Overcooked rice cakes (soggy), processed cheese, small portion (poor value for money).

Nice owners. Very polite and willing to explain the dishes. Food portion looks small but is actually more than enough to fill you up. Food was quite tasty, not the best I've had but definitely in my top 3 East Asian places in Birmingham. Atmosphere is simple, nothing crazy but just a good place to eat and catch up with friends.

I came to mr slim’s on a Friday afternoon/evening & it wasn’t busy at all, I was super excited to try the food Bcos as I entered I was greeted by the owners (husband and wife couple) and I know my food was going to be made with love. The tteokbokki was LIFECHANGINNGGGG I got the cheese one, it was so flavourful and the dipping sauce was great for my belogi kimbab (beef sushi) which was also very tasty. I also opted for a chicken bibimbab which game with a real nice sauce and everything was just 10/10. The kimchi was very fresh and complimented the dishes nicely. They do not have a toilet - that may be the only downside. But everything was so tasty and cost-effective, definitely will be bringing back all my friends. THE PEAR DRINKS WERE AMAZING AS WELL - make sure to try

I am SPEECHLESS!I can’t even describe how much i love tuis place I wish i lived in Birmingham so i can have it more often! They don’t serve meals, rather they serve hugs in plates! On top is the first halal Korean restaurant i have seen so far. I am so happy to have discovered them. Keep up the amazing job!

Service is so sweet and the food is great and it's the only place I've found that does Korean food halal certified -and they r always willing to explain the dishes if you're not too sure I love this place so much, every time I eat here it feels like a warm hug there's no other way to put it???

Really nice food and HMC halal too. Loved the fried chicken. Service was excellent and the place and cooking is done in hygienic conditions. The quality was good , The first time I tried Korean food. Prices are a bit expensive, especially the soft drinks. The corn dog was very good .

I have tried many korean restaurants in the UK, and this is the only one I know that is full halal. The food tastes homemade and is of excellent quality and authenticity, a must visit if you are in Birmingham!

Have visited on 4 different occasions and food has been consistently good. Food is fresh, flavourful and clean. The bbibmbap is particularly a good option for lunchtime with healthy vegetables.

Amazing halal food, tasty and fresh. Best of all the staff there (I believe they might be the restaurant owners) are incredibly kind and hospitable.

As a Korean I would like to say that Mr Slim is the only authentic korean restaurant in the city center. Sooooo delicious and people are so lovely! I love visiting here with my family! 😍

Even though I was only in England for a week, I must have missed Korean food and enjoyed it very much.

Affordable £-££ Really like this place I have been twice. I liked that when I went it was not busy. I was able to eat in a calm environment while listening to the music they played. The lady was nice and made me feel welcome.

Lovely lady and the counter..very quick service and I would say the fried chicken was hot and the sauce very zingy, still I would give it a 3/5 because the chicken was quite chewy and it appeared as if it was half fried earlier in the day and then fried again before serving..I would give 3.5/5 to the bibimbap, it could've been a lil warmer, the beef bulgogi was flavourful but a lil sinewy, the gochujang sauce was tasty as well adding a depth of flavour to the bibimbap..it all worked well in combination, Worth a try..!

This is simply amazing. Filling, delicious and a real treat. The owners were really nice and made the food fresh and on the spot. The food itself had the best I've tasted, I would definitely go again and again, it's got quality and flavour even in this economy.

I went here for lunch today. I have wanted to visit since they opened. Unsure if the people working today were a couple but the lady was very friendly and helpful. The chef was polite and said hello as they wasn't busy I selected the beef Japchae. This dish was delicious. The noodles were thicker then other vermicelli I have had before but almost transparent and very nice. I cannot wait to return and try more of the dishes available. Would highly recommend.

The owners are so cute and wholesome! Korean Fried Chicken and Tteokboki were 10/10. I always buy a portion of kimchi to takeaway because it is so fresh! Much better than any of the pre-packaged ones you find at the store. Would definitely recommend visiting if you're in the city centre and looking for a hidden gem 💎

The owners are the sweetest and friendliest couple ever. It's the most welcoming place I have even been too. The food tastes really authentic. I had the Yang nyeom Korean fried chicken with an all cheese corndog and I was so full. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Really cool unassuming restaurant run by a lovely Korean couple. Menu is simple but very well done. Chicken was well fried and juicy.

I visited on a late afternoon, so it was very quite. I got served immediately. The owners were friendly and the food was comforting. I got the Chicken Katsu, the sauce was very rich and tasty but I wasn't a fan of the chicken as I found it slightly chewy. Bur overall was very nice and I would like to try other things on the menu

The service was fast and staff were very kind. The food tasted fresh. The location was a bit dodgy but once you get inside it is quite cute. Finally the corn dog should have a been a bit bigger for the price.

Compare to the price the portion of the food is very low.

Delicious Korean fried chicken, and the beef bolgogi was tender and tasty

I've been searching for a good Korean chicken restaurant for soo long and I came across this place in Birmingham. The food is amazing, especially the KFC. The service is immaculate and the people at the restaurant are kind and welcoming. It feels like eating at the house of someone you know, really peaceful and calm environment as opposed to a busy restaurant. It was soo good I had to go for seconds. 10/10 would recommend.

right this place is definetely overratted, fair enough they need the money as its so dead but pricing microwaved food at £8 is extortion and adding a orange cheese slice ontop for £1.50 was not what i was expecting. its just over priced for what they serve. i also tried their cheese corndog which has 10% cheese in there the rest was batter again that was £5.90 ...

My only regret is not going to this place sooner. The food, the service, and the ambience is spot on, if you're in or around Birmingham, you have to try this place, you will not be disappointed. Also, try the Korean drinks, they're amazing; I had the milk drink and it was delicious.

Finally came here and had the half sausage, half cheese hotdog. At least now I know what it tastes like. The sausage tasted very familar and reminded me of something I've had before. Plus the cheese pull was insane- I can't wait to come and try other dishes x

This place is truly one of the best Korean Restaurants, fully halal with a friendly Korean couple running it. The prices too are unbeatable. If you have not tried their seafood pajeon, I recommend it! The tastiest one yet that I tried outside of Korea. 너무 마싰다!

Lovely quiet Korean diner, run by a lovely couple. Food was delicious and fresh, light and healthy. I had the toppoki which was warming and filling, especially in the cold weather.

I've had a fair share of Korean food, and I have to say this was the best I've had by far. Not only the food is great, the service and atmosphere are also perfect. The servers were lovely throughout the whole experience. I ordered the Kimchi pancakes, half cheese and sausage corndog and the Chicken katsu. All came quickly and were all delicious. The lady especially was super accommodating and friendly so thanks to her for also making this experience for the first time 10x better. Will be coming again!

Healthy, tasty food for £10. Go and try it now. I had Bibimbab, lots of veg, an egg and rice, comes with a spicy sauce in a pot so you can taste it before mixing it in. Very clean. Great service from appa and eomma 😃

A bit of a hit and miss, truth be told Ordered the following items... ramyeon noodles with egg, corndog, chicken katsu curry and yangyum( chibab) The ramyeon noodles tasted delicious, chicken katsu curry was alright taste wise, yangyum wasn't to my liking unfortunately, also got some bong bong drinks which tasted nice. So all in all a mixed review, like I always say everyones taste buds differ and opinions are different and this is my opinion

The atmosphere was so cute and wholesome, it instantly put a smile on my face. The food was absolutely delicious! I was blown away by the flavours and the quality of the dishes. The service was also top-notch, with quick and efficient service that made the whole experience even better. This place has definitely become my new go-to spot for Korean food!!

I tried their food today. Topokki and fried chicken, the chicken was okay, a bit over fried and topokki wasn't good at all!! It tasted bland and plain.

It would be easy for me to say that this establishment has some of the best Korean food I’ve ever had the luck of trying. But I’d be lying if I said anything else. On multiple occasions I’m drawn to it’s down to earth and heart warming owners, who serve diligently and with great speed considering it’s just the two of them, as well as the food which contains an authentic Korean flavour, filled with layers of flavour I dare say you cannot get elsewhere. Favourites being the Yangyeom Chibab & Kimchi Pancake, both of which I’m more than happy to pay the price for because of how heart warming the meal is. Truly one of my favourite places to escape during my lunch break. 감사합니다!

Wow. What can I say about this place? I mean why did not know about this sooner?!!! It is delicious. Every time I have been the service and food are spot on. The owners are super sweet and accommodating. And the food is delicious comfort food which you can tell is made with love. Everything burst with flavour. I love love love the Buldak chicken, so delicious and on the very spicy side, which is what I love. Definitely recommend visiting and giving it a go.

Worked late so didn’t want to go home to cook, popped into Mr Slim to try out the food. It was really nice and the service was excellent… very friendly. My favourite dish was the cheese and toppoki. I recommend this place and would go back.

Food - Amazing flavours. Tried two types of fried chicken, rice and katsu chicken, some kimmari seaweed side, even the grape drink was nice! Service - friendly, welcoming Atmosphere - quiet, so it depends what you're after. It was ideal for me and the Mrs, we like some privacy - No one can my attempts to use chopsticks, lol.

My 2nd time going to this place. Last time was when they were at the old place. Was sad when they were closed, and was waiting for it to open up again. I ordered Korean kimchi pancakes (Jeon in Korean), cheese Toppoki, Bong Bong grape juice (nice, but it's a small can.) Highly recommend both food items. The cheese Toppoki was a little spicy, just the way I like it, and the cheese balances it out. I was using the tomato Topokki tomato sauce with the pancake tho, bcuz it tasted better with that than it did with the Soy sauce that they gave. Next time, I would like to try the Bulgogi Kim Bab (korean beef sushi), and hot dog aswell. Halal korean food in city centre, affordable prices, good customer service, small and cozy. Highly recommend this place.♥️

We just needed a quick lunch and as it was raining today we were walking pass here.. We had bibimbap, tteokbokki, kimchi pancake and buldak chicken.. it was my husband’s first time trying Korean food and he loved it. I live korean food as it is not oily.. The service was great as well. The lady suggested me to try the kimchi pancake due to the cold and rainy weather and that was amazing... also the Milkis soda was great!! 감사합니다 (thank you for wonderful lunch and service)

I went to the first location for Mr Slim in Moseley and loved the food and the lady explaining the cuisine and culture to us. She was pleasant and welcoming. Then they moved to Digbeth and I went there again and saw the same happy lady serving food. Now they’re closer to central town and I sincerely hope they find success here as they serve nice clean food and are lovely people. I went on the first opening day and gave a box of chocolates as well as I followed them on Instagram for a while and felt close to Mr Slim for about 4 years, give or take. Same tasty food and full HMC now which is great as there aren’t many fully halal Korean places.

Amazing food compared to other korean places and amazing host. Food is hmc halal and we got to converse in korean and japanese. Recommend and will come back. Ordered: cheese tteokbokki and sweet and spicy chicken.

Clean place . Tasty chicken 100% recommend. M I got the sweet and buldak . Buldak was pretty spicy but delicious.

Came here with family, we all left really satisfied with the food and service. The owners were extremely nice and welcoming. And bonus, this place is fully halal. If you’re looking for real authentic halal korean food this is definitely the place for that!

A few days ago I went with a big group and we all managed to finish all our food although we ordered a lot. Everyone loved it and the owners were really nice and the food was also 100% authentic. Definitely recommend for halal and authentic Korean food.

Was following Mr Slim on Instagram eagerly awaiting their opening and it was so worth the visit. Easy to find, conveniently located, especially if you work in Birmingham City Centre, and run by a lovely welcoming Korean family. The food was quick to be served and absolutely delicious and excellent quality - the kimchi was so fresh (go for the bigger portion, you can take the rest home). The price is exceptionally reasonable - you won't find anyone that can compete with their prices. The food is easy to take away if you need to - an attention to detail that I really appreciate and don't see other places doing. Overall very satisfied and it exceeded my expectations. Will gladly becoming back.

We had a delicious meal at Mr. Slim's today. It was our first time trying Korean food so we ordered some of the dishes recommended by the friendly staff. The Korean fried chicken with garlic and soya sauce was so tasty and was thoroughly enjoyed by the kids. I also really enjoyed the katsu curry. All the food tasted wholesome, fresh and portions were a great size. Staff were so lovely and helpful. They came to check if everything was ok and were really humble. The drinks were amazing too! I will definitely be visiting regularly.

Mr Slim Korean food is unbelievable! Their food was DELICIOUS and the service was IMPECCABLE! When the wife noticed we maybe k-culture consumers, she even engaged with us and used common phrases we were familiar with. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING plus it’s HALAL! Note: their current location has another guy who owns a Japanese place called Waterss. beware of that guy. He repeatedly tried to sabotage Mr Slim by saying their food isn’t halal. People like that are shady.
