Great family roast for affordable prices

Meg, siddha, Quin, Jake and Sam were all lovely and very accommodating. Drinks were nice.

Tried it for Sunday roast. Wished we hadn’t . Food was very poor quality and initially came out cold. For an inexpensive Sunday roast you’d be better off going to a local carvery. However the service was good and the manager apologized for the meals and refunded our bill . Wouldn’t recommend for food but it looks like an ok place for a drink with a good sized beer garden. They have large screen for Footy / sports .

Absolutely beautiful building with inside furniture matching . A hidden gem. With friendly staff and spacious interior it is a good place for groups and small parties. I love being here

Very friendly staff, nice wide selection of breakfasts on offer including cooked. Rooms are tired and dated however for the money we spent and the location we were in we felt it was good value for money. Many thanks to the manager Bradley for helping with our luggage on arrival and knowledge of the local area.

I had the pleasure of dining at Channing’s around Christmas, and it was truly a delightful experience. The decorations inside were absolutely beautiful, and the grand Christmas tree added such a warm and festive touch. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. It was a lovely way to celebrate the season.

Service from The girls behind the bar was fanatic didn't catch their names one had dark hair and powerful tattoos and one lady was blonde with glasses!! So attentive

Information for Dog owners - The Channings hotel in Bristol - say they are a dog-friendly hotel. They are not. Dogs are not allowed to stay in the hotel. You need to make this clear on your site Channings hotel. You are misleading people. *REPLY to Channings hotel* - where is it 'clearly stated on your website' as you suggest? As the front page photo I uploaded shows, it says clearly: Channings Hotel - and below it: 'Dog friendly". You're concerned about hotel clientele being allergic, but not restaurant clientele being allergic? All I am doing is letting people know so they are not misled, like I was.

Very nice place for drinks with friends! The vibe was super chill, and Alejandra took such good care of me and my friends yesterday—she was so friendly and on top of everything! Also, the food was even better than I expected. Definitely coming back for another night out here.

Great pub with delicious food! We came for lunch with our family, and nothing was too much for the lovely staff (who made eating out with children so much easier!!)

Beautiful location in the heart of Clifton, very close to all kinds of amenities. Very good range of beers and ales and the food quality is very good for a Greene King.

The food was fantastic they were happy to cater to my friends allergy really well staff were really knowledgeable. The new kitchen team are excellent and super speedy! Megan and Bradley were outstanding Monika too

Lovely pub nestled in clifton. the building has plenty of character with hotel rooms above. The pub was really busy when I was here but I was well looked after and the atmosphere was very pleasant. the pub has 2 bars and a large garden. the lower bar shows all sports and has a pool table. I had the Fish and Chips which was beautifully cooked and was great value for the area. the team were very friendly too! cant wait to come back again

Totally neglected, the rooms were very old, my room couldn't even be closed, you had to slam the door to close it and when we returned the cleaning service hadn't closed it properly and only by pushing it opened. If you go in summer and it's hot, it doesn't have air conditioning, just a rather noisy fan. The rooms are large and the bed is comfortable, but in general everything is very old and neglected, peeling walls, dirty curtains, old and dirty carpet as well. Of course for the price there are many better options in Bristol

Great service and top quality roast dinner for the price paid. Our server, the new manager was an asset to the team, made sure our food was ok and got us some extra sauces with our roasts.

Came in on a Sunday for some food. Relaxed atmosphere, great choice of food and drink. Service was very good. Would definitely recommend. Tacos were really good.

Oh dear, where to begin. We came before an event locally. The pub wasn’t busy, and 4 or 5 bar staff on the bar. Ordered food, and nothing appears 20 minutes later. Went to the bar, to ask when we might expect food. The staff seemed confused, turns out order hadn’t gone through ‘as the kitchen printer was out of paper’! I asked when it might be ready, and told 15 minutes. 20 minutes, still no food! Again return to the bar, and no one can say how long. I now need to cancel the order to get to event. Takes 10 minutes for manager to sort out the tab! No apology from the grumpy manager, although one bar staff was lovely. I know things can go wrong, but talk to your customer, and if it’s gone wrong, don’t sulk!

Great location. Quite tired in terms of decor and maintenance. Tables were sticky and grubby and it was hard to get a seat. Not a great choice of non-alcoholic drinks other than standard pub soft drinks. The pink fizz 'mocktail' was poor and just tasted like an overpriced lemonade.

Been here few times over 6 years ago and loved it and also few days ago for dinner with my coworkers, delicious food good drinks on good price. We would've stayed longer if we didn't have work the next day 😀. The garden is very big.

Nice area to sit outside in and was accessible for where we had just come from.Food wasn't great.Peas very hard...mixed grill small but helped the higher at least.No allergies given or to be seen.Bar lady had no idea about possible allergic food.nevermind.

Sunday roasts were lush, took some time coming out but it was super busy and was informed of this when we ordered, the gent who brought us our food apologised for the wait even though it came out quicker then we were told!

The room was absolutely fine but old building so it was cold when we went but the heating was working wonderfully. We did have an interesting visit from some keen ladybirds 😂 Not sure how they got in as we kept the window closed. The bar had a great selection of alcohol free drinks and the staff were really lovely. As were the receptionists both at check in and check out.

In the summer this pub is brilliant for a day time pub, the outdoor area is really spacious, nice seating, there's is choices of shade or in the sun and dogs are allowed in it. My one gripe is the bar is a bit too small when the downstairs isn't open for how large the outdoor section is. The staff try their best, but the amount of people when it's busy is just more than that bar can comfortably serve at a decent pace.

We had a drink in the bar and ate some reasonable (but nothing special) macaroni cheese. The service was friendly and the room seating was okay.

I hired the bottom room of Channings for my birthday last night and had an absolutely fantastic time. It was free to hire and the bar staff were incredible, so nice and very relaxed even when we were probably getting a bit rowdy! The music was the right vibe and I hosted a quiz and the staff helped me set it up and everything ran really smoothly. The location is great and the drinks are reasonably priced for Bristol. We will definitely be back!

Came here for a drink and a bite to eat and was served by Millie. She was absoultely amazing, made sure we were taken care of and her energy and positive attitude was a bonus😍 Hats off to Millie! Will be coming back. 😄
