With a need for a gluten free dish, the waitress was very helpful and knowledgable about the menu including cross contamination, even double checking ingredients with the chef. I decided to have the gammon and swapped the chips for new potatoes due to possible cross contamination. The new potatoes were well cooked and gammon was amazing quality and delicious, definitely the best I’ve had by far! The gluten free brownie was also lovely with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Service was quick.

Frome is quaint. It's not that big. Is quite hilly from the town. We stayed in the Corner House which was great. Again on a hill. It has lots of things around the town if you like walking....lovely cobbled hills. Poldark filmed on Gentle Street. We ate out 3 nights. It's not cheap but we had 3 brilliant meals. The George, an Indian, The Bath Arms. Great bus service to Warminster and Bath...£4 return. So Frome is a gentler break with some great places to go off to...so use it as a base

I called here for lunch whilst working in the area, my three visits to clients today had all over-run. With a return-trip needed later in the day I decided to stay in the area, rather than return home for lunch; only to drive back here again 45 minutes later. With my Partner away visiting family, I also decided to have my main meal of the day whilst out; rather than cooking for myself in the evening at home. This is a pub that I have passed many times on my way to work-calls, but it wasn’t until recently that I have needed to make work-related visits to Beckington itself. So, it was time to acquaint myself with this attractive village-centre hostelry. The pub sits right on the junction of the Bath Road and the Warminster Road. I correctly assumed this was a very busy junction before the Beckington by-pass (A36) was built in 1989. Apparently for years, the T-junction in the centre of the village was grid-locked during busy commuter times, and especially-so in the holiday season. This attractive village is now very quiet, mostly with local traffic only. This is just as well, as there appears to be no private carpark for this pub. I parked-up in the residential area on the Warminster Road; there were plenty of spaces, but I guess that evening and weekend parking may be more of a challenge? So, to lunch. It was a few minutes before 14:00, and knowing nothing about the Woolpack, I popped into the bar and asked if lunch was still being served. It was, and I was invited to choose a table, which I did; selecting one with a street-view. The menus were on the table, and there was an attractive ‘special’ of a burger and a drink for £12.00. I had however enjoyed a Wagyu burger at home on the previous evening, so I chose Hunter’s Chicken and a bottle of ginger beer (my favourite ‘Fentimans’ brand). Service was very good; in that it took about 15 minutes for my meal to arrive (by which time I had almost finished my drink). I am actually encouraged by a modest delay in a quiet pub, because it indicates that meals have been properly oven-cooked rather than slopped into a tub and ‘nuked’. My meal looked great, the oven-dish containing the chicken really looked attractive and as though it had been conventionally oven-cooked. The Hunter’s BBQ sauce was very dark (almost black) and very sticky: being very good indeed. The chicken breast was well-trimmed and beautifully cooked. The main plat with fries and onion rings were crisp and oil-free, and the small side-salad was a ‘small side-salad’. Job done, meal all eaten, but a second Fentiman’s ginger beer was knocked-back before I left my table. I still had some time to spare, so I went for about an hour’s stroll around the area, seeing some lovey views in the late autumn sunshine. Beckington is certainly set in some lovely countryside.

We were staying at the attached premier inn at Frome and were able to book a table easily on the day, and the staff managed to squeeze us in a bit earlier than booking online. Great food, fillet steak & chicken & rib combo. Lovely staff, and many thanks to our server Abi-Ma, got us everything we wanted.

I have visited this Starbucks 3 times now. Every time the toilets were a disgrace. No toilet roll water on floor (I hope it was water!) Today the cafe area was so humid and smelly I left and bought some very nice food and drink from the M and S shop on site. Avoid at all costs

If they sorted out the issue with the McDonald's app I wouldn't have any issues visiting here!!!!!! It doesn't like to recognise that you have arrived when you order via the app, so you loose out on your free coffees as it's all done via the app now. Sort out the problem...................please

A location that never fails to disappoint. Slow service, cold food, missing items and staff who are clearly lost. This evening, we watched our food waiting to be bagged for 10 minutes whilst a collection of 'crew members' stood looking at it as if they had never completed an order before. Imagine our delight when we arrived home 3 minutes later to find stone cold fries and burgers that looked and tasted as if they had been boiled hours before, left to cool waiting for an unsuspecting customer, or should I say 'Guest' to have the misfortune of ordering. So that this isn't a totally negative review, I should say that all items ordered were in the bag, however it would have been better if every item ordered had been left out of the bag!!!
