We held our wedding reception here in 2024. Today we celebrate our first anniversary. Once again Nadine Sharon and the team went above and beyond to make us feel special. We both had Sunday roast and desserts. The roast was definitely one of our favourites and we've had a few in other local venues . Thank you so much . We will be back again with the family for future celebrations. Mike and Di Irvine

Why not allow families to sit in the umpteen empty tables upstairs rather than having to stand in the crowded downstairs, or in this case turn down the business?

Avoid. Had a table booked upstairs in the restaurant for 6 people on Saturday 22nd March for 8pm-table had been booked about 3 weeks in advance. We were shown to our table and after about 15 minutes are food order was taken, straight away the waitress came back to tell us that 4 of the 6 meals we'd ordered had already sold out and we'd have to order alternatives. They had run out of steaks and chilli on a Saturday night!!! We were going to walk out at this point but were put at ease by the waitress telling us that all the other meals on the menu were available and it was all delicious, which turned out to be nonsense. The fish pie ordered as an alternative was the worst fish pie ever, totally dry with not a hint of sauce and topped with almost whole new potatoes-awful. One of the other party replaced there meal with mac & cheese that was just a bowl of pasta swimming in oil and grease and covered in some really odd black powder. This pub used to be an excellent venue for a meal, but seems to have gone very much downhill. Would not recommend to anyone

Has an atmosphere of a McDonald's, get them in, get them out. Staff do not want to be there clearly being run by poor management. The food is not fresh; it's just a very boring over priced cook-chill menu, this makes it easier to hire a not so inspiring cheap cook, NOT A CHEF.

Seems ok for a drinking night out with live music, and people seemed to be having fun. Was a bit dirty and didn't seem very cared for, though. So depends what you're looking for, really. Wouldn't say it's a bad place but could definitely be better.

Super quick service and food for a Sunday lunch with dog and toddler in tow - couldn’t have been more accommodating with both. Recently moved here & thought we would have a Roast as it was Sunday. Google said Ship Inn, Custom Quay, Weymouth. 21 day aged Roast Beef served Pink (as per picture NOT Pink) with, Roast Potatoes(3), (Tiny) portion of seasonal vegetables incl spicy red cabbage with white cabbage under other veg, (cold) Yorkshire pud. 2 Roast Beef, 1 Cappuccino & 1 Badger Stout (too cold). £ just under £45. Unfortunately my rating is 1 Star, Food was bland, cold & tasted strange plus Beef not pink & sliced too thick. Stout too cold. Appearance & Staff great. First pub of Best 3 in Weymouth.

We popped in here for a meal before John Bishop at Weymouth Pavillion. We had booked in advance for 5 people. This pub is lovely. Great ambience and lovely welcome as we opened the door and stepped inside. We ordered drinks and found our table. The whole time we were there approx 1.5 hours was excellent. There appeared only to be 2 persons doing everything, serving food and drinks, taking orders, clearing tables, but you would never have known this. Food was excellent, and served in food time. Our server was Dan I found out bit later. I'm sorry I didn't get the young lady's name that worked alongside him but both were outstanding. If they were my staff I would be beyond proud and I told them so too. What a great experience we will definitely be back and soon!! Thank you

Had the smothered chicken. Didnt want to complain as was with family but the food was terrible. Tiny portion of chips, dreadful corn slices and the chicken had been cremated so it was as tough as boot leather. And £15.95 added insult to injury. Felt utterly robbed.

1st time visiting in a number of years, as I was inn the area and had arranged to meet friends. Quick and efficient booking system, meant I had a table reserved. It was a Friday night, so relatively busy but still managed to get served our drinks quickly and they continued to flow regularly. Ordered food, which was delivered to our table after no more than a 30 minute wait. A very good sized, juicy & tasty burger was devoured fairly quickly! Overall was a good as I remembered from my very first visit...

Food is good pub grub: well cooked, tasty and a good portion. People who work there are friendly, polite and helpful and its a very pleasant place to go. Also, they allow dogs, and we go everywhere with our beautiful posenco, Sally. My only gripe is that they've stopped selling the only stout I've ever liked, and apparently won't be selling it anymore!! This was a coffee stout, and particularly good for a female palate. Pretty fed up about it as their ales are hoppy and male palate designed. Please think more about what women might like: we don't all like wine and cocktails!!

Stunning little gem! Ate here today after visiting Monkey world and having found no where else to eat. Was a little dubious with it not being a big named chain pub. Absolutely didn't need to be. We've been on holiday all week and have eaten at Harvester, Bewers Fayre and the Haven holiday site pub and all have been massively over priced and meh. The Ship Inn was wonderful. Really amazing food. Reasonably priced too. Cost 6 of us under £100 for really lovely food and 6 pint sized soft drinks. At the other places cost over £100 with 2 of our party not with us and the food was plain and ordinary. The Ships Inn food was genuinely the nicest I've had in a long time. It doesn't have a huge menu but what they do serve is lovely, home cooked, fresh food. My 16 year old had a steak burger and stated that "no other burger will compare from now on". Lovely staff, good food, and a good old fashioned pub feel.

So we went here for a birthday dinner over the weekend overall the food and service was good. My only real let down was when the server tried to bring my main out with my starter which didn't go down well I explained I'd asked for starters and then mains and it was odd as only my main was bought out with the starter. All the mains then came out some time later and while you could see all the others were fresh hot and steaming mine had obviously been sat under the lamp on on the side as it was luke warm and dried out. Normally I would of complained and asked for another however I didn't want to cause a scene as it was a celebration.
