Family lunch with a one year old Labrador. 5 of us met for lunch with the dog. We chose to sit in the bar with the dog. Super set menu which was well priced, very friendly staff and nice food.

Pleasant staff but slow service. Feel the quality of the food is somewhat overpriced. Disappointed with poor quality fatty meat pie and lack of green vegetables.

This was a good place in the past but going down hill FAST. Lot of items not available and about an hours delay for our food. Did not bother to order deserts. Looking at other comments the managers say they are going to sort things out but they have not yet started. Very disappointed.

Been here many times over the years - nothing special but good midway point to meet up with family. Today's visit was terrible - most items on menu unavailable, staff spent more time complaining to one another about how much they hated their jobs than attending to customers - don't know if owners have changed but place is rubbish.

Visited this pub February. One of our party ordered a large glass of wine which came in a very dirty glass yes the waitress changed the glass to a clean one but poured the wine from the dirty one in to the clean one!!! Another member of our party waited nearly 10 minutes for their meal after our was served and the chunky chips were awful.Lovely pub but that’s about it

Visited Thursday lunch. Just 2 other diners when we arrived + a party of 4 arrived just after. Nice welcome and drinks order taken by the time we reached our table. Thereafter a little slow in taking food order but we weren't in a hurry so quiet relaxing. Nice atmosphere enhanced by log fire (which was needed as a little cool otherwise on a cold day. A varied menu with options somewhat different from standard pub fayre. Very nice starter - salt and pepper squid which was faultlessly cooked and followed up with chicken, bacon and avocado salad which was nicely prepared as well. Service was fine albeit a little lacking in charm. Overall very enjoyable but maybe a little more expensive than usual pub dining but it was helpful to be able to use a discount card to get the cost down to £20 per head incl. 2 drinks each. Beer choice was OK.

Lovely food, and good atmosphere, freindly staff. Comfortable chairs. Unfortunately poor lighting on our table however it didnt stop us having a greag time.

First time I've been back to The Green Man for 25 years, having moved to London. Really cosy pub in a lovely country setting, food was great but full marks go to Lauren, super friendly, polite and a great waitress! Will be back next week

Great catch up in wonderful surroundings. Always a pleasure to return to the Green Man. Fabulous food and lovely choice of ales. Staff were fantastical as usual particularly Lauren who attentive and knowledgeable without being pushy. Keep up the great work.

We were in the area with family & booked online then popped in for an early dinner. The menu was comprehensive, the pub was cosy with a nice fire (we kept it topped up with logs too), all of us had a lovely meal. Katie our waitress deserves a special mention, she worked her socks off together with the bar man. They & the chef appeared to be the only ones on shift for what is normally a busy pub. We will return and thanks again to Katie for working hard to help our evening. Appreciated.

Been here regularly as a good venue close to home, out in the country. Lovely food, great service from Lauren. A great place for a quiet meet with friends.

I've been going here for many years but last Saturday was a great disappointment verging on embarrassing for my guests. The food was very good as always but the service was terrible, waiting staff had no idea about etiquette, interrupting conversations, leaning over or pushing past people totally inappropriate. Service was also slow and on at least 4 occasions we had to remind staff that food or drinks we had ordered hadn't arrived. To cap it all I got billed a further £38 3 days later as they had omitted to add this to my bill (which was divided equally on the night between those present), when I queried it, they said I should have asked the waitress to add the bar tab to my bill (but no one told me)? All in all very poor and as sad as it is, after so many years I think it's time to look elsewhere for this event and perhaps the others we hold there throughout the year.

Tasty food and excellent service from our waitress Lauren. Didn’t order from he festive menu as we all fancied food from the main menu (it had loads of choice). Will definitely come again!

We do not come to this pub very often but as a family we visit our relatives every year that are no longer with us at the church across the road, and after we always have a drink at this pub. As we entered the pub (which only had one other table of three people) we felt very unwelcome. The one member of the bar staff hardly spoke a word to us. There was however a member of the kitchen staff that came out to speak to us and he was very friendly. We were a group of 8 people with a baby so had a pushchair and almost felt like we were an inconvenience, no matter where we sat and put the pushchair we were in the way. This pub obviously has regular customers and just because we do not visit this pub every week doesn’t mean we should feel less welcome! It’s a big shame.

Went there on a recommendation for Saturday lunch, extensive menu, very nice polite staff. Was Inc e to go to a well run establishment that seemed to be run by a very youthful staff, all polite and smart. Food was excellent, so much so we went back for Sunday lunch, enjoyed it just thought there wasn't the need for bread sauce and Apple sauce, also not fussed on the beetroot, otherwise really enjoyed. Would highly recomend

We’ve been here several times, all excellent. Most recently for Sunday lunch. The menu is extensive with plenty of variety and there’s a great selection of draught ales and ciders on the bar. A very nice and cosy village pub.

Family visit for daughters 18th. Great environment for autumnal season. Comprehensive food/drinks menu. Food quality/service great value. All of us would revisit, strongly recommend for any occasion!

Brilliant Food. Tasteful, hot, well cooked and amazingly plated.

My friend suggested we come here as it would be something different compared to the restaurants I usually visit. For her, it was amazing and I must admit her meal did look lovely. However I cannot say the same for me. I ordered a rump steak and although cooked medium rare like I asked, it was unfortunately chewy and grisly. Which was a shame as it was the only thing I could really eat since I was only given eight chips. I’ve heard of cutting portion sizes back to help with the price of stock but that’s ridiculous. :( wish I had insisted to my friend that we had gone to my usual beefeater as I would have been given more food for a cheaper price

Booked table for Friday 19th October 2018 7.00pm to meet with friends. They had arrived before us, we were taken to our table which was situated on the opposite side to the entrance. We were taken through a very large group of people standing at the bar on the side opposite the entrance passed the toilets. There was a group/singer playing. The food and drinks were ordered and while waiting some sample food was brought out by the waiter and waitress. Our starters came they were very nice. When the main course arrived the customers in our area had changed a couple had left but three other young couples arrived requesting a table for 6. They were found one with tables being pushed together. The group of people round the bar had also gone and the music had stopped. Three out of four mains were fine but one was dreadful, the lamb even though stated it was served pink was actually running with blood and very tough. No one came and asked if everything was okay. The group of young 3 couples was just an intrusion on our evening, we couldn't speak to the friends we were with because the noise was very load with them going out for cigarettes on a regular basis. We have no issue with people enjoying themselves but when you have paid £40.00 per head you expect a little bit of class. If we had wanted to have a quick in and out meal we would have gone to the Harvester. This is the third time we have been to The Green Man over the past couple of years, the other two experiences were much better. One was with the same friends we were with on Friday and the other time was with a large group in February this year. We are not local to the area we were staying in it

Visited on Saturday night, having been here before, 40 odd yrs ago. Still great food, and great atmosphere. Will return again, sooner than 4o yrs!!

My parents and I had Sunday lunch last weekend. The main course portions were generous, well presented and cooked really well. We all had different roasts which were lovely, the chicken was excellent- soft and falling off the bone. The only downside was that mine wasn’t served hot. I like my hot food, hot. I returned it without any fuss and got another portion which was warmer - although I would argue was still not hot.

We googled a dog friendly place in the area and wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived. Wow we were so pleasantly surprised. We were treated by pleasant helpful staff and because of the pups ask us if it would be ok for us to sit in the bar area. This was no problem whatsoever. It was a nice environment and even the other visitors were very friendly.

We stopped here for lunch last week whilst out walking. We received a good welcome and we were both pleased with our meals. I had the vegan whole food salad which was fantastic and very filling. Both waiters were very friendly and we both enjoyed our dining experience here. Would go back again and highly recommended

Had our son’s after masters graduation meal here. Hubby had a huge,hot and very well cooked mixed grill. Son and myself had the hunters chicken. Deserts were divine. Hubby had a treacle sponge and custard. Chocolate brownie for my son. Consistently good food.

We went there, despite my reservations, for a post community event meal. It was as awful as ever. Staff were surly and uninterested, Food took ages to arrive and was DEFINITELY not worth the inflated prices. The place just feels uncomfortable as soon as you walk in.

Busy as was bank holiday Monday , on entering we asked for a table for 2 to be told no space in restaurant can see if table available in bar if we wanted ...not a welcoming reception from the waitress at all . However we went to the bar area and found a table which was littered with dishes from the previous occupants , waitresses in and out but no one came to clear the table.

First visit a month ago. Visited the pub during the week for dinner and decided to take advantage of the meal deal. As soon as we entered we were shown to the "hobbit table" right by the main entrance although the restaurant was empty. I refused to sit in the dark corner like a hobbit and choose one from the other 12 empty tables. We ordered the meal deal but at the end the bill did not reflect the discount. When we enquired about it, we shown to the very small print under almost 40% of menu to say its not included in the deal or there is a supplement. Meal was mediocre at best. Left with disappointment as the place look nice, setting is nice.

All I can say is I wish I had read the reviews before we went, staff very nice and pleasant and helpful,food all steaks cold,not cooked to how was ordered, such a shame always was a cut above the rest locally,last time sorry for me.

A party of 8 dined here late Saturday afternoon. We were welcomed warmly by staff who were attentive throughout. The food was excellent, portion size just right and a good range of drinks was available.

I had not been to the Green Man in years so took my family based on the fact that it was a lovely summers evening and I remembered it having a nice beer garden.

Myself and friend booked a table tonight. We had thought it was a nice venue however the food when it arrived was terrible tiny portions and no value for money. Certainly not memorable for the right reasons. Toilets unkept dirty skirting boards and overall needs a desperate update. Friendly staff. Overall I would not return.

Went here last night 30mins drive from where we live and very impressed with the welcome lovely staff , service was extremely good food lovely.However I feel the need to speak about the dessert we travel and eat out a lot so get to eat all sorts!! Considering its Strawberry season we had (we'd both chosen the same) I would think a maximum 2 strawberries cut up!!!!!! round a small scoop of ice cream... £4 95 !!!! Such a shame as the rest was so lovely...

Food was really tasty but, as another review has mentioned - the toilets were disgusting!

Had booked a table and arrived an hour early so sat outside to enjoy some sunshine.. tables were all covered with plates, glasses and left over food and wasps.. I saw this as a positive that it is clearly a busy and popular place. In walking into the restaurant I was less positive as it looked and smelt dirty- all toilets had signs saying renovations are due but they were filthy and smelt like old toilets- stale wee!!

We had a lovely relaxing meal in the garden area, complementary aperol spritz which was delicious thank you. Fantastic food for our party of 9, friendly staff, lovely experience. We will definitely be back soon

What a surprise!!! Came to have a relaxed family dinner, and experienced a gastronomic delight... very basic pub food with extremely high quality!!!! The Sea bass, Wagyu beef burger, sliders, are a MUST!!! if you are ever visiting around Birmingham or going to the Belfry, this restaurant needs to be visited!!! Kudos!!!

We went here for a friends leaving meal so there was a group of 7 of us. The place was chosen for the location but also the good reviews it had received.

I celebrated my 40th ( sssh dont tell anyone ) at the Green Man with friends on a Saturday night.

We have visited many times over the years. The food was good and the service friendly. The ladies toilets needed a good clean. We had to send the bill back twice because they forgot about the deposit we paid and also the food was charged individually instead of the set price on the Father's Day menu. Together with a 20% off voucher, our total bill came down from£110 to £65.

Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Great choice on menu. Parking. Quiet location, Great outdoor eating space. Definatly reccomend.

We have dined at the green man many times over the years and selected it for a father's Day treat. The service to start with was slick and we ordered from the father's Day menu. Our table was booked for 7.30 and we arrived on time. We both ordered the crab which was excellent. We ordered nut roast which was good but my trio of beef chicken and pork was "tired", over cooked and looked like it had been ready to be served for a few hours. Then the fun started...our waitress had disappeared, I assume at the end of her shift and we waited patiently to choose our sweet. Nobody appeared until at last we were presented with a bill. We had used a 3 course menu and expected that to be available to us. We soldiered on and eventually someone who advised us he was the manager took charge. We ordered our sweets only to be told one was no longer available... eventually paid the bill which was correct.

Been here a couple of times now. Always thought the food was excellent. This time I ordered the Sea Bass fillets. The menu states that it comes with pancetta. However there was no visible sign of it, or taste. The meal was delicious, but I thought I’d just mentioned the lack of pancetta the the waiting staff when they asked if everything was ok. Not as a complaint more of an observation. She said she’d mention it to the chef. She returned saying that chef said the pancetta was entwined with the white wine sauce that’s why I couldn’t see or taste it.

Great time nice place to eat and the service was good . Just a good night for us and good price too . Parking ok nice and friendly would go again

Driving those tiny English roads creates hunger, and a desire for a warm welcome. Friendly staff, and dog friendly facilities. Leisurely service, good menu, and tasty food. Good fun and good value!

Arrived on Saturday lunch time with my son without a booking. One table of 4 talking to a staff member and a young lady with her young daughter eating lunch. There was no-one behind the bar. The staff member looked at my son and I on several occasions but continued sitting by the till talking to he table of 4. 5 minutes later the barman appeared and took our drinks order. He said all tables were free so sit wherever we wanted. Once we were seating the talking member of staff gave us a menu each. After approximately 10 minutes he came back to take our order. He had delivered half of the food order to the table of 4 then came to take our order. When the food arrived there were no issues. The member of staff then returned to the table of 4 with the rest of their order. He asked if they wanted sauces or anything else. We were not given that option. The food was good as usual. I use the restaurant on a regular basis but if I receive that sort of treatment again I will never return.

This time went for a mid week lunch with 2 friends, and once again the food was superb. Lovely friendly face by the name of Aaron served us at the bar.. dessert was served by the chef Jake who came to our table and very chatty and we thanked him for our lovely food... the actual pub itself could do with a refurb, ie new carpet etc, but I’m sure that will happen in time with this chain of pubs it belongs to.

I visited here yesterday for my daughters birthday. There were 5 of us and chose here as there was a good vegan menu, 2 of our party were vegans and having visited saxon mill in Warwick,the same chain and had lovely meals were looking forward to our visit. Our table was booked for 5.30 on a Sunday and when we arrived the pub was fairly busy, our table was ready and we were seated as soon as we arrived. After about five mins a waiter asked us what we wanted to drink I replied we hadn't had a drinks menu he fetched us one and he took our order. When the drinks arrived two were wrong and also no glasses were provided for the bottled cider which I thought wierd u are always offered a glass I waited to see if one came but it didn't so I asked the waiter for one he said he would fetch me one, 5 mins later no glass, I then went up to the bar and asked the barman for a glass with ice he told me to sit down and he would bring me one. After waiting several minutes still no glass, I asked a different waiter who fetched me one straight away. We then gave our food orders for the main course. After about half an hour the waiter came and told me that my order was not available the resturant had run out of chicken. I chose a second option fig and goats cheese pizza again my order was taken. After another twenty mins the waiter came up to me again with no apology and said they had ran out of goats cheese would I like Hallomui on my pizza I declined as I hate the stuff he then just stood there i asked for the menu and also asked if they had any roasts left u guessed it they had ran out. My choices were now limited and chose something I didn't really fancy. When the food finally came it tasted OK but the whole evening had been spoilt by this point I didn't really fancy my meal. I spent over 100 pound and the service was appalling. I wished I had voiced my concerns at the time but didn't want to put more of a dampener on the evening.AVOID.

A very pleasant setting serving interesting and tasty dishes. Service was friendly but not particularly quick, this may be because we didn't have a starter. They do a good lunch time deal.

We have been to The Green Man several times before & have always had a good meal. However after today’s visit we won’t be returning. We had booked a table for 2pm expecting the pub to be busy on a hot, sunny bank holiday afternoon. We arrived to be told there was no fish available off the menu as the delivery hadn’t arrived. We had to collect our own drinks off the bar as they had sat there for 20 minutes without being brought to us. Someone finally came to take our order- I had decided on the whole food salad, to be told there wasn’t any. 3 people in our group wanted the burger, to be told there were no burgers! We then waited a long time (around 45 minutes)for our starters. It then took another 20 minutes for our table to be cleared. Finally our main courses arrived- 3 people had the sticky chicken which was a tiny portion & not as we’ve had it before. One waitress apologised for our wait but there was no offer to take money off the bill. Very disappointed. I know it was a bank holiday but they were totally unprepared. Would no longer recommend The Green Man as a place to go.

A group of 8 of us joined together to celebrate a birthday. We chose to eat off their specials 'couples' menu with 2 courses for £20 or 3 for £24, including a bottle of wine or a good choice of other drinks. (Only available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I think)

On arrival the waitress who "welcomed" us could not find our reservation in the book and needed assistance from a person we assumed to be the manager.

Me and my fiancé visited The Green Man on 21st of April. I had booked a table for 8pm we got there at 7:45 but our table was ready for us and we were taken straight to our table.

My friend and I are regular visitors to The Green Man but had noticed subtle changes in the standards over the last few months, and sadly not for the better. However, after eating there a couple of weeks ago, I'm glad to report that things are definitely on the up. The change of management is long overdue and our experience under the new regime was far better than previously. The food was excellent and the new manager went out of his way to ensure that everything was OK after taking our booking at very short notice. The atmosphere was very friendly and we felt very welcome. The Green Man always had the reputation of being a dining experience which was solid and dependable and, based on our experience, it's on its way back to achieving that once again.

We ate at the green man for the first time tonight and was very impressed with the menu. The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. Top class service and will definatly be returning again.

We visited the restaurant today and the service was appalling. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for our main course to arrive and when they arrived they were cold which was massively disappointing as we didn’t have time to wait for them to be recooked.

Being aware of the recent change of management, we were alert to discern what might have changed since previous visits.

Great lunch, not cheap but quality meals. Service good, menu plenty of choice as published on the web site.

It was our first time at visiting The Green Man and it definitely will not be the last lovely country pub, welcoming atmosphere warm and cosy very busy advice not to turn up for a meal as you may be disappointed book in advance as they get so busy. The meal we had was one of the best I've ever had we were advised to have the fish and chips highly recommended the fish was HUGE it was served on a wooden tray over the top of the best chips I've had in a very long time served with mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce I looked at the size of it in shock lol as it was so big , the rest of the menu is equally as good my daughter and her partner had pizza which is cooked in a authentic pizza oven which is in the bar downstairs , would not hesitate to say that everything on the menu is equally as good as what we had. If I could give this pub ten stars plus I would try it and see for yourself you will not be disappointed.

The Green Man, in Middleton, used to be one of our haunts when we were courting (going out), some 35 years ago. It was one of the "in" places of that time known for its great food (especially the steaks) and good beer and was always packed out until the owner of the time got caught out selling horse meat when customers thought they were eating beef steak! The steaks were delicious!!!!

Last minute booking via website. Very easy to book! When we arrived apart from the dis interested barman we were shown to our table straight away. After a little wait to initially order staff were friendly and attentive. Food was of a good quality and fresh! Enjoyed our time having 3 x courses and drinks. Will be back and will recommend!

I attended before after reading the trip advisor reviews I knew I would have to wait for food but it was almost 2 hours before I got my main!

After reading the reviews on trip advisor I was a bit dubious about stopping, I had heard there was new management, so I called in. Arrived at 1.40, and was greeted by the new manager Chelsey Fray, asked if I would like to dine, so hesitantly I said yes... at 2pm had a lovely table, ordered the roast beef dinner, husband had the lamb rump. Our waitress for the day was a lovely girl called Sophie , who served us with a lovely smile and very helpful. The food came, and it’s was very tasty, presented well, hot, gravy was to die for ( thanks Callum the chef) roast tattles crisp and fluffy. Only criticism beef slightly rare, but not a problem. Another mention to Mitchell who also spoke to us and asked about our meal. I really do hope more people will now give this pub a chance as I think with the right management it could get back to been somewhere a decent place to eat.

We were greeted on arrival at 1:30 and shown to a table for 2 by the window.I ordered a pint of doombar which was in good condition and my wife opted for a malbec which was also good.We both decided to have fish and chips without any starters.The meals arrived in a reasonable time and the cod had a nice crispy batter,the fish itself was ok,the triple cooked chips were very dark and looked like it was time for some fresh oil in the fryer.The fish was sat on crushed minted peas (why do they do that!!) and the peas themselves were stone cold.

I hadn’t been here for about 4 yrs so suggested to my partner we go for lunch. We was seated pretty much right away, the table next to us was seated after. 5 minutes later the other table was asked if they wanted drinks, so already not a great start. We finally was asked and ordered. Drinks took ages to come. When they did it wasn’t until I poured in my tonic water I realised it wasn’t the drink I ordered. So finally got hold of the waitress who took another 5 minutes to find out, then bought us 2 bottles of the correct tonic. I explained that I couldn’t do anything with it as I’d already put in the wrong tonic they gave so she asked if I’d like to have them changed! Silly question when I’d already explained they was wrong. So she took our drinks away. Waited at least ten minutes for her to return with two very simple gin and tonics! The starters took what seemed like an age to come out. Not once did any of the staff come and ask if everything was ok with our food.Waited what seemed like an age again for the main! By then we was both extremely fed up. The table next to us was moaning between themselves too so seemed it wasn’t just us. Food came out and it was ok. Really the prices they charge for mediocre food is a joke! They took the two drinks off our bill. When we arrived here the table behind was complaining, we should of left then! Never will I return here. Customer service is shocking! Not welcoming at all and seems like too much trouble. No service with a smile either

Visited here as a large group (8people) we had already prebooked. The pub was generally busy but nothing more than you would expect for a Sunday.

Oh dear, myself and three friends visited The Green Man, Middleton for Sunday lunch to celebrate a 70th birthday. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived and I thought this was a good sign!!! It took a while for the young waitress to take our order, but it didnt matter as we were busy chatting. However the meal itself was very disappointing........it was barely warm, verging on the cold side, a very large yorkshire pudding disguised the fact there was hardly any vegetables... 2 carrots, 1 very small parsnip and a teaspoon of cabbage and the beef was extremely tough and impossible to cut let alone chew! We had to ask the server several times for the sauces we had requested when ordering our food. Three desserts were OKish.... the fourth was poor value for money one strawberry cut into four with a dollop of frozen yoghurt....All four of us found the meal very poor quality. We did complain to the waitress who said she would pass on our complaints to the chef, however we had no feedback whatsover and was presented with the bill. Eventually a reduction was made but a 70th birthday celebration was ruined. Will not return which is a shame as the restaurant itself is very cosy and in a nice position in the village

Booked a meal here on Saturday evening. We stood at the bar waiting to order drinks when we were told to sit at the table & someone would come and take our drinks order. We waited about 15 minutes before someone took our drinks order, we then waited a further half hour before our drinks were served after complaining to the Manager - we even had to take them from the bar ourselves.

Visited today for first time.Pork belly dish awful. Dauphinoise potatoes were over salted and the butternut squash and almond puree was unpleasant.It arrived with scallops even though my wife had specifically declined them. The whole dish was overpriced. The gammon dish was typical pub grub. Definitely won't be back !

Received an email regarding their new Cosy Couples menu. Used the on-line booking facility to reserve a table, only took a couple of minutes and received a text message 2 hours before our reservation to remind us.

We have had many excellent meals at the Green Man. Dave and Claire have been the very best in many years. Very sorry to hear they have gone. We can only hope the new management will step up. The chef and kitchen staff are still serving exceptional food

Visited for lunch today - food was lovely sadly the front of house staff were very hung over and the language of 'locals' at the bar appalling! Service was shocking, no cutlery until after starters served, ordered 2nd round of drink, although I stood at the bar and waited for them the hung over bar maid 'forgot' them and as a plus 'forgot' to charge us too! Such a shame, 1st visit in a long time but won't be going back.

First of all, a bit of background on myself. I’m a mid 20’s Male, who has worked in the restaurant trade for most of my life, with a restaurant management diploma and a current role as a restaurant supervisor down south. I am not someone who usually leaves reviews on here, but I had to on this occasion.

We have been here a number of times but must admit we visited at the weekend and the whole party was disappointed.

After previously visiting the green man in my youth I was really looking forward to a lovely meal.

So, it’s the eve of Valentine’s Day and we’ve realised we’re child free for the most romantic day of the year and we checked online for somewhere nice to eat and came across this place. A little far out but still the website looked nice and at this short notice we didn’t have much choice.

My husband, young daughter and I visited the Green Man in Middleton Tamworth for lunch on Valentines Day. It was not busy only a few tables in. The service was slow and we only ordered main meals and puddings and after being told that they ‘hadnt got any dauphinoise potatoes yet’ I ordered mash instead. It took 25 minutes for our food to come whilst other tables who came in after us were served their starters before us. My 18 month old daughters fish goujons were greasy and my husbands chips were the same. We then waited nearly 15 minutes for our puddings and by this time there were only 3 tables in. Very disappointed and will not be going again.

Went for lunch and yet again poor attitude and even worse sold out of most dishes and that was with hardly any customer's in!

We visited this pub last Tuesday to celebrate my Mom’s birthday. I am a long standing vegetarian and was keen to try something off the vegan menu as I get a bit fed up of vegetarian pub meals being swamped in cheese or having to put up with Goats cheese which I loath and detest. Not disappointed. I have a Gourmet Card which I was grateful for, as I did feel the prices were a bit on the high side. Having said that, the food was really well cooked and prepared and presented nicely. The single glass 250ml of wine is extortionate at £8.35 per glass. We ordered a side portion of chips and these were very over cooked. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and there was a lovely welcoming fire in the grate.

I love this pub chain but was very disappointed with the service and quality, it took ages to get the over priced drinks and the food was average to say the least... nowhere near as good as the others...

We have eaten here before and always enjoyed the experience. We brought friends with us and we were all disappointed with the food. The fried cod was quite greasy and the chips were unpleasant and not as described. This was not helped by the pureed peas that were lukewarm on arrival. Two of the knives on our table had dried food on them and the table hadn't been cleaned properly. We have always really liked this pub so we are disappointed and will be reluctant to take any more guests there.There are many other places where the food is better.

We visited the Green Man for lunch with the family as we had seen that they were advertising a vegan menu, None of us were vegans but we took the opportunity to try what was on offer. It had been many years since we last visited this pub having had a poor meal last time. The menu was only small but more than adequate. We went for the meze starter which was beautiful and tasty. For the main course we either had the burger or the avocado and pepper sandwich. We had a choice of a side salad or chips. Both mains were very tasty. Our grandson had his usual fish and chips which he dispatched with his usual efficioency. The pub is in the old style and very pleasant. They usually have three real ales although on our visit one was not available. There is a large outside seating area but it was too cold for this. The staff were pleasant and the pub was about a third full. We didn't explore the main menu as the sole purpose was to try the vegan food which turned out to be very tasty and worth the visit. Will try the pub again.

We came for lunch at the Green Man as a friend had pointed out that they had a vegan menu. The menu looked great online and we were not disappointed.

We had a lovely lunch but not a great choice for young boy. He had the burger (from the adult menu since there was no kids option) and it was too spicy.

As we do very frequently, we decided to go for lunch at the Green Man.

Recently dined here with friends and our children. They have a lovely menu and cater for children too!! Friendly staff and the beautiful log fire sets for a cosy experience indeed!!!

Visited the pub for lunch on Monday. Always treated this venue as something special, but no more. We were a party of three who ordered 3 gammon, egg, honey roasted pineapple and twice cooked chunky chips. They’d run out of pineapple and twice cooked chunky chips so settled for no pineapple and just fries. Two of the gammons should never have been sent out. Over cooked, tough and fatty. Didn’t want to cause a fuss as sad circumstances brought us together. Party next to us sent their food back. The chef knows what he’s sending out so should know better. Plenty of better places around Tamworth and cheaper.

Visited last night as a party of 8 plus a baby. Most people were happy with their meals but my rib of beef was very poor. Overcooked and chewy and a lot of rib bone and very little meat. Only had this as they had run out of pork belly. Service was good and it is reasonably priced. Biggest complaint was that it was snowing outside and at one point the heating went off and it was only turned back on when I asked for it to be done as three of us were very cold. Why would you turn of the heating in January when it is snowing outside?. Looking at other recent reviews it does seem to be going down hill a little.

5 of us went for lunch today. The main meal was good. but I expected to get salad or chips with mine all I had was a roasted butternut squash and beetroot pie, nothing else. One of my friends had the sticky chicken which came with a handful of french fries. Would not have filled a child let alone an adult. Two of us had the Bramley apple ? and blackberry shortbread crumble. It was dreadful . Like watery sweet jam, where was the apple? Hardly any crumble and a very very small jug of custard that did not even cover a quarter of the crumble. Needless to say we did not eat it all. When the waitress asked if the dessert was ok there was a very shocked look on her face when I answered no. But we did not get an apology or anything else. The service was dreadful as well, Although there were only a handful of tables taken we waited for nearly an hour for the main meal and too long for the sweet. The waitress was polite and did her best as she was the only one serving. A very different experience to the last time I went. Will think twice before going again

We visited The Green Man after a walk around Middleton Lakes, for my partner's birthday. She had visited it years before and had good memories of the place. Sadly this time we were to be disappointed in just about every respect.

Having been to the Green Man many times, of late this once great pub seems to be taking a dive.
