After owing thousands of pounds in rent to my very patient dad who gave him multiple chances, the owner of Riverside Cafe Ilminster, Ethan Parker was rightly asked to leave the premises. This is how he left the building, still owing thousands. He’s moving his “business” to Axminster very soon under a new name. If you happen to be a landlord in that area then do be aware. Do not trust this extremely immature boy.

Luscious lunch! I had the bacon brie & cranberry melt. Bread was fresh, tasty and of the doorstep variety! Filling was well matched and delicious. My partner had the Chicken Burrito which was stacked and had every ingredient you would want for an awesome cheesy burrito. The chips were perfectly cooked too. As for the drinks, my mocha was sublime. The coffee was not too bitter and the chocolate was just the right hint, not too overpowering or watery either. Pretty perfect! Would recommend here for lunch if you want good quality and excellent tasty food.

Cheerful service, large portions. Unconventional ingredients for Caesar salad, with bacon & tomato but no anchovy. Chicken was a red/brown colour that looked like the chicken tikka on partner's naan. It was a pity that the previous day had been busy so that most specials were sold out

Been to this tucked away cafe a few times now but I have been put off by the last visit not because of the food but because of the smell of cooking oil and came out smelling like I had been dunked in it. The food is really good and have never had a bad meal but can be a little hit and miss if certain chefs don't turn up for work. I would recommend this cafe but just be prepared to come out smelling like cooking oil and the only reason I have given 4 stars not 5.

Nice local pub, with a friendly atmosphere. Pub very clean and easily accessible. Jodie/Tracey hit the spot with a lovely Sunday Lunch presented beautifully……great hospitality. Enjoyed chilling over a pint of Guinness and a few baby Guinness chasers.

Can I just say my experience at the bull is always pleasant unless the owner Lucy is there she is rude. & shouldn't be running a pub. Me and my family were at a table having a laugh and a drunk she come over and told us to shutup we were being to loud the juke box was louder than us we could hardly hear our conversations. I mentioned it to someone who was working behind the bar & a few of them said she's always rude to people and to them.. Not the sort of person to run a pub if you ask me sorry!

After such a lovely Christmas meal here in 2023 we decided to return again for 2024. We pre ordered our food using the Christmas menu from their website advertised at £28 for 2 courses. I ordered the fish crumble which was absolutely awful and inedible! It was basically a dish full of bread crumbs, I left very disappointed, if the meal wasn't bad enough we were told when paying that the cost of the meal had gone up to £32 for 2 courses! Despite mentioning that a) my fish crumble was inedible and b) the price they were charging was different than advertised - no offer of a discount was given. Usually we leave this pub very happy with full bellies but it wasn't to be on this occasion. My advice is - don't order the fish crumble from thr Christmas menu !
