee that is plentiful but lacks depth and any true flavour. In fact, it tastes no different to a free coffee out of a machine at the office (sorry). I have to admit though the service is super friendly, clean and pleasant atmosphere. I wouldn’t come again for their coffee. Haven’t tried any of their food but cakes look good.

I visited with my daughter the food was of basic quality, I ordered the afternoon tea expecting something extravagant as it cost me £16.00 (I had a different coffee so the price was increased by £1).I find the afternoon tea was extortionate pricing for what it is "1 small sandwich, a tiny sliver of cake and quiche, 1 drink and a scone"I have to say the scones are delicious, but there is a lot of competition out there with better quality afternoon tea at the fraction of the price of yours.

Dropped in for a quick lunch and was surprised and delighted at the food quality and service. The ham in the ham and cheese toasty was hand carved rather than the usual wet packet ham experienced in other places. Wife's bacon and mushroom quiche was nicely filled with good quality bacon that was properly cooked as were the mushrooms. Coffee and walnut cake was moist and a good serving of clotted cream provided with the scone. It's not the smartest of places but try it - I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

A crowd of us with a baby and a bedraggled Spaniel decanted into the Lion House Tea Room on a very wet day in Leek... A warm welcome from friendly and helpful staff, with lovely fresh food and cakes to go with the tea and coffee. I find that scones are usually dry and stale in tea rooms by mid-afternoon but I took a risk and these were just delicious. Others had salads and sandwiches, all of which was fresh, homemade and much appreciated. Worth a visit if you are wandering around Leek town centre.

I've been to Lion Heart a few times now and have yet to be disappointed. The staff are all polite and kind and the food is spot on and clearly homemade with a great deal of care. My personal favourite thing to have here is Afternoon Tea which is not only affordable (a rare thing in the world of Afternoon Tea) but absolutely delicious - their homemade quiches are to die for, and that from someone who doesn't even like quiche.

We arrived at this cafe early after a cold night camping, although it was 30 minutes before officially open we were welcome in. The food is excellent, the service very good and whole place is a nice place to relax. There were six of us and we all enjoyed the food including the vegetarian options for breakfast. We also bought some scones to take home and these were equally as good as the breakfast. The coffee was also good and they had a great range of teas. All in all very pleasant place, great friendly people running it and would not hesitate to go back or recommend.

I visited the Lion House Tearoom yesterday afternoon with my son and our dog. I had heard very good things about this tearoom, and after a long walk in the sun around Rudyard lake we decided to pop into Leek and visit the Lion House. I love the fact that I was able to bring my dog into the downstairs tearoom, this isn't allowed in many places now-a-days sadly. I had a latte, which was incredibly good quality. The coffee was sourced locally and was very good indeed!

Came back for a 2nd visit to make sure the first visit wasn't a fluke. It wasn't, in fact if anything it was better! The only thing more impressive than the glorious food was the efficient and genuinely friendly service! Cannot recommend this place enough and you MUST sample the freshly made cakes! My only complaint is that i don't live closer!! Well done and long may it thrive!!!

The four of us went for a hot cocoa, we had it but because it looks real good we also went for a afternoon tea. One person preferred some less sweet afternoon tea and that was no problem at all. We could have the afternoon tea the way we wanted it.

We popped into this lovely tea room for the first time this week. The furniture is very eclectic and it creates a nice atmosphere. It is counter service but they were quick and nothing was too much trouble. They offer free help yourself tap water which is chilled and tea is served in a real teapot. The food was reasonably priced and to a high standard. They offer a selection of local ice Cream and homemade cake and afternoon tea that looked amazing.

Went in for my lunch today have been in several times before. Always a friendly welcome and relaxing atmosphere. I've had a double oatcake today which is by far the best oatcake I've ever eaten, on the menu it points out how everything is locally soutced. I then had a curly wurly homemade chocolate cake and a latte which is also their own blend of coffee. By far my favourite tearoom. Quirky decor with a teapot shelf and blue chandeliers. Also do takeaway everything.

went last weekend to lion house tearoom in leek and wasn’t sure to expect! I ordered a lion house cappuccino, and afternoon tea with my partner. The cappuccino was amazing, I’ve never tasted coffee like it. There was bacon and mozzarella quiche, Victoria sponge and some sandwiches and it was absolutely amazing. The cake was moist and the nicest Victoria sponge I’ve ever had, and the quiche was lovely. We ended up staying for a few hours and the owner and staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel welcome. The decoration was really nice. We are coming back this weekend! Can’t wait!

Called in on a cold late morning to warm up. The coffe was excellent and served with quiet efficiency. The cakes looked delicious but we went for the cheese scone. This was an inspired choice as they were some of the best we had tasted. The background music was pleasant and quiet enough to allow normal conversation. The whole experience was one of old fashioned service and quality. We will definitely be going back. A really good place for families but could be difficult for wheelchairs.

Unfortunately there are no longer any free-from offerings. It's such a shame as my family used to really enjoy cakes from here. Many successful eateries just don't label their products vegan or gluten-free and they sell really well. Those of us with dietary requirements will ask what's suitable for us anyway...offering one free-from GF option shouldn't be too hard in 2022.
