Poor bar food... Really not great. Asked for help from staff who turned from efficient to rude quite quickly. Overall poor performance.

Lovely food and drinks, right on the old harbour in Weymouth.

We had an excellent lunch here, I had beef and my wife had the nut roast, the beef was perfect and I also ate all the veg, very unusual for me. The nut roast was also very good apparently. Heartily recommended, just a shame that you are so far away from Market Harborough. Martin and Sharon Broome

Great staff member who convinced me with tasters that there are some badger beers that I like, never thought it could happen but the outlander range is a fresh new style for badger. Hazy and fruity IPAs. Beautiful building that's looked after incredibly well, comfortable and welcoming. Great that it is dog friendly too.

Managed to get a table in the courtyard without having made a reservation, a nice menu and tasty food although I felt the food could have been a little hotter but probably would return

Pre booking essential, on arrival we had pre dinner drinks and was then shown to our table which had an amazing view of the quay, we were given time to browse the menu and then placed our order, the meal came about 10 minutes or so later and was well presented, cooked to perfection and tasted delicious, we had ordered more drinks with the meal and were given time to Finnish them before we asked for the bill, overall experience I'd give it a 10 out of 10 will be booking again.

The Sunday lunch only two choices of meat, we had beef very chewy. Potatoes bland not alot veg. Service mediocre. Not worth the money .

Went for a Sunday roast, but they had already run out, so don't leave it until the evening or you may be disappointed. However, the food we did have was excellent and the IPA spot on.

Tourists are not made to feel welcome

Stayed 2 nights. Can't speak highly enough of the room (spotless), the food, the service, the beer and the breakfast. It's just a brilliantly run perfect pub.

So we went here for a birthday dinner over the weekend overall the food and service was good. My only real let down was when the server tried to bring my main out with my starter which didn't go down well I explained I'd asked for starters and then mains and it was odd as only my main was bought out with the starter. All the mains then came out some time later and while you could see all the others were fresh hot and steaming mine had obviously been sat under the lamp on on the side as it was luke warm and dried out. Normally I would of complained and asked for another however I didn't want to cause a scene as it was a celebration.

Great place on the harbour for food, lots of menu options, the chilli burger did not disappoint, staff were friendly and helpful, the courtyard at the back was quaint and nice place to eat in

Very poor place to go and visit, the bar / some kichen staff are very rude, One pushed past me and said out my way this is working pub when I was just waiting at the bar to be served. Food was slow to come out Partly cold think it had being sat under the hot plate for a long time., the Glasses with our drinks and was not clean.

Good traditional menu. Very thorough checking allergy info. Can get rather busy in season so best to book. Nicely decorated, clean & cosy panelled dining room.

What a great pub. Popped in for dinner, hadn't booked but Nick pointed us to a free table. He took the order, food arrived very quickly, very tasty. Clara was buzzing around constantly, very good work ethic. Overall an excellent experience, highly recommended

Very disappointed went in for Sundy roast and they had run out...to be fair it was Bank Holiday Sunday.

Staff have absolutely no interest in serving customers... Would rather keep themselves busy doing anything but, I stood at an empty bar and was ignored by three members of staff filling fridges up and putting glasses away.

I STOOD AT THE BAR WHILE THE TWO STAFF, A BLONDE LADY AND A TALL YOUNG MAN HAD A CONVERSATION AMONGST THEMSELVES , WHEN THEY DECIDED TO ACKNOWLEDGE ME (the paying customer) I ASKED FOR TWO COFFIES AND DRINKS BUT WAS TOLD THE COFFEE MACHINE WAS BEING CLEANED AT 20.45 ,IT WAS VERY OBVIOUS WHY THERE WERE NO CUSTOMERS. I'M NOT A TOURIST, I LIVE HERE.! TERRIBLE SERVICE. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED AND PERHAPS FIND A JOB WHICH DOESN'T INVOLVE DEALING WITH THE PAYING PUBLIC.

We came to Weymouth on holiday and wanted somewhere dog friendly after a long drive. Good location, great quality food, we even got 33% off due to a promotion on offer. Pleasant atmosphere, nice staff and dog bowls inside to keep the pups hydrated. Would visit again 100%.

My partner and I have been to The Ship for lunch multiple times and every time has been fantastic!! The food is always hot and well presented, the staff are friendly and helpful. When we were there yesterday (Saturday 17 August), the gentleman that served our drinks even offered to take them to our table, he didn't have to! It's little touches like this that make people want to go back. Brilliant experience. My partner and I both work in hospitality and appreciate how hard it can be. Well done The Ship. Can't wait for our next visit!!!

Had a few drinks and food,unfortunately the very best I can say for the food is ok. Staff friendly and attentive and a good selection of drinks.

Lovely pub overlooking the marina Service could be better.staff seemed overwhelmed at busy times. For us we were amazed that the place shuts at 10pm!!!

A decent pint from Badger Brewery

Came here in 2023 and it seemed a nicer place back then. Staff were bot overly polite and the place just seemed a bit neglected. Toilets had either no toilet roll in one cubicle, no toilet seat in one and no lock on the third. Food was not bad, but plenty nicer places on the same street.

Nice beer, nice outside space. Bar service (to get a drink) seems to be a cross between a post office queue and pushing in. Bar staff the normal clueless "erm who's next please ?" Didn't eat but food looked ok. People on next table didn't like the fact they had to go and get cutlery.

Poor value and not friendly staff

Average food nice environment shame upstairs was closed on the evening we went marked the place down a little for this. Service got marked down because, although still more than an hour before last food orders, the staff were taking away the table menus as we arrived.

Once again this is a great place to rest have a drink and bite to eat, always go here when in Weymouth

Visited after being turned away from another pub on the other side of the harbour because we had a 7 month old with us. We were given a warm welcome and had a very tasty lunch in the garden at the back. Definitely recommend.

Dog friendly pub with friendly staff. Great choice of food, but there was a long wait between finishing our starters & receiving our mains!

Popped in for early tea (4.30pm). It was the pub we found in the vacinity that had tables and chairs appose to bar stools (for ease of disabled people in party), did food, and allowed dogs. It wasn't too busy but people were friendly and the beer battered fish and chips were great. The triple cooked chips were delicious. Its hard to pick fault but my only gripe (and this is being picky) would be salt grinder instead of salt shaker but at least we we're getting quality sea salt instead of rock salt. The ales on pump were from the Dorset brewery Badger and were very nice so much so I bought some bottles from Morrison's later.

Ham cheese toast that was it on the plate no salad garnish the stout just like having cold coffee I wish I went to Wetherspoon at least you know what you get drinkerble

This became our favourite pub to eat and drink in during our weeks holiday in June. We pre-booked our table this holiday to make sure we could get a table inside . Mostly served by Kaci , Sharon and Nick and got to know them to chat to throughout the week and good to feel like valued customers. All staff so friendly , efficient and welcoming. Even helped to carry drinks to the table for me from the bar . Sometimes table service when quieter, other times we ordered at the bar. Great atmosphere .Tables cleared quickly. All meals were consistently fantastic and beer and cider kept well. Worth pre-booking a table if wanting to eat, as when short staffed a couple of evenings they were only serving food for prebooked customers. Nice outside seating areas both in front of the pub, and a courtyard at the back . Thanks to all the staff for excellent service , food and drinks throughout our holiday . We will definitely be back when next in Weymouth!

I haven't eaten here but I've seen the food appear when it was quite busy and it looked lovely. My issue with the Ship is the short measures on pints. Last night, both pints were way down, one more than 10% down. When I asked, very politely, for that is how I am, for it to be topped up, I received the worst look and a very begrudging top up, which was still a half inch shy of the rim. Given this attitude, I have to believe this could even be a management-driven initiative. Next time I go, I will photograph, or video the delivery of my drinks and, if they are below reasonable, I will post on social media channels and copy Trading Standards.

This can be a very busy, pub. Ordering food and drink at the bar may include queuing. There is seating, outside front and rear, with plenty of indoor seating. The menu caters to all dietary requirements. However, the food is mediocre but reasonably priced. The Ship Inn is a historical building and is located overlooking Weymouth harbour. It is in a great location for the shops and the beach, and only a short walk to the train station.

Hall & Woodhouse pub food is not bad not an extensive menu but okay. Inside nice lay out courtyard with seating and upstairs dining with views over the harbour.

We had the meal deal of fish and chips 2 for 20 pounds absolutely stunning highly recommended

Went into the Ship on Wednesday (12th) with my wife and stepson for lunch but was told that if we wanted to eat we would need to book a table, so we did for the Friday (14th) at 1pm. Greeted politely at the bar, opened a tab without any issues and we're shown to our table, which happened to overlook the Quay. Fish Friday had an offer of 2 cod/chips/peas for £20 which we accompanied with a pint and half of Henry Weston vintage cider. Food arrived in good Time, about 15 mins, was piping hot and proved to be very tasty. In fact some of the best fish n chips we've had. Good value for money and well worth the visit.

Great food and excellent service in this quayside pub. There is a lovely enclosed garden to sit in and online ordering if you don't fancy a trip to the bar.

Really lovely bar with an even lovelier courtyard. We had the weather on our side when we visited and spent many hours outside in the courtyard enjoying drinks and food. All staff were so helpful and friendly and the food was beautiful

We were served by Reece who was so friendly and welcoming. He told us where to visit and to watch the sunset if we get a chance. Really nice pub with such lovely, helpful staff.

Fantastic food, lovely fursty ferret beer, brilliant customer service, spotlessly clean and tidy establishment, definitely worth a visit .

Ok, beer is getting expensive everywhere, but this place is mental. It's not a particularly premium establishment but the prices suggest that you have entered a wormhole in Weymouth and emerged in London, in 2050. Food prices are ridiculous and FAR better can be found in many, many pubs and restaurants in the area for much less. But, the beer prices are offensive, £6.25 for a non-premium lager and with a good 10mm missing from the top, followed by a look of incredulity when you ask for a full pint despite being financially ra#ed in real time.

Not very helpful with a vegan diet, not willing to go out of their way to accommodate needs uf they are not exactly as the menu says unlike the excellent service at the Hall abd Woodhouse in Lower Odcombe.

We have been into this place a few times while on holiday, and every time the food is spot on. You order at the bar, to one of the friendly staff. Food took around 15-20 minutes to come out, and it was very hot. I had the double cheese burger, which had a hint of spice in, and was amazing. We also had the chicken wings, Ham, egg and chips, a fish finger sandwich. It's not the cheapest of places, nor is it the most expensive. Would I go there again 100% would I recommend 100%.

Lovely place. We had there wedding dinner with families. Service above and beyond. Food delicious. Also we been for lunch amazing and you can feel freshness in food. For sure we will be back.

Barman was welcoming & attentative but the food was awful! A used dog bowl was sat on the window sill at our table,, Table was sticky which was unexpected as we had booked in advance.

Nice pub style restaurant. I just had a drink here. A beer on behalf of Coffee stout. It smells like caramel and tastes like coffee. Delicious! Recommended.

Nice place. Polite, helpful people. Order at the counter. No servers. I had fish and chips. The fish was overcooked and dry. The chips were warm. My son had the chicken pie which was ok. We had the sloppy chilli burger, mac and cheese with bacon and fish burger- all were delicious, empty plates! Puddings were good too. Drinks great. Lovely comfy chairs. Loved it! Very dog friendly, water bowls inside and dog treats on the bar.

Shown to our booked table with no issues , given children menu . Shame it had no price for the meals listed . Had to return to the bar to ask , as it was burger night we were tempted to upgrade to an adult burger . We decided at £7.50 it was ok as the ice cream was included . Ordered at the bar which isn’t something we usually do at. Hall and Badger restaurant. I guess this is due to outside seating area getting busy during the day .

I had to eat half of the fish before it would fit on the plate, and it was a large plate. Stopped off for lunch after a long walk. Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Friendy service and good prices. I'd definitely return. (And have the fish again).
