Needs a good clean Friendly service

Greeted promptly & seated quickly, the food was lovely, typical traditional pub meals which was cooked well & was tasty & hot. Sunday Lunch was fantastic value, lovely & freshly cooked food, can't wait to go back & try another choice of meal

Food great VFM and staff were amazing, rooms were dated and in need of an overhaul.

Didn't use the rooms, but the bar, although a little dated, is good, and food is amazing. Great portions and enough to fill me up for the day. Staff are great and it's well worth a visit for a meal. We had the pleasure of 100 visiting Cardiff fans who stopped by on their way home from Rotherham, and they were funny and also had a great laugh.

Me and my partner visited the pub restaurant earlier today for bank holiday lunch After a cold welcoming and service we were finally given our food, my partner ordered the lasagne and I ordered the hunters chicken. My girlfriends lasagne sheets were half cooked and the meat was suspect also. After I bit into my meal the chicken was still in its jelly like raw form with a thin top layer of white around the whole breast, it had been cooked in the oven in the bbq sauce for a matter of minutes. The waitress immediately took the plate from me and through the food in the bin and when I asked for her to search the bin so I could take a photo she “couldn’t not locate it in the bin” while attempting to con me by rubbing tissue on her hands to act like she’d looked. We were offered a “total refund of both meals and drinks (even tho we hadn’t paid yet) “ After I sat back down with my girlfriend as she attempted to eat hers I was not offered the option to order anything else or even an apology. Never visit again, 4 tables taken on a sunny bank holiday Monday out of the whole restaurant ? We know why now Also asked for the chef and he just hide in the back very professional

Staff were absolutely lovely and the food was perfect! Atmosphere wasn’t the best, but that isn’t something they can control so it wasn’t a problem. Would deffo recommend if you are looking for tasty food and great service!

First visit here,food was excellent.

I went to the George & Dragon last night for the first time for a family meal. The atmosphere was really nice, rooms were neat and had a nice decor and the staff were very friendly & polite. I went with the 10oz steak with peas and chips and it was very delicious. They also had nice brands of cider. All in all I very strongly recommend the George if you're looking for a nice meal or a few drinks in Coleshill.

Lovely little pub. Great friendly service. Room was what you would expect from converted pub. Easily would stay again.

Excellent place. We stayed for one night prior to our holiday & left our car with them for just over 2 weeks. The rooms were adequate, with ensuite and clean. We ate in the pub also and the food was brilliant. We will definitely use them again.

Stayed at the George and Dragon during a trip to the NEC. Really good value for money. Excellent full English breakfast included in the price. Good selection of food and drink available in the restaurant. Can recommend the Lamb Chops.

Nice little venue at the top of hight street

Old bald man is too moody for my liking proper ruined mine and the mrs night. i’ll be back for a ufc match with him. oh and your room smells

Food has not changed over the years I’ve been going here for 10+ years, big portion sizes, great quality food and the best thing is it’s consistently good. Visited again recently (December 23) and had the beef stew and it was so so nice!! I must say the beef selection is good for the size of the pub as well!

Didn't stay at the George and Dragon, only coming for the Xmas meal (including last December too) but only having vegetable lasagna with salad as the veggie option was a bit of a disappointment. I opted for the fish, chips and peas as I did last year which was pretty good but I see the photos of other food served looking much better! Prefer a veggie curry or nut roast but I'm not sure I want to travel the mileage to do it again..

The pub itself is nice. The breakfast we had was lovely. The service there was very good. The room we booked needs a bit of TLC There was a large unframed mirror dangerously propped up against the wall where it had seemed to have fallen off its fixtures. The bed was low to the floor and uncomfortable. Although the windows were doubleglazed, they were very draughty . There were a lot of electric extension cables plugged around the room. The kettle seemed to have a mind of its own. The hot water in the shower wasn't very hot. Plus, there is no shower gel or soap provided. The shower tray kept flooding, and the dirty waste water from the sink was coming up the plug hole in the shower tray plug.

I have been passing this pub for years and finally went in to eat, I was not disappointed. The food was excellent, along with a pint of neck oil. Friendly staff and fast service. I shall be returning. 👍🏼

Great place to have Sunday lunch.

Together with my family 25we went on the 8th October to celebrate an 80th birthday. Congrats to the chef! Delicious food served in a timely manor. Well done

Stayed many times . However the rooms are tired now , and beds need new mattresses.....lovely people and a great brecky ....

We managed to get a family room and it was lovely and spacious with a good view. It's really hot and so we were very glad to be able to open both sides of the window. The breakfast was amazing. There were cereals and juices on the bar but you could get a full English, cooked to order. We had dinner in the restaurant and the chef actually came out to hear our thoughts on the minted lamb chops. I've never had such a big piece of lamb before. Parking was free and plentiful. There was a lot of outdoor seating, which is great when the weather is hot. The pub has a lot of old features. I especially like the wooden fireplace in the dining area, which was hidden away behind boards and only discovered when they added the high ceilinged conservatory. It's 10 mins away from the NEC and very easy to find, which was great for us.

Enjoyable place to meet for a drink and food

I have eaten here the past 15 years and without fail it is by far the nicest steak I have. It's cooked to my perfection, not fatty, lovely cuts of steak. The chips, sides and sauces are just as nice, the curry sauce is my favourite. The price is very fair for the meal you get, it a decent size portion, I always leave feeling fulfilled and happy. I am a big steak fan and personally rate this over Miller and Carter and more named established restaurants. It has a nice beer garden and staff are friendly enough. I highly recommend trying here, they have a great menu if steak isn't your thing, the fish and chips is a great dish too. I have taken many friends and colleagues here and they equally enjoy it as much as I do and not all have ordered the steak and have tried other dishes.

Okay at best. There was a time we used to go here every Saturday lunchtime for a value for money 2 course lunch. Standards started to drop some time back and we've not been for a few years. We went there tonight and things are sadly worse still. The food was okay at best and quite pricey now too. The place is filthy and in dire need of maintenance everywhere. The carpet is sticky and chairs are threadbare. Its such a shame to see it as it is now. It was however quite busy so hopefully a refurbishment will be on the way ???

Delicious food, comfortable room and lovely a d helpful staff

First time visiting, went with my Hubby for our 5th wedding anniversary. The food was beautiful and served quicker than expected. Will be returning

Breakfast very good and the rooms were very clean

Nice place, staff were friendly and helpful, prices are reasonable for the food and drinks. Not a lot of vegetarian food so I had to ask to substitute meat for extra sides. Which they did so I was happy about this but maybe more non meat mains would be nice.

Had a great stay here whilst visiting the NEC this weekend, had a lovely meal on the Friday evening then breakfast on the Saturday morning, both were freshly cooked and very tasty. All yhe staff we cane across were very friendly and helpful. The only bit I would day to make this experience even better would be to update all yhe rooms as looking very tried , this did not affect our stay at all though. Would highly recommend and will stay again when next back in the area

Great pub, great food and great beer

Welcome by staff with a smile..Food and drinks ordered and served at the table .. Love my steak in red wine gray..whole meal was delicious hot and tasty. Gamon was so big thick and cooked perfectly, 😋😋and so was the Chips 😋 Busy inside and outdoors as small beer garden. Car park at rear.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Food in my opinion was just average. Nothing really special, although the steak was cooked really good. Was a generous portion of everything though

Best pub grub we've had in years.4 of us eat here today. Fish &chips, minted lamb chops, lasagna and tandoori & steak combo. Excellent quality, huge portions and great beer & wine. I'd like to say thank you to Simon and his great staffing team your service was excellent. Will will definitely be returning

Excellent choice of beers, food was delicious especially the fish and chips. The rooms are of a good standard, plus the breakfast was brilliant. Would recommend to anyone.

Could not get in all doors locked people in side drinking notice on door said open at 3pm in summer this was 1 30 in the afternoon not a pub anymore more hotel will not go to again

We went for food last night myself husband and two teenage daughter. The food was amazing. The food all came out piping hot ..which is rare else where . Love my food HOT. The portion size was plentiful. Definitely will be returning.

Quite a tired building but our room, though small, was lovely. No complaints. Food, typical pub food. It was fine. Service good. Breakfast was excellent. It was fine to stay for a couple of nights whilst visiting NEC. Woukd stay again.

Staff very friendly, room was very run down ,bed extremely uncomfortable, damp patches on ceiling, carpet marked,bathroom drains very smelly leaking into bedroom which was very unpleasant, breakfast was very good.Not worth the £80.00 we paid

The Sunday roast was one of the best I've had , gravy and suffering to die for . Proper home cooking , shame the ambience doesn't match the food . My table needed a quick wipe i politely asked one of the waitresses, so she handed me a wet cloth to do it myself. Also carpark full of pot holes be careful especially in the dark . That been said I would return for the Sunday roasts and I would urge you all too

We went for a evening dinner the place was clean and tidy the staff were very attentive the food was very good the drinks were good in all a great time

Evening food was lovely, bed and breakfast was adequate, we stayed in a large space with 3 single beds, the slanted roof made sitting on the bed a little uncomfortable as there were no other areas to sit only on the beds. The TV was a little small for the size of the room it was in and only the middle bed had a decent viewing position. Breakfast was again adequate, but for a group of people who don't usually eat a lot of grease was rather greasy for us all, if I visit again I will probably opt for toast and cereal. Beds were clean and fairly comfortable, but as a pub I really rate the establishment, the atmosphere was nice, welcoming and clean

Food was absolutely vile waited 1 hour 30 mins for a mixed grill which was absolute filth steak looks like a dogs tongue the manager was so rude and abrupt for no reason when I spoke to him he said what do you want me to do about it absolutely appalling .will never ever go back there again and good luck to anyone who does .disgusting I wouldn’t advise anyone to eat there even if your desperate .

Beer pricey & staff weren't that friendly

Came across this place as searching for somewhere that did lunch. It was quite late, bordering mid afternoon, but they welcomed us in and had an enjoyable meal. I can imagine the beer garden is busy on a sunny day.

Very good steak shame they stopped doing new potatoes with it tho.

Booked a room as good price and close to Birmingham Airport. Food is available and seemed busy and popular but wife wanted to try a nearby restaurant. Staff were nice and friendly. This is an old public house but room had everything needed. We will use again for the future 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Food was lovely and staff were very friendly. Toilets were clean but toilet area itself had no adequate washing facilities and the dryer qas broken. They did leave out a bottle of hand gel. Only other thing which I hate are sticky tables after they've been wiped. The food there was nice and a very good portion given. Also quite reasonably priced. I would go again but probably take some wipes.

Staying the night. No real ale but the moretii is going down nicely. It's great to find a pub with a snug and a restaurant. Room is ok and I want to take the round, stained glass, window home with me.

Perfect place to stay for the NEC. The loveliest staff ever. Both in the bar on an evening and the lovely lady at breakfast. Top food too. We will be back for sure.

Not been in for a good while and I remember why, the whole place looks dated in bad need of redecoration, it's a shame used too be a nice place

We stayed the night after visiting the camping show at the NEC. Massive car park. Had a great meal, served by a very attentive and friendly waitress. Good service at the bar and a friendly crowd in to watch the rugby. Had a warm comfortable night and the breakfast was amazing. Again, friendly helpful service. Would def recommend and visit again.

Prices for drinks used to be competitive for a bog standard pub and eaterie. The prices for drinks are now astronomical. The prices are way too high for this kind of pub.

Took the missus and mother for a meal yesterday. The food was very nice but unfortunately slightly let down by the customer service skills they don't have a smile and a welcome wouldn't go a miss as well as asking how was the food. Food almost went to the wrong table. Still operating table service not sure why waited around 5 minutes for a drink wasn't no one around to order so I pressed the bell myself and like magic someone popped up. Cob webs on the lamp on the wall which was above our table. Other then that drinks went down a treat and the food was very nice.
