Wow. What a lovely find. I will definitely go back again and again. Spacious restaurant. Really friendly staff and owners. Beautiful setting next to the river flowing past. I’m so very delighted to have found Jenny’s Bistro. 5 stars.

Friendly staff. I ordered an omelette. It was huge and very tasty. I didn’t realise it would come with chips and salad. It’s also very accessible and I’m in a wheelchair. Place was clean. The cakes section looked very yummy. One for another day.

Not been here before, thought we would give it a go, it wasn’t good, our orders were wrong and rather than apologise and sort it, the servers were aggressive and rude, they said it was our mistake, they brought our missing items out 5 mins later, the food was ok but expensive for the quality. Cosy club and Boston are the same price but much better quality and service. Won’t be back.

When here today, ordered the home made farmhouse burger which came out and definitely wasn't home made, tasted just like a burger van burger, cheap and frozen. Quite disappointed considering it said home made gourmet burger! I mentioned it and was told it was home made haha definitely not. Basically all frozen food. We eat it as we were hungry and out all day it was ok but just misleading and felt we were conned, charging high prices for burger van food! Won't be back here again. Not to mention £3.20 for a can of Rio, bit of a joke!

Went here for late lunch around 1-2p last Friday and enjoyed it. Service was good and attentive staff (girl with blonde hair and braided pigtails was very nice to us). Reading the reviews and its all mixed but cant blame staff or waiting hours if you come in on a rush hour. Food was served on time, big serving for a cheap price and their steak and kidney pie is great. Ordered the lamb chops and very happy with the serving. Will definitely recommend for anyone visiting Salisbury.

Not the worst I've ever been but waitress got order wrong for all of us. Offered to replace and take it back even after saying what we ordered originally wasnt available anymore yet heard the table behind us order it no problem , at this point as the wait wasnt the shortest and we where in a time limit before one of was at work we just wanted to eat. Think the place could be really good If waitress are trained a bit more and plate not over filled with veg.

For such a thin slice of cake £5.50 is ridiculous. Even with all the costs to sustain a place like this, wages and profit, £110 for a full cake (20 slices) that tastes exactly like a boxed Tesco is way too expensive. Waiting time was long and I’ve seen a guy behind the counter handling salad with bare hands, stuffing it on a sandwich, vinyl glove will be safer.

Order pie, mash and gravy. Turned up with chips (no great issue, mistakes happen). They took meal and away returned with same chips - said no mash available. So I asked if they would substiite the chips for a jacket potato and told that would be an extra £4. Really!? Jenny's used to be good value when in their old location, now just want to rip off customers. I won't be back.

We’ve been eating in Jenny’s for years both in the original and this new restaurant and always had the best service until today. I admit it was very busy but from the moment we entered it was painful. B gore we even got a menu 3 waiting persons asked if we were ready to order, finally a young girl took our order poached eggs on toast with two extra bacon @ £2+ a rasher a traditional breakfast with extra an extra egg and bread and butter with a cup of tea. 25 mins later the tea turned up then we 15 mins after we had to asked when our food would arrive to be told we’d have to wait as they were busy! When the food finally arrived it wasn’t what was ordered instead of poached eggs they were hard boiled and the traditional ( egg bacon sausages beans and chips) had mushrooms instead of chips when we said it wasn’t right the girl took it back tipped of the mushrooms leaving the juices behind and returned it still without chips but this time with the bread and butter when we told her again that this was still wrong she said that this was what we ordered which was wrong at first his point we’d had enough and went to leave I did go to the counter and said we would not be paying and I hope they get reimbursed by the waiting girls wage’s totally unprofessional and unexceptional

Really not an enjoyable breakfast! The front door was kept open making it quit cold. The order was messed up, my wife asked for no beans and was offered mushrooms instead..... neither turned up. The bacon was tough and over cooked. The meal looked very meagre on a large plate and we overheard othe customers saying "they only take cash" which a waitress confirmed and added they are always having trouble with their WiFi. We had no cash, at least not the £25 for 2 teas and 2 breakfasts. The final straw came with a £30 bill. .. when confronted the waitress said we must have another tables bill, which coincidentally also had ordered 'no beans'. It makes you wonder doesn't it! This is a totally honest and accurate review.

Disappointing! A note for the chef…a mushroom burger is a burger made from mushrooms! Not beef! And I don’t expect to be shouted at. Extremely rude, and ill mannered. A woman staff member that was also very rude, used the toilet and didn’t even wash her hands. The toilet was still flushing when she opened the door, and no hand dryer going. Won’t be returning. It’s a shame because it looks like a lot of money has been spent to create the new Jenny’s

Well, what can I say? I ordered a mushroom burger, not a Beef Burger with mushroom. I wasn’t expected to be verbally abused by a woman, (took her to a supervisor) she tried to put the plate down in front of me again, and I stopped her. Then a bearded chef got really cross, and said that I’d ordered a burger and that’s what I got. I said I ordered a mushroom burger, and nowhere on the menu did it say beef with mushroom. I don’t eat meat so really didn’t want it. But the plate was greasy underneath, when I picked it up, it almost slipped out of my hand. Anyway I just ordered a JP with cheese, but the salad was practically non existent. The final straw came when the 1st woman came out of the toilet and didn’t even wash her hands. Ugh! No drier and the flush was still going when I went in. It’s a shame because the surroundings are really nice, and several staff were fine, but we will not be going there again.

Very good food, I had one of the breakfasts (beans, tomatoes, bacon, mushroom, sausage, scrambled eggs and toast), fairly priced (around the £11.00 mark). They also do a good selection of cakes and beverages. Good service from the friendly staff. Atmosphere wise it doesn't have a lot of ambience, but then it is more of a cafe, than a restaurant. Jenny's is very popular, all the tables were in use by the time we left, and seems to be a favourite in Salisbury.

There will be two types of review here. One type relates to the 'old' Jennys which was superb. A proper cafe serving great food. Since moving a week or two ago a couple of doors down to much bigger premises, it is pretty awful. A complete lack of training or management puts the serving staff in an awful position but the food is now just bad, that's if you manage to get anything as orders take anincredible amount of time to arrive or are simply forgotten about. Hopefully this is just a transition thing but I'm not going back anytime soon. Having read the response to my review by the 'owner' I am stunned. The food was bad because it was made badly. Jennys isn't a new business and blaming everything on moving premises is pretty poor. The pancakes were stale, the syrup congealed and our orders were literally forgotten. Do not tell me I'm being unfair. I wish Jennys all the best but it was truly awful and they will go out of business if they continue like this.

I can’t register any of the above stars having not tasting the food, after waiting over 30 minutes and asking three members of staff why the wait and seeing other people coming in after us and getting their food we decide to up and leave. When we first arrived we were served immediately order tea and our food. The tea came quick which was not very nice two tea pots but very large glass cups. We did offer to pay for the tea but they waived that. I would not go back and would say that one member of staff was quite rude when asked about the wait she said “how do I know I’m not cooking it “ not very user friendly.

We didn't expect fast food, but this was slow by any standards. There were plenty of staff but it seemed that there was not enough cooking space for the number of tables/customers ordering. Ordered 4 items. 3 of them were wrong. We went here the week it opened and it was equally poor service but we put that down to it being in new premises. These issues should have been sorted by now. Seems to be a lot of people getting the wrong things. They tried to deliver stuff we hadn't ordered (got wrong table number) a couple of times while we were in there. Staff seem to be confused and spending a lot of time correcting mistakes. Even when I went to pay they had made mistakes in what we had ordered. I had to tell them what we had. Won't be rushing back.

This place has moved to bigger premises recently and changed its name to Jenny's Cafe Bistro. It used to be a basic cafe serving Full English, bacon rolls etc .. With the new name and new premises we thought it might have gone a bit more upmarket so gave it a go. Looking at the menu I'm confused why they are calling themselves a bistro or even having that in the name. The menu is a cafe menu with a couple of more unusual dishes. We went for the Mediterranean Breakfast which was for sharing. It also included tea or coffee. When we ordered my partner wanted a cappuccino so we asked if that was included in the price. Yes, any tea or coffee, we were told. When it arrived the breakfast wasn't the same as described in the menu. They had substituted feta cheese for the haloumi and there was no sourdough toast or honey. I asked the waitress about this. She returned with a single slice of white bread. Bearing in mind this is a sharing dish. I then asked another waitress about the fact it wasn't haloumi norcwqs it sourdough toast. She had no idea but got the owner to talk to us. I again explained we had no haloumi. His reaction was, " We ran out" No apology not telling us before we got the food or offer to reduce the bill. I then mentioned the white toast and no honey. "You want sourdough?" he asked, as if I was making a special request rather than asking for what I ordered. He disappeared and then a single slice of sourdough toast was delivered. There was still no honey. At this point I gave up. What we had was delicious but I have to question the service and whether they can deliver what you order. The final annoyance was when u paid the bill and got charged extra for the coffee. By this point I couldn't be bothered having another debate so just paid and left. Doubt I will be returning. Positives: food was good; new decor was nice; very accessible, nice smooth floors with plenty of space to manoeuvre a wheelchair; disabled toilets a good size (although the door didn't lock). Negatives: didn't get what we ordered; given a few chances to resolve the issue only partly resolved. When it arrived it looked different to what the menu said

We popped in for a Sunday morning breakfast. Had a mixed grill breakfast which cost £12.90. No toast. Tea was an extra £2.25 and coffee £3. The cheapest, low quality ingredients were used which was terribly disappointing. Over £30 for a fry up is outrageous. The only positive was that it was piping hot. We both left with a horrible greasy residue in our mouths. Improve the quality of ingredients (especially the sausages and burger patty which were clearly mass catering pack style 🤢) and it might have been worthwhile. We will not return. Back to Harvester which includes everything and unlimited tea and coffee. AVOID.

We have been regular customers at Jenny's for many years up until today. We always have the same every time which is double egg and chips. This week we could not eat the chips as they were hard and over cooked. When I complained we were told it was because of the potatoes. What a load of rubbish. Normally food was cooked fresh but not anymore. Over the past couple of months we have noticed the price has gone up which I think is to be expected. However the quality of the food has gone down and they appear not to be able to cook things properly. It appears that they have changed the cooks. As a result we will NEVER go there again.
