I have been here several times as the place is beautiful and the food used to very tasty but today the staff were apathetic at best and the service was very slow. We waited over 30 minutes for a cold plate of mezze which consisted of little more than salad leaves and entire spring onions which couldn’t be cut with the knife provided, brown lentils straight out of the tin (no dressing, no taste) some watery dips that were inedible (especially the yoghurt with garlic) and 3 small slices of white bread. At £15 per plate it was an insult to say the least. Will not be going back.

Had a post wedding lunch. Feel that there could have been more effort and imagination given to the food that was served. Starter was tasty nettle balls and alioi but “soup” was watery and disappointing, pot luck if there was a vegetable in it Main course was lentils with roasted cauliflower but not enough florets for 1 per guest, salads leaves, hummus and bread. Some potatoes and roasted veg would have brought it all together and added some substance and texture

We were recommended to come here and we weren’t disappointed. We came first for coffee and cake then the next day came back for lunch, make sure you book. The food was absolutely delicious, we both had lentil curries sitting in a beautiful conservatory. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to seat us when we hadn’t booked on the first day. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area, a very special place.

We were told of this garden by the author of Secret Cornish Gardens. It will be published in October 2023. It is on the outskirts of Falmouth. What beautiful gardens. Perfect in every way. We ate a delicious tasting meze lunch in a huge greenhouse. Our friends loved their lunches, too. Super young staff. The chef is inspirational! We will return again but this garden will not be a secret for long.. Once the book is on shelves!

We came for brunch today as we thought it would be a lovely way to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Despite booking, the only table for two was by a drafty exit overlooking the toilets😳. Not an auspicious start My husband had the mezze. The beetroot was nice but everything else under seasoned and the cauliflower positively dry. I had the mixed leaves, asparagus, peas and a really nice whipped yogurt. However, the leaves were covered in chilli bits (not my favourite but I am sure my mouth will stop stinging eventually). All in all hope the day gets better as this was very disappointing (currently raining so not holding my breath😂)

Its fair to say Potager is slightly off the beaten path, a few twisty miles outside Falmouth. It has long had a loyal following and when you get there you can understand why. The setting is rustic and many of the ingredients found on your plate have come from its own garden. You can sit in the main cafe, out of doors or in the great glasshouse where this time of year you are welcomed by a sea of blue echiums. The food is rustic too with quite a Mediterranean influence full of texture, color and flavor. I can highly recommend the Mezze and coffee cake. Thank you to Flo, Erin and the most charming team at Potager for a lovely visit.

I’ve been to the Pottager probably 10 or so times and every single time EVERYTHING is a solid 10 out of 10. The staff are really kind and friendly, the cakes and coffee are spot on and the setting is so cool and unique. Earlier this month, 12 (including 4 young children) of us booked for a birthday lunch which is always a good test for any cafe/restaurant. Not to mention there were quite a few dietary requirements thrown in the mix, just to make it a little more difficult for them! Everyone’s food and drinks came out really promptly and everything was delicious as always. I’m always really impressed whenever there is an interesting dish on the menu (I had Nasi Lemak) and they knock it out of the park! The little chilli pickles and sambol that came with it were clearly homemade with love and full of flavour. I can’t recommend this place enough, deserves a 6th star. I’m always thinking of an excuse to go for lunch at the Pottager.

The garden setting does not disappoint. The food however ..... First off, the menu is tiny. Maybe 4 mains. So if you have an allergy like me, you could find yourself extremely limited. My first choice was out of stock (with a substantial portion of the lunch period still remaining). So I was forced to choose an alternative which didn’t appeal. Then came the very long wait. This place obviously lacks the staff, kitchen space or know how to cope with summer crowds. 45 minutes into our waiting time, I was told the bread which accompanied my meal was out of stock, but the chef would make my meal “amazing”. In actuality, what arrived after a further wait was a decidedly average (and small) plate of salad - 50% of which was raw tomatoes and some sort of legume beans, both of which I dislike. So I was left with a small side salad and was starving afterwards. I decided to have a piece of cake. Very small for the price but did taste good. To be fair, my Husband enjoyed his meal - but didn’t like the coffee. Upon leaving, no discount was offered. I went home disappointed and hungry and devoured a roll. I certainly wouldn’t want to visit again during the summer or any holidays.

We ate in the greenhouse at Potager because the main cafe was full. It was extremely busy despite only just opening so we were lucky to get a table. The greenhouse was very warm so I can imagine in the height of summer maybe you wouldn’t want to sit in there if you don’t like heat. For us though it was perfect with a little coolness provided by clouds. Being surrounded by giant cactus and endless plants is just lovely when you’re sharing a breakfast together. When the breakfast came we just felt so healthy as it was so whole foods rather than faux meat etc. Thick bread, mushrooms, tomato beans, greens - it was delicious. The bread was so good it was like the homemade bread my grandma used to make. Just gorgeous and I can’t wait to go back.

We brought grandsons for the Elf Trail and for their mum’s birthday lunch. Atmosphere is informal, family friendly and cosy with the woodburning stove. The staff were pleasant. Just a pity that the aubergine dish my daughter and I ordered was disappointing - bland “Uncle Ben’s” type rice and no dressing on the spiralised slaw. Needed balancing in flavour and lacked the umami factor that one would expect with aubergine slices marinaded in miso. Shame. The mini mezze for grandsons was much better. A really relaxed destination so we will return and hope to be wowed next time! As a vegan it appears they cater for all tastes, just with not enough flavour. Yallah coffee with Minor Figures oat milk excellent.

We live near the Potager Garden so go there quite regularly for weekend brunch. The food is delicious and the gardens are stunning. Our children love exploring there. I have serious greenhouse envy every time we go!

I went here with my daughter & a friend as was recommended & even though it was raining, we had a lovely time. The meals were tasty & imaginative, good value for money.

Wow, what a delightful find. My daughter & I ordered the vegetarian breakfast and we loved it. With a very large portion size there was enough on the plate to fill a hungry elephant but all the same, we worked our way through it enjoying every delicious mouthful. There was plenty to set one up for the whole day. I had a Latte which was lovely whilst my daughter had a cafetière of coffee, sadly she wasn’t keen on the bean but I understand that it’s a matter of choice.

First let me say that the rating of just three stars applies only to the breakfast I had,the rest of Potager is of course still four plus. One reason that we detoured for a BF here was the delicious feast that it usually was...have you ever had a favorite eating place that after a spell away you find it has changed hands etc...

Potager Garden Cafe occupies the site of an old market garden and then plant nursery. The nursery shut down many years ago and the site became derelict. It was bought by the current owner who sensitively cleared the old site, retaining original greenhouses and mature trees, and converted it into a cafe, artists' studios and gardens.

Variety of excellent meals using good ingredients. Able to eat out side, inside and in the Summer house which was very warm. Great walks too and opportunity to buy plants and other produce,

I’m not vegetarian but find I don’t miss meat at all with Potager’s menu. Highly recommend the full breakfast. The lunchtime frittatas are also glorious!

A wonderful place. We had the best Sunday morning breakfast. The kind that creates a lifelong memory. We walked around and played table tennis and laughed lots. Thank you Potager xx

We visited this cafe for the first time whilst holidaying in the area. We were initially just going to have coffee and cake but when we looked at the lunch options which were still available at almost 3pm we decided to share a frittata and salad followed by a selection of cakes to accompany our coffee. The quality and flavour of the food is exceptional and tastes so natural, so different to the run of the mill options usually found in cafes these days. The whole place has a really nice feel about it, very relaxed and a bit like sitting in a big greenhouse.

We went there for brunch, and got a delicious Potager breakfast, which was excellent value at STG 9. Excellent press-coffee at STG 2.25, however the juice of the day (carrot & ginger etc) was poor value at STG 4 per glass. Plan to take the time for a walk around the property, so relaxed! Highly recommended.
