Another lovely morning visit , with grandchildren. Such a welcome and the cakes and pastries are to die for, not literally die for! You are made to feel welcome as soon as you enter , I can highly recommend the bagels and carrot cake.

Just had the best roast beef with all the trimmings, was absolutely delicious and portions were huge! Followed by the biggest and best cheeseboard I have ever had. We sadly don’t live locally but it’s our second visit here in three months, we thoroughly recommend, all the staff are friendly and efficient too. We will book again when we come back in June. Thank you, was perfection 😍

Really enjoyed the lunch. The spicy parsnip and cauliflower soup was excellent. Unfortunately the kitchen did not do the Debara bread justice because it was very dry and definitely needed dunking in the soup, even with butter on it. My sons chicken and Brie toasted sandwich was good, but would have been better if the brie had not been substituted with cheddar, which did agree to. No choice really, other than to not have it. The menu and the food here is really good with lots of choice for all diets. A few more high chairs would be helpful. Overall Well done.

We had a great Sunday roast here and I’d thoroughly recommend it. Book if you can because they are, understandably, busy. The rare roast beef was stunning, the Yorkshire pudding was delicious and the roast potatoes (which restaurants sometimes struggle to get right) were spot on. The side vegetable dishes were gorgeous too so this is also great food for vegetarians. The trifle pudding was sumptuous, as were the chocolate fondant and the white chocolate fudge, which I definitely didn’t need but ordered anyway. Our waitress was charming and attentive and the atmosphere was one of happiness and joy, made even better given the tranquil backdrop of the beautiful Helston river. It made us really happy going here. Go, I’m sure it will make you happy too.

Lovely coffee and female staff. However, we felt that food available was restrictive. Not everyone wants a piece of cake or a bagel/bread for lunch. So many people not eating loads of carbs that I think Awna should consider alternative offerings with the coffee, eg local cheeses with a salad - simple and easy to serve. If you do, we will return.

I had the tastiest meal I've had anywhere in a long time. I just wanted to savour every mouthful of my easter sunday lunch. The flavours were amazing... Who would have thought that a salmon, rhubarb and celeriac espuma would work, but it was a revelation. It felt like I was eating in a Michelin starred restaurant but the prices were way more affordable. I'll be back for another meal before my holiday ends, and I'd definitely recommend this restaurant, even if you need to travel a bit to get to it. Amazing food, beautiful views and friendly welcoming service

An ok dinner experience was brought down by the general manager being a little too sharp with ‘jokes’, complaining about hours worked and lack of staff and being too busy, felt like we were a burden and not paying guests. Food was good, nothing out of this world. Restaurant felt a bit like a function room. View was amazing but you cant see if from the restaurant except for a few tables on one side.

We spent the afternoon at Budock Vean celebrating Mother’s Day with our families, including both Mum and Mother-in-law, and had a truly wonderful experience. The team were absolutely fantastic from start to finish, and we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea – everything was delicious and beautifully presented. A special shout out goes to Wendy, who was fabulous and really made our afternoon feel extra special. Nothing was too much trouble, and her relaxed, friendly approach made us all feel so welcome – we honestly felt like she could’ve joined us at the table, she was that much fun! We’re already planning our next visit, especially to try out the pool and jacuzzi. Thank you to everyone at Budock Vean for such a lovely day – we’ll be back very soon! 🧁🍰🫖☕️
