**Fantastic Food and Warm Service, with Some Late-Night Challenges**
Basmati Restaurant offers a truly enjoyable dining experience, with incredible food and a staff that goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere is inviting, and the service is consistently warm and attentive, adding to the overall charm of the place.
The menu boasts a great selection of well-prepared dishes, full of flavor and authenticity, making it a standout spot for quality dining. Whether you're indulging in a classic favorite or trying something new, the food rarely disappoints.
That said, the relatively small place settings can feel a bit restrictive, particularly during busy periods. Additionally, due to the restaurant’s proximity to the town centre nightlife, the atmosphere can shift as the night progresses, occasionally becoming a bit rowdy. While this may not be an issue for all diners, those seeking a quieter experience might prefer an earlier visit.
Overall, Basmati excels where it truly matters—exceptional food and stellar service. A great choice for a delicious meal, with just a bit of consideration for timing depending on the experience you're looking for.
We chose this restaurant for the great vegan choice menu and it didn't disappoint.
All our meals were very nicely cooked and we all thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Staff were pleasant and attentive.
Would definitely visit again when we visit Leamington.
We have visited Rajrani on numerous occasions over the years and it is always our first choice when eating out. Always a pleasant family atmosphereand the staff are friendly and professional with everything being immaculately clean and presented.
I can say that every choice of dish I have had has been cooked and spiced perfectly,
My wife tried a new option from the menu, served with asparagus and broccoli and it was fantastic. Portion sizes are huge and we are always well satisfied. Another excellent experience, many thanks to Josh, TJ and team.

Everything was cooked to perfection but not a big fan of the flavour of the food here. Almost everything in the mixed grill platter lacked flavour that's a critical part of Afghan cuisine. The Kabuli pulao lacked that signature lamb stock taste, the lamb shank and chicken curry both were quite bland. BarBQ items were really good though.
Food - most dishes were delicious, however the steak dish was not of the best quality, would not have again
Starters and mains are generous portions, quite tasty but my personal experience was tough steak, badly cooked vegetables and potatoes. The prawn starter I had was tasty but overwhelmed with a bucket of crisps (see ohoto).
Staff seemed quite friendly but for the price probably expected a better level of service.
Wasn’t the best overall experience but most of the family enjoyed the food, maybe my expectations were a bit higher for the price and reviews I had seen previously.
Would probably try again in a few months time and hope for a better experience
Yummy food - we especially enjoyed the chicken Capsila and Tandoori Chicken Masala curries. Our son loved the veggie samosas. Generous portions. Would recommend.
Came here for Sunday lunch and had a three course special menu of handmade scallop ravioli to start, beef rump with trimmings for main and lemon meringue soufflé for dessert. Food was great, the beef was very tender and the dessert was to die for. Service fantastic too, thank you for making our Sunday special!
