Lovely Sunday dinner today. Food came very quickly, with plenty of veg. Fast, friendly service. Highly recommended

We called in when passing. It's a huge pub with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Plenty of drink choices and a friendly atmosphere. I'm not sure if they're serving food at the minute or if it's only on certain days but I didn't see any menus around. It does seem like a nice place, so we'll definitely be back

Really disappointed with the staff, especially a young lady who was quite rude to this group of middle-aged people, who had children, she didn't even let them finish their drinks and kicked them off the premises, although it just hit 10:30 PM. Understandable that kids can't be there past that time but literally bang on to the min, got kicked out from THE GARDEN. Paid and didn't even get to finish their drinks. Saw that and really don't want to recommend a place that treats children like that. Could have just let them finish the drinks.

If you want an amazing service & fantastic friendly staff that go above beyond, exceed customer expectations then this is the place for you. You must try the roast dinners got to say the owners Wayne & Mike need a pat on the back, what a lovely place to go for drinks 🍷 or food highly recommend

Hi on this place while passing through it was late in the day the staff bent over backwards and I had the best burger iv had in a long time gave them 5 stars as 6 wasn't an option cheers guys food was great

Our party were welcomed on arrival at 1230hrs, and enjoyed tasty, good value meals and desserts. The venue has a large car park and, when the weather improves, a spacious beer garden. The staff member we spoke to was friendly and helpful.

Brilliant community pub that really cares about its customers and people in the local area. The landlords work very hard to promote a relaxed, caring, safe and comfortable environment. This is a lovely family pub, where children are made welcome but also a great night out at the same time offering a variety of theme nights and an events calendar. Drinks, food, snacks, service and atmosphere are great. There are a variety of different sports shown with large screen and small TVs in other the lounge and bar. Brilliant place.

Just moved to the area and was really stuck for a good local. Came across this place and can’t rate it highly enough. The staff are friendly, the pub has a great atmosphere and the roast is delicious.

Mike, Wayne and all the staff at the Gate are so warm and welcoming. Myself and my family have eaten Sunday roasts which are beautifully presented with plenty of fresh vegetables. We’ve attended many of the weekend entertainment and The Gate has a fabulous community spirit, in which they recently supported a local family raising vital funds for support. I have joined the Wednesday evening Ukulele group in which we get taught songs and sing. We’ have also celebrated my husbands 50th Birthday in which Mike and Wayne went above and beyond to make it a fabulous night. Thank you so much to you all love The Ashley Family xx

First visit and we were made very welcome the food was terrific and very good value, service was spot on and the beer was first class, all in all everything we could ask for. We will definitely be going back.

We had a lovely evening. We didn't know it was ukulele night so listened to people playing and singing and singing along ourselves. Wayne is lovely and his bar staff were very friendly. It was nice to see a pub with so many people in. We will return

Although the manager apologised for the delay due to a lunchtime staff shortage, and we had to wait a while, the meal was really good and would not hesitate to go there again. Well done!!

What a lovely pub this is. My first visit on a Wednesday ev3ning to play with the Ukulele group there. The pub is beautifully decorated inside and the staff are really friendly. I will certainly be going back.

Had a brilliant night at a local pub. We played pool and darts, got other locals involved and really enjoyed ourselves. There aren't many pubs with games equipment anymore so that made it all the more special. The place itself is roomy, comfortable and not too expensive. The only thing they could improve on would be to have more bar snacks. Would have been great to have fresh cobs kept by for when the hunger sets in before the journey home 😋

Very nice and comfortable pub. Felt welcome and the young lady that served us was friendly. Clean toilets. Even though they had to replace my son and his girlfriend's drink, we enjoyed our stay there.

Nice pub, friendly locals. No live music tonight, but many Saturdays there is a band on.

Lovely pint of Marstons Pedigree and, when I visited, great blues/rock music courtesy of Backline Blues.

Why to see a band on the Saturday night, The Mistreated. The band were excellent and the atmosphere in the pub was great. Lovely pint of Pedigree as well.
