We stayed for one night meeting friends on the day we arrived. We have stayed before and the food didn't disappoint and the bar was, as usual, friendly and warm.. The owners Lisa and Will and the staff are all so happy and helpful. We went to our room after lunch and it was immaculate and large with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast the next morning was stupendous I couldn't eat it all! As we had had lunch we didn't want a big dinner but our hosts provided us with a gorgeous cheeseboard to take to our room- perfect! Trengilly Wartha is a hidden gem

Really good - if you're looking for an uber modern clinical overnight stay then this is not for you. However, if you're looking for a warm, friendly 'home from home' atmosphere, then The Trengilly Wartha Inn is just the place. I stayed in Room 7 which was perfect for my needs and we'll equipped for my stay. The food was very very good, and I would highly recommend the duck, which I finished the meal with the Baileys Cheesecake - both were beautifully prepared, cooked, and served in a professional but friendly manner. The breakfast was lovely - perfectly poached eggs with toasted homemade bread. I cannot rate this establishment highly enough and will definitely return again, thanks to all the staff and management.

Stayed for 2 nights in the Garden Apartment that was well equipped and provided ideal accommodation for two of us and our dog. Room was spotless and the kitchenette area ideal for self catering for a short stay. We had a lovely meal in the bar/restaurant on the first night. that was much enjoyed. The bar stocks a substantial range of ales. Breakfast comprised a good range of options with hot dishes freshly prepared making a welcome change from buffet style hot plate offerings. The Inn is located in a quiet secluded valley off the beaten track so a car/taxi is essential for access to local towns and amenities in this part of Cornwall. Both Falmouth and Porthleven (Near Helston) 20 minutes drive away are on opposite coasts of the Lizard and are well worth a visit.

We visited Trendily Wartha Inn on Saturday 1st June with my brother & sister-in-law. We all enjoyed our meals, I am a vegetarian and I had the "Chick Pea Cauliflower Curry"... which was delicious and a very nice surprise from the normal vegetarian options I have to choose from at most places ! ! My partner had the Tandoori Chicken with naan bread, twice fried chips & salad which he said was exceptional ! ! We then all finished the meal with a selection of home made desserts. We look forward to returning on our next visit to Cornwall... not only was the food superb, the atmosphere in the Pub added to our enjoyment. Julie H

What an absolute little gem this place is. We were staying locally and went for dinner. The pub had a relaxed atmosphere and our order was taken promptly. The waitress was extremely helpful and when she found one of us was a vegetarian, she couldn't do enough to accommodate us. She even said the chef would do something different to the menu if our party member didn't see anything she fancied. This kind of service is outstanding and fairly uncommon. When the food came it was delicious and the puddings were to die for..all homemade too! We will be returning on our next visit to Cornwall. Thank you again for brilliant food and service!

Spent 1 night here while touring Cornwall - travelling with our small dog made it hard to find accommodation for just one night but this very welcoming unpretentious pub was perfect. We arrived at 6.00 pm after a long day & were warmly greeted even though the pub was pretty busy. Room was more than adequate with good bedding & particularly decent towels. Very quiet, warm (weather was wet & cold) & comfortable - & a great breakfast included. Special mention for the lovely woodland garden with beautiful camellias & magnolias bursting into flower. The dinner (we booked ahead as it was a Saturday night & advisable) was excellent - extremely delicious locally caught mackerel fillets beautifully cooked & presented worth a special mention. Service in bar was also good & the atmosphere & ambience very much to our taste. Thank you.

Excellent restaurant menu delivered promptly by well trained attentive staff. The first course of home made lobster bisque was particularly impressive. Very pleasant evening indeed. We love in Helston , but had never been to Trengilly Wartha Inn previously (our friends Mel & Chris had). What a fantastic pub!! Food was fantastic (2xpie 1xsteak 1xscampi and all had puddings, the Bailey's cheesecake was delicious). Staff were also brilliant. We even got to meet the pub dog noodles. We'll be back. Loved the smell of the wood burner , the fact there was no TV or music. Just happy punters chatting and laughter. Could well be our new favourite, Thank you from Mark Dee , Mel and Chris 👍🏾.

We ate here twice while staying in Mawnan Smith as far nicer than our hotel. It is a proper country pub, plenty of atmosphere, exceptionally friendly staff and a fantastic well priced menu of freshly cooked local ingredients. We had the roast on Sunday which came with such a good selection of vegetables not overcooked, the meat my husband had was tender and flavoursome, I had the nut roast which again was full of flavour and texture. On our 2nd visit I had the pumpkin soup, husband had pigeon breast starter which he'd never had before and enjoyed, I then had sole which was 3 fillets cooked perfectly and my husband had the squid ink pasta. It is so nice when you find a hidden gem like this and we look forward to definitely returning when down this part of Cornwall again.

What a lovely pub! We stayed in the vines apartment for 2 nights with 3 young girls. It was clean, well appointed and really comfortable and perfect for a small family. We ate breakfast both mornings, which was superb, and had dinner one evening too, great local mussels and steak. The folks who work there are all lovely too, made us feel right at home and never made us feel awkward with small children around (as some pubs can). Overall, great place, food and people.

Our 3 night stay was lovely. We had a very spacious garden room which was quiet, comfortable, spotlessly clean and totally well equipped. The pub was a quintessential country inn, charming, warm (physically and in atmosphere) , interesting and serving excellent wines and ales. The sort of pub that you can hunker down for the evening and never want to leave. The food, served in either restaurant or in the bar was delicious, with typical British favourites, like pie and chips and steaks and other interesting western dishes. However with the arrival of new chef Jarr, from Lombok, some spicy new dishes are to be found on the menu like beef rendang and mie goreng. They have a good selection of beers and a nice menu. The food was good, well cooked and presented, and the price although on the high side was acceptable. It was pretty busy and had live music so this tells me it's popular and well supported by local people. All in all, a pleasant evening. Big log fire in the main bar and in the evening a jamming session which was great fun. The landlord was friendly and we bought jars of their marmalade and cantuccini which doesn’t break your teeth! This is a place we would like to return to. Thank you ( I wrote a review which does not appear to have been printed. So I am trying again as this is so worth a good review)

Went for lunch today after seeing it on Cornwall Live website....Constantine Stores was shut for lunch 1-2pm so after a wet walk around Glendurgan Gardens thought we’d stick our heads in. It was quiet but one look at the menu on the wall and we were in!!! Lovely fresh food, friendly staff - we would definitely come back again. We both had the mussels and they were delicious plus the homemade chips were fab a little gem in the middle of nowhere

Our visits to Cornwall are usually spent catching up with friends and family. Our days are always full ,so to return to Trengilly at the end of the day is wonderful, there is always a warm welcome and lively atmosphere in the bar, a good mix of visitors and locals, often with some live folk music, a good taste of Cornish hospitality. Will and Lisa manage just the right balance of making sure guests are comfortable whilst allowing them the enjoyment of their own personal space. A wonderful holiday experience.

Very good food, range of drink good as is service. Daily change of specials and food is well pried considering its fresh and excellent quality. Lots of interesting artwork for sale on walls. Table football in lobby. Nice gardens and lake to go down to see. Off the beaten track but number of cars in car park shows it’s well thought of.

Popped in here with the family for a drink a couple of times while on holiday in the area. Nice pub with friendly staff and a great garden. Good for kids as there is board games etc to keep them happy. Didn't eat here but the food always looked great as well. For anyone interested in Craft beer they sell Verdant Light bulb on tap, if there is not another reason to visit, this is!!

This pub was highly rated on trip advisor hence I booked it for our first day in Cornwall so that we didn't have to travel round searching for Sunday lunch. It was quite difficult to find, down very twisty turny roads, which was fine and expected, but once there it didn't live up to expectations. We had a corner table with uncomfortable chairs/benches and no windows around at all. Food was uninspiring at best. All in all I wouldn't go again.

We had a lovely family meal here. We were staying at Nancenoy Farmhouse so just had to walk across lane. Fresh mackerel from the Helford river and hake were just two of the delights. Wish we lived here!!

Had no previous knowledge and found this Inn on the internet, guided by the need to visit a friend near Helston. Needed to be dog friendly as unable or indeed unwilling to leave ours at home. Arrived eventually via GPS assistance, at 8.30 pm and met by friendly helpful staff. Assured of a meal we found our room very comfortable and with the en suite very clean. In the busy bar area we met the owner who was more than helpful and chose our meal which was faultless. The beer and wine selection did not disappoint. The following day we were able to appreciate the extensive grounds, ideal for dog owners and wished we had taken our boules. Stayed for two nights and will return if not only to try some of the amazing food on the menu. Many thanks to

We called into this pub on the way back from Trebah Gardens, via a minor road. It is in a lovely peaceful location, so I would imagine it would be lovely to stay here.

Had a lovely relaxing two nights as a couple. Warm friendly welcome from the staff and their four legged friends! Beautiful position in a quiet Cornish valley and great location to visit all areas in the very south of Cornwall. Book a table as the meals are good value and beautifully cooked, beware of the starters, lovely but large! The accommodation is very clean and comfortable, all that you need and more. An excellent place to reconnect with nature and recharge your batteries. It’s worth the effort as the sat nav takes you through interesting narrow lanes, but the hedgerows are amazing covered in bluebells at this time of year. Thank you for the hospitality we really enjoyed and will be visiting again

Very welcoming, Great ice cream flavours. Especially the Ferrero Roche and Millionaires shortbread. Lady went above and beyond for our dog letting her sit in the shade on a 25 degree day to enjoy her pup cup. Thank you!

the only place open on a Sunday on St Martins! So glad it was open, it was absolutely heaving but we got there in time to get seats and what was left of the cakes and drinks.

Found this delightful upstairs cafe by chance and had some of the best vegetarian food for a long time. We were made very welcome and chose the hummus bowl and roasted veg toasted sandwich. Both were excellent and very filling.
