We heard a rumour about this cafe... and my gosh did it surpass every expectation we could have imagined! Amazing service and the best home made cafe food! Plenty of inside and outside seating and dog friendly! We will be coming back when we’re in the area again!

We stopped by this lovely family-run eatery on our journey back to London from Cornwall. My wife stumbled upon the place whilst googling for places to eat lunch near Ilminster junction. We were a bit sceptical to be honest as it was a bit of detour for us but what a pleasant surprise this gem of a place turned out to be. Its located in a beautiful green area and the lovely lady who runs the place was super friendly when we arrived. Hot food options were slighlty limited but my wife loved their vegan goodness bowl so much that we ordered an extra portion. Kids loved the freshly made susage rolls and baguettes. Their home-made brownie and double- chocolate muffin was so good that my son who normally doesnt eat desserts said it was one of the best brownies he has tasted. All in all this was a great find enroute and highly recommended if you are travelling to or via Ilmisnter.

This is a lovely place to visit. Very friendly service, really tasty, freshly prepared food (vegan or otherwise) and a good pot if tea as well! Interesting green shopping - fill your own shall I, vinegar etc. Really pleasant setting - Not now in Ilminster itself, a little way outside at Whitelackington (closer to A303) on a pretty country estate with plenty of free parking a d nearby walking. A real hidden green gem

First time visit to this cafe today. They sell vegan/vegetarian foods in the shop like a health food shop. Went to the cafe side. Ordered flat white coffee and a piece of chocolate torte. Very rich but lovely. Reasonably price. Lovely ambience. Dogs can go too. Would recommend. Can park outside or in street for an hour or park in Tescos car park up to 3 hours.

Had the shakshuka(May be the wrong spelling), eggs in a tomato sauce, I just about sucked the veneer off the plate it was that good. I am a coffee snob and they make the he best coffee around, trust me it's true. Oh and they are also just amazing people, I am just sad that I can't go in more often, oh and did I say that have awesome cake that my wife just loves.

Stopped at the pretty town of Ilminster on the way to Taunton. The Green House was a real delight to eat at. I had the lentil pie and salad. Excellent!! My husband had the chocolate macaroon and coffee. He said that the macaroon was very fresh and mouth watering. The coffee is exceptional. I wonder what brand they use? High recommended.

Whether you just want a cake and a coffee, or a more substantial meal there is plenty of choice, everything is locally sourced and delicious. Beautiful eco-friendly paints, gifts, hand and useful items including bamboo toothbrushes ranging through to non-plastic glitter. You can also take your bags or boxes to buy a range of dry goods AND get your washing up liquid or laundry liquids replenished. What is not to LOVE about this place??

We went here with friends and what a fabulous quirky coffee shop. The owner and her daughter were great fun and very friendly. Lots of homemade cakes and salad bowls with a great gluten free range. The cheese scones were the best I have tasted and my coffee was spot on (not an easy task!) service was faultless and if your looking for somewhere extra special to go with very competitive prices this is the place to go

This quirky little business in the town centre is a little gem. It offers teas, coffee and cakes but also light snacks, all gluten free, in a relaxed atmosphere. There is also a lovely gift shop where you just might some little masterpieces by the proprietor George who specialises in 'upcycled and recycled' furniture and furnishings. Quaint and quirky and quality.

When we go on holiday we always look for something different. WOW did we find it this time. Such a lovely cafe, so friendly and with so many beautiful things to peruse and buy. The coffee was excellent, the food to die for and to top it all, service by way of the singing hostess. Such a wonderful voice as well. If we are down that way again then we shall definitely make a detour to go and visit this lovely cafe once more.

During the course of 2016, this already well established Ilminster based business relocated to its new larger location offering an even greater mix of upcycled items for the home which includes furnishings, ladies clothing and locally handmade gifts and at the time of writing, Christmas decorations with a twist.

Set in the heart of Ilminster the Green House is a wonderfully eccentric mix of creative minds and delicious food mixed with a large portion of warmth and friendliness. You are greeted like old friends as soon as you enter this little treasure trove decorated with unique up cycled items. There is a cosy café area and the coffee and cakes on offer is exceptional. There is an air of 'bon ami' and you cannot help making friends with staff and neighbouring tables. A refreshing and delightful alternative to corporate coffee chains.

Aptly named because half of the shop is given over to recycled and upcycled furniture and space for workshops. There is even a piano that customers can play, if they are so inclined. Community and sustainability are at the centre of this enterprise.
