We were a large group dining here to celebrate two of our friend’s birthdays, and it’s safe to say we’ll be coming back to celebrate every occasion and more! The restaurant and outside spaces are beautiful, the staff were fantastic and really looked after us, and the food was exceptional!!

Had a fantastic meal in the recently refurbished restaurant. Food was superb, service excellent and the restaurant is a classy addition to the traditional pub. Decent value as well considering the quality of the experience.

At Last, after 58 years on this planet I have just given my first 10/10 for a pizza! I know shock. Ok it’s a wet Tuesday in October, it’s our 31st wedding Anniversary and I see this pizza place in the corner of my eye as we drive through braunton on our way to our holiday cottage in croyde. Give it a go I thought. Arrived at 5 when they opened. We were the only ones in..hmmmm I thought, but a fabulous welcome from a very lovely guy who makes us feel very welcome. Buys us an Anniversary drink (nice touch and thank you) I couldn’t decide what to go for. So I made up my own pizza. One half pesto based with fresh basil and the other half traditional margherita with mushrooms and olives. My hubby went for margherita with olives. Both asked for it to be well done as we like a crispy base. It arrived and the first mouthful was heaven. Cooked to perfection. Bit of crunch, bit fluffed up edges, so a little extra crunch there. Fresh as fresh and gorgeous ton]nato sauce with a gooey right amount of cheese. Topped with fresh basil. I thought the two halves would ‘bleed’ into each other, but hats off to the chef, he pulled it off. Then the pesto was fresh and zingy and I couldn’t work out which half I preferred. Both equally delicious. So a 10 out of 10 was given to the amazing chef who produced this miraculous pizza. This is just a pizza I hear you cry….NO, this was the food of gods! Simple food, cooked to perfection. Go there. EAT. Die happy! At last a proper pizza to write about. Great guys and a joyful atmosphere, more people rocked up as we dined. Asked about opening as it starts at 5pm, but looks like will change later in the year. So take the kids after school. Great alcohol free beer and coke. With the free anniversary drink and tip it came to £30. Best £30 I’ve ever spent in a restaurant. Thank you for making our Anniversry one to remember! 😄

Excellent Sunday lunch. An elevated version of a roast. Not too fussy but very very tasty. Superb value for money. Service excellent as ever and the venue is very comfortable it makes for a lovely meal out.

Been a number of times as we normally have breakfast or lunch before leaving for home. Today very disappointed. We were the only customers at 10 30, didn't have to wait long but didn't appear fresh. Smashed avocado was clearly brought in and very cold, tomato salsa just chopped up tomato's and toast cold and soggy. Did ask for extra egg which was ok. Husband's sausage bap came already buttered which he didn't want or asked beforehand. Coffe not the normal tasty quality. Unsure if this is why it's not busy or just trying to cut corners , as years gone by have been much better.

Wide variety of ice cream to take away. Also extensive range of sweets. Located on a main streen in the town.

Just finished my last ever takeaway from the Hong Kong Chef as its Sam and Pauline's last day today after serving great Chinese fare for the last 41 years in Braunton. Wishing you both all the very best for a long and happy retirement and safe travels wherever you go. Best Yeung Chow fried rice since Singapore! Take care, we'll miss you!

We stayed in Braunton on Thursday night before a week’s stay booked in Croyde from Good Friday to avoid the bank holiday traffic , we had to check out at 10 & couldn’t access our new accommodation till 4 . Weather wasn’t great and we were wandering aimlessly around Braunton when we had the good fortune to see this pub was open . Had a really lovely breakfast, my partner had full English & I had poached eggs on toast which were cooked beautifully. The owner was a charming friendly man & we spent a few hours happily in the pub and would definitely consider staying here if we needed a stop over on our next visit to Croyde
