The best restaurants in Melcombe Regis Weymouth and Portland South West

Atmosphere and hospitality was so sweet. I got the vegetable chow mein and curry sauce (came with prawn crackers) , big portions and came up to £8 overall. Worth the price!

Positive - We have been coming to Weymouth for the last 5 years and we always visit The Palm House for breakfast at least once every visit. The Palm House is a nice, friendly, quirky place for a fry up. The ingredients in a full English breakfast taste like good quality and it’s decent value for money. Negative - Yesterday morning, for the first time in all our visits half of our group were very disappointed in their breakfast experience. Firstly the wait for our hot drinks and food were extremely long. We waited 20mins for our hot drinks and 40mins for our breakfasts. As usual our 3 of us had fry ups and other than the wait they tasted really nice. However 1 of our group had an omelette (£8) and when it came out it was very small, about the size of a saucer and had a small bit of lettuce. Nowhere near (£8) worth. The last a pancake with strawberries and bananas (£8). When it came out (after 40mins) it had 1 strawberry cut up into lots of small pieces and about 5 small, thin slices of banana. What made it worse was the folded up pancake was raw! That order went back as it was not fit to eat and they cooked another pancake. To make sure this pancake wasn’t raw they actually overcooked it to the point it was crispy and my group member could snap it. Sadly it turned out to be a disappointing visit for our group but because of our previous experiences we would still return next year to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Let me start with the staff who were all wonderful. However dress code for staff should always be smart casual and I feel this could have been better. The environment was very loud and felt chaotic on arrival. Toilets where clean enough but very small and the big mirror in my cubicle was oddly to imposing. The food , well the executive chef for Prezzo needs replacing. The children's strawberry lemonade (vile). Harvester which is meant to be a more budget friendly counterpart has this product well done. Macdonalds cherry lemonade also tasty , Prezzo which markets itself at the higher end of hight Street has no idea taste and presentation very weak. Goats cheese salad some great flavours but portion to small and the price at nearly £20 ridiculous. The lasagna portions and price was also disappointing I was left thinking I should of gone to the chippy or got a ready made lasagna and salad from M&S. The kids opted for the pudding of Pizza dough strips and chocolate sauce dusted in a fine sugar. If this dish is as imaginative as the executive chef can get ,they need to get back in the kitchen and see that " pudding" returned half touched to the KP. Alternatively take that dish out to tables to see the faces of the people that are waiting in anticipation for a yummy pud only to be met with a dry, crispy , bland flat dough to dip in Nutella. The alternatives are an organic lolly, a sorbet , a plain ice cream. So many things you could do but no. The wine, I had a blush and a red both tasted watery , the red had no body and the blush too sharp. At the end the bill was wrong but not really the girls fault , two many deals or alternative to understand what was what for the staff. The bill was still £53 with kids eating free , I've never paid so much for something so tasteless and uninspiring. People who know good food and drink , have experience of this globally . Who appreciate good quality ingredients, value, will think twice about this product. This is the third time I've experienced Prezzo and my first review. I can safely say Bournemouth and Reading aren't up to much either. Prezzo you Italian fool I honestly can't believe you are still in business.

Best Fish 'n Chips in Weymouth.

Kebabs, pizza , burgers and more. Great value, really tasty chicken. Arrived really quick. Would definitely recommend.

We are here last night prior to the “One night in Dublin” show. It was awful. We ordered 2 x fish and chips but were told there was only 1 left (poor for a show night) so my partner had the fish and chips and I had the turkey and ham pie with roast potatoes, carrots and green beans. The roast potatoes were so hard I couldn’t stick my fork into them, it was clear they had been reheated. The veg was overcooked and bland. The pie was ok, plenty of meat. The fish and chips were just average and left a bad taste in partner’s throat. We will not be eating here again.

As always the staff were fab - friendly, helpful and professional The food was lovely - the beer and the wine are always great The downside to this visit (& we visit often) was the loos - they were a total mess and it’s not the staffs fault - they are all super busy looking after the customers - they do not stop their whole shift - I think there needs to be more staff per shift We will be back we love the pub, the staff and the setting/views

When going to restaurant you had to sit it one place for the entire holiday, they said it was from 830 to 1030 in the morning but if you didnt get there at 830 your food was put out and it would go cold I was sharing a room but when i came down at 815 i was put on one side of the room and my friend was put on other it was a joke. The waiting staff were rude when serving apart from the one day.
