Great, super family run pub, I took a group of 40 from burton here last Saturday, was made very welcome, ordered oatcakes which were lovely. A must go to pub in leek, food is also very good, but you'll need to book a table well In advance.

Food is brilliant and a great price Nothing to much trouble for the staff The landlord is Paul aka H or Harry He has a great sense of humour and likes banter with the locals and folk passing through I recommend you try early doors at 6pm The pub banter is so funny The kitchen at the blue mugge With a excellent selection If you leave the pub hungry then it's your own fault. I love the place to bits It's my second home .if you visit leek in staffs moorlands it's a must visit venue Also accommodation is available if booked before hand and on line Brilliant landlord and landlady Paul and shelly Always come around the pub and mix with people The staff in kitchen and on the bar put heart and soul to make sure everything is bang on

Good old fashioned pub, lovely atmosphere.

Went for food when it opened at 6 to be told they only do food at lunchtimes. I commented that it does not mention this on their opening hours. To be told that it says it online. However as they don't have a Web page unsure where you are supposed to find this info. Most disappointing

This pub is a bit like marmite; the ambiance is 1970's, missing only the cigarette smoke and nicotine stained walls, which I find nostalgic but which others find dated. The food is cheap and some dishes, like the paneer Cury, are undoubtedly home made & good value but my fish chips & peas were frozen 1970's motorway service station quality and frankly not worth the £7.50 price tag.

Excellent menu and good selection of cask beers all at exceptionally good value for money. The food is homely and quality ingredients, service is great and the atmosphere is what a good British pub should be including great beers.

What a treat. We went in not knowing what to expect, we were greeted well, the menu is fabulous, we both had meat and potatoe pie really good. Really enjoyed the whole experience and will most definitely put this pub top of my list for a local lunchtime treat. ThNkyou so much

What a great pub this is. We called in one evening for a drink and got talking to Harry, the landlord, who is an extremely friendly and helpful person, always smiling and very hard working. We were so impressed we decided to go back to eat. . They only serve food at lunch time and you have to book to get a table. It’s a good sized pub, so we were suprised to have to book, but realised why, when we had lunch. Exceptional prices, excellent portions and the food is as good as home made, and locally sourced. I would recommend the Blue Mugge to anyone for a visit.

Visiting in the area and looking for somewhere for lunch was advised to try The Blue Mugge. From the jolly welcome to the last forkful of food what a super experience. Proper pub menu ( should suit most tastes) coupled with prices that won't break the bank the Blue Mugge is certainty somewhere we'll visit again, and again, and again....well done to the management and staff. Ps the beer ain't bad either

Lovely choice of lunches, all sound and taste delicious! The homemade pies are great, as are the staple British dishes.

Our experience in this pub has always been great so after seeing that they serve weekday specials on food we decided to give it a try. The staff are all polite and above and beyond helpful. The service was unbeatable. They couldn’t do enough for us. The home cooked food was so amazing, we could not find one fault with anything! Thank you for our valentines meal. We will definitely return.

First time here , the pub was busy , you have to be early as they only serve food until 2pm , it’s very cheap like nothing over £7 , so you get what you pay for , it’s just ok nice and very cheap , if they served food all day it would be good for after schools or after work , also no food on Sundays

Our first time here after hearing so many good reviews and it wasn't a disappointment! Fabulous food at great prices and warm friendly staff. Reminded me of the good old days when pubs were pubs, serving proper homecooked food in a traditional pub setting without the ridiculous over pricing that so many establishments do these days. We had a fantastic meal, and as a Vegetarian there were so many great options for Veggies and Vegans. Just booked to go again and will become a regular 'go to' for us now. Keep doing what you're doing Blue Mugge! 5 stars from us!

We called in after seeing a Facebook post about the special of the day. It looked really nice (curried vegetable pie). I also looked at the menu and was impressed with the huge amount of vegetarian and vegan options. The value for the quality of food is unbelievable…homemade, high quality food at half of the price most other places charge! I have already been back again just a week later and had another wonderful meal. The staff are lovely and friendly, the waitress that served both times was very nice and made a fuss my children. 100% highly recommended!

Food here is really good quality for the price and the beer is kept well they have a great selection of flavoured gins, vodkas, shots etc. The staff are lovely and friendly and the owners shelly and H (paul) are an amazing great couple can't do enough for you.

Excellent service. Excellent beer kept in a traditional cellar at the correct temperature. A friendly welcome too for my dog: Daisy Who is always greeted with much affection. I'm so jealous. They are a credit to the community & their excellent food is always in high demand. Book early for next Xmas as this one (2022) is fully booked already. Came for lunch after seeing it advertised on Facebook, it more than han met expectations. Walked into a packed, atmospheric tradition pub with unusual features such as the 360degrees bar! Staff were very friendly. Lunch was amazing. Extensive menu, all home cooked and unbelievable prices. Quality and service was exceptional. Parking could be problematic as the street parking was sparse but luckily we found a space. Booking is recommended as it seems to be always busy ( rightly so) but you won't be disappointed. Well done to staff and landlord for this hidden gem!

This pub is a gem - the food - beer and staff are all exceptional. Fresh food well cooked and presented - reasonably priced too, we regularly eat there - BUT PLEASE BOOK TO AVIOD DISAPPOINTMENT- IT REALLY DOES GET BUSY.

Serving food only some days of the week? Not Sundays?

My wife and I went for lunch and were lucky to get a table. When we went in the first thing was the wonderful atmosphere of a “local” pub . The bar staff were lovely, Elliot and the young lady working with him were so helpful. We ordered from a quite extensive menu but couldn’t believe the competitive prices. My wife had a vegetarian pie that looked and tasted amazing, I had a salad (I’m on a diet)that was well presented and very tasty. I would most definitely recommend the Blue Mugge to anyone, but make sure you book as when we left there wasn’t a table free!!

We visited The Blue Mugge yesterday during my trip to the peak district. We were welcomed by the lovely staff, they were very friendly and welcoming. The pub requires pre-booking which I wasn't aware of as they are quite busy everyday. Despite the fact we didn't have a booking the staff managed to get us a table after some time. The pub had a selection of dishes which was hard to choose. I was amazed at the fact that they had a vegan/vegetarian menu also. The food was delicious, I would highly recommend to pop in for a drink or food in a lovely atmosphere ☺️

Wow wow wow. Came in with my grandad for a lovely home cooked meal, we were instantly greeted with smiles from all the bar staff who were all so attentive and welcoming so big shout out to Dan, Sophie and Elliot. The pub was busy and had a lovely atmosphere, and considering how busy it was the food still came quickly, it was proper home cooked food and you could tell a lot of hard work goes into all the meals that come out of the kitchen. Will definitely be going again and recommend it to everyone, just make sure to book!x

Just back from our weekly lunch visit to the blue Mugge. Never disappointed food always delicious including home made pies and sponge pudding excellent menu and very good prices. The staff are always polite friendly and helpful no better place in leek for lunches. Shame...

Great hidden gem of a place. Good, home cooked food at lunchtime with a changing menu including veggie and vegan. Old world charm, on street parking. One step up for entry to building but ok for access to loo once inside. Lovely staff :-)

Came here after reading all good reviews as it’s number 1 in the area , and to its just frozen and tinned food served at a cheap price . Not a top quality food establishment more of a cheap value meal , not my kind...

Great beer 🍺 but there were people vaping. Sorry put me right off. So l left. And dogs all-over the seat's. The bar staff were very friendly. It's a great pud pity about the vaping. 5 star beer.
