Another lovely morning visit , with grandchildren. Such a welcome and the cakes and pastries are to die for, not literally die for! You are made to feel welcome as soon as you enter , I can highly recommend the bagels and carrot cake.

My first time at CJ's. Great roast dinner (veggie option for me). Very very generous portions. Attentive friendly staff. Great atmosphere and surroundings. Would definitely recommend. The only issue is accessibility as the toilets are upstairs. The layout of the building also means there are lots of steps and different levels. The entrance is also to the side of the building so there is a slope you need to be able to walk up.

We stayed for one night meeting friends on the day we arrived. We have stayed before and the food didn't disappoint and the bar was, as usual, friendly and warm.. The owners Lisa and Will and the staff are all so happy and helpful. We went to our room after lunch and it was immaculate and large with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast the next morning was stupendous I couldn't eat it all! As we had had lunch we didn't want a big dinner but our hosts provided us with a gorgeous cheeseboard to take to our room- perfect! Trengilly Wartha is a hidden gem

I have been here several times as the place is beautiful and the food used to very tasty but today the staff were apathetic at best and the service was very slow. We waited over 30 minutes for a cold plate of mezze which consisted of little more than salad leaves and entire spring onions which couldnāt be cut with the knife provided, brown lentils straight out of the tin (no dressing, no taste) some watery dips that were inedible (especially the yoghurt with garlic) and 3 small slices of white bread. At Ā£15 per plate it was an insult to say the least. Will not be going back.

From the minute we walked in on the Thursday afternoon as visitors to the area, we were warmly greeted by Melissa. She made us very welcome and so much so that we went back on the Friday and the Saturday. As she said our attendance was excellent! This place is fantastic, we had dinner on the Saturday night, all we can say is wow! The food and service was outstanding. Again a special mention to Melissa, friendly, warm and unflappable and also to Maddie, a lovely young lady with a fantastic attitude. We didnāt meet the chefs but these people know their stuff, if youāre ever in the area definitely go, you wonāt be disappointed, thank you as well for my birthday pudding, so kind. A birthday and evening to remember. We are already planning our next visit to this beautiful part of Cornwall just for the Yacht Club.

Lovely coffee and female staff. However, we felt that food available was restrictive. Not everyone wants a piece of cake or a bagel/bread for lunch. So many people not eating loads of carbs that I think Awna should consider alternative offerings with the coffee, eg local cheeses with a salad - simple and easy to serve. If you do, we will return.

Disappointed/underwhelmed I used to look forwards to a lunch time stop at the beautifully located meudon hotel after a walk around the local coast .Today was the first time we had visited since a change in ownership and Iām sadly disappointed. Had to hunt for service twice ( and yes I do understand that businesses have problems with staffing levels ) the bar area was like the Marie Celeste . The food is my main issue . The hummus and salad sandwich was fresh but it was made using the cheapest , thinnest sliced brown bread that Iāve seen in many a year.Iām really not fussy but if this is whatās served then Iām not impressed. Iām a local customer and Iām now not confident that I would risk bringing my family here for a full meal . Come on , donāt let yourselves down by cutting such noticeable corners.
