**Great Wall Restaurant, Salisbury** Our usual Chinese takeaway was closed due to a fire, so after hearing great things about The Great Wall in Salisbury from friends, we decided to give it a try. Although we pre-ordered our food, we still had to wait 20 minutes for it to be ready. When we got home, the food was reasonably hot. At first glance, it looked appealing and smelled decent. However, as we started serving it, we noticed how greasy everything was. We initially brushed this off, thinking that Chinese food can sometimes be a bit greasy. Unfortunately, after just a few bites of my Chicken Chow Mein, I had to stop eating because it was overwhelmingly greasy and ended up throwing it away. My partner had the Singapore special fried rice with curry sauce, and he also had to stop eating and discard his meal. Both of us are now feeling queasy from the excess fat and saltiness in our dishes. It’s a shame because the reviews suggest that this is a good restaurant and it was quite busy. We also had positive recommendations from friends. However, I suppose it depends on what you’re accustomed to. Our regular Chinese food is never this greasy, and we've never ended up throwing it away. Unless you're used to this level of greasiness, I would recommend finding another place to eat.

Tried to order online and the order was showing as pending and were not sure if the order had gone through. Walked to the store to check, told the order had not gone through. Out through the order for us and cost £7 more than before despite still collecting . Questioned why (despite the man serving having seen our attempts to order with pending card payments) and would not honour the same price. Was unhelpful, rude and charged us more for the exact same thing. We are returning customers but won’t be returning this time as the service was not good. Just to add , despite them reassuring us that our original order had not gone through, upon checking the bank account a few days later , we were actually charged twice for the meal after all.

I was so looking forward to going to this restaurant for some time as family & friends gave highly rated it. Had a 5:15pm booking (the earliest evening opening time) felt rushed to order and after the starters my plate was taken away whilst I was still eating the last mouthful! We were not offered the early evening menu value menu which I have now seen on their website so didn’t know there was one until the couple on the next table asked for it which prompted the table on the other side to also ask for it as they didn’t know either. By then we were on our mains so too late for us to do anything about it. There’s was large portions so that’s a plus but I felt hurried and the food was nice but only average tasting. I feel the items on the menu are ‘hyped up’ In description to make it sound fancier than it really is. No where to hang your coats etc so had to put them on the floor under out table, we were not offered a place to put them we were seated by the mirror and it was a tight squeeze for just the 3 of us on a table for 4! Different waiting staff throughout and apart from the lady who attended to us with drinks there wasn’t much smiling and interaction from the other staff no one came & asked if we were enjoying our meals or if there was anything else we needed.

I visited Jennys with my wife, daughters and grandchildren. The place looked clean and well presented. We ordered a variety of food which while there was nothing wrong with it ,there was nothing particular good about it.Mass produced cheap food, marked up.Likewise service was efficient but lacked warmth. This place is one step-up from the Golden Arches but not far.

The best pub in Britain. With the best ales (Hopback) and the best bartenders, and the best patrons.

So we’ve used Popeyes for a year or so now and albeit good service and good quality this Friday we placed an order. My Mexican burger (which was ordered with all salad and mayo) had one segment of tomato and one slice of cucumber. There was so much mayonnaise that it was deeper than the actual 2 burgers inside. I had to scrape it all off. The one piece of chicken I ordered was like eating leather and had to throw it away. Definitely wasn’t fresh and quite disgusting. More importantly my wife had a chicken kebab. She ate one piece of chicken and stopped as said it tasted funny. She was then up all night with food poisoning and is still not well. I wish I had taken pictures of the food but we threw it away without thinking. And as for your comments after.. I complained before my other half had even opened her container. The chicken was certainly not ‘fresh’ and ‘smelt bad’ . There was NO way this was fresh. After one bite it was thrown away. I never leave negative reviews unless it’s extremely necessary. Really shocked!! As a result we won’t be taking the chance using you again.
