We stopped here for a drink, sat at the pub area. It was clean, restroom was clean and service was quick. Friendly, polite staff.

I came to the pub and there was a lovely cozy atmosphere! Staff were all friendly, specially Tom and Jeanette, and food was great!

The service was excellent, we where given a table for two people but there was a draft blowing down the side of us, we asked the server if there was a chance of moving us to a other table, at the the time there wasn't but he came back a few minutes later and moved us to a different table. The food was very good and quickly delivered all the servers were very polite and helpful, will definitely be going back soon, it was a very pleasant evening thank you 😊

Had a really nice first visit here, and was served by a lady called Emma. She was a bubbly and smiley person, made us feel very welcome as we aren’t very local. Food was really nice and came to our table quite quickly, Children enjoyed the play area outside too which was a bonus! Highly recommend

Very cold in the restaurant, foreign object found in a meal, they deducted the price of the meal but we will not be returning.

Warm and inviting hearty village pub. Christmas decorations are wonderful and always service with a smile. Food was hot and delicious as always . Thank you for a great evening we will be back.

As "out of towners", it was a real pleasure to eat here, and to enjoy our evening in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The food was great value and really tasty - specifically the Cheddar,Leek and Potato pie...and the Veg-Thai curry. Topping all that was the top tier service from Sarah, Daisy and the nice blonde lady.... it is this wonderful level of service that we'll remember. Special mention to Sarah, though... a credit to Marston's, and the hospitality industry itself. Brava 👏👏💙xx

Fantastic staff, very friendly and helpful to us and our 2 month old baby. Busy enough that it had a nice atmosphere but not too busy, just what we needed on a long drive home

Clean establishment with excellent food and staff

We came down for the Halloween evening. The atmosphere was brilliant! The pub was filled and it was so enjoyable to see the place lively again. Josh did an amazing job decorating and planning the event. All the staff, daisy, Jeanette, Tom did an exceptionally good job throughout the night! A big well done to all!

Love the layout and atmosphere here. It was a Sunday and the roast was lovely, and reasonably priced. I also like the child's option. All the staff were polite and efficient. Fabulous views and outside area.

Went here on October 20th 2024. Booked a table for 7 the day before for family Sunday roast meal. The teenagers played pool whilst waiting for our meal, which was tasty and hot. Very pleased with the service value and quality of food once again. We look forward to visiting again. Thank you.

The food was delicious and our waitress Sarah was fantastic. We had very little wait for our food and drinks and the staff were obviously very happy to be there. I can recommend the mixed grill and my mate gives a big thumbs up to the steak and ale pie.

Came up for a Sunday lunch and it was pretty good! It was quite busy but the staff made sure we knew the wait times and it wasn't a problem. Will be back again soon!

First time here for over 5 years will be coming back my only criticism would be our chips was bit over cooked hard crispy tables clean but sticky

Booked table for 2.30pm. When we arrived we were told there was a 45minute wait. We waited 1hour 20 minutes for our food to arrive. When the food arrived it was shocking. We had roast dinners and the roast potatoes were clearly very old, dry and reheated. We wouldn't have minded waiting if the food came out fresh but it all tasted like it had been sat there all day. Some of us paid £2 extra for additional meat yet had a very small amount. £15.99 for an old meal that noone could eat is shocking.

It’s always a pleasure to have lunch at the Wolferstan Arms. The food is consistently good at a decent price. You’re made to feel welcomed and the staff go out of their way to make the customer feel relaxed and ‘at home’. On this occasion, I feel I must mention both Claire and Elaine who are first-class ‘ambassadors’ for Marstons pubs. Nothing is too much trouble and their knowledge of the food and drink on offer is exceptional.

Visited here on a regular basis all the staff very welcoming and friendly, big shout out to lovely Claire who's always friendly and efficient. Good range of drinks and food. Still visiting here, the welcome is just as warm and friend as ever.

Came here with my friend as we’d not been for a couple of years as it had gone downhill. The promise of a new head chef gave us the hope it would be improved. It wasn’t. We ordered two mains. Mine was missing 3 of the accompaniments mentioned on the menu so server took plate back to kitchen and came back after a couple of mins with only the peas added. Still missed 2 items mentioned on the menu so she went back again and she came back with a load of cobblers about ‘we are a chain but that’s the way we do it here but all the menus have to say the same’! So, you promise something on a menu, but don’t put it on the plate? That’s false advertising! My friend had a mixed grill with cold gammon and leathery steak so that went back and came back just as inedible. By the times our plates were back with us, the meals were cold. Complained to the server who seemed nervous but kept saying, I know it’s not your fault, can we speak to a manager but we were kept waiting for the manager who either seemed to be the scarlet pimpernel or is unapproachable and the server didn’t want to fetch them. The lady at the bar was moody and snappy too. We shall continue to eat elsewhere. Shame as the setting of the pub is gorgeous and it could be so much better but chef lets it down.

As I arrived I was greeted by a wonderful member of staff Lesley,I was seated down and within a few minutes I’d had my order taken by another lovely member of staff Emma!the food service was amazing i had received my food within 15 minutes and it was lovely. I’ll be revisiting soon thank you to the amazing staff they deserve a raise.

Me and my spouse arrived at around 12 o’clock and were greeted by Lesley,she was a lovely server and sat us down at our table.After being seated we walked up to the bar and put our order in for a chicken club sandwich with a Pepsi max.Within 15 minutes we had our food in front of us,the food was lovely and the drink was refreshing.We later left and got a genuine goodbye from Lesley.This pub is lovely please send my thanks to Lesley.

Had a wonderful Sunday dinner today. The veg was fab as we hate veg that’s too soft and this meal had it cooked perfectly. The beef was tender just how it should be. Had a side of cauliflower cheese too. Despite being full we couldn’t resist pudding and we had sundae and crumble and cheese cake. It was a lovely family treat from cooking and thank you to Claire and Daisy for looking after us and to the chefs in the kitchen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟

Celebrating husband’s birthday, we enjoyed the quiet surroundings; it had been some years since our last visit and lots of improvements had been carried out. Our meals were delicious, and the service given by Daisy was attentive without being intrusive.

Lovely very clean and modern decor, warm friendly atmosphere The staff are welcoming a real asset. It was a pleasure to see them engaged with customers and busy doing their job with a genuine smile. Ran out of a food, everything we ordered there was so.ething missing. The cheesy chips had been changed to friend and cheese sauce on them not cheese.. there were no meats available. Steak and pr chicken , or anything I ordered so I did.not eat.. the slightly more mature lady with short hair was disgustingly rude to myself when ordering and huffed after cheese sauce not cheese was on my cmdaughtes chips , no fries... its a disgrace and my daughter did not even eat more that 2 fries.. yet paying the price we had to I was not allowed a refund due to false and disgusting food.

Greatly improved since our last visit. Food was excellent as were the friendly, efficient staff. It was lovely to find something smaller for lunch which didn't cost a fortune. We will definitely be back.

Cold mains then I had to ask for the sauces we ordered to accompany them (nearly finished) by the time we received. No second bottle of Pinot available, no sticky toffee pudding (not communicated), coffee machine broken so couldn't offer a coffee??? Two deserts delivered to a table that hadn't been cleared, if everyone would have had a desert there wouldn't have been enough room on the table toceat them.

AWFUL!!!!! The atmosphere was horrible and the worse thing is I ordered a pie and it was FROZEN inside. Disgusting the chefs need to learn how to cook food

I have never had a better Steak, cooked to perfection and melt in the mouth, the chips were super crispy with a fluffy centre. Staff very efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Will definately go back

Came here to work and use the ‘pub desk’ facility. Really friendly staff (who can’t do enough for you) nice quiet area to work and great quality for £10! Access to WiFi, plug sockets and parking is available. Would definitely recommend!

Staff are very accommodating, if they can help you they will, service with a smile too. The view over the countryside is lovely, and the place itself has loads of character. We will surely return!

They hardly had any food on the menu, no steak, no mix grills, hash browns changed for waffles, not great.

Friendly welcome, helpfully directed towards the dog friendly area, quick service with good food. We were really well looked after. We were really well looked after by the team (including Liam, Daisy, Emily and Claire). Hash browns in a chicken burger is also an absolute game-changer! So good we went back the next day for tea again.

Booked a table of 8 at 6pm We’ve been to the Wolferstan arms before mainly for special occasions. We visited on the 26th August which I booked a table 3 days prior to coming, it was for my mom’s 70th birthday. On arrival there was no one to greet us as there use to be, I had to go round to the bar to find someone to say we was there and also had booked a table. We was just told our table was round by the front door. There was no customer service showing us to our table I was also told there’s no steaks, mix grills, steak pies, chicken kebabs, as it’s been a busy weekend and we’ve nothing left. Having Worked in the industry myself you always expect to be busy at bank holidays and always order more. Also make sure there’s an order in for the Monday for extra food. Any way we all managed to find something we wanted to eat, my husband went to order up at the bar which last time we had a waitress take our order so when he came back I said you haven’t paid yet as I’ve got childrens voucher. But he’d already paid. He did go back up and ask if they could put the vouchers thru, but he was told it’s too late and wasn’t very helpful at all. My fault really for thinking they would do a tab for us as normally we would have puddings after our dinner and more drinks. Sadley not on this occasion, the food was “ok” the fish batter tasted like Yorkshire pudding batter, chips were little skinny fries which I would normally give to children, we was asked if our food was ok when they was picking the plates up, nothing that could really be done at that time. Should Be asked during the meal. Not sure if the management has changed since March as our last visit was lovely, food was hot and tastey service fantastic. But unfortunately not this occasion. I shall definitely be looking for somewhere else to go on our next meal out.

Fantastic service from all staff on our visit, they were welcoming, helpful, polite and communicated well. Although a couple of items were unavailable on the menu staff were helpful with finding alternatives. When my dad had to rechoose his pudding the chef even went to the trouble of surprising him with a happy birthday plate and the staff even sung too, it was a lovely touch and a surprise to us all. The food was lovely, cooked to perfection and portions plentiful. We have always enjoyed our visits here it's great value for money, great setting and fantastic staff! We will be back again. Hadn’t been here for a good few years, since it was a 2 for 1 pub. Thought we’d give it a try. I wish we hadn’t! There were items missing off our plates that were listed on the menu and the food was either cold or burnt to a crisp. I complained and both plates were taken back to the kitchen but when brought out, there were still items missing and things that were hot before were now cold as they didn’t redo the whole plate. So we had fresh chips which had been cold but the meat was now cold. We didn’t bother complaining again due to the time it had taken to get these plates back and the fact we had to pick up our son from work at 9pm. Definitely won’t be back here again. It’s a shame as it’s in a beautiful location, but the chef is awful. I spoke to my neighbour the following day and she said she’d been and the food was dreadful too so it’s not a one off thing.

Lovely pub run by a great team. Friendly, inviting and lovely place to be. And the quiz is a great excuse to get out the house for an evening.

My lasagne was cold in the middle, not much left on the menu either. Was very quiet but staff are friendly and helpful.

We've just visited for the first time and unfortunately it wasn't a pleasant visit. Other than the guy showing us to our seat, the rest of the staff seemed miserable and not welcoming. The Sunday roast was awful and wasn't warm. Tasted like it had been standing there ages and over cooked and mist of it was inedible. Partner asked for a half roast chicken and got a chicken breast. Waste of £45 Edited Your response to say we were informed of the chicken breast isn't true, We were not informed at all. The people next to us who were served at the same time got a half chicken roast. We originally asked for beef which we were informed there wasn't any left which was fine but we were not informed about the chicken breast. Regardless, the rest wasn't wasn't even satisfactory

Visited with my friend and we both had the kebab and fries. This was doner meat or chicken on a flat bread with salad and fries (we had one of each) the fries were rock hard and you could snap them and the meat portions were measly the doner meat you could barely fit in the bottom of a tea cup.. they were like burnt shavings and I had to use them sparingly with the flat bread and salad. Can’t fault the staff they did change the chips but I was disappointed to be honest with the portion size of the meat and probably won’t return in a hurry.

First visit to this pub, friendly and attentive staff, great atmosphere and lovely well presented food. All in all a smashing lunchtime visit.

The meal took over an hour to be served No waitress service now , going onto order at the bar . The chicken was dry the fries were to crispy . No knifes or forks on tables had to help our selves . Fish and chips were nice burgers were good . But we have had better service here before so very disappointed.

Popped in for a beer on way home.... Unfortunately no cask ale on offer.... again.... Staff as usual excellent, but what used to be an excellent local still not back to where it used to be...can only try so many times before giving up

Came here on Sunday 18th August to celebrate my nieces 18th birthday. The food was fab and the service was even better. Nothing was too much trouble and my niece had a great time. Thank you to Liam, Claire, Danie and Emily.

Been here a few times in the past few weeks. The staff are friendly and the food is good. It's a Marstons pub so the standard is as expected. As its on a hill there's a decent view from the rear garden too!

Was a quiet afternoon, doing the rounds visiting relations, called for a couple of pints of Guiness. Will go again when back on the mainland.

Have a bigger gluten-free menu than what is shown online, and surprisingly, it was tasty even though most gluten-free foods aren't. Kids loved the park and wouldn't eat so they could play. Food was hot, quick to arrive, and tasty.

The lunch menu is not value for money as it was really small for what you pay. It's a shame the 2 for 1 offer went too. The vegetable chilli and chips was like a kid's portion size.

Had my daughter’s 16th birthday meal here reserved a table for 8 today and I cannot recommend here enough. The staff are extremely helpful and polite. Service was fast, food came out hot and each meal accommodated to as requested, good value for money and absolutely delicious!!! Small park for my youngest daughter to play on, plenty of seating areas. The staff brought out my daughters cake and sang happy birthday. Will 1000% be returning here. Thankyou to each and every member of staff for such an enjoyable dining experience.
