Booked in for the Sunday lunch food very nice. However dark dingy pub inside lots of flys very dimly lit. Outside seating area was full with locals enjoying the band so no seating available as we had a dog. Landlady quite rude as I chose not to give a tip when prompted when paying by card. Did not return found lots of nicer places to eat within Bude.

We visited this gem of a pub whilst on holiday recently. It was very friendly and great service and the food was very good. Also very dog friendly. After visiting on arrival for our holiday we had fish, chips and peas, also a small burger both were very nice and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We then booked for Sunday lunch, which you need to do as it gets very busy. Again we weren't disappointed. The food and service was excellent. We returned again for the steak night on the Tuesday, another superb visit for food and service, even though it was very busy. We can't recommend this place enough. A perfect place to go for a meal or just a drink. There is entertainment on a regular basis as well in the evenings. Laraine and Roger.

We were booked in here on one night during our holiday at nearby Wooda Farm. We actually ended up eating here 3 times, because the food and service was so good. The staff were great, and incredibly welcoming. Food was amazing quality, and we didn’t wait very long either. The puddings are very generous portions! This is a great pub, and when we visit Wooda Farm again we will definitely be booking in here. Thank you for some fantastic meals.

We called in for Sunday dinner, and this is without doubt the best Sunday pub dinner we have had . Food was absolutely unbelievable, well done to the chefs , the service from the girls was fast and polite, Dessert was fabulous ( white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake) , and a great selection of beers and ciders , we booked in advance and were glad we did as it soon seemed to fill up , so obviously very popular. Beautiful. Food , fabulous pub , friendly helpful staff, thank you .

Lovely pub, warm and welcoming. (Parking available) Staff very friendly and helpful. I have a serious food allergy and they were very careful with my food order. I had the chicken pea curry (tbf I was expecting it to be a typical pub curry runny and uninspiring gloop) BUT it was really flavoursome and beautifully presented with a proper poppadoms and chutney. You can have it as a vegetarian option or add chicken or prawns if you want. Didn't manage to finish it all as there was plenty of it. Other pubgoers asked me what I was having as they commented how good it smelt. I believe they do a curry night and if this is anything to go by well worth a visit

Lovely pub 10 mins from accommodation. Staff welcoming and friendly, Dog friendly. Beef burger was awesome - though a little over done on garlic somehow, maybe on the bread? Well presented, staff checking to see all ok. Pleasant visit. Would go again. Menu limited but typical good pub grub.

Sunday Roast - Delicious and we have been there over 8 times. You NEED TO BOOK ahead. So worth it though. Great staff and great choice of drinks. Dog friendly, Just be careful as the poor animals are laying all around the Bar area.

The food was so yummy My daughter is ten and she had the mozzarella ciabatta and it was gigantic! My husband had the beef burger which he polished off. My halloumi and mushroom burger was lovely and fresh. The chips were all big and fluffy inside. Really friendly service in a busy pub

We come to the Preston Gate Inn every time we visit the area. In fact, we usually book it the same day as our trip and we have never been disappointed with any meal. It caters very well for me (vegetarian with a wheat intolerance) a very fussy teen, and everyone else too. Superb food, with friendly service. Be sure to book if you want an indoor table. In fine weather there is more space outside than in, but be aware that parking is an issue. There are only a few spaces on site, but there’s a church carpark - which you can use - only a few minutes walk away. Well worth the short walk.

Excellent find staff really friendly, service great and the food was amazing! We had chicken wings and halloumi fries for starters then steak and burger with all the trimmings! It was huge, tasty and hot. Would highly recommend.

Lunch with friends yesterday, and reliable as always. Just a really good traditional pub with good beer and food. It was especially nice that they'd lit the fire. That's a business decision as logs cost money and many wouldn't have bothered on a quiet, out of season mid-week lunchtime. Good decision! We also love that they get their bread from the sensational Electric Bakery in Bude (not cheap but really good). Another good decision! See you soon.

I have eaten here many times and all I can say is that I have always enjoyed my food. Delicious, fresh and great staff in a relaxed setting.

Went for a Carvery with those Wintery days upon us. Swimming in salty gravy (this has been on a previous review) Veg could have been better smaller crisper Yorkshire Puddings. Ice Cream served in a tea cup/saucer?? Have been a few times before and enjoyed-today maybe an off day.

Chanced upon Steak Night at the Preston Gate & made a booking for 3 at 8.30 (there are 2 hour allocated slots). Expectations weren’t high but the steak & fish & chips were delicious & the live music was an added bonus. A limited menu, must book, but well worth the visit & would definitely come again, highly recommended. Very friendly & attentive service.

Wow,after reading reviews on Tripadvisor I decided to book a table for a special occasion it was a Tuesday night and steak night.A smallish pub with lots of atmosphere as was very busy and now I know why!The service was very attentive and the food was AMAZING,I had the 10oz Ribeye steak,it was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth,portions were big!A credit to the chefs!Thank you so much for your hospitality.

A lovely friendly welcoming pub with superbly cooked and well presented food. We chose the seared Chicken breast with a parmesan crust and Halloumi burger with chips. Both were delicious. Lovely atmosphere with efficient and attentive staff.

Had too book ..obviously very popular.. stopping in bude from Newcastle.. both had the sirloin steak I’ve been to a lot of steak houses and I can honestly say the steak was melt in your mouth and the best sirloin I’ve had would highly recommended lovely atmosphere and girls behind the bar were attentive and helpful

We visited on 18th of September for lunch. It’s a long time since I have had such an amazing meal, I had the special and my husband had a burger. So freshly cooked and absolutely mouthwatering, and presentation brilliant. Only disappointment was that unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short, so didn’t have the opportunity to return. Cannot recommend highly enough!
