The best restaurants in Clifton East Bristol, City of South West

Had a caremal frappe with coffee in it today, 03.05.25. Was terrible. It had not been shaken which one does in order to blend in the coffee well with other ingredients and the caramel was only on the top of the cream. There seemed to be non in the inside of the glass to be able to taste it in the drink. Also there was way to much ice. The drink seemed so watered down. The worst frappe I have had. I will stick with Starbucks just around the corner in Clifton Down shopping centre, they do a fantastic frappe with coffee. I asked about their free WiFi and the guy said I have to register with my email. One apparently has to register a account with a password as well as a email address, please provide correct information. The guy who served me was efficient and fast but seemed offish in behaviour, not friendly. In customer service jobs you need to be friendly and bubbly all the time.

I genuinely mean this, the nicest pizza I have ever eaten in my entire life. Absolutely loved this place. Lovely atmosphere, nice friendly staff who got the level of attention just right. Awesome food. Nice fries and dip as well. The kids loves their pizzas and the price was very good. Had a lovely pint of IPA to top it off.

The ingredients are very fresh, and the cooking technology and seasoning are excellent! It‘s a very valuable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Went into the pub after our football match, and what a place. Tv screens everywhere, loads of space for everyone, but most importantly great service. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. This will be our go to pub from now on.

Pedí la patata especial de la chaqueta del chef con gambas en salsa Rose Marye. Las gambas eran en realidad camarones, no es lo mismo. Y la salsa era pobre. Cuando planteé esto con el pub más tarde, el chef (también el propietario así que saque sus propias conclusiones) fue bastante grosero y muy a la defensiva. Insistiendo en que eran gambas. No lo eran. No regresaré pronto.

We hired The Eldon House for our engagement party, and it was absolutely perfect. With 80 guests, the venue provided a fantastic atmosphere and catered us with a mix of bread, cheese, and charcuterie. Izzy was brilliant—so warm and welcoming—and she went above and beyond to make the evening special. She even gave us a free drink on arrival to congratulate us, which was such a lovely touch. We were able to rearrange the space exactly how we wanted and brought our own party lights and used their PA system for the music. Although some locals were using the main bar initially, after about an hour, our guests filled the whole pub, creating an amazing vibe. Izzy was also incredibly accommodating—she let us drop off things early and kept them safe overnight so we could collect them the next day. We brought our own cake, which was no problem at all. Communication throughout the process was easy and no question was too small. Everyone had a fantastic time, and it truly felt like a hidden gem for hosting a party. We wouldn’t hesitate to use The Eldon House again in the future. Highly recommended!

Cosmo is my go-to buffet restaurant. As a vegetarian, I mentioned to Ujjwol that there had been fewer options recently, and the Cosmo team specially prepared a vegan dish just for us. If you a a vegan/vegetarian, just let them know.

Whilst my wife attended the vegan cheese making course down at River Cottage HQ, I set up camp at the cafe to work. I reserved a table in advance (lucky I did as its Mothers Day weekend and they are very busy), and they have allowed me to stay all day…so I have decided to try all their vegan options. Started off with the wild mushrooms, lemony hummus and sourdough toast, followed later by the chocolate and beetroot tart (oh my word! So light and refreshing!) and just finished off the Parsnip Soup, which was a thing of beauty and tasted amazing. The staff have been so lovely and welcoming and it’s been such a lovely environment to sit and work. I think I might come back next weekend, maybe with the dog.

Awesome food, friendly great service, good value for money, definitely recommend. Chips perfect!!!!
