Good selection of beers and I like the atmosphere inside, but outside could be nicer. Always had nice staff. They have a few cool events here like board game night by North Street Games. I think you can book out the room upstairs.

One of the best bars/pubs in the area. Friendly staff fabulous drinks hidden rear courtyard with covered area.

Nice decor inside. Plants, comfy sofas and seating. Dog friendly. ( No stars for food, as yet, as just calling in for a refreshing 'Pravha' ) at lunchtime.

What a wonderful establishment. The young blonde lad - what a romantic! The trendy brown haired bartender made me laugh till I couldn't no more. The young lass served me the best gin and tonic I've had in my 50 years

Be nicer when the renovation is finished. A little too 'rustic' at this point. But was ok, considering there's still a lot to do.

Love this pub, it’s cosy and friendly. They allow dogs too! Theres a mix of sofas and normal seating as well as a big outside area.

Bare in mind they don't do food, ambience is nice (garden at the back) good drinks

Lovely little pub at the start of North Street. Had a delicious cask ale in the pub garden in the sun. Last year they went keg only so avoided the place. Randomoly saw a Facebook announcement from them saying they had brought the casks back. There were two cask ale lines on when I visited. So glad they have! Highly recommend the place.

Great pub and open late! Last place open on a bank holiday Sunday so win for me. Great selection of local beers and comfy seats.

Although this place contained steam, it lacked cranes. I appreciate that it is hard to get a 400ft crane into a two storey building, but having a misleading name is completely unacceptable. Always a great selection of keg beers on tap, and since they don't serve food you can bring takeaway in from somewhere else or even have it delivered.

Relaxed space, friendly staff, great outdoor area and dogs are welcome.

It's a nice pub, and I think it's the first themed builders pub. They must spend a fortune employing actors to pretend to be builders. And the set pieces of half finished building projects and recorded banging are very realistic and sublime.

It's ok, but I'm sure it used to be better. Everything just seems a bit off. A bit too brightly lit, furniture that doesn't really fill the space properly and no real identity. A shame because it could be amazing with the right items in there.

Nice pub in Southville staff are all super friendly and they have a large beer garden with plenty of seating. They don't have your standard lagers or ciders on tap but the brewery that supplies their craft beers/ciders is quite nice. Reasonably priced etc. Friendly staff make up for any of those shortfalls. Good atmosphere bit of an older crowd 23+

Last night (28 Feb 22) friends and I went there quite late and the person serving was super nice and friendly. The pub has a great feel and a good selection of beers, including Blue Moon!

Calçotada winter bbq 20/02/22, totally original Catalan cuisine and Mediterranean flavours from my land Catalunya and the great presentation of the table with the olives and the 'pa amb tomaquet'... Congratulations to 'El Mestre' (the Chef/Owner) specially for the delicious homemade 'salsa romesco' sauce and the calçots, and the carn a la brasa with the white mongetes. I had the opportunity to share it with my friends here and it was very special. I also want to thanks the staff for such a great service and work, and attention to detail and to the clients. I will 100% recommend the pub which is beautiful and spotless.

Perfect place to come for a few relaxed pints on a sunday. The barman was chatting with locals at their tables whilst still manning the bar very efficiently. We would 100% recommend this place and will certainly be back next Sunday, if not before!

Gutted with the renovation! Used to at least have a few comfy chairs/sofas and was really hoping they’d embrace that vibe more…but they’ve all gone, and there’s nothing but hard, characterless, uncomfortable chairs and tables crammed in. Had so much potential to be a much needed cosy pub on north street but ah well. Hope others enjoy what they’ve done.

A group visited for a birthday drink which coinsided with the Euro's finial. Understandably the drink service was a little slow. As staff swept about the pitch in a 4-4-2 delivery pattern. Reading other reviews about Sunday Roast , well crisps seemed to be all that was available. However with a 19:30 booking and an 8pm kick off! Crisps were simply a welcome distraction to stop the bitting of nails or nerves during the second half. With both extra time then Pens it was clear the staff had past the levels of all the training during the qually's. IMhO the management should have foreseen and made substitutions to easy the strain. Tensions reached boiling point 10 pens in and well, some staff buckled. The ⚽ game was over 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 finished second. It was at this point the signs within the exhausted team showed even further. After a member of their security team whom had asked everyone to remain seated throughout the game. Blocked the view of the screen, which OFC encouraged patrons to stand so they might see the pens. A friend was asked to leave (I don't know why, but clearly the uncomfortable feelings I imagine their security staff felt with 100+ people standing cheering and in utter disappointment, clearly had an impact) I returned a jacket to my friend and was also asked to leave (without explanation) OK they where tired and pushed past breaking point, so not securities fault. It was past the penalty shootout so was winding down anyway. The atmosphere was amazing throughput the game. Without any incident dispite the large numbers. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 played wonderfully The Crane management team should take a close look at their stategy next season and provided a better planned solution taking into consideration the mental well-being of all their staff, whom for the most part performed admirably. No subs, no breaks and work pressures which might add to stress levels and no planned procedures or measures to mitigate incidents to staff or punters. If I were allowed back into your establishment I wouldn't choose to visit it again. My admiration to the service your staff provided. Alongside my utter disappointment that management's lack of planning or foresight added friction to a situation that was always going to be emotional. I am thankful that AFAIK nobody was hurt or injured.

I've been to this bar many times over the last year, but today was my first visit post covid. I arrived with my dog in tow and early to meet a friend. I hadn't booked a table and was pleased to walk in with minimal fuss and a warm greeting by Tom who offered dog biscuits and provided fresh water for the dog. The bar doesn't serve hot drinks at present, but one was gasping for a cuppa and Tom being the legend he is made me a coffee. Place is not only a great bar with lots of outdoor space, dog friendly but the service and personal touches just make this bar an absolute winner. 100% recommend

Friendly staff, all covid 19 restrictions put in place. Enjoyed a nice alcoholic drink shame the kitchen wasn't in use. But overall great experience with lots of space in and outside to sit.

I recommend you visit the steam crane, it's got a great vibe going on. The staff are helpful and the layout is spot on. The Covid procedures are great and carried out correctly, and not at all intrusive.. A great social experience.

We initially visited the pub with no stress and enjoyed the service. After a while, it became clear the "manager" had an issue with serving customers in general, including one of our friends. For example, we heard her say to the table next door that she "could not be bothered to serve drinks to anyone anymore for the evening".She also approached our table with hostility and aggressiveness and began accusing one of the members of our party of being overly intoxicated. He was perfectly calm and coherent, but it was clear that she was unwilling to serve him and others around us due to the stress that she was feeling. Overall, after a year of lockdown, this was an extremely uncomfortable session and I would highly recommend that individuals reconsider visiting this establishment if they are looking for a drama-free and adult experience when re-visiting pubs post-COVID.

What a shame. Music so loud from about 10 large speakers all the way around the pub. Could not to speak to friends 2 feet away. This was at 8pm. Requested reduction in music level and ignored. Left and went to standard. It is a pub and not a disco! Used to enjoy this great pub

De acuerdo, nadie murió y mi vida no fue arruinada por esta experiencia, pero es un error personal mío cuando los lugares cierran mucho antes de su tiempo anunciado. Incluso en una ciudad importante como Bristol, acepto que los domingos por la noche a menudo están tan muertos como un dodo, por eso muchos lugares cierran temprano, pero si un lugar anuncia que es domingo a las 12 a 10 pm, no espero entrar a las cinco las nueve pasadas solo para que me digan "lo siento, estamos cerrados".
