Great friendly place, great prices for food (Pizza's) and drinks. Will be calling in again for sure on next visit to Bristol.

Tried to book a table for two. I called to ask about food. The guy who answered was rude and unprofessional. It's not the first time that I have had a bad experience.

Very noisy pub on a weekend night. Different sport TVs all over the place with the sound on and you cannot listen to the person in front of you and maintain a conversation.

I had a good ale but not many choises. This pub is perfect for watching football. It is a two story pub having many screens and a large space.

Only went in for drinks. Gets really busy and can be quite hard to get served but all in all a good spot for a pint.

Great little back street pub with loads of character. A hidden gem.

Visited mid afternoon. Music extremely loud. Barman extremely unfriendly. Did not come to us at the bar, but rather made us go up to him whilst he was playing on his phone at the very end of the bar. Ignored us saying hello to him, in fact didn’t even mutter a single word throughout the transaction.

Lovely pub, really nice staff - lost a point for not having food choices, just pizza (which was due to the chef being ill, but meant my gluten free friend couldn't eat with us). The veggie pizza I had was delicious, and we had a fun evening with friends there for our Christmas get together 🎄

Looks just like a simple local pub, but in reality - quite more then that. We had our Christmas meal there and I never expect much from Christmas meal at the pub. But this time it was amazing! Very delicious and generous portions. Service was on the top. Thank you so much for the great night.

We went to this venue this evening, the food to be fair was excellent but it took forever to serve the food which meant most of the party had left before the mains were served and every few of the party stuck around for the desert, Overall’s a pretty terrible experience, if your looking to book for food stay away

Hired an area for a large group to have drinks at Christmas- staff were brilliant and we had lots of space to relax and enjoy the evening. It’s a great venue to have a large group or party.

Noisy and dingy could do with updating. Not cheap for drinks £4 for a Glass of Coke

This is such an average boozer - multiple floors, giant screens beaming sport 24/7, average beer line up… so it’s a surprise how good their Sunday roast is. Excellent value, good quality, huge portions. Easy to get a table due to the size of the place. You can’t really go wrong really. Despite the perpetually Decidedly average service ( which I think is a Bristol affliction to be honest) and the most recent time I came all their beer was off meaning only lager or guiness.

Decent venue to watch sport. Limited average selection of tap beers. Kitchen issues so we didn’t end up eating.

Went here with parents after a long drive where everywhere else was booked up! Despite appearances and a 35 min wait, boy was the food worth it!!! It was a Sunday so we had the roast menu and everything was cooked to perfection and plated in an interesting way with the most gorgeous Yorkshire Pud I've ever had. We got one beef, one chicken and one pork and I can safely say I haven't seen pub food this well done in a while. Definitely defied expectations so compliments to the chef!

We booked out part of the pub for a party and was just so lovely. We were allowed to make the place our own with decorations and the buffet food was so tasty! All the staff were amazing but Imogen and Cara were just absolutely incredible, anything we needed they went the extra mile for. Just such a lovely environment and beautiful pub! Thank you so much, we will definitely be back!

Pretty bad, ordered a burger, it came I about 3 minutes, the lady did say they had made an extra burger as a mistake so that's why it came so quick, started eating it and it was lukewarm, I asked for one to be cooked fresh for me, 15mins later it comes and I'm 99 percent sure it was the same burger! (The chips were definitely the same-stone cold!) The lady said we threw on extra cheese for you, I think to try make it look better, anyways I ate cause I couldn't be bothered to complain again and it was way overcooked, perhaps they had put the patty back on the grill! Only gave it two stars because the lady was frien

It was not a great experience, and frankly, I wish I had cooked at home. We booked a table for a family Sunday lunch, which wasn't ready when we arrived. Meal options were not available, and availability kept changing, even after we had already ordered. Our food was served at different times, so 2 out of our party of 7 ate, whilst the remaining 5 were watching. My sweet potato, beetroot, and spinach vegetarian option had no signs of beetroot nor spinach. The only cancellation was that we were offered free drinks as an apology. We will not be back.

Had a really nice roast here yesterday. Friendly staff and a great size pub. Would be really good pub for and event.

Overall a dissappointing experience... We 5 years ago greatly appreciated this pub and their Sunday lunches were very nice. However today we were dissappointed, the food was dissappointing, the tables were sticky, the food came over the course of 40 minutes. Thankfully We received a free bottle of wine for the issues we had... But I unfortunately doubt We will be returning here again...

Had a really special surprise birthday party here for 25 people. The venue was free but we ordered some buffet food which was very tasty. They let us put up decorations and bring our own cake. Fey was really accommodating and responsive in the months leading up to the day and the team were very friendly and helpful on the day. I would definitely recommend having an event at the Kings Arms.

When we're paying £20 for two drinks, we really expect a slice of fruit with a gin. Atmosphere was dreadful. The staff & management could not have been less interested.

We had our leaving party here with 70 people and it was a great venue! The space was roped off for us so people not apart of our event couldn’t come into our area which was great. We were on the top floor with a bar only a small flight of stairs down which made getting drinks really easy and we were able to decorate our space! Thank you so much to all the team who were all really helpful and helped make our event very enjoyable!

Called in, not expecting anything great, but it was so welcoming! Menu was brilliant, staff, professional and polite, it took 7s by surprise, and would thoroughly recommend. Thankyou to everyone involved.

Nice staff, great old pub vibe, we had the 2-4-1 cocktails and they were happy to make us some virgin cocktails on request. Food not served after 6 on a Sunday which didn't realise, but will go again when they do serve food.

Expensive and poor beer choices. When I visited no guinness, two real ales and pint of pale ale was £6.20 and a cask option £5.20. Staff a bit disinterested.

Amazing service from the super friendly & attentive team! I had the nut roast. Exceptional presentation and the taste and flavours were amazing. Hats off to the team excellent job! Highly recommend this amazing venue!

This place do marvellous burgers, as good as any of the gourmet burger restaurants I've been to! They also do loaded fries which are equally good. Will pop in back for sure!

The second wickwar pub I’ve been to and to my surprise Sara(h) from the royal oak was there! It was so lovely to see her and as always impeccable service, absolute star of a lady! The whole atmosphere in this pub was incredible and overall just had an amazing night! Thank you to all the beautiful staff and the star girl, the kings arms is lucky to have her!

So grateful to all the staff at The Kings Arms that helped us (Woodlands Metro) celebrate Christmas together. The stage, PA system and lights made it very easy to bring in a band with minimal kit. The staff could not have been more helpful. Thank you all for a great night!!

Nice pub, with polite and hospitable staff. Not a full five stars as there was not enough choice of GF beers (get some Bristol Beer Factory or Cheddar Ales in stock please as Peroni is boring) and the coffee machine milk frother was not functional so a latte became an americano.

Better than average for the local area. Service was particularly good.

Gorgeous pub; was treated to the Afternoon Tea and had a great time! The cakes were all freshly made and delicious, nice choice of teas and table with a great view. Highly recommended!

Best chicken burger I've ever had!

STEAK EN FRITES-- Amazing! Best steak I had so far as compared to other pubs I've been. A bit small but very tender. Chips were cooked perfectly and the side salad is great. Just 4 stars because the toilets need a lot of cleaning. Overwhelming smell of urine as you walk in. Puts off a lot of customers especially if they're sat by the tables near the toilets. PLEASE do something about this. Will definitely come back for food and drinks again 😊

I booked the Afternoon tea for myself and my mother as a Christmas present and it was amazing. The scones were freshly made and still warm, freshly made éclairs and the best egg sandwiches I think I have ever tasted! I paid for the more expensive option but it was definitely worth the money. We had prosecco and a selection of teas waiting for us at the table when we arrived and an amazing spread of bitesized delights following shortly after. We will definitely come back and do it again!

Came in for a drink and walked to the bar with a smile on my face, only to be greeted, or not greeted shall I say, by staff looking miserable and uninterested, when I got served it was very blunt and when I asked a question the bar team were chatting to themselves ignoring me (the question was asked while I was paying) I had to re ask 3 times before I finally got an answer which was said in rude tone. I understand if it had been busy but it was fairly quiet and I also understand people aren’t always smiley at work, but that service was ridiculous.

Great party space, food was lovely and the communication with staff to organise was easy.

We booked a Christmas meal for our group of seventeen friends for £25 a head over six weeks in advance. The menu we were provided offered, amongst other things, beef Wellington as a main and stated that all meals came with roast potatoes, sprouts, root veg and red cabbage. While the starters were good, the 'Wellington' was falsely advertised and would be more accurately called a beef pasty, which was fine but not what we had ordered or paid for. The trimmings promised on the menu never arrived, with kale and rubbery cabbage being served in their stead - so long after the mains were plated that almost our entire party had finished their mains to avoid them getting cold. Furthermore one member (our organiser) had an allergy which was clearly communicated to the pub on multiple occasions and noted in the provided spreadsheet of our meal choices. Despite this she unknowingly ordered and was served a main containing the allergen. Luckily she checked before eating, to have her food then taken away and replaced with a 'chicken supreme' with no sauce that was so dry as to be borderline inedible. Shortly after dinner a plate of cheap shots arrived with an apology for the poor service, which hardly made up for it. During a discussion with the manager he effectively refused to take responsibility, blaming kitchen organisation issues. He eventually offered us a 10% discount on the bill and a free drink each, which while disappointing considering what we had actually received, we accepted so as to attempt to enjoy the rest of our evening. We also requested that the individual with the allergen have her meal comped which it was. Overall, I could not recommend eating or holding events here. I would also like to mention that these criticisms are not directed at the bar and wait staff who obviously has little do with the organisation of our night.

Went here for a Christmas Carvery booked with 30 people, most of who were vegetarian/vegan (we told them the numbers in advance). They provided several meat plates and only a handful of veggie/vegan plates. There was a single bowl of potatoes, a handful of carrots and Brussels, 1 bowl of falafel and some Yorkshire puddings with cauliflower cheese (which some people were told were vegan when they weren’t!). Honestly most the people left hungry after we spent about £400 for this booking. On top of this on my table alone there were 4 mistakes with drinks (overcharged, wrong drink, given non alcoholic when asked for alcoholic & sour lager). We complained and they said “there should be enough there” and walked off. Honestly a huge waste of money and ruined a good night.

Lovely pub... very spacious upstairs and the bar staff really friendly and efficient. It was perfect for a party and the food/buffet was a nice mix 👌 They really looked after us. Found a parking space around the corner outside Creativity and walked up. 3 mins if that.

Very friendly bar staff, very knowledgeable about beer and larger. Lovely pub. However the toilets on the middle floor need a deep clean. Strong smell of urine in the passage way before you even get to the toilets!

I was here a little while ago to eat. i ordered a classic burger (awful dry burger without salt. 12.95 for a measly burger and 20 counted fries. no coleslaw or salads. terrible i know they are looking for kitchen assistants i think they should resell from head chef to full menu ...this my job and I thinkso I have all of experience to make this complain.

We had a great Sunday lunch in the Kings Arms. We had the pork which was tender, extremely tasty and well cooked and the duo of beef which was equally as fab. The rest of the food was also great down to the lovely gravy and vegetables. The ingredients were good quality and handled very well. I finished with the crumble which was also great and obviously homemade. We thought all of the staff were friendly, relaxed and welcoming, we’ll definitely go back and will recommend with no hesitation.

I've only visited during the day. They have a nice terrace. Bloody marys are good!

The staff are so welcoming and accommodating, the food is consistently good (the dirty fries and Sunday roasts in particular) the managers Charlie and Marion are very helpful with all queries and to top it off theyre dog friendly! They always have a bowl of water and some treats ready for our Bassett Hound whenever we pop by Highly recommend the monthly samba nights too!

Great sports pub with many HD TV dotted around to watch sport. Typical expensive Bristol prices for the beers.

Best Sunday Roast we have ever had. We tried the beef and the pork ones. Great selection of beers, good atmosphere. Will definitely come back to try the other roasts and will certainly try the rest of foods and beers of the menu.

Visited on a Saturday Evening about 9.30pm and the pub was very very quiet. Really large venue with music so we were happy enough and had a whole section to ourselves. Previously we have visited and there have been parties so the atmosphere has been much better. Good place though, staff are friendly so would definitely visit again

we live just a short distance from this pub which previously was an OK place to visit once in a while for a quick drink but now transformed retaining a pleasant bar downstairs but adding a very nice dining room with high quality food upstairs. We have had one Sunday lunch and two evening meals there over the past few months. The dining room is really pleasant, the food very high quality. Not cheap but good value and makes a change from endless steaks, burgers, pasta and fish and chips. Emphasis on fish and also game when we were there. The service is also good. Do pay a visit!

The best pub on Whiteladies. Lots of seating, friendly mixed crowd, well staffed and some nice Wickwar ales (Bob and Falling Star) and interesting lagers and pale ales. Try the pretzel bread burger buns.

Normally, I don't particularly leave reviews for things close to home. I like leaving the review, but the review is for me. Its to help remind me what's good when I'm out and about and travelling. We've had a few steaks here in the past, and given today it was wet, miserable, Sunday and I was generally not well disposed towards the kitchen, we called in. We'd forgotten it was Sunday, so tried the Sunday Roast. Oh gosh yes. Not that is anything wrong with a carvery, but this was nothing like said carvery. This was a nicely plated up piece of beef, a huge Yorkshire and a mix of vegetables. Carveries sometimes overdo the quantity and underdo the quality. Not being a carvery, this didn't. If I niggle anywhere, the beef was a little too done, but the Yorkshire is one the most enjoyable I've had anywhere. And coupled with the delicious gravy and the veg, well, I loved every mouthful. We stayed for a dessert and opted for the crumble. Mrs Mooke said this best. It was the best she's had. Perhaps cream may work better for me, but I concur with Mrs Mooke. An excellent crumble. And we had merely to stumble down hill home. I mentioned that I've had a steak here before, and from that I have to say that every one ordered has been perfect in its cooking. And the meat supplier is good too, because frankly, those steaks melted in the mouth. The staff are excellent. The only other I mention is that if salt is not your thing, if you mention it when order, the chef reduced the amount used for me. No, question. This place is a 5. I selfishly want to rate it a 1* so travellers go elsewhere and leave the place for us locals. Staff super; food good. Right on my doorstep. 5* all day, happy to report.

Very friendly, good prompt service, dog friendly, very nice menus including vegetarian options,. Lots of rooms on several floors furnished in homely vintage style. Very nice atmosphere. Definitely would visit agaiin for a drink or a meal. Table reservation was very straight forward.

Absolutely love this pub, it's one of my local favourites. We went yesterday for food but they had ran out of what we'd ordered, but they gave us a couple of bottle of wines and took our replacement meals off the bill as a way of apology. The person who told us was so sincere. Absolutely outstanding customer service. I'll definitely be coming again. ♥️

First time going here since its been taken over. The place is full of televisions! Everywhere you turn is a TV showing sport. The music was so loud too that everyone has to shout but this was turned down after we asked. We had gone in there for a quiet meal! The food is not a patch on the previous owners food. Burgers were small and dry and children's fish and chips were weird to the point my daughter wouldn't eat it, they were coated in a very thick breadcrumb coating with something g inside but not sure it was fish! No sweet chilli mayo and no Redleg rum.... don't think we'll be heading back there in a hurry! We used to live this place 😪
