Terrible food. Not as good as it was over a year ago.

Would just like to thank all the staff for looking after us on the 22nd March for my mother's 90th birthday. Thank you.

Excellent steak in a lovely pub with amazing views of the countryside. They allow dogs in the bar area of the pub and in the beer garden. An excellent full gluten free menu replicating the main menu. A lovely experience- friendly staff, well cooked food at excellent prices, New Zealand wine, great views - we will definitely be back.

Yep Nice Family pub bring the kids value food and drink been a few times plenty of choice on the menu..want break the bank. garden and plenty of parking.

We had a spontaneous meal on Friday night, no problem, very friendly, brilliant service and superb food, well done.

I booked the wolferstan arms for our Mother’s Day meal and I’m so glad I did. All the staff were friendly, the food was really tasty and filling and great value for money. I will be happy to book here for future meals.

Always a good service at Marstons

Waited 1 hour 15 minutes for cold food, been here before but never again, food looked like it had been sitting on the side all day before it was served.

Recently moved into the area. Have visited the Wolferstan Arms for drinks previously but on this occasion had a meal. Nice menu variety and decent portion sizes for the prices. Generally nice environment and staff were friendly. Would visit again.

We had the idea to have a lunch as we'd had a busy week. We like the views from the Wolferston pub over Shuttington. Our meals were served promptly, and were delicious, perfect even. In addition to the quality of the service from friendly staff, we had a 30 percent discount on our mains, so time for one more drink. We had a lovely time, thank you!

The service was great, we had reserved but we were also offered alternative tables if we wanted them. The food was lovely, lots of choice and it came pretty quickly. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Another nice meal here good value decent service, what would finish it off would be lighting the fires 🔥 both for ambience, the smell of wood burning and the atmosphere of a crackling fire. It was lovely and warm but the fires would have made a massive atmospheric improvement!

Went there for a quick bite today. Fantastic views from the garden and the food was delicious, would highly recommend.

Visited last night. Table was booked for 6.30pm. We stood about for quite a while and eventually someone showed us to,our table. The table was sticky. We were told to order at the bar which was chaos. Once we ordered we were informed the meal would be 30 minutes to come which we felt was okay but as we were walking away we’re told it would be 45 minutes. The meals came about an hour after we ordered Food was okay. Nothing to shout about though As we were leaving I noticed how dirty the carpet was also none of the empty tables around us had been cleared

I came here with my wife and granddaughter, The food was outstanding the portions were bigger than expected which is great. The service was fast and the staff were welcoming. I highly recommend.

The worst food we have had at the Wolfaston arms, cold Starter, cold mains or at least half of the plates had been prepared before hand then a warm pie/sausage/ fish was added.

We come to the Wolverstan because of a few reasons. The warm welcome, they staff make sure we have the correct order and are happy. I am coeliac and have been here maybe 10times and have never felt like my request for GF is ever a problem and I never feel ostrasised when ths food comes out, unlike other placss who tend to shout "whos is this GF?" Its embarrasing but never had this at Wolverstan. Big thumbs up from me

Nice place in beautiful surroundings but website says 9PM food finishes. We got there & was before this time. Had to have desserts that were vile!! Maybe I should have gone half hour earlier but it was a last minute decision to go out.

Server Joshua was so helpful we came for my moms 80th birthday and he was helpful upon me requesting a cake to be brought out

Excellent service from Brad and Claire. We were a group of 10 adults with learning support needs. Brad and Claire were patient, kind and had time for each person to be independent in their orders. It made each person feel as an equal citizen - thank you. The food was great and although we all made independent orders, it came out together. We had two checks from them to make sure we were happy. Great service and well done for your customer service.

Had a roast dinner X2 husband had turkey (clearly didn't get enough at christmas) it was good.I had cauliflower tart it was ok rest of food was good. Staff brilliant. We had 2 starters 2 mains and 2 drinks £55

Went for wedding anniversary meal staff,brilliant both the meals all was over cooked could not cut the steak ,and the chicken was was like it had not been cooked sasages were hard in the middle.

Great pub, great food and atmosphere.

Up in Tamworth and they were able to accommodate a table of 9 at short notice. The staff were get very cheerful. Three of us had steak and it melted in the mouth. They had a great gluten free menu which pleased the wife Food was hot and came in good time. Would vist again.

Claire is one in a Million! She was receptive to my requests and helped me have an enjoyable experience! Great work Claire!

Just had some of the new menu items. Tasted great and look amazing. the picture is of the onion bahjis and they were very nice!!

Went for the new menu and had a few of the new items like the onion bahjis and the new changes to the soup with the croutons, which I think make it so much better. Our server liam was very knowledgeable surrounding the menu options and what things tasted like, etc. Daisy at the bar was very polite and was there to serve our drinks. Overall, it's great food, wonderful staff, and so will be coming back soon to try some more of the new menu! Also came for the quiz which was an added bonus, only 2 pound per person which wasn't too bad and we had a good laugh (even though we came last). Will be back soon!!

My wife and I had a very nice meal from the new menu at the Wolferstan Arms with the added bonus of a pub quiz afterwards which altogether made a very enjoyable evening. The service was excellent and the overall atmosphere was good.

We were invited to try the new menu at the Wolferstan Arms and the taster session did not disappoint. Our server, Liam, was extremely knowledgeable about the new menu items and helped us to choose our meals. The cauliflower wings starter was delicious which was followed by the surf & turf with beef dripping sauce and upgraded loaded fries with bbq pulled pork. Again, another tasty course and well cooked/served. Finally, I tried the dark chocolate & mint tart which was very good but unfortunately I was too full to finish the dessert. Thank you to Liam, Daisy and Ellise for looking after us and ensuring everything was perfect. A shout out to Josh, the chef for the evening, a huge improvement on the food last night. Will definitely recommend 👍🏼

Visited and tried new menu. Had a delicious steak with sauce. Service was excellent. Liam and Daisy looked after me well . Have recommended a visit to many friends.

New menu tasting for the The Wolverston The Wolferstan Arms New menu make over is looking good!!! I Was lucky to take on those new additions to the vibrant looking new menu here. After Liam expertly reeled off the new items which were new to this menu I had to choose them. Started with Onion Bhaji and a really cool sour cream and mint dip. Main course was apparently a favourite steak dish with a topper on from the old menu, but now served all together and will be known as Steak Americano - 8oz rump steak with mozzarella cheese bbq sauce and crisp bacon rashers. Upgraded my fries to chilli loaded which fab!!! and a good choice. Desert for me was the new addition Dark Chocolate and Mint tart. Very bittersweet taste and was refreshing. Service was topped with pride from both Daisy and Ellise. Also the Wainwrights bitter on traditional tap was pulled perfectly and had a light hop but crisp taste to it.

Waitress didn't explain there is a 40 min wait for food, we over heard the waiter telling someone who arrived after us. When our food arrived my partner had the fish and chips, there were hardly any chips on the plate. I ordered the steak and ale pie and substituted the chips for mash. When it arrived there was a child's size portion of mash and peas. I cut into my pie, took a bite and it was stone cold inside. Subsequently my food had to be sent back. By the time it arrived my daughter had finished her meal and my partner ¾ of the way through his. The waiter was apologetic and returned with a bowl of chips while I waited. He did give us a free dessert but it was still wasn't good delivering cold food. Would I return...probably not, which is a shame.

We used to love visiting here on our date nights but recently wait time for food seems to be very long yesterday was over an hour yes they did offer a complimentary drink but we had just ordered one and there were other tables having same issue as us aswell.

Ordered meal and drinks via website direct to table. Had to go and ask at the bar where our drinks were as they still hadn't arrived to table over 30 minutes later. meals were very small for the prices charged,

Traditional pub menu and food, arrived fairly quickly and low cost.

Great food at a good price and in a lovely location. Our particular waitresses were very friendly and accommodating. If I’m ever in This area again then I will definitely return.

Despite booking relatively late around Christmas we were found a table for five, and warned that service might take 40 minutes, as they were obviously busy. Our food actually arrived within 20 minutes. I had the BEST fish and chips I’ve had for years. The others in my party had the turkey roast and all enjoyed it. The plentiful staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our visit. We’d not been there before, but will definitely go back.

Chips OK Fish batter was awful dry and overcooked ..Partner's steak was OK o ion rings dry and overcooked..Not very good value wont bother again .....

We came for a festive set menu. This on other price standards for pub grub wasn't cheap. Very slow service, food dry. This is a nice looking pub but if you want to try it I would not recommend going over Christmas as rushed, poor service, not a happy experience.

Great place, lovely food, nice service

My friend and I called in at midday on a walk for a coffee. Being midweek, we were surprised that it was open and that a chef was working. Although we weren't there for a meal, the landlord was welcoming and the atmosphere was snug, with two fires burning!

I came to the pub and there was a lovely cozy atmosphere! Staff were all friendly, specially Tom and Jeanette, and food was great!

We stopped here for a drink, sat at the pub area. It was clean, restroom was clean and service was quick. Friendly, polite staff.

The service was excellent, we where given a table for two people but there was a draft blowing down the side of us, we asked the server if there was a chance of moving us to a other table, at the the time there wasn't but he came back a few minutes later and moved us to a different table. The food was very good and quickly delivered all the servers were very polite and helpful, will definitely be going back soon, it was a very pleasant evening thank you 😊

Went to the Wolferston on 2nd December with a friend, food was great, and staff were lovely

Had a really nice first visit here, and was served by a lady called Emma. She was a bubbly and smiley person, made us feel very welcome as we aren’t very local. Food was really nice and came to our table quite quickly, Children enjoyed the play area outside too which was a bonus! Highly recommend

Very cold in the restaurant, foreign object found in a meal, they deducted the price of the meal but we will not be returning.

Beautiful food, no faults. Particularly the burgers, they were unreal. Lovely, welcoming staff and food prices. Will definitely be returning soon.

Warm and inviting hearty village pub. Christmas decorations are wonderful and always service with a smile. Food was hot and delicious as always . Thank you for a great evening we will be back.

As "out of towners", it was a real pleasure to eat here, and to enjoy our evening in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The food was great value and really tasty - specifically the Cheddar,Leek and Potato pie...and the Veg-Thai curry. Topping all that was the top tier service from Sarah, Daisy and the nice blonde lady.... it is this wonderful level of service that we'll remember. Special mention to Sarah, though... a credit to Marston's, and the hospitality industry itself. Brava 👏👏💙xx

Fantastic staff, very friendly and helpful to us and our 2 month old baby. Busy enough that it had a nice atmosphere but not too busy, just what we needed on a long drive home

I went to the Wolverston Arms pub last night for a meal and it was beautiful and really good food 😋and service aswell.it is so much better again now inside there than before.was not very food to be honest😢.a big thank you to everyone for all your hard work and with excellent friendly service and a good welcome aswell.you did very well Sarah and Liam aswell.keep doing a great job and to the lovely bar man aswell because you did a great job aswell😁.see you all again soon🤗xx

We came down for the Halloween evening. The atmosphere was brilliant! The pub was filled and it was so enjoyable to see the place lively again. Josh did an amazing job decorating and planning the event. All the staff, daisy, Jeanette, Tom did an exceptionally good job throughout the night! A big well done to all!

Love the layout and atmosphere here. It was a Sunday and the roast was lovely, and reasonably priced. I also like the child's option. All the staff were polite and efficient. Fabulous views and outside area.

Big carpark to side and rear ,Big spacious pub , tables not to close together , loads of food to choose from was served quickly and hot , staff are polite and friendly. Will definitely be coming here again 👍

Went here on October 20th 2024. Booked a table for 7 the day before for family Sunday roast meal. The teenagers played pool whilst waiting for our meal, which was tasty and hot. Very pleased with the service value and quality of food once again. We look forward to visiting again. Thank you.

The food was delicious and our waitress Sarah was fantastic. We had very little wait for our food and drinks and the staff were obviously very happy to be there. I can recommend the mixed grill and my mate gives a big thumbs up to the steak and ale pie.

Came up for a Sunday lunch and it was pretty good! It was quite busy but the staff made sure we knew the wait times and it wasn't a problem. Will be back again soon!

Booked table for 2.30pm. When we arrived we were told there was a 45minute wait. We waited 1hour 20 minutes for our food to arrive. When the food arrived it was shocking. We had roast dinners and the roast potatoes were clearly very old, dry and reheated. We wouldn't have minded waiting if the food came out fresh but it all tasted like it had been sat there all day. Some of us paid £2 extra for additional meat yet had a very small amount. £15.99 for an old meal that noone could eat is shocking.

First time here for over 5 years will be coming back my only criticism would be our chips was bit over cooked hard crispy tables clean but sticky

It’s always a pleasure to have lunch at the Wolferstan Arms. The food is consistently good at a decent price. You’re made to feel welcomed and the staff go out of their way to make the customer feel relaxed and ‘at home’. On this occasion, I feel I must mention both Claire and Elaine who are first-class ‘ambassadors’ for Marstons pubs. Nothing is too much trouble and their knowledge of the food and drink on offer is exceptional.

Visited here on a regular basis all the staff very welcoming and friendly, big shout out to lovely Claire who's always friendly and efficient. Good range of drinks and food. Still visiting here, the welcome is just as warm and friend as ever.

Came here with my friend as we’d not been for a couple of years as it had gone downhill. The promise of a new head chef gave us the hope it would be improved. It wasn’t. We ordered two mains. Mine was missing 3 of the accompaniments mentioned on the menu so server took plate back to kitchen and came back after a couple of mins with only the peas added. Still missed 2 items mentioned on the menu so she went back again and she came back with a load of cobblers about ‘we are a chain but that’s the way we do it here but all the menus have to say the same’! So, you promise something on a menu, but don’t put it on the plate? That’s false advertising! My friend had a mixed grill with cold gammon and leathery steak so that went back and came back just as inedible. By the times our plates were back with us, the meals were cold. Complained to the server who seemed nervous but kept saying, I know it’s not your fault, can we speak to a manager but we were kept waiting for the manager who either seemed to be the scarlet pimpernel or is unapproachable and the server didn’t want to fetch them. The lady at the bar was moody and snappy too. We shall continue to eat elsewhere. Shame as the setting of the pub is gorgeous and it could be so much better but chef lets it down.

As I arrived I was greeted by a wonderful member of staff Lesley,I was seated down and within a few minutes I’d had my order taken by another lovely member of staff Emma!the food service was amazing i had received my food within 15 minutes and it was lovely. I’ll be revisiting soon thank you to the amazing staff they deserve a raise.

Me and my spouse arrived at around 12 o’clock and were greeted by Lesley,she was a lovely server and sat us down at our table.After being seated we walked up to the bar and put our order in for a chicken club sandwich with a Pepsi max.Within 15 minutes we had our food in front of us,the food was lovely and the drink was refreshing.We later left and got a genuine goodbye from Lesley.This pub is lovely please send my thanks to Lesley.

Had a wonderful Sunday dinner today. The veg was fab as we hate veg that’s too soft and this meal had it cooked perfectly. The beef was tender just how it should be. Had a side of cauliflower cheese too. Despite being full we couldn’t resist pudding and we had sundae and crumble and cheese cake. It was a lovely family treat from cooking and thank you to Claire and Daisy for looking after us and to the chefs in the kitchen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟
