Belter little pub. Very friendly locals. Beer immaculately kept. Worth popping in!

Nice quiet micro bar. Very good variety of ales and spirits. Owners make you feel really welcome.

We was here for a private funeral wake. Nearly fell off a very winky picnic bench that was on a slope which was hilarious and the special house cider was blowing my n*#s off after 2 pints!! Love this little bar, but i think the staff could have smiled a little

Very disappointed with our last visit as it was full of kids running about, there was even some behind the bar, which I'm sure is against licensing laws and after 9pm. Shame it was a nice pub.

Good price and quality pints of ale

Popped in the Old Despensary whilst waiting for a friend as we were eating around the corner. Great little bar, serving decent beer and the service was quick and cheerful. I did see somebody making a comment that the beer was not st its best, barrel was checked and he was offered another pint without hesitation. All in all a good place for a real beer.

Lovely venue for our granddaughters baby shower very friendly staff. The light sensor in the ladies toilet needs to be on longer apart from that a fabulous time was had by all

The pint glass I got was filthy, not only that but the owner of the pub ( who looked like Al from toy story 2) was extremely rude to me and made me feel uncomfortable

Great selection of traditional beers. Good rotation, would be nice if there were some Craft Beer but apart from that. The locals are friendly and the bar maid who works on a monday and Thursdays is brilliant, service with a smile. Always.

I went to this cosy place with a few friends and spent hours there. I was impressed by the knowledgeability and friendliness of the bar staff; the familial feel was extended to all patrons and we enjoyed ourselves in relative comfort. I have always liked rustic looking places and this one ticked the boxes for me- the beer labels on the ceiling, the stools around barrel-themed tables and I also liked the pictures of the dogs with their names attached. Some customers did bring their dogs in and I spent a few minutes trying to see if they were some of the pictured dogs! We did not eat while we were there so I am unable to give much context on what is on offer. Unfortunately, I don't drink so my views are based on what my friends said about the brews. I know that they enjoyed the "Ice Cream Pale", I'm not sure if they tried the "Track & Field" in the end. There were a reasonable number of choices on the chalkboard and this made me think that they're not a place that stagnates; the choices will most likely change and keep it all interesting without compromising the core of the place.

Shop-fronted micro Pub with very lively Friday evening vibe & interesting range of clientele. Wonderful landlord offering warm & witty quips. Good range of new & varied beers & ciders, some very strong. Third of pint samplers available. A little gem shining brightly in a bit of a dull area.
