Perfect place, really friendly staff, amazing food and lots of plates to choose from. wonderful drinks and a very comfortable atmosphere. The Cakes and antiques on display are very inviting. 10/10!!

We heard a rumour about this cafe... and my gosh did it surpass every expectation we could have imagined! Amazing service and the best home made cafe food! Plenty of inside and outside seating and dog friendly!We will be coming back when we’re in the area again!

If you’re in Illminster and want some good food or even ok food DONT go here if I was you the Riverside is better. Poor hygiene that I’ve witnessed and dog hair I’m my cake Lovely looking place but who ever is running it needs to stop and think about what they are doing!! Safe bet is going to the riverside or burger king on the roundabout!! Worst coffee & even dry cake I was not impressed

Came in earlier this evening with a big order. Great, friendly service. Fish cooked freshly & tasted lovely. Treated the family as down from London. I'll be back next time I visit. Thank you the meal was delicious 😋 See you soon.

The days when this pub opened as often as this website suggests are long gone. It's a part time pub; the opening hours are on a board but not complete, but presumably known to those who are regular drinkers there.

Overpriced sandwiches ordered a cheese and pickle don’t know what happened to the cheese it was just a tiny sprinkling of cheese. Salad on the side was unimaginative. £23 for 2 sandwiches and one bowl of tasteless chips wish we had looked around.

Only call in when travelling to Chard, always make detour to get my fish and chips here. The batter and fish is the best I have ever had, from Blackpool, Yorkshire, all over UK. Best wishes.

Use as meeting place for Carnival activities

Stopped in while away on work. Great value. Lamb balti with rice and bread was hot and spiced well

Sunday roast was lovely in a nice decorated interior

Came in for a quick bite, hadn't made a reservation but a table was available and we were seated swiftly. Service was pretty quick, we ordered two smoked salmon and egg on toast, drinks and a fruit scone. The wait wasn't too long, the food tasted good and it was a nice atmosphere. My only niggle was that after we'd finished no one cleared our table even though they were cleaning empty tables. We were sat for a good 20-30mins before I asked to pay and our table still had all our dirty plates on it. Otherwise it was ok.

After owing thousands of pounds in rent to my very patient dad who gave him multiple chances, the owner of Riverside Cafe Ilminster, Ethan Parker was rightly asked to leave the premises. This is how he left the building, still owing thousands. He’s moving his “business” to Axminster very soon under a new name. If you happen to be a landlord in that area then do be aware. Do not trust this extremely immature boy.

What a beautiful cafe, such friendly staff and the food was amazing. Reasonable prices, lovely atmosphere Definitely come again.

Nice enough - husband really liked, I was less enamoured. Can't complain about portion size, if anything far too generous. Shop could do with looking a bit nicer (do you want to eat food from somewhere which, in the public areas, has gaffer tape on the benches and posters/cards for events that happened months ago?) I'd visit again, but only if I was hungry/it was raining heavily and didn't fancy walking a bit further from home.
