I have been to Gabriels a few times now and can't recommend them enough, Fantastically Clean, Super Friendly, Food Exceptional, Hence why I've given them 5 STARS Thank You All **********

Best Chippy in Harbourne by a country mile - still maintain this.

Best place to eat, friendly atmosphere, They know how to talk with customers, They know how to serve food and whole staff is very humble come here you will not regret it.

Always fresh and beautiful food.

First time visiting and is excellent. Can park at the place but must put number plate in. For £10.00 you get a large fish and cone of chips and curry sauce, and if you want mushy peas as well as sausage. The tartar sauce and curry are very filling altogether.

We have been to Gabriel's a few times, always good food, never had any problems. We ordered tonight in store and had a lovely conversation with the lady there, probably causing her to forget to put my wrap in the bag, which was on top of the heated area. After walking home and finding no wrap, I phoned even though it said they were now closed and a gentleman must have answered as I hung up. He phoned me straight back, saying we are so glad you called, we were hoping you would... What's your address and we'll deliver it for you right now. Absolutely fantastic service and such lovely people. Thank you so much again!

Has great food and a huge variety. Even though it’s a fish and chips shop, his chicken and meat options are extremely tasty 👅. Great service by the employees and the owner said it’s halal and gave us extra food. Portions are more than enough per person, almost unable to finish it with how filling the food is. Have went to the place multiple times and it never gets old.

Me and my partner been going here for years never have a bad thing to say today was even better as we have a daughter who is a fussy eater and wouldn't pick any food until the loverly owner asked if she wanted to make her own pizza this was the best day ever for her and she loved every minute of it and eat the lot lol would always recommend this place to everyone

I'm not local but discovered this place when my eldest was at Uni and this was my guilty pleasure whenever I took them back after the holidays etc. Delicious and well portioned food at very reasonable prices and always friendly staff.

Just wanted to say how lovely Gabriel was getting a food order out to my elderly mum who’s home alone. It was very very kind of you to be so flexible. The food is always so good, it’s always freshly cooked and hot so every time I visit my parents from Essex I have my favourite fish & chips. Service is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended! You won’t be disappointed I promise ❤️

The biggest thing is the owner and staff, I’m not kidding when I say some of the loveliest people I have ever met. The store is a little hidden but the shop aesthetic and food is amazing. Cannot recommend enough.

Update: Gabriel's no longer have a sit in option but still seem to do Fish and Chips which is a shame as Brum doesn't have many good sit-in chip shops. Had to ferry sometime food friend Bob to the hospital as they can’t find his brain and needed to search his legs for it, so we planned to visit Dad’s Lane afterwards. However as his brain is so small we were done by 4pm and Dad’s Lane was still closed, so! We hit up Gabriels instead. Overall it was a good experience. It was quiet as they hadn’t long opened. The small seating area is really nice and the shop is very clean and smart. Ordered a medium fish and chips and this was more than enough. The fish was excellent and is cooked to order. Fresh and not greasy. The batter was just a bit thick and tasteless but not stodgy by any means. Just would like it to be thinner and crisper. My chips were a bit cold but were otherwise ok. Had they been cooked fresh too this might have got another star. The staff were friendly and the service is excellent. I’d happily eat here again but would ask for fresh cooked chips. It’s also good value and they do delivery too.

I am an international student from Canada living in Harborne and always go to Gabriel’s for the best burgers and chips at great prices. His food is always fresh and delicious. They have some of the best food I have had in the UK. Gabriel himself is positive and has great energy with his customers. I will definitely miss this place when I go back to Canada.

BEST CHIPPY in the world? Could well be! I absolutely lov ethe chips here ate Gabriels. Why? Well it starts with the easy parking despite being at the top of the busy Harborne High Street. With some sapces on the road adn additional spaces on the car park (just remember to enter your car reg on the tablet on the counter!). Then the actual shop is very smartly presented and clean. You can even see the food being prepared and made. The staff are so nice and polite taht you feel you stepped in your own kitchen. And they dress clean and tidy which is so important for me. A#Bu the food is where it actually is. The chips are without doubt the best I have ever had and I have eaten all over the world. They are the best potatoes for sure and they are cooked to perfection. Neither undercooked nor overly heated. And they are always fresh. I just couldnt resist in putting my box of chips on the ground outside the shop to capture a photo of the delicious chips. YUMMY YUMMY, HAPPY TUMMY :)

Everytime I have visited Gabriel's with my housemate we both have agreed that this is one of the best fish and chip shops. Portion size to price ratio is amazing, they always give us a little something extra (be it an extra curry sauce or a few extra chips). The quality of the food is excellent and still piping hot by time we've walked home and I like sauce with my food but I've not really had to add extra because I feel flavour is really good. Service is always friendly and helpful. Just be mindful it's cash only when order in store but there is a cashpoint nearby

My favourite fish and chip shop but have just received a parking fine through the post despite putting my reg in the iPad provided. Please be careful with parking or park outside of the car park. Food was brilliant as always though!

I love this chips shop so much that I can't describe it. It's owned by a lovely couple with good manners and kindness. I would always get scallops and if it takes a long time to make it they would always give me an extra one or something else for me to enjoy while I wait. I can't thank them enough for this Joyful experience they make me have because of their delicious food and friendly service.

Went here the other day despite living round the corner I rarely go there, I always thort the ower looks a bit moody went there on Thursday evening for some fish and roe (student so I was bit low on money) Owner was kind enough to give me a chips and change my 3 fish bites to six. Thankyou :) and the chips and batter where really nice! Will be back!

Brilliant service!!! Super friendly and helpful. Fish was perfect, not greasy, chips top. Mushy peas, pickled egg. They throw in a free soft drink on a larger order. Has halloumi veggie option. Large portions so small fish and cone of chips enough for most people! Only minus is it's cash only.

I've had the butterfly chicken with chips & salad with minted yogurt sauce and its absolutely beautiful the chicken is lovely and tender its not dry its perfect and for the price for what I have is fantastic you get plenty so if you ever fancy a juicy butterfly chicken with chips & salad Gabriel's Pizza is place to get your food from service is outstanding home delivery's always on time its still hot so for me it's 100% the place to be

Am a latecomer to this lovely local, but so glad to have found it after they catered for our school disco brilliantly. The pizzas are freshly made, delicious and really good value. Fish and chips always tasty and good sized portions. Lots of alternatives too, including Greek sslad, kebabs etc. As well as this, the staff are just so welcoming and friendly, which always makes me choose to go there even though I have a much closer option. The interior is also spotlessly clean and there is a seating area for waiting. Highly recommended.

Messaged on way 7-25 still not arrived when I enquired at 7-55 in meantime at 7-45 I got message sent enjoy your meal which I hadn’t got,it finally arrived at 8-07 was cold and bottom of box full of grease was not happy as always previously had a good service can’t understand why took 42 minutes as only live 10 minutes away!!😡😡

Great if you're a regular as apparently they'll get your food ready immediately, it would seem if you're not though you get left aside and forgotten. Food was fine, certainly not worth the extended wait we had while they chatted with and served said regulars who came in after us.

Went in here after work the other day and was pleasantly surprised by how great it was. Fish was incredible and the chips were pretty good too! Staff were lovely and only improved the experience. A nice hidden gem of Harborne.

Food was too greasy workers don't know how to speak to customers

A true Heavyweight within the highly contested B17 Takeaway Food division. Fine selection of cuisines, made from high quality produce: Kebabs & Wraps, Pizza, Burgers and all the way to the old faithful, Fish & Chips or, for the smaller appetite, a Posh Salad.... For the 5 years I have been a customer always, always a good meal. As agreed by the lad and missus and my old mum. Happy faces one and all. Yes, they deliver, as do many. Over the same time period as above. No problems encountered with any deliveries. Should you care to visit (and, at least once, you should) you'll be treated to great service. 9 out of 10 visits it's big smiles from the staff. The boss is always grinning. Or he has wind. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for these guys. With the boss often dishing out freebies later on in the night. The only caveat is ordering specials on entry. Easy. Once there, in person, you will see why the 5* hygiene rating, as it is deserved. Spotless, almost on the brink of immaculately clean. I would have full confidence that 'Dodgy Belly Sunday' is not included in the price. Price is a contested topic. I am happy, in fact enjoy, the roll of the dice with CHEAP street food, from hawkers, in far flung places. But maybe I should grow up or become more risk averse. Gabriel's isn't 'cheap'. Not in the strictest sense of the word. But, very importantly (and current cost of living crisis complicates things here) I believe it is good value. That is once these two points are noted: Portion Size & Gluttony. To put it another way, the price of a bag of regular chips here is probably noticeably more than you would pay down the road. But it will be significantly larger from Gabriel's. The portions here are like a plate of Gulliver's Saturday night fare, in Lilliput. Massive. However, for me, being gluttonous, when I am hungry. I want to Go F.Large. Do Not fall into this trap, throttle back, don't get ambitious with the ordering and don't end up paying for food you may be wasting.

What an amazing place, popped in on my travels for a small portion of chips. Price was great, boiling hot when I received them. Absolutely quality. Stood outside to eat them then went in to tell them what I thought. Cannot fault the service or quality. Just amazing. Thanks guys.

I have eaten fish n chips from numerous venues around Birmingham, I admit my less than favourable review was out of context with the service Gabrielle provides . The best chip shop by far, I have to add Gabrielle went that extra mile to resolve the less than favourable review I first wrote This is a top class restaurant/ take away and the staff and owner are always putting customers above all else . DO NOT ORDER from this place. The owner/ manager cancelled my order just because I dared to call and see where it was as I had been told it was on its way a long time before and then when I called to ask why it had just shown as cancelled he swore at me saying f*&^ you down the phone repeatedly. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

Wow just wow I’ve struggled to find a fish a chip shop that does kebabs since I’ve moved to Birmingham from Cornwall and I have to say honestly this is the best food I’ve had in a very long time service was perfect they let me see what I wanted before asking me the wait time wasn’t too long and let’s talk about the taste the chips are beautifully cooked the fish so tender the salad is fresh and the kebab not that greasing full of flavour not to big and not to small portions I highly recommend this place if someone was to ask me where the best fish and chip shop I will say you guys keep up the good work

Great food! Can tell quality products are used.

The pizza was cold and to be fair a little lifeless and quite stiff. The burger was a bit of a surprise: it had more life than I expected and more flavour too although not stellar. The mint sauce was so very vinegary but perhaps mint sauces tend to be. The wedges were ok, granted already getting cold. Based on this experience I would not order again.

THE BEST CHIP SHOP !! I always order from here when ever I want a proper chippy as this 1 is amazing! My delivery was a lil late so called up an they sorted it straight away and when the delivery guy arrived he was so genuine and explained it is busy so nothing negative at all (I only mentioned it being late to show that they do care and actually take action) !!
