We recently visited the Salisbury Orangery for breakfast and had an excellent experience. The setting was beautifully designed, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made for a great start to the day. I opted for the standard Orangery breakfast, while my partner chose the vegetarian option. Both portions were generous, and the quality of the food was divine—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. To drink, my partner enjoyed a classic mimosa, while I tried a turmeric and ginger latte, which was a brilliant choice and something I hadn’t had before. It had a great balance of spice and warmth, making it a unique highlight of the meal. The service was okay—perhaps not the friendliest, but given how busy it was, this was understandable. Despite that, the overall experience was fantastic, and we’d definitely return. If you're looking for a delicious, well-prepared breakfast in a stylish setting, Salisbury Orangery is well worth a visit!

I was recommended to eat breakfast here, unfortunately not a good move. The place was cold, the full orangery breakfast was disappointing. The bacon was very over cooked, the poached egg was hard, the fried potatoes were overcooked and the toast had far too much butter. It was expensive for what it was and at no point, even when I paid, did any of the staff ask if my experience was acceptable. I certainly won’t be returning or recommending.

Great spot near the river. We visited after packrun. No spaces inside so we sat outside adjacent to the river, but they quickly moved us inside as space appeared. Dogs welcome. Full breakfast and creamy mushrooms on toast was perfect. Service brilliant and friendly. Definitely visit again.

If you like dry cardboard bacon and boiled -hard poached eggs, in a lovely setting, to be fair, and you are happy to pay £10 per person or the privilege, this is the place for you. The toast was okay, though. All in all, great place to waste your hard-earned cash.

I was very impressed, anywhere I can get a gingerbread coffee makes me very happy. I was very pleased with my beverage. My friend had tea in a tiny metal teapot and it was lovely. She also had lemon drizzle cake which was superb but very filling. I am saying publically that this is 10/10 top of the Salisbury cafes in my opinion but if I had to criticise then too many chocolate cakes and slices, although is unusual not everyone likes chocolate 😉 Secondly, the repairs required to the pedestal in the powder room are letting you down. Some people will judge you on the little room. Despite my little niggly points one of my favourite establishments in Salisbury.

When in Salisbury to celebrate Christmas with our family, my wife and I always make it a point to visit this delightful spot. The food here is exceptional and stands out from other places in the area. Really enjoyed the avocado on toast special along with the eggs and bacon. Fantastic quality food and you can see that care is taken with the presentation of each dish. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this spot is a gem that shouldn't be missed. Benedict and the Orangery BLT we tried were delicious. The iced matcha latte isn't sweetened (or very little) which makes it easy to drink. The English Breakfast tea was alright. The staff was friendly. The vibe is great but giving 4 stars as it's quite noisy when the place is full but the décor is lovely.

Very odd experience here on Sunday in this nice looking cafe. The waiting staff were nice but the chef made the experience unpleasant. My wife is gluten intolerant but importantly NOT coeliac. She therefore chooses to minimise gluten rather than eliminate it. She ordered a sausage sandwich on gluten-free bread. After a long wait the message came back via the waitress that they had run out of gluten-free sausages. "That's OK" my wife said, "I'm fine to eat normal gluten-containing sausages". The waitress went back to the open plan kitchen and we could clearly hear a male voice (the chef) raising his voice at her. The poor waitress then came back to say that the chef bizarrely refused to serve my wife the 'normal sausage' in gluten-free bread, even though that's what she'd requested and it was available (I had normal sausages in my order). She therefore had to choose something else that she didn't want off the menu (we would have left had we not been sat there for ages getting hungry). It made the experience awkward and farcical (I gave her one of my normal sausages). Wouldn't go again since unexpectedly the chef decides what you should be eating !!!

I had the BLT, however after eating it I suggest to anyone thinking of having anything toasted …DONT. The filling is lovely, the bread is lovely, but when you toast a bread that already has a hard crust you end up having a sandwich with a concrete crust. I would suggest if the orangery is going to toast hard crusted bread that they CUT THE CRUST off first or use different bread

The orangery has a lovely vibe about the place. The inside feels vintage in the best way and the food is delicious serving nice toasties and lunch bites, even if they are slightly on the pricey side! The outdoor seating does get really sunny so on a hot day be aware that you may find yourself getting a bit toasty, especially since the umbrellas were broken 😢. Fantastic location though right next to the river.

Staff needs to communicate clearly. My meal had half the ingredients missing, because they "ran out." No one bothered to tell me. Of course I would have ordered something else. The chef didn't tell the server, the server didn't notice (or care) that my dish wasn't right, and I ate some of it before I realized that it was not very good. Not very professional behaviour on their parts. Hopefully they were just having an off day. My partner's meal was good.

This place has the potential to be amazing yet the few flaws it does have are so massive that it make this place one of the worst places ever. 1st the sausage meat was not cooked fully and was not even warm, this is clearly a Health & Hygeine in Food Safety Issue and Trading Standards Food Inspector should be made aware before someone goes down with servere food poisoning. 2nd the staff are about the rudest staff ever that i have come accross, they seem to have a superiority complex and have a 100% careless attitude towards customers and customer service. I do not recommend this place due to the business ethos of the Owners clearly allowing their staff to do as they please when they please and how they please, i tried to contact the owners but the ownes have made it impossible for them to be contacted online, maybe because they would just get endless complaints. I shall just use the Boston tea Party instead from now forth.

What a wonderful day and a glorious location. My friend has never been here before, so we stopped for a coffee. It was very busy but we got a table inside, which was really good, as it can be hot. Ordered a cheese and onion toastie for me, which was very filling. My partner in crime had a greek salad, which was thoroughly enjoyed. We both ordered a latte. The only reason I didn't give a score of five, was because the coffee in my opinion was too strong. I would definitely recommend a visit 🙂

A nice place to eat with simple, but good, food. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5? They obviously put vinegar in the water when they poach their eggs, I would suggest that they use less as you can taste it! Also, I like my tea hot, (it wasn't). I don't put a lot of milk in, but if I had put a touch more in it would have been only lukewarm.

We have eaten here on many occasions and have always been extremely happy with the food and service. In fact we always rave about this restaurant to anyone vising Salisbury. We returned today for Brunch with the same expectations. Sadly, this was not the same experience. The menu has been radically altered and slimmed down since our last visit. I am a Vegetarian and like to eat healthily, but am also unable to eat eggs. There was, literally, nothing on the menu apart from a Vegan Fry Up or a Cheese Toastie that I would have been able to eat, had I liked greasy food - I don't. In the past there has been Mushrooms on Sourdough Toast - delicious, or homemade Houmous and oven cooked tomatoes - really yummy. I know this sounds like a first world problem but I was hungry and really looking forward to the meal. The restaurant was, also, much less busy than our previous visits and we are wondering if the change of menu may have also impacted other patrons' decision to attend. The service was still as good as ever but I ended up just having a coffee and a smoothie and returning home for breakfast. We won't be coming back.

Nice looking place but was a bit disappointed that the website menu isn’t up to date and items and prices are very different to those advertised. The coffee was good quality but not hot enough- neither was the hot milk with it, and the sandwiches, although well filled, were rather soggy - a good quality sourdough would have fared better and been more appropriate for the price. Service was cold- on inquiring politely for a wifi code I was met with a brusque ’no’ with no explanation. Beware- prices are ambitious but service is included as an expectation at the end.

The first time I went to the Salisbury Orangery, I’ve got to say it was brilliant. Great food, great service. I went back six weeks ago and it wasn’t so good but I put it down to it being really quite busy that day. However, I went back today and it was dreadful. I waited 10 minutes for any of the four staff to acknowledge we were there and find us a table. There was no one waiting ahead of us, and tables were free but the prioritised sorting coffees over getting us to a table. We then had another 10 minutes before we ordered and a further 10 minutes before anything came to the table. A coke and a smoothie shouldn’t have taken so long, food I can understand. Then, the sausage sandwich had way too much watercress on it which made the whole thing bitter, and the bacon on the poached eggs and bacon was burnt. Not overcooked/crispy, but burnt. Throughout, the staff working had an air of not really caring at all about what they were doing. No please, no thank you, no ‘is everything all right’, just short answers to questions asked whilst they stared off into the distance. I’ll not be back but, judging on how they behaved today, they’ll not care about that anyway.

The Salisbury Orangery has been my go-to coffee spot since they opened. The staff are so friendly and their coffee is delicious! During my last visit I treated myself to their full breakfast and I'm so glad I did - probably the best breakfast I've had in a long time 😋 Looking at the reviews regarding the temperature of the building I would just like to point out it is a Grade 2 listed building built in the 17th century so obviously it's not going to be the warmest building you've ever sat in. It's also not the fault of the owners or the poor staff who have to deal with people moaning over something they have no control over - if you're that cold, keep your coat on or order a bowl of soup to warm you up.

My last visit was June 2023 and it was the same dead-phone at that time, but I chose to drive there and had a great meal and i cannot recall whether I said anything about the dead-phone at the time, but this time, with so many places closing, I’m not sure whether this one is still open. Happy to delete this review if I hear the phone is fixed.

Fantastic service amazing staff food perfect (Nigel the chef) great setting and accommodated 4 adults and 3 large dogs at very short notice . The lovely lady behind the bar was what every hospitality business needs.

I recently visited The White Hart and had an absolutely wonderful time! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The place has a charming ambiance, perfect for a relaxing meal. The food was nothing short of amazing—every dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. The ingredients tasted fresh, and you could tell a lot of care went into crafting each plate. Whether you’re there for a casual meal or a special occasion, White Hart truly delivers an exceptional dining experience. I spent a lovely time here, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and a cozy atmosphere!

The food is pricy. However the quality doesn’t match it. The waitress was so rude and anti-children. Having live in Salisbury so many years. This js the worst cafe. Not family friendly at all. Do not recommend.
