We called in Bayard's Cove Inn for coffee in the morning and were greeted by lovely friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. The inn was in a historic part of Dartmouth and had a very interesting history. We decided to eat here in the evening after looking at the menu. The restaurant was very busy but nothing was too much trouble for the staff. My husband had the homemade burger with all the trimmings and thoroughly enjoyed it, I had vegetable lasagne with garlic bread and a side salad. The mix of vegetables was very good and all looked as if they were fresh unlike some places where they have clearly been frozen. The portions were very generous and reasonably priced. They also had an extensive wine and cocktail list. Well worth a visit !!!

I had the best pain au chocolat from this bakery yesterday. There was the right amount of chocolate and the pastry was oh so flaky. It was delicious and by far the best I’ve had for ages. Coupled with great, friendly service and decent coffee, this is a place I’ll be re-visiting very soon.

It is hard to find something in Dartmouth if you are vegan so didn't fancy our chances in the Market Square but running out of choices. A quick browse of the menu and I noticed they have a really inclusive menu with GF and VG choices. We had the home made soup and the Tofu baguette which were both exceptional with perfectly crisp but soft tofu and pea houmous. It sounds very worthy but was absolutely delicious and a proper light lunch. It has made the prospect of a trip to Dartmouth even more worthwhile.

We were pleased to see The Good Intent open even though we visited on a cold day in November. The ice cream we had was delicious - it was light and fluffy and very flavoursome - also a nice price. We were served with a smile.

And another great lunch st Jenny Koos! We love the daily specials and the pork belly on rice was wonderful! She really knows how to bring out the flavours in everything she cooks! Thanks again Jenny!

Great place for al fresco eats and drinks outside the main hotel - sitting on lawn watching river traffic. Great crab sandwiches!!!

The coffee is great and the best prices around for the quality and size. The light bites were delicious, again very well priced for what you get. Would definitely recommend if you aren’t too fussed about coffee with a view or environment or brand name.

What a gem of a restaurant! We decided to do date night at The Seahorse to try something a little different. We aren't overly familiar with the fish world, but we were so happy we gave this place a try! The staff were amazing, very attentive and friendly. Their knowledge of the menu really helped us choose what to have and they knew it inside out. The restaurant is entered via Joe's bar, which is a side entrance. You are greeted and led behind the bar to the restaurant. Upon arrival there is complimentary focaccia bread with anchoide, and seppia fritti. We ordered the house rosé and Fines de Claire Oysters to start. Monkfish grilled over the fire with Camone tomatoes & mojo verde; Cod loin cooked ‘al forno’ with local shellfish & fregola with a side of Marinated Camone tomatoes with shallots & oregano for mains. Poached rhubarb Eton mess and Sgroppino with a twist (sambuca) - so good! - for desert. We couldn't fault anything. Even the other diners were friendly, which added to the experience. A great meal, company and date night. I would recommend it for any special occasion!
