White Row Cafe in Mendip

Here for lunch Usually have fish & chips but decided to have the Fish Special Mongers *mongers mixed grill-salmon, gurnard, cod, lemon sole, prawn Served with chips, aioli dcrais bisque It was superb ! Certainly have this dish again

Lovely location. Children played in their playground then we went for lunch. Two chickens fish and chips. One ham eggs and chips. Service was good. Portion size was huge. More than happy to return and also recommend. Meals were delicious.

We haven’t had fish and chips from here for many months but feel that the quality has dropped significantly. The fish was good but the majority of chips were either totally black or had black bits in them. The potatoes they are using are obviously very old and not pleasant to eat. Such a shame.

Have eaten here many times for years and have always been really happy with the food and the service, however today my wife was served with a baguette that was obviously not fresh and she had to leave most of it, we queried whether we were expected to pay but were made to feel awkward as if we were not able to tell when bread is stale, a little disappointing after all these years.

I have been here a few times before but the cafe has been extended since my last visit (into the fish and chip shop which used to be at the end of the building) and is now huge. I ordered a cheese and tomato omelette from the extensive menu and a Becks lager and both were served quickly and were delicious - the cost was £15. This place does get popular so you may end up parking on the road rather than the car park - the former route of the A36. And there is a smell of the pigs outside - if you are a 'city type' you might find that offensive!

Takeaway fish and chips. Whole experience ruined by awful surly teenagers who were left running the show on a Saturday night. Never have I ever been treated so rudely or with such disrespect. Eye rolling and tutting from surly rude teenage girls who spoke down to me when I had to return to ask for salt and vinegar and argued that I would’ve been offered it already, which I wasn’t. Zero manners and zero respect for customers. Sat on counters eating by the till and gossiping amongst themselves whilst customers looked on. If this were my business I’d be beyond disappointed and embra By the staff. The food was good, such a shame, as I will never give them my time or money again.

Lovely birthday breakfast for my daughter. Only slight letdown was the sausages were a bit over cooked. Admittedly we were in right at the end of breakfast service. Everything else was great

At a busy time we were advised of a fifteen minute wait for lunch, it was well worth waiting. Service was efficient and very courteous, our food arrived without delay. My seafood mixed grill was exceptional, served with samphire and capers.
