Beautiful handy spot. We've been twice, once just for tea and once for lunch. Just off the coast path walk it's like the oasis in the desert when you've been out walking. The quiche with salad was lovely as was the savoury afternoon tea with cheese scone. My husband has the traditional cream tea which was apparently excellent. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly

We visit Penstowe fairly regularly, since King Arthur’s has started serving food we always make sure we eat here. Great food at a great price for all the family - great menu so always something different to choose. Most of all our 5 year old son loves the place, arcades, entertainment and all the staff are so fun and kind. Really gives him some independence in a fun and safe environment. Highlight of visiting Cornwall and Penstowe. Nicely decorated and clean.

The Fryers Tearooms Kilkhampton Cornwall have extensive gluten free options, inspired by their personal experience of supporting a coeliac. Full 4* review at coeliacwellnes.com. They have freshly made cake, breakfast and lunch options. Its close to Tamar Lakes with lots of free nearby parking and uses locally sourced ingredients. This is home cooked Cornish food at it’s best.

We went for Sunday lunch. The menu was very straightforward with either roast pork or roast beef or roast pork and beef.! I like a nice draft and I was spoilt forchoice.. Even better, you can order 3 different 3rds of a pint to try the various lagers ales and cider. To our delight, the roast came with a generous portion of seven types of vegetables.

Popped in by chance as passing. Really busy in a remote be it stunning setting. Cake & tea were of the highest quality, the only downside being the portion of cake was tiny. Expected a bit more for a fiver. Probably less than half of what I'm used to at Fremmy Quay.

Great cafe. Had lovely breakfast and cappuccino after walk round lake. All really good especially the bacon. Will definitely be returning 🙂

There's no justification at all for charging nearly £5 for a cereal bowl of tasteless cash n carry oven chips, see pic, or £7+ with cheese etc. I will never use your cafe again, or recommend it to my visitors. Just because you have the monopoly at Widemouth Bay, it doesn't give you carte blanche to overcharge your customers.

Maybe we turned up at the wrong time on a bad day but…. Friendly and good service and a pint of Tribute is a pint of Tribute.. Very disappointed with the carvery on offer, can only suggest having a look at the counter and if you are happy, then purchase a ticket.

What a shame. Lovely pub beautiful building really well decorated inside and out lovely wood burner has all the potential of being the heart of the village… my goodness what a massive disappointment we have never been into such an unwelcoming atmosphere ever something very odd was going on why on earth is this pub open at all.very limited opening times no menu at all. The staff did not want to serve us particularly very unfriendly. There were about 4 locals which seemed close friends with the owner and any new customers were almost intruders. We witnessed a large group of American tourists who also felt the same way and left after 10 minutes!

Absolutely loved it here, it’s our second visit and the girls working here Sue, Roxy and Nicole are so lovely and friendly. Food is great and a reasonable price. We will make this our regular lunch stop. Thank you girls for your lovely smiles and very professional service
