Lovely cream tea, good price and great service. Went there with our 2 boys who were happy to play hoops while talking to Reg the cat

If you're cruising down the main road and craving a quick bite, this fast food shack is definitely worth stopping at. The bacon baps are next-level—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly stacked. Paired with a freshly brewed coffee, it's the kind of breakfast that makes your day. The vibe is casual and friendly, with fast service that’s perfect for a pit stop. A solid spot for a delicious and satisfying meal when you’re on the go!

Exceptional Sunday roast, thank you. We were made very welcome by the friendly staff who accommodated us and our dog despite having not booked and during peak service. The house wine was excellent and the local real ale perfect. Thanks again, highly recommended

Not being recognised as residents when you come down to a dark gloomy bar, then getting an excuse for a breakfast an hour later, doesn’t in my mind constitute a great start to the day. We did email the pub to share our grievances, but no reply….so these days it doesn’t matter if you had a good or bad experience!! They’re really not interested!

We've been before and we'll go again. The staff and service are brilliant and the food is the main reason we go. We have to stay for at least 3 nights to allow us to work through the menu. Locally sourced ingredients, good portion sizes, well cooked and accompanied by decent wines. Local beers are always a plus wherever I go. The hotel is in an old building and I wouldn't expect to find chain hotel uniformity. The beds are comfortable and the room warm in winter. I can be picky anywhere I go, believe me, but I can overlook imperfections if the overall experience is great, and this was great again.

I visited Trelawny Garden Centre with my parents for a little Christmas shopping after lunch in Carriages restaurant. I appreciate we didn't arrive until 2pm but was surprised to find out that the only hot food available from the menu was a very unappealing looking & sparse carvery or sausage & mash! When I asked if it would be possible to have some vegetables with our sausage & mash meal I was informed that that would cost an extra £4 per person! The meal itself was overpriced for what it was without having to pay that too so we opted to just have the sausages & mash. The mash was very tasty thankfully but a few carrots or peas included in the price would have been good. I remember many times when their carvery & other options were excellent but it seems those days are long gone. Maybe coffee & cake would be the better choice if we ever chose to eat there again.

We have been coming here for several years and always enjoy the food. All you can eat on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, we visited on Friday this time and paid £26.99 each, plus a decent bottle of wine for £20. AYCE is from their main menu with a large selection for each course. Our starters included chicken satay, ribs and salt and chilli squid and prawns. You can order more starters and only stipulation is that once you order mains you can’t go back to starters. Intermediate course of quarter duck and pancakes was a good size portion with plenty of accompaniments. Mains we chose sizzling beef, Malay chicken, garlic prawns and coconut prawns (we both love prawns), with rice and noodles. Everything arrived hot and portion size is perfect to enable you to sample a wider selection of dishes As always we really enjoyed our visit
