Visited here and the shop looks great. Some good quality food items here, and some that although look good are not. Some items you could get better quality and cheaper at your local butchers. You'll pretty much get most things here, but some items i saw had rather inflated prices, when you can get the same items in a shop or department store for a lot cheaper. I've tried the too good to go bag from here too. I was really not impressed by it. The bag contained 4 scones, 2 net bags of small halloween chocolate balls, a sandwich that just tasted horrible, a dry croissant, and a small tube of butter. Too good to go... it was not!

Polite, friendly and helpful staff made this vist a true delight and well worth seeking a detour to discover if you have not found this pub already. Fresh tasty food was delivered promptly and all credit to the young chef working wonders in the kitchen. The four starters we sampled were all very well presented and well thought out and balanced dishes. Well worth a visit again.

After having to sit in the bar and serve ourselves to be truly let down with meals my steak was under cook pepper sauce which felt like someone left over gravy from their Sunday dinner my partner pizza was soggy and very bland. We felt after spending so much money and being ignored by staff we had to finish the meals and get out of there. We also realised the lady next to us was highly disappointed and ignored by staff too. I am highly disappointed with the swan. The staff didn’t come over and ask if we were ok if meals were ok we felt ignored. We were only here a month ago and it was amazing so what has change!!!!! We will not be coming back….

£35 for a buffet you expect quality instead, cold and awful. No veg, had to wait 20mins and still nothing. Poor waiters were clearly understaffed and ran off their feet. Chef was clearly angry when I handed my food back saying it was cold and over cooked Not what I expected

Hadn't been here before, personally I wouldn't return. Three of us went, my two friends had rib of beef which wasn't cheap, the waitess on ordering it told us they couldn't guarantee meat to fat ratio and it can sometimes be chewier due to a higher fat content! It was suppose to come with Kale, no Kale was on the plate, to which we were told its seasonal, they should just put seasonal veg on the menu. The mashed potatoe was luke warm. I had fish and chips again over priced compared to other places, I was told that they didn't have triple cooked chips instead it would be Fries, that was fine. When the meal came they were triple cooked chips and were luke warm!! The chef and waiting staff clearly don't communicate. My friend asked for horseradish sauce, a tiny bit arrived apparently they had ran out due to Sunday roasts. Surely they can manage the amount of horseradish needed and order enough to last the week ahead. My friend had to ask several times for mustard. On our bill they had added a Pepsi which we hadn't had. The waiting staff are pleasant and polite, we did tell the waitress of our disappointment and they removed the service charge and discounted the bill so they did take our criticism seriously.

My sister had booked an afternoon tea for the three of us as it was our anniversary. We were so looking forward to it as we had been here sometime before and it was lovely. But times have changed. We were seated in quite a soul less room which had a large and distracting, television. The staff I h!ave to say were very good and attentive. The afternoon tea when it came was disappointing, there was no wow factor and looked very meagre. Because I am a veggie I had my own cake stand and one less sandwich than my carnivore companions. The shot glass with a cream concoction was lovely but the spoon given is too big to go into the glass. The cakes tasted very nice but there was nothing special about them, a thin slice of madeira, a thin slice of brownie and a minute offering of flap jack. The shortbread biscuit was nice though. The scones resembled biscuits and were quite hard. Clotted cream was nice though. All in all not an unpleasant afternoon but not nice enough to tempt me back again.

Visited Several times & always had great meal. First visit since reopened as Stout & Stone pub. Starters fine, tasty. My husband & sister had burgers which were nice. I had Belly Pork & was very disappointed- pork bloody in parts & tasteless. Bit tough. Baked Apple not cooked properly, rock hard. Garlic mash bland & not smooth, very large portion of red cabbage & no other veg. Not worth £17.95. Pub was very cold , but heating was turned on when we complained. Very few diners but had run out of fish & beef from an already limited menu. I complained as only ate very small amount. No apologies or acknowledgment of issues from management & no refund. What a shame for such a lovely country pub.

As soon as you see the sign "No WiFi just talk to one another" you know you're in a traditional pub. A good range of Ale, keg beer and Lager available. There's also an extensive menu of traditional pub food. Our group had Fish and chips, Scampi and the pie was all delicious. Our little ones enjoyed their Fish finger and chips too. Its setting by a lock on the canal is interesting for young ones too. Luckily a local steam engine club popped in to make it a special visit.

Good value traditional British hotel We visited here as had to visit someone who lives in this area. It was very reasonable priced and I did check the reviews first and as usual I did read between the lines. The hotel is not far from Kingsbury which was where I was visiting. The free car park was spacious , the reception was traditional and inviting, we had a warm welcome. Given directions to our room. We walked through a beautiful courtyard to our room block. Because of the old building I found finding the room a bit confusing but do appreciate that fire doors are required and keep the building safe. I just missed the stairs up to our room because the door just looked like a room and the sign didn’t stand out enough: (but it is not really a complaint just to make people aware) . The room was a little tired but it was clean, we had plenty of storage if needed it. A good sized bathroom. A great shower over the bath. The hot water was very hot and practically instant, towels and bedding clean. Hand soap and shower gel is provided . We had a kettle and teabags making facilities however no coffee so we did get some coffee and milk when we were out. I’m sure if we’d asked they’d have given us some. The dining room reminded me of a traditional restaurant. We sat at a laid table . Was served fresh tea or coffee and a full English breakfast. The bacon was a beautiful thick slice . It was a well cooked and presented meal. There is a toaster there where I made myself toast to go with my breakfast. And if wanted there is a choice of cereal The hotel is in a quiet area. There are beautiful little nooks and crannies for a relax, if I was wasn’t rushing around I would have loved to have chilled in the courtyard . It was so beautiful, it was so relaxed the view from our window was also lovely: I just felt comfortable, chilled and happy. I can’t understand the cleanliness rating as our room was spotless: Would stay here again .. most definitely. I think sometimes people pay budget prices and expect 5 star accommodation. If somewhere is comfortable, clean and welcoming it doesn’t need to be luxury items. I am rating this 5 stars on value for money and fairly for what I paid ..
