The best restaurants in West Midlands

This place is a gem - amazing food and an absolute bargain! We went for Sunday lunch and had the hit pork scratching from the bar with a pint. Then roast beef with the thickest gravy (gets thicker the later you eat apparently) crispy roast potatoes and a huge Yorkshire pudding. Lots of sides (cauliflower cheese was amazing) and finished with the sticky toffee pudding. We will definitely be back!

We came to EN BBQ one evening and were pleasantly pleased to see that our waiter for the evening was Patryk who would usually be cooking. We were delighted to have Patryk serve us as he’s such a professional polite man and always makes us feel very welcomed. His customer service is excellent so having him as our waiter really makes the evening so much more enjoyable. The food was lovely but we were very disappointed to hear that Patryk is now leaving soon. He is a real asset to your team and will be sadly missed. We do hope that we get to meet him again somewhere soon as his professionalism really makes a great difference to your evening.

A proper old-fashioned pub. 5 stars for food because lovely Michelle let us order a food delivery and provided plates and cutlery. Highly recommended, especially to any boaters passing on the Caldon Canal.

We called in as we were passing through stunning Treflach and had a lovely Sunday lunch today. The bar staff were absolutely lovely, engaging, efficient, funny and attentive. Becky in particular was a credit to the establishment. The Sunday roast was very good, with good portion sizes and plenty gravy although the yorkshire pudding was a challenge. Me and Mrs R shared a desert (Black Forest Gateaux with cream) which was delicious. Prices were reasonable too. A nice stop on my favourite route out of Oswestry. Recommended.

Great food and lovely beer garden dog

Ordered online on Good Friday, the order was almost £100. The order was ready within 30 minutes although the shop was extremely busy. Everything was as we ordered - not one mistake for such a large order. All the food was piping hot! I definitely wouldn’t be going any where else - Fantastic service!!

Just got back from a really lovely Sunday lunch at the New Inn in Fownhope. I had the pork roast dinner and it was spot on – generous portions and full of flavour. The cauliflower cheese was especially good, creamy and cheesy without being too heavy. Plenty of vegetables too! For dessert, I went for a waffle with two scoops of ice cream, which was the perfect way to finish off the meal. The two ladies that own the pub were super attentive and couldn’t do enough for us – really welcoming and friendly, which made the experience even better. The pub itself has a cosy, relaxed feel. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and fancy a proper home cooked Sunday roast!

Great afternoon in the sun. Nice 4 the kids, they can run around where you can see them. Beers great and nice atmosphere

Nice and friendly pub. Good beer assortment. Good atmosphere for a meeting and drinks with the friends. Large patio area. The only disadvantage is no food served, but there are few good places nearby to eat.

My first visit here today, won't be the last. I had the halloumi on brioche bun with avocado, salsa, salad and delicious potato wedges, then huge slice of carrot cake, possibly the most moist I have ever tasted.

Absolutely wonderful food and plenty of it. Had the salmon and chicken supreme. I wanted to try the Teriyaki; however due to pending permanent closure it wasn’t available. Lovely friendly waitress, great service! It is such a huge shame the council is closing this restaurant as it is one of the few upmarket restaurants in the area. I only found out about it after reading a press release regarding the closure. Perhaps with more publicity the restaurant would have had more success and stayed open.

My husband and I visited this evening (Thursday) and took advantage of the 2 steaks and a bottle of wine deal. It was fabulous, steak was cooked to perfection and the sides were plentiful. Really tasty, nice atmosphere, great service. What more do you want on a Thursday evening for £30. We will definitely do it again.
