Great little pub, tasty pizzas, friendly staff and a great atmosphere! Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area

The homemade pizzas were enjoyed by all. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were really attentive towards us. The children also enjoyed the food! 5⭐️ would highly recommend.

The service was incredible and Becky made the best most terrific pizzas from scratch. Honestly a must if your in the area, or even if your not… don’t walk, RUN to The Rose & Crown! It could’t finish it so Becky packed it up so i can enjoy a late night snack 🥰

This is the most incredible place i’ve ever been to. The service restored my faith in humanity. Becky if you read this, may life bless you and your incredible pizza cooking skills. We had such a great time. I’d recommend the mortimers cider, so good and pairs really well with the honey pizza. Just incredible, get you and everyone you know in this place - it will change your life.

Beautiful little place, so full of character. Serves pizzas and sides (chips and goujons). Has a card reader and a lovely beer garden. Very friendly staff, 5* from me. I recommend 😁

The landlord/landlady and all the staff are incredibly accommodating. There is always a lovely atmosphere and dogs and children are very welcome. We always have a great time when we come to visit. The new pizza menu is delicious. Highly recommend

We rang to book a table for a meal this evening. Told we don't need to book it will not be busy. So took a 15 minute walk down from a local campsite to be told on arrival that there was only pizza available. ! Why didn't they mention this when we rang??? We had seen reviews singing the praises of the pies. Told " we haven't done pies for quite a while " Trudged disappointedly back up the hill to cook our own meal instead.

Had an absolute brilliant time here last night and really recommend the ipa. Probably one of the nicest pints of beer I’ve had in a long time and will defo be coming back for more.

Often pop in on our weekend walk for a beer and a chat, Neil & family are doing a great job, lovely atmosphere, great drinks selection and food is also available and we believe to be tasty too!. Lots of live music which the good lady wife and I enjoyed recently too and was just what we needed, thanks all, keep up the hard work, Dan & Lisa

Recently reopened after a refurbished. Lovely pub. Nice locals and fantastic hosts. Decor very nice like all Jules pubs.. My new favourite pub😁

This is a super local pub, exceptionally welcoming to all the family (babies and dogs included). It has recently been refurbished by the new landlords and is now bright and airy, but still maintains the warm and friendly atmosphere of a country pub. A good range of Joules beers are available, and I recommend trying the three glass ale platter to sample these. The choice of wines and spirits is decent, and there are also options for coffee and cake - there is a loyalty card scheme for this which means free cake and coffee after the card is filled. Food is also available on Thursday and Friday evenings. Highly recommended.

Lovely lager, friendly staff, excellent home cooked food representing brilliant value for money.

Had a small wake here after a family funeral. Food was great sandwiches, chips, pork pies, quiche, home made cake, tea and coffee. Great staff, great refurb pub. Would not hesitate to use this as a venue again.

Visited the Rose and Crown on Sunday as they advertised live entertainment from 4pm. The band Soul Express did not disappoint, they were amazing! A fabulous way to spend Sunday afternoon/evening with live music, a little bit of dancing and amazing ambience i.e roaring fire, nice surroundings. I understand live music will be a regular feature and will definitely go again. We reserved a table as we were a large group and took advantage of the pork baps which were lovely. Thank you for am amazing evening.

Wow what can i say, heard the rumours about the pie being brilliant but this was something else, lashing of meat filled gravy and as much bread and butter as you can handle. This was special by far the best pie we 6 as a family have ever had book it early or you'll miss out. Hats off to the chef. Only way to describe it was outstanding 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We were lucky as we learnt that Thursday and Friday are Pie Night so booked (due t C19 situation) and. We were not disappointed. Couldn't be better - we ordered a cheese and onion and a steak and ale. We split and shared and to be honest it was difficult to decide which was the best - so,they're both great! We shared a nice bottle of Jack Rsbbit wine and I rounded the evening off with a pint of Stowford Press. Social distancing/hygiene/reduced table numbers all made out first outing to a pub since early March very relaxed. Thanks R and C for a smashing night out.

Been going to the rose and crown now on a regular basis now for the last 5 years and never had a bad pint and if it even looks a bit off it is changed without hesitation.lad lord John and barmaid Belinda are excellent hosts.ever Wednesday,Thursday and Friday is home made pie night,oh my god what a delight and must be tried but need to book

Pie night a must!! Very, very nice and very ,very full. You will not get a better pie in all of Staffordshire moorland.

Wow what a warm welcome. Just moved to the area. Everyone was lovely but the homemade pie and chips were the best.

It's a real "local" with the best cheese and onion pie in the land!

The Rose & Crown is my local pub and is very warm and friendly. It serves, probably the best pie and chips I've tasted. The chips would give Rick Stein a run for his money. They also serve Sunday lunch, again really tasty and amazing value for money. Would recommend the cheese & onion pie and the steak & ale pie.
