Very good neighborhood pub atmosphere in Whitechapel. The food is mainly Thai, very good and plentiful. There are also traditional burgers there, of course. Large selection of ales and other beers. Anecdotes on the East End from Jack the Ripper to the Walls.

Great old boozer. 1721 I believe it dates back to. I went in for a quiet Guinness. Football was on, and I had a great time. Great atmosphere, very helpful staff.

A historic pub with lots of interesting history and a more traditional atmosphere. The drinks selection was OK, they'd run out of cask beers on our visit which was disappointing. The attitude of the staff has put me off returning - a customer had paid to listen to his choice of music on the jukebox, and the staff were skipping everything that he had selected and letting their friends select things for free. Totally unacceptable to be blatantly doing this in front of customers.

This is hands down our favourite pub; we had our wedding after party here! My husband approves of the excellent way the landlord, Breen, takes care of the beer pipes, never a bad pint served here! We also very much enjoy the Thai food served. The staff are also lovely and welcoming

🚇 Aldgate East 🍺 £5.30 Amstel ❤️ A proper old school London high street pub. . The White Hart is located on forever busy Whitechapel High Street and just a stones throw away from Aldgate East Tube. . This neck of the woods is undergoing massive redevelopment at present, the local landscape has changed irreversibly over the past couple of years which sadly saw the end of a local and excellent pub The Still & Star, this pub is being replaced by towers of steel, glass and concrete (progress) ☹️ . The White Hart looks like it has been slotted in to the row of buildings it sits along with. This narrow pub is quite simple architecturally and has a traditional pub frontage. At the right hand side of the pub is Gunthorpe Street, a cobblestone narrow alleyway which was a location of one of Jack The Rippers murders. I had a peer up the alleyway and it does have a moody atmospheric feel to it. . Inside, this boozer is long and narrow and does stretch back a fair bit. The decor is traditional with a wooden floor, a bright red panelled bar and lots of bric-à-brac on the walls and ledges. . I visited on a Saturday afternoon and the atmosphere was very lively with a mix of a few locals, tourists and a few lively characters who had been on the sauce all day and had just come back from The Arsenal win over Man U. The beer choice here is simple, I ordered a pint of Amstel which was a good drop and my cheapest pint of the day at £5.30. I must mention the Guvnor, as mentioned earlier there were a few fellas who were raising the noise levels and he calmly kept them in check. I spoke with him briefly, he was from the same part of Ireland my family are from, he’s a big fella and was well in command of this E1 pub. . I love a high street pub, for me there is always that little edge to them about who’s in attendance or who’s going to walk in the door. The welcome and service here were top notch and you will be well looked after. The White Hart is a proper London pub and is a great example of how all pubs used to be around this manor. Couldn't review the food as we didn't have any we just popped in for a drink. "Real and cask ales" is what drew us in but there weren't any! Told they had run out! 8 pumps all ran out hmm strange or maybe just not had any for a while.

This pub is from 18th century, must visit. However a proper refurbushing ofvthe interior would upgrade the experience.

Great pub, the landlord was friendly and chatty and the girl behind the bar was also very friendly and quick with serving us. Good mix of people in there, all having fun and singing along to the jukebox. Can't comment on the food as we only had beers, but there was a great selection of beers and all reasonably priced for the location. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area

Nice bar to drink beer after work. The service behind the counter wasn't very friendly towards us foreigners. The Thai food is tasty, but you have to pay for it as soon as it comes to the table, which was a bit annoying.

The pub is fab! Popped in for a quick drink after sight seeing. Barmaids were so quick to serve and welcoming. Saw the food coming out from the kitchen and WOW! Thai food as well as english menu. We ordered beef penang and pork pad Thai......FABULOUS 😋 What a little gem. Husband and wife from thailand cooking....please give them a applause for stunning food. Go visit the White Hart pub Aldgate. You will not be disappointed x

We came here because of the football atmosphere, the Spaniards won, which was also reflected in the mood. The business itself has its own vibe, but don't expect the beer here to be super bottled. It has neither foam nor taste. Disappointing for us.

Decent pub with a good selection of beers. Staff are friendly especially Ian, and you don't have to wait long to be served.

This pub is great by me. As old as the hills and although relatively small, has a nice British/English pub atmosphere. Highlight for me is that it serves Adnams Mosaic Pale Ale, and if that's off, you have Beavertown Neck Oil for a decent pint of ale. Can't say I've ever eaten in there or stayed all night, but for a few pints and a catch up, it gets my vote.

A proper old fashioned pub that is loud, raucous, fun, and non pretentious. It might be small, but it is mighty. Good choice of drinks. Didn't eat there, so cannot comment on the food. Service is prompt, yet friendly. Ticks the boxes.

Top destination to watch the football. Was very popular. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Took a little while to get food. But it was delicious, fresh, authentic Thai food. Air was a little stale inside the bar - could do with an air change every now and then. Small place, old, historic and popular.

It used to be a good local pub but not anymore. They really need to improve their customer service skills. The Blind Beggar or The Hospital Tavern (just around the corner) offer a much better atmosphere and service.

A nice historic bar, good service, and drinks. If you want to duo into the Ripper trail, this is worth a stop or just for a friendly place to chill with a pint.

On entering your pub/restaurant wefound it homely and comfortable. We ordered food and drink with the waitress this was prompt. Food brought finely quick and the presentation was beautiful. What happened then well not sure. We had no check backs to see if food was good. Until we finished and a young waiter took our plates . That's was it no one came back to check if we wanted any dessert or drinks or the bill. I'm in hospitality myself and never leave my customers like this or I would be told by management hope5 this was a over sight on the staff. Sorry to drag on. We all enjoyed the food thoroughly

My friends and I were having a good time chatting and drinking after a dinner together until the bartender asked two of our friends (who were not drinking) to leave. He said “if you don’t have a drink you have to leave” and so we did. Don’t come here unless you want your evening ruined!

I am very excited that my wife and I visited this exceptional old British bar/restaurant they have perfect beer for pretty much decent money, friendly service and good food. If I have a trip to London again I'd love to go back for a few drafts. Thank you for making my holiday enjoyable and also the memories of when I lived in London for a few years.

Very historical feel pub with a nice selection of ales and friendly staff, happy to chat. We stopped by for one drink and it was the ideal place for it, but the pub-grub looks solid as well, so I would be happy to pop back for some food another time.

A traditional pub offering a delicious Sunday Carvery, a generous portion of meat is offered and you can have a cut of each joint if you’d like to, the meat is very tasty and succulent. Help yourself to the great selection of perfectly cooked vegetables, top it all off with the thick, flavourful gravy. Puddings, we were told are homemade… the sticky toffee was mouthwatering. The wine is very reasonably priced and very good. Parking is easy on the high Street or there is a carpark opposite which is not pricey.

Friendly staff, great food and ideal for pre-gig in The Old Stables. We would highly recommend this pub having eaten there before and always been impressed. Check out the chicken and chorizo tagine. It was delicious.

A pleasant historic pub, one of London's oldest. Famous for Jack the Ripper. A good spot for a small group to watch some sports. There is Thai food here, separate from the bar itself. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bathrooms here are clean in the back. It is a quaint place for a quick pint.

Lovely spot. The staff were friendly and went out of the way to get a recommendation for a Greek restaurant. We ended up eating there. They have a Thai kitchen and it was very good. Fantastic spot.
