Had a lovely day at the Drawbridge today. We are in Bristol for the horse racing at Cheltenham and popped in here on the off chance after driving up from Sussex. What a cracking place. Food was lovely (both had steak and ale pie), service was impeccable and Emma the Governor was a delight. Couldn’t fault it and well worth a visit whether it’s for a quick bite or a day session, like we had. We’ll back for dinner after the racing tomorrow. Thank you for your hospitality. Stew and Bryan

Great bar staff as we could have a soft drink and eat unlike the oldest pub in Bristol who chuck an adult with a 15 and 16 year old out saying we weren't aloud to eat so thankyou Green king Drawbridge

Asumimos nuestra mesa con un cartel que decía reservado para el tiempo que habíamos pedido, una pena que estuviera cubierto con vasos sucios, así que nos sentamos en la mesa de al lado. De todos modos el personal es muy amable, una pena que nunca tuvieron ningún pastel en stock (el pastel fue recomendado). La comida es adecuada el servicio amable el pub está ocupado y bien situado al teatro. He preguntado a los otros tres y no creo que volvamos.

Lovely service and nice atmosphere, but the cleanliness needs a bit more attention. Toilets (male) had an awful smell that you could feel before entering. I can't say that I would visit again.

We went on a Saturday and everything and it said that the kitchen closed at 8:30 p.m. because the application at 8:07 p.m. already said that they did not serve food. We went to the bar and the waiters very reluctantly told us that they were very sorry but that it couldn't be...

It's not a restaurant. It's by the Delaware River. There's an old drawbridge that you can see the Delaware River with ice. Very lovely and peaceful sight.

The staff was amazing by handling the business at the bar and around them, they were on point the entire time I was there with my family, food was amazing, service was really good, music was loud but had a good boogie in my chair, ha. Keep up the good work guys ! Happy new year

Emma, what a life saver! I came to the pub to meet my friends it was the start of the night, my brand new dress the zip had bust. I would have had to have gone home, but Emma had used the bathroom and first kindly offered me safety pins. She then came back with 3 dresses and said I could pick one to have. It was the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me and I had an amazing night out. Thank you so much!

My partner was going with their niece to hippodrome so we sropped in here for a bite before hand. My first time and I informed the staff I was having a difficult time during to overstimuation (ASD) and they were extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic and i will. E coming again. Thank you Anthony and crew for a wonderful first time experience.

Had a drink before we went to The Wonderstuff Gig. It was busy, bouncers were courteous and polite going in, I chatted to the female bouncer who was very nice. Drinks were easily ordered and all staff were nice. There were lots of dirty tables but it was very busy, that’s the only downside

Amending my last review, we came in Sunday before a show, the staff open half hour earlier so customers can eat and not miss the start. We had the staek sandwiches and a couple of side with rocket salad and it was delicious. The interior was Christmassy and cosy We had a much better experience and will definitely come again 🤩

Went in, popped to the loo, bar man too busy talking to his friends, rang the bell. I said to him he randomly it after we were waiting for drinks as. He said, yeah, I rang the bell late.

After a horrible experience at the Christmas Steps, we wandered down the road to the Drawbridge. Wow, what a difference ! Lovely friendly staff that really seemed to like working there, great choice of drinks at reasonable prices and a good atmosphere. Will return when next in Bristol.

Super welcoming pub, lovely staff, and fantastic food! As an Autistic person, I struggle to find pubs that I feel comfortable and safe in, and this place is one I feel very much safe and comfortable in. The staff have always been so kind and understanding to myself, and to others I know who are also on the spectrum. I have made visiting there a part of my weekly routine, and I look forward to going there every Thursday evening.

Amazing place to drop in for some food and a catch up with friends. Staff are welcoming and friendly, place is clean and food is fantastic with plenty of options for different dietary needs. Everyone is welcome, even dogs. Can not recommend enough

Poor. Arrived 12.45 and they had no record of our booking. Staff said they were not busy and so we could sit anywhere. Food ordered at 1pm, cancelled order at 2.15pm when it still hadn't arrived! Full refund was issued. Ruined what was supposed to be a nice lunch before a 2.30 show at the Hippodrome next door. Ended up with Greggs sausage roll!! Second time this has happened. Gave them the benefit of trying a second time but will not be giving a third. Very disappointing.

Pedí comida a las 12. 56 y se le dijo a la 1 . 10 Hubo una hora de espera para comer. A las 2. 15 todavía no había comida y tuvo que cancelar la orden, lo que significa que no teníamos nada que comer hasta después del espectáculo, que no era ideal ya que un miembro del partido es diabético. El personal no pudo disculparse lo suficiente, pero no fue su culpa. Tendrán dos shows más el próximo año, pero NO usarán este pub para comer.

I recently visited The Drawbridge and had a lovely evening after a show. The welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The staff were exceptional – friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about making sure we had a great time. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations for both drinks and food. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming, making it a perfect spot for both a casual catch-up with friends or a stop off after the theater. If you’re in the area and looking for a pub with great food, excellent drinks, and top-notch service, I highly recommend giving this place a visit.

Food was lovely, burger was fresh, hot and juicy and the chips were piping hot. Service was awful, I didn't get asked how my food was and it was as much as the waiter could do to smile when he cleared my plate! Shame as I used to come a lot before a show..... :(

Good place to have a drink on a weekend.

Unfortunately I was really disappointed with the customer service received at this pub. We received a pint which was clearly off by colour and taste so my friend asked if it would be possible to replace it, to which the bar staff were extremely rude and completely dismissed the idea it could taste off. They tried a NEW pint of it after having changed the barrel and said it tasted fine so wouldnt give her a new one. She then had to buy another different drink so wasted the cost of the first one and we left that first one at the bar. I’m not sure in what world she would benefit from making it up as she loses money. But not only was I shocked at the fact they wouldn’t replace it, the worst bit was how rude they were about it. A different friend of mine arrived a bit later and went to order and again, tried to chat to the bar staff but got a really blunt, rude response. Simple customer service that shouldn’t be difficult to get right. We were there 28th august 2024

An absolutely welcome break after a lengthy drive and dropping my daughter off at the hippodrome. Relaxing yet vibrant atmosphere,friendly and attentive staff and an absolutely banging latte . I will definitely come here again ... The food smelt and looked delicious so I will most certainly be staying for food next time .

Bit pricey but very interesting place if never been before

Went for the bottomless brunch and it didn't disappoint! Wonderful atmosphere with great music. Ceriann was a perfect host who added some great variety to the brunch with games and prizes! Will definitely go again.

My friend and I usually come here for drinks once in a while, and we'll be sticking to just drinks. Nice pub with a calm atmosphere most of the time, but the food is awful for the price. My friend had the "flat iron steak" which he described as "Just a beef strip cut into chunks" and as you can see from the pictures, Not worth nearly £15! My karaage chicken was nice, though lukewarm. As for the salad? Just a massive handful of rocket with cucumber and a few rogue chunks of pepper, I gave it to my friend instead. It was shocking. We won't be getting food again. Drinks and service from staff is completely fine though.

I came here wanting a steak sandwich for the 4th time and they still don’t have it in stock! Everytime I come here they never have steak! I then asked for the cod sandiwch in which he replied he only had 1 sandwich in stock all together. And said I can have hallomi wrap as an alternative!!!?? For desert I wanted the strawberries from kids menu, again for the 4th time they don’t have it in stock!!! What is going on???!!!! I’m disappointed.

Ant and as always were a pleasure friendly and and always quick with banter Aimerlie and new member of staff Ellie and Tom where both very friendly

This place is a little more expensive than weatherspoons but for a few quid extra the quality is 200 times better.. Great service. Great food. Good location.

Sat outside to watch a euros game, and they had a large TV screen outside,although the sound decided to die early on in the game. The food is standard pub food and was pretty decent although the fish was definitely on the colder side. You can also get a free drink on the GK App.

Came here twice for a pre theatre meal whilst Hamilton was playing next door in the hippodrome. Amazing 5* each and every time, what an experience! Go see it if you haven't. Oh yeah right, this review is for the pub. Yeah naff. First time we ordered table service at half 6 for 2 drinks and a bowl of nachos. They turned up at quarter past 7. I'd like to thank the drawbridge for teaching me how to inhale food, it's a skill I'd never had before so 5 stars for that. Second time the food and drink turned up quickly. The 2 onion rings, 3 tomatoes and 12 chips were wonderful. Really made me appreciate that that we all take for granted so thanks again 5 stars. Almost a pound a chip, incredible value. Finally the toilets, wow what an experience. I now know exactly where to go if I want a little nose candy to help me enjoy the show even more. Enjoy if if you never have, it's worth every penny and couldn't recommend any more. Mid stalls are the best seats.... Spoons is 2 mins down the road, they may even throw in a 3rd onion ring. Game changer

Went in for lunch. Ordered fish and chips for £12.95. Was told service might be slow as there was an engineer in the kitchen. No biggie assumed food would be nice and fresh. But … Chips were stone cold and hard. The piece of fish was warm but covered in oil and sitting in a pool of water. My guess, fry oil was too cold. Wouldn’t recommend

Came here for a quick pint before our walk of the harborside. Standard Greene king fare. Asked for real ales and they had a couple that were quaffable! Then went to recommend there sister site down the road that specializes on it. Thanks for the tip folks!

The pub has lovely interior and seems like it does the job, however I was disappointed that the pool cues were broken and cello-taped back together, and also just incredibly flimsy and impossible to use. I wanted to have a nice relaxing game of pool but instead the pool cues drove me up the wall. An investment in a new pair would do wonders! I ordered two diet cokes and they were perfect – no fault there.

Decent pub. Big. Good astethics. Good atmosphere. Tidy. Okay drinks. Greene King. Pool table and live sports (if I remember correctly). Quality of the drinks not as good as better pubs in town. Prices are competitive but not worth the quality. Staff friendly and no issues. Decent range of drinks. Disappointed with the quality of the taste of the Estrella even though the pour looked amazing. Worth a stop for 1 quick or cheap pint. Can't make judgement on the food.

A pub, right in the middle of Bristol, next door to the Bristol Hippodrome. We stopped here for an early evening drink before going in to watch a show. It wasn't to busy, and we were served pretty quickly; although they seemed to be having issues with one of the pumps. My pint was more head than beer, and it took several attempts before it looked OK. The pub is on the ground floor, so those with mobility issues should have no problem; although it should be noted that many of the seats & tables are higher than normal. There is a pool table, and several people were playing when we visited. It seems popular. We chose to take our drinks outside, and sit at one of the many tables on the pavement. It's not too close to the road, so you can have a conversation without being totally drowned out by the noise of the vehicles. Overall not bad; but a little more expensive than we are used to. We didn't eat on this occasion, but I understand from talking to a couple near us that the food is very enjoyable.

Went in on Saturday after work which I do on a regular basis. The two new members of staff were very nice and friendly. Annie was very quick with a smile and a friendly word. Georgina was as always friendly. Lawrence the kitchen manager always has time for a wave and a smile no matter how busy. Whole team deserves a mark of 12 out of 10

I have been a drinker at the drawbridge since the 80s so it disappoints me to write this review The men’s toilets were a disgrace they smelt and there was no soap in the dispenser Management should hang their heads in shame utter disgrace

The Fish and Chips was excelent, the chips crispy, fresh and hot. The fish The same. Extraordinary sweet potato fries and the Sticky Toffee pudding delicious, I am very satisfied to got all these great food for that little cost.
