The best restaurants in Upton and Hanley Malvern Hills West Midlands

Upton is a bit of a desert for coffee shops. Mojotos sells hot drinks, cocktails and pizza plus other things. It has a great vibe. Sue is now in a small mobility scooter and the barmaid rushed to open the second door to let her in (thanks). We had 3 different hot drinks - all were tp notch. We will return.

Very quaint and friendly. Superb service. Freshest for breakfast. Creamy scrambles...the way they should be. Top quality bacon....cooked to perfection. Thumbs up for a top pad!

Great sunday roast! Cauliflower cheese actually cheesy and not watery. Roast potatoes actually crispy and still fluffy inside. Spot on. All the staff were great too.

We were staying in Upton and visited the Old Anchor pub, where we enjoyed puddings that had been made at this establishment. On leaving the pub we decided to find the shop in order to buy puddings to take home. Delicious homemade steamed puddings are available to buy from the shop or online. The puddings are all made on site using traditional methods and are big enough for 2 people to share. Currently they are £3.60 each or three for £10. We bought 3 of course and our only difficulty was choosing from the huge range available. They freeze well so no need to eat them all at once!

First time here. Lovely location. Right the side of river. Staff were great. The food however is not good value. We had the tapas. The arancini were small balls with just rice inside. And just slightly coloured with which I presume to be the ragu ? No sign of a raging sauce. My brusheta had no hint of garlic or basil ? Just tomatoes and a bit of rocket. Again small portion. The serving of the food was strange aswell. I thought the idea of tapas is to have different foods in front of you at one time , they all canes at different times. The aubergine came 15 mins after the first dish was served. We had eaten the rest by then. Meat balls were ok but again small portion. Shame really as for me the dishes are way overpriced for what ( and when ) you get them. Could be better

Great food, great staff, great service. Paulo the chef recommended a dish on the menu and he did not disappoint. It was delicious. We will definitely be back again and again

Enjoyed a delightful lunch at the Drum. Had the split pea soup with rustic bread, and side of chips, perfectly made. Delicious!

So glad to find this gem on a Sunday evening. Quick service, generous portions, tasty hot food. What's not to like?! Son left his phone after we had waited for food, but he remembered after about 20 mins of leaving and was relieved and delighted to have it handed back to him with no bother.

Having moved into the area 2 years ago, we’d been meaning to visit the White Lion as part of trying all the local restaurants. The staff were very friendly indeed and made us feel welcome. We had a drink in the bar whilst we waited for our table to be made ready in the restaurant and were called about 20 minutes later to go in. Having waited a while I had expected that the restaurant must’ve been full, but it wasn’t, less than half the tables were occupied which made the wait a little strange, not a problem, just odd. I ordered fish and chips and my wife their burger. Whilst both the fish and the burger were nice, they were both served with soggy chips, the kind that you get when the oil used to deep fry them just isn’t hot enough. I get crispy chips with my £4.95 fish take away from the chippy across the road, so at £13 per mains we’re talking top gastro pub prices for which getting the basics right isn’t an unreasonable expectation.

Previous visits have been excellent, however they were totally unprepared for the festival traffic today. Kept accepting food orders and more and more customers, despite having a kitchen that is not equipped for the numbers. Was told a half hour wait for food, fair enough, however our drinks took 25mins to arrive and the food, 50mins. Bacon sandwiches used to be amazing here, but greasy bread with undercooked bacon that looked like it had been pinged in the microwave was a massive turn off. Won’t bother again, will stop somewhere else en -route in future

We went to the swan on Saturday the 2nd of November, we arrived as a group of 18 and all ordered food and drinks after 45 mins our food and another’s hadn’t turned up then a very grumpy waitress arrived to tell us they were out of steak can we order something else , after asking why our food hadn’t come when we ordered so long ago we were then told they had missed our order , no apologies and two very rude staff Mille and another who explained we were offered an alternative which we weren’t and when we tried !! To explain this we were then told we were lying as she knows Millie and she always tells the truth …. We ended up leaving after over an hour and having no food ! Service was shocking and honestly just the rudest I’ve had in a long time - mistakes get made but to not get a sorry or a free drink for our wait after the money we spent was shocking - don’t recommend!!!!!
