The Fryers Tearooms Kilkhampton Cornwall have extensive gluten free options, inspired by their personal experience of supporting a coeliac.  Full 4* review at coeliacwellnes.com.  They have freshly made cake, breakfast and lunch options.  Its close to Tamar Lakes with lots of free nearby parking and uses locally sourced ingredients. This is home cooked Cornish food at it’s best.

We visited Fryers Tea Room on a gorgeous sunny day and were immediately impressed by the beautiful gardens at the back where we sat with our dog. The cream teas consisted of two delicious scones each, along with a large dish of strawberry jam and one of clotted cream. These were accompanied by a ample sized pot of tea. The owner of the tea room was very friendly and the service we received was second to none. Excellent value for money and definitely worth a visit.

Stopped here whilst passing through on holiday. Whilst the decor is basic the food was great, both in taste and presentation. We had cherry and almond scones with cherry jam and lemon and ginger scones with lemon curd , both with clotted cream. They were delicious and a generous size. Staff were friendly and attentive so couldn't have asked for better.

Tasty food, with lots of options available for people who are gluten free. Visited just after lockdown was lifted so seating was in small individual hits which did look nice but are quite small however there was six of us which is the maximum capacity for one of the huts. Waitress was friendly and took orders very quickly and food was also quick to come out seeing as it looked quite busy. Lunch portions were a reasonable size however the desserts were huge! Average prices for the area. Overall it is a nice little place with good food and service, wouldn't hesitate to come again.

Lovely Tea room for breakfast, lunches or Cream Teas. It was very reasonably priced, generous portions and very attentive staff. We took our 2 year old and the waitress brought over a colouring book and pencils, as well as asking if he would prefer his beans next to or on top of toast. It sounds like a small thing but the little details make people feel comfortable and welcome. We really appreciated it.

The cream tea was amazing, we had the cherry and almond scones with lashings of cherry jam and clotted cream! I have eaten numerous cream teas over the years but can honestly say this was the best! The garden was so pretty and the waitress was so friendly and gave us extra jam and cream. Prices were very reasonable. If you are in the area I highly recommend a visit!

Brilliant gem of a place we are currently staying at nearby penstowe holiday park. Breakfast 2 for £10 forHubby and I was brilliant with a tea for me which I loved with a pot, strainer and tea leaves which my 7 year old had never seen before ! Catered well for our daughter picking items from main breakfast menu for kids breakfast. Lovely atmosphere with interesting things to look at and take in. Including crafts and the amazing cake display (gluten free also well catered for). We took a selection of scones take away for much later in the day including cheese, fruit and plain which were helpfully labelled up. Love this place, defiantly will visit again maybe for the cream tea or sandwich items next time. Hopefully next time will be sunny as there looks to be a beautiful garden out the back. The first place we came to was Kilkhampton... there we saw The Fryers Tearooms. Omgosh..... such a cute tea room, full of character. It was 4.10pm, they shut at 4.30pm, there were 6 of us.... the tearoom said "come in, we never rush anyone, come in". So pleased they did let us in. The cream tea was scrumptious... served with Cornish butter, cornish clotted cream and cornish jam. China cups and sauces .... a proper tearoom. They do other things also which also looked scrummy. We left st 5pm. Would definitely recommend .. even if just passing through ... you will be fed well xx

We would never have known, about this tearoom, if it was not for the TripAdvisor reviews. Despite being on the main road, through Kilkhampton, you would never really know it was there, as the signage is quite modest. Inside, the staff gave us a smiling welcome, and we opted for their cream tea. They warned that the scones were large, but we went for two each anyway! They advertise a wide selection of flavoured scones, and we chose the spiced, which came with honey, and the ginger (with lemon curd) options. Having been disappointed, at another venue, a couple of days before, the Fryers scones certainly restored our faith in a Cornish cream tea. The spices came through nicely in their spiced scones, and complemented the honey well. The ginger scones were full of gingery warmth and contained chunks of crystallised ginger, and the very nice lemon curd really worked well as an accompaniment. The honey, clotted cream and lemon curd portions were huge, and everything was teamed with a large pot of loose leaf tea (well judged in terms of strength, and a good quality mellow tea blend, too), served in a bright and cheery spotty teapot and cups. The surroundings are a little bit faded, but who cares when.the cream teas are so good, and so reasonably priced. Would heartily recommend this hidden gem, and the quality of the cream teas!

We were staying in Kilkhampton, near Bude, and visited this wonderful little tearoom after seeing the excellent reviews on TA. We were not disappointed and returned for a second visit a few days later as well. The girls working here were super friendly and welcoming and the lady who owns the business took time to chat and made us feel special. The food was out of this world. Easily the best cream tea we've had in the UK (and we've had a fair few). Massive portions, home made scones with loads of varieties, and importantly they don't scrimp on the jam and cream giving you more than enough. The chocolate cream tea with choc-chip scones, nutella and clotted cream was incredible with the clotted cream softening the sugar rush and delivering a really creamy delicious taste. The savoury cream tea was equally amazing. Kids meal of sausage and beans was a very good size and again the business makes excellent use of their sister-shop next door, Gillets Chip Shop and serves proper chip shop style chips which were lovely. Excellent service, wonderful staff and a delightful couple of rooms with lots of nice bits and bobs all over. Price wise it knocked everything out the park with these massive cream tea portions, flexibility to upgrade to coffee or hot chocolate for around £5 per head - just amazing. I said on the day that I'd go well out of my way to revisit this amazing cafe and I hope to be back very soon. Thank you and good luck.

Perhaps the finest fish and chips we have ever eaten. Washed down with endless cups of Cornish tea - yes Cornish tea grown locally and a beautiful blend it is to! Greeted by a lovely warm-hearted lady who made us feel immediately at home. The world should be beating a path to this door in the centre of Kilkhampton on the Cornish border with Devon. What a find!

Stopped here briefly on our way driving along the coastal road, it wasn't well signposted. Such a shame as many people might miss it! Good tea coffee and wicked brownies/ cakes. Friendly owner too.

This is a lovely family run little tearoom's with a fab garden for lovely days. I am Gluten free and didn't have to worry at all as everything on the board was GF so I didn't feel cheated with just a few choices like in most places. The staff are friendly and helpful and I am looking forward to future visits.

Whilst having a stroll around Mousehole we came upon the Orange Cafe Bar by chance with it being up a lane just away from the harbour. We did not immediately realise it was a vegan cafe but that was not an issue for us. The staff were warm and friendly, explaining the dishes so that we could make an informed choice. We went for the burger (patty) and cake, both of which were delicious. People often shy away from eating this type of food but on this showing they should give it a go, which saw two diners leave very happy.

I have been here four times now, its become a thing whenever we come to Newquay, tattoo before I go home. The staff are incredibly friendly and always chatting away when you're there. They make you feel like part of the family. It's clean, tidy, always smells so good woth the cakes and coffee, I always feel like I'm home when I go in.

Very good B&B in a very central location. But it is very expensive so 'value for money' comes into question. Very good cooked breakfast served in the mornings but for the money it should provide freshly squeezed orange juice.

We found our way to Freathy Farmhouse Cafe by following a sign from Whitsand Bay. What a lovely find! Very rustic and charming cafe. We sat outside in the sun and enjoyed very generous sandwiches served with delicious salad. Some of us even managed cake! We will definitely return although I understand it is best to check opening times. Ps Loved the decor in the loo!
