We have just hosted our son’s 21st birthday party for 70 guests. The Channings is such an attractive building and the function room downstairs is brilliant. It’s a great, welcoming and versatile space, very spacious with plenty of seating, and ample space for mingling and dancing. It was already adorned with fairy lights so we simply added some decorations, put some money behind the bar and relaxed! The venue has its own entrance and private outside space, also having access to the attractive pub garden. It’s ideally located for the late night bars and clubs in Clifton afterwards. The bar staff were so friendly and helpful and made sure the party went smoothly from start to finish. They had the utmost patience and worked so hard all evening! I can highly recommend this venue and would definitely use again!!

We stayed here as it was near relatives and we had an enjoyable visit. Staff were amazing with us all and breakfast was great with a selection of continental and fresh cooked options. Many thanks to Bradley for assisting my father with our dinner reservation.

We visited the restaurant for dinner and were accommodated in a double room. I rate the restaurant very positively, as it has great prices.

Booked a function here last month . For my friends 30th birthday . The space was great, the staff was great with us . The beer garden was huge which is always nice to see. Very quick service and always friendly faces

Came in for a pint and a little bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised with our visit . Service was great and the food was awesome. Would definitely recommend coming here! Special thanks the staff they were great !

A good place to stay the night even though is by the motorway, it is quiet at night, room is good, no refrigerator in the room unfortunately so if you are planing to stay for few days and want to keep few things refrigerated, look for another place, shops and restaurants are also within reach.

Great location for Clifton and service was excellent. Bedrooms are very tired and stains on walls looked very unsightly.

The Channings hotel was an amazing place to stay at, the building itself looked wonderful and the inside was extremely clean and tidy. Dean and the rest of the staff were all lovely and more than happy to go above and beyond! Will definitely come back again.

If you’re after a pint that’s poured with care, Head to the pub where Will's in the air. The quizmaster's wit keeps the crowd in line, While his pints are perfectly fine. With every pour, the froth is just right, A place where good times flow all night.

Went in for some food over the weekend while we had some sun in Clifton. Was amazing, food wait was OK gave me a chance to catch up with the girls. Would recommend for a local fair priced watering hole if your ever around the area havnt stayed at the hotel as live locally but if the bar and garden are as nice as they are I assume the rooms match

Me and my partner love the Channings and visit every time we are in the local area. The building is beautiful and Dan and the team always make us feel welcome including our dog who always gets a little treat which he has become quite accustomed too. The pub is also impeccably clean and every single time we have food it’s absolutely delicious and very good value for money. I am very much looking forward to some warmer weather so we can sit outside in their spacious garden. Thankyou to everyone who remembers our names and makes us feel special every time we visit, it really is appreciated.

Sara and the whole team always looks after us would highly recommend. Jaz is also one of the most attentive staff. Guiness is amazing.

what a fantastic venue... its bloody lush i was here the other week, visiting my friends and they suggested going to the Channings for a cheeky pint and i was pleasantly surprised, nice menu choices, plenty to choose from, i went for the loaded fries and they were stunning. The staff are lovely too, the supervisor with lots of tattoos and black hair really made our visit here the best, Kayla i think her name is, she was so welcoming and funny also id like to mention taylor as she was very friendly and accommodating . i will definatly be returning again soon. :)

I met a friend for a drink. I had to stand at the bar for over 5 minutes while the girl slowly made a basic latte. Finally someone else come over, no apology for the ridiculously long wait, I ordered a Blue Moon in bottle 330ml. I was handed the bottle, no glass, no orange slice. And then charged £5.70!!! Insane. Don’t go here. Don’t support them. Awful service and even worse prices!!!

Great local spot for some lunch, there is a selection to choose from for a local affordable lunch menu which includes a drink. Staff are always friendly and the building is absolutely stunning.

Tried it for Sunday roast. Wished we hadn’t . Food was very poor quality and initially came out cold. For an inexpensive Sunday roast you’d be better off going to a local carvery. However the service was good and the manager apologized for the meals and refunded our bill . Wouldn’t recommend for food but it looks like an ok place for a drink with a good sized beer garden. They have large screen for Footy / sports .

Very friendly staff, nice wide selection of breakfasts on offer including cooked. Rooms are tired and dated however for the money we spent and the location we were in we felt it was good value for money. Many thanks to the manager Bradley for helping with our luggage on arrival and knowledge of the local area.

I had the pleasure of dining at Channing’s around Christmas, and it was truly a delightful experience. The decorations inside were absolutely beautiful, and the grand Christmas tree added such a warm and festive touch. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. It was a lovely way to celebrate the season.

Information for Dog owners - The Channings hotel in Bristol - say they are a dog-friendly hotel. They are not. Dogs are not allowed to stay in the hotel. You need to make this clear on your site Channings hotel. You are misleading people. *REPLY to Channings hotel* - where is it 'clearly stated on your website' as you suggest? As the front page photo I uploaded shows, it says clearly: Channings Hotel - and below it: 'Dog friendly". You're concerned about hotel clientele being allergic, but not restaurant clientele being allergic? All I am doing is letting people know so they are not misled, like I was.

Very nice place for drinks with friends! The vibe was super chill, and Alejandra took such good care of me and my friends yesterday—she was so friendly and on top of everything! Also, the food was even better than I expected. Definitely coming back for another night out here.

Beautiful location in the heart of Clifton, very close to all kinds of amenities. Very good range of beers and ales and the food quality is very good for a Greene King.
