Amazing place and staff! They go above and beyond for you here... Plus the food was delicious, highly recommend their burgers.

I used the website to send a message regarding a recent visit, and I was thrilled with the prompt response I received from the General Manager Emma.

Attending The Hippodrome for a show at 2.30. Booked a table for 12.45 and was told to sit anywhere as they were not busy. Ordered food at 12.56 and was told at 1.10 there was an hour wait for food. At 2.15 still no food and had to cancel the order which meant we had nothing to eat until after the show which was not ideal as one member of the party is diabetic. Staff could not apologise enough but it was not their fault. Have two more shows there next year but will NOT use this pub for food.

I recently visited The Drawbridge and had a lovely evening after a show. The welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The staff were exceptional – friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about making sure we had a great time. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations for both drinks and food. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming, making it a perfect spot for both a casual catch-up with friends or a stop off after the theater. If you’re in the area and looking for a pub with great food, excellent drinks, and top-notch service, I highly recommend giving this place a visit.

Food was lovely, burger was fresh, hot and juicy and the chips were piping hot. Service was awful, I didn't get asked how my food was and it was as much as the waiter could do to smile when he cleared my plate! Shame as I used to come a lot before a show..... :(

Good place to have a drink on a weekend.

Unfortunately I was really disappointed with the customer service received at this pub. We received a pint which was clearly off by colour and taste so my friend asked if it would be possible to replace it, to which the bar staff were extremely rude and completely dismissed the idea it could taste off. They tried a NEW pint of it after having changed the barrel and said it tasted fine so wouldnt give her a new one. She then had to buy another different drink so wasted the cost of the first one and we left that first one at the bar. I’m not sure in what world she would benefit from making it up as she loses money. But not only was I shocked at the fact they wouldn’t replace it, the worst bit was how rude they were about it. A different friend of mine arrived a bit later and went to order and again, tried to chat to the bar staff but got a really blunt, rude response. Simple customer service that shouldn’t be difficult to get right. We were there 28th august 2024

Bit pricey but very interesting place if never been before

An absolutely welcome break after a lengthy drive and dropping my daughter off at the hippodrome. Relaxing yet vibrant atmosphere,friendly and attentive staff and an absolutely banging latte . I will definitely come here again ... The food smelt and looked delicious so I will most certainly be staying for food next time .

Let me start by saying I am NOT a pub person. However, the staff were very friendly, the atmosphere laid back and the food good and reasonably priced. I enjoyed it!

Went for the bottomless brunch and it didn't disappoint! Wonderful atmosphere with great music. Ceriann was a perfect host who added some great variety to the brunch with games and prizes! Will definitely go again.

My friend and I usually come here for drinks once in a while, and we'll be sticking to just drinks. Nice pub with a calm atmosphere most of the time, but the food is awful for the price. My friend had the "flat iron steak" which he described as "Just a beef strip cut into chunks" and as you can see from the pictures, Not worth nearly £15! My karaage chicken was nice, though lukewarm. As for the salad? Just a massive handful of rocket with cucumber and a few rogue chunks of pepper, I gave it to my friend instead. It was shocking. We won't be getting food again. Drinks and service from staff is completely fine though.

They never have anything in stock

I came here wanting a steak sandwich for the 4th time and they still don’t have it in stock! Everytime I come here they never have steak! I then asked for the cod sandiwch in which he replied he only had 1 sandwich in stock all together. And said I can have hallomi wrap as an alternative!!!?? For desert I wanted the strawberries from kids menu, again for the 4th time they don’t have it in stock!!! What is going on???!!!! I’m disappointed.

Came in after work which is my habit and tried something new for me on the menu. As always when Lawrence and Leanne are in the kitchen the food was delicious. Ant and as always were a pleasure friendly and and always quick with banter Aimerlie and new member of staff Ellie and Tom where both very friendly

Decent pub but it was a shame they had no real ales available on our last visit.

This place is a little more expensive than weatherspoons but for a few quid extra the quality is 200 times better.. Great service. Great food. Good location.

Sat outside to watch a euros game, and they had a large TV screen outside,although the sound decided to die early on in the game. The food is standard pub food and was pretty decent although the fish was definitely on the colder side. You can also get a free drink on the GK App.

Came here twice for a pre theatre meal whilst Hamilton was playing next door in the hippodrome. Amazing 5* each and every time, what an experience! Go see it if you haven't. Oh yeah right, this review is for the pub. Yeah naff. First time we ordered table service at half 6 for 2 drinks and a bowl of nachos. They turned up at quarter past 7. I'd like to thank the drawbridge for teaching me how to inhale food, it's a skill I'd never had before so 5 stars for that. Second time the food and drink turned up quickly. The 2 onion rings, 3 tomatoes and 12 chips were wonderful. Really made me appreciate that that we all take for granted so thanks again 5 stars. Almost a pound a chip, incredible value. Finally the toilets, wow what an experience. I now know exactly where to go if I want a little nose candy to help me enjoy the show even more. Enjoy if if you never have, it's worth every penny and couldn't recommend any more. Mid stalls are the best seats.... Spoons is 2 mins down the road, they may even throw in a 3rd onion ring. Game changer

Went in for lunch. Ordered fish and chips for £12.95. Was told service might be slow as there was an engineer in the kitchen. No biggie assumed food would be nice and fresh. But … Chips were stone cold and hard. The piece of fish was warm but covered in oil and sitting in a pool of water. My guess, fry oil was too cold. Wouldn’t recommend

Came here for a quick pint before our walk of the harborside. Standard Greene king fare. Asked for real ales and they had a couple that were quaffable! Then went to recommend there sister site down the road that specializes on it. Thanks for the tip folks!

The pub has lovely interior and seems like it does the job, however I was disappointed that the pool cues were broken and cello-taped back together, and also just incredibly flimsy and impossible to use. I wanted to have a nice relaxing game of pool but instead the pool cues drove me up the wall. An investment in a new pair would do wonders! I ordered two diet cokes and they were perfect – no fault there.

nipped in for a pint while me and my son were waiting for the bus home, i had a lovely Guinness and my son had a ale,the staff are super friendly and the place was welcoming but busy, a must when in town shopping or banking ,the menu looked good but we had already eaten

Decent pub. Big. Good astethics. Good atmosphere. Tidy. Okay drinks. Greene King. Pool table and live sports (if I remember correctly). Quality of the drinks not as good as better pubs in town. Prices are competitive but not worth the quality. Staff friendly and no issues. Decent range of drinks. Disappointed with the quality of the taste of the Estrella even though the pour looked amazing. Worth a stop for 1 quick or cheap pint. Can't make judgement on the food.

A pub, right in the middle of Bristol, next door to the Bristol Hippodrome. We stopped here for an early evening drink before going in to watch a show. It wasn't to busy, and we were served pretty quickly; although they seemed to be having issues with one of the pumps. My pint was more head than beer, and it took several attempts before it looked OK. The pub is on the ground floor, so those with mobility issues should have no problem; although it should be noted that many of the seats & tables are higher than normal. There is a pool table, and several people were playing when we visited. It seems popular. We chose to take our drinks outside, and sit at one of the many tables on the pavement. It's not too close to the road, so you can have a conversation without being totally drowned out by the noise of the vehicles. Overall not bad; but a little more expensive than we are used to. We didn't eat on this occasion, but I understand from talking to a couple near us that the food is very enjoyable.

Georgina was a legend. Super friendly, chatty, funny. Food was well above the standard expected for the price! Big up Georgina!

They food was amazing and presented well and was very reasonable priced also the drinks selection was huge! Can’t fault it got served very quickly and the app was super easy to install and navigate.

Went in on Saturday after work which I do on a regular basis. The two new members of staff were very nice and friendly. Annie was very quick with a smile and a friendly word. Georgina was as always friendly. Lawrence the kitchen manager always has time for a wave and a smile no matter how busy. Whole team deserves a mark of 12 out of 10

I have been a drinker at the drawbridge since the 80s so it disappoints me to write this review The men’s toilets were a disgrace they smelt and there was no soap in the dispenser Management should hang their heads in shame utter disgrace

Good place for a beer, food and to watch sports

Affordable prices, central location, kind staff. The atmosphere is unremarkable, just your generic sports pub. But does the job

The Fish and Chips was excelent, the chips crispy, fresh and hot. The fish The same. Extraordinary sweet potato fries and the Sticky Toffee pudding delicious, I am very satisfied to got all these great food for that little cost.

Came in for a bite and a few drinks, food was lovely, drinks went down a treat, top notch service from Kayleigh and Archie, lovely pub in the center of town, secured a repeat customer in me.

Spent fifteen minutes at the bar. Didn’t get served. Walked out. Given it’s in the city centre and probably benefits from the shows at the hippodrome next door (which is why we chose it) you’d think they would put on sufficient staff.

Popped in for a last minute evening meal with family and was extremely happy with our choice! We were greeted by the lovely Kayleigh who attended to us during our visit. Lovely food & amazing service. Thank you! We will be back again!!! X

So we came out from seeing a showcat 10.45 on a Tuesday night and thought we would come in here for a drink, we were told by the bar maid they were closing in 3 minutes so we ordered a drink and was told we had 10 minutes to drink it!! 10 minutes, I’m sure drinking up time is 20 mins!! Why on earth do you close at 11 when the hippodrome and other shows are ending and people want an extra drink, I seen at least 25 people come in and be turned away. I would have thought all pubs would be glad of the custom, but obviously not.

Ordered chicken wings took over 45 mins to arrive could only eat a few of them as they were to tough and dry..told the waitress she just took them away no apology or any other comments.

Thought we'd have a meal in the pub next door to the theatre before we went to watch the show ? Service was terrible didn't have half the stuff on the menu we orderd bbq chicken everything tasted salty and the chicken in a bowl was over microwaved ?? The drinks were expensive £3.50 for a coke all In all go somewhere else if you want a decent meal and service with a smile Could do with getting a new bar person to attitude stinks 🤬🤬

Came here for a Sunday roast and there was an issue with printing of the order, had to wait a little while but Kes came to our rescue compensating us with drink whilst she got our order out as well as other niceties - excellent service, lovely staff, food was great and will definitely come back

Went to play pool and have some beers and ciders with friends. The beer was nice. We had fun playing pool and was not that expensive, and not too busy also.

Had fantastic time at the drawbridge. Staff were very pleasant and friendly, good food and really good service overall. Highly recommend if you are visiting Bristol.

What an unfortunately bad experience that was! We went in on a Saturday evening. The place looked like it just had a train crossing through. All empty tables were dirty and full of plates and glasses. We had to use the also dirty food menus to cover the table. Went to order at the bar. Ordered a cider, a small beer shandy and another beer. Barman asked which beer, we asked for Abbot. (Sorry. That one's out) Old speckled hen then. (Sorry. That's out too. We only have GK IPA on.) Fine. IPA then. We paid and he started getting the drinks. Halfway through the small shandy, the IPA went out too, so we had to choose a lager. Then I had to get a refund for the 1,5 drinks and pay a higher amount for the price difference, as the lager is more expensive. Obviously the bank takes the money straight away but sits on the money before they process the refund, but that's a minor nuisance. After this we got the shandy but as the barman started pouring the pint, the lager went out as well. At this point he said he will go down to change the barrel. 😂 The whole situation was just comical at that point so we never dared to ask if they could change the Abbot as well while there, cause that would have been our original preference. Not to mention asking for a cloth so we could wipe the table. During our stay we've seen -clearly- a customer collecting the plates from the table he was to sit down at. It was quite a bit of a chaos for a Saturday evening, in a prime location of Bristol.

What a wonderful place to visit! Super friendly staff and a beautifully decorated pub! Wide range of ales available and nothing was too much trouble! Me and my friends had the best night on Saturday celebrating my 30th birthday! The staff were so accommodating and helpful, they decorated the pub brilliantly and made sure I had the best birthday ever! Thank you so much

Visited with friends this weekend, popular pub for a good reason. Great service as always. Well worth a visit with family or friends.

We came to celebrate a 30th birthday and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was good, drinks were well priced and we got served within a good time. The pub seemed very clean and the staff were really lovely. We didn’t have chance to eat the food but what we did see looked really tasty.

Worst Green King I have been to. Freezing cold pub, door left proped open. Customers sat with coats on. Did close the door. Staff opened back up. Food we ordered went cold in minutes. Rude lady behind the bar. Booked a table. Reserved written on a few. Couldn't work out, which was ours. No names on the reserved boards. Waited over 10 minutes to get a member of staff to help. Definitely one Green King that I would not go back to, nor recommend!!

No reason to give anything else than 5 stars: the food was perfect (we ordered a steak pie, a burger, a selection of VG dishes and a couple of sides), including small details such as the gravy, or the mushy peas. The service was polite and pleasant, patient (we’re French and the waitress was very helpful with my son when he ordered). We were comfortably seated and had a peaceful corner to enjoy all that lovely food. We’d definitely recommend.

Went here before watching a show, really lovely pub with lovely decor for the Christmas season. Was quite busy and there only seemed to be three members of staff on so I can imagine its pretty hard to serve quickly but nether less still really lovely food and student discount really came through with my whole families meal.

Ordered the turkey dinner. It was awful. Freezing cold and definitely not worth the price we paid. There are loads of other bars/restaurants to choose from close by, I'd pick one of them if I were you. Will never go there again.

Booked a table for a meal and drinks a couple of weeks back. It was a bit busy when we arrived and it took a while to find a staff to show us our table. There seemed to have been a mix-up and our reservation couldn't be found. However, the staff was able to fix it in no time. Friendly and professional staff. Generous food portions. We loved the sharing plates. I ordered the BBQ chicken. Although a little bit on the dry side, it was still very flavourful. Good drinks selection. I loved the old photos of and sketches on the wall and the trivia that the front of the pub used to be part of the river a long time ago. Overall a good experience.

Handy pub for the Hippodrome service is hit or miss depending on the staff . Food was edible but that’s it.

The only reason you would pop in is for convenience. Expensive but that's expected for city centre. Only really wanted to use the bathroom, but all 3 male cubicles didn't have a lock on, luckily I'm not shy and didn't mind someone swinging the door open mid poo. It's a Monday evening. Maybe the graffiti in the second cubicle implies this is an issue for a while.... For a brewery pub, this should be embarrassing. Clearly not... Waiting to post photos if I can...

Always a friendly welcome from the staff here. Very tidy and stylish venue. Perfect not only if seeing a show next door at the Bristol hippodrome but very close to the waterfront too
