Lovely coffee with brill prices! 🤞🏼 We had two chai lattes and a nutella brownie. Was super tasty and such a reasonable price! Lovely people 🥰

Location excellent, ambience OK, coffee fine. However my avocado and egg brunch was easily the least appealing and sophisticated I’ve ever had.

Hmmm. I think someone needs to revive this cafe. How is this showing as an average of 4/5 stars!?? Popped in for breakfast and it was really uninspiring. I will say that the coffee wasn’t bad. But the food was quite disappointing. “Smashed Avocado on toast with garlic mushrooms” sounded nice but was basically very thinly spread guacamole on very cheap toast with (not garlicky at all) mushrooms and an overpowering mass of dried chilli flakes. Bacon brioche was ok, the brioche itself being a highlight, but undercooked bacon leaves you chewing on elastic bands of bacon fat. Service was ok but the staff just seem to be going through the motions. Sadly, with so much wonderful choice in the area, we won’t be returning.

Terrible café. Americano was definitely instant coffee and not sure what milk but tasted weird. Staff were sullen. The food prep area looked filthy and not at all hygienic. Food not sourced well, tasted like it was from farm foods range. Visit bathroom at your own risk!! Dirty, dryer broken, no hand towels

Small place, limited menu, but oh so good. We had breakfast there , tried the vegetarian one, it was just the best English breakfast I’ve had so far. And the hot chocolate omg, best ever . Sitting outside on a sunny morning or inside of it rains, it’s comfortable either way. 100% recommended

perfect for small lunch/breakfast! relativly cheap and delicious. Can recommend the chicken sandwich with avocade and the quesadilla! (Cajun chicken)

The coffee and bacon brioche are delicious, and the cafe has a great atmosphere! The coffees are all under £3, so they're also very affordable!

Food was terrible. For £9.50 my toast was burnt and soggy, egg was a mess, smashed avocado tasted like it was out of a packet.

Food was okay for a quick stop for lunch. We visited around 3pm and they were open until 5pm. They had already closed the snug area upstairs so we couldn't sit in there. The staff were nice but all seemed really young and were messing around a little/shouting and talking very loudly up and down the stairs having conversations. It felt a little unwelcoming as it felt as though they were typing to close everything whilst we were there, eventhough they were open for another 2 hours. We were not the only ones in the cafe either

*AVOID* Filthy, oldest Cafe in Bristol and hasn't been cleaned since. Everything was cold except the tea and coffee. Hair in the egg , the bacon still had legs , the sausages were like rubber. The Nutella was nice. The toilets were disgusting. Avoid like the plague as you may catch the plague there.

Was going to have a cake but couldn’t read the name of it through the mucky glass cabinet . Dirty inside and out . Put me off . The cappuccino was too milky and made in a cup that was too big

Tenner for a Full English on a tiny plate, No hash brown or even beans. Bacon barely cooked. Forget it.

Ordered smashed avocado on toast with bacon .... Got guacamole from a pot on brown bread with a ton of chilli flakes on it. They were surprised when we returned it and requested a refund.

Well, quite a nice place for breakfast in the center of Bristol. On a warm day there are tables outside, so it's worth using, but it's also worth going inside and seeing the place itself - it's very nice. The breakfast burger was tasty, the coffee was quite okay too. It wasn't any outstanding food, but it was tasty.

We just had coffee and sat outside in gorgeous weather. The coffee was really superb and service was quick and efficient. We got there at about 9.15 just before the market opened.

Absolutely lovely cafe in Bristol! So so so happy me and my partner came here on our day trip to Bristol! Amazing atmosphere and food! Would recommend this lovely place to anyone 💗

Café revival is supposed to be the oldest coffee shop in Bristol. In the centre of the old city.

What a shame that a building with such history is so unloved now. The breakfast and coffee was adequate but had we used the bathroom before ordering we wouldn’t have even considered eating there! I’ve never seen such a grim, disgustingly dirty area. If they can’t even clean the toilet for days, then I dread to think what the kitchen was like.

Wish we had read the reviews, the cleanliness of this place is shocking, how it is still open!!!! Breakfast was cold and overcooked, on seeing the cleanliness of the place or should I say lack of we decided it was best not to eat the breakfast served. Lovely building and location, unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing. The eggs were over done so the white was like plastic . The. Coffees were forgotten about , then they came luke warm and one of them was just warm milk. It seemed like a place that will always have passing trade and therefore complacency has set in.

Absolutely terrible. The rubber-like pancakes under a non-descript syrup will be hard to forget.

Nice little cafe, but they do not serve smoothies anymore so I wish they would take it off their sign as it's why I came into the place.

Despite some of the negative reviews, we decided to call in for a coffee and am glad we did. Can't comment on the food but the latte was excellent.

So glad we couldn't get into The Cosy Club this morning. Found this gem instead, coffee was the best we'd tasted all weekend, and the pancakes, bacon and maple syrup were scrummy.

Went there for the first time for lunch today - food was amazing, had the veggie quesadillas which were utterly delicious. Toilets defo need attention however, just FYI.

Not bad by any means, but not great either. The place really needs a good clean and some money spending on it. I had the almost full breakfast. It wasn't bad, but the sausages were of poor quality. I would happily pay a bit more for better quality.

Food is excellent and decently priced. It could all be a bit cleaner. The bacon is on the floor.

Avoid at all costs!!! Unless you want a child-size plated breakfast that is freezing cold. The entire cafe was dingy, lights were not working and tables did not seem cleaned. Several tables around us had been left with plates from previous customers and did not get cleared even though two staff members came upstairs and walked past it, they proceeded to leave it there and go back downstairs. The food itself was disgusting, and did not taste cooked remotely. Save yourself the traumatic experience and go somewhere else!! PS if I could have given 0 states, I would have. Worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had in my life, £9.50 for the breakfast described as above - thankfully the manager knew his food was terrible and did not hesitate to refund me on request as he clearly knew it was shockingly vile. The £9.50 will be going towards therapy to recover from such a traumatising experience with food!!!!!!!!

The place was fridgidly cold, and we kept our coats on for the whole meal, and so did the staff. The coffee was served quickly but one was cold, and needed sending back. The meal was okay and basic.

Nice “oldest coffee house” in Bristol. It’s located in central Bristol close to the vibrant (on weekdays) market- that is a definitive recommendation in itself. It was quite busy when I visited. - coffee was great 👍🏻 - vegetarian breakfast was rather small (one egg, tiny avocado) & disappointing (veg sausages should be a protein replacement- not a potato roll!!) Had to wait ~45min for my order to arrive - but received a free coffee for that( they forgot my order I guess)z Room for improvement imho - especially for these prices.

Absolutely love this breakfast spot! The Cajun chicken quesadillas are a must-try and the matcha is also fantastic!

Lovely almost full English and vegetarian breakfast. Loved the idea of avocado instead of bacon! Great old city location. Not a chain. Nice independent establishment.

Friendly staff but otherwise a bit grim. The upstairs was closed for building work (fair enough) hence the sense of sitting in a cupboard but I also wonder if this had a wider effect on our experience (is there a larger kitchen upstairs which wasn’t available when we visited?). I had the ‘almost full English’ which was tasteless and bland - the sausages were evidently the cheapest to be found. I appreciate cost pressures are considerable nowadays but it’s a downward spiral if the quality is so low. We deliberately chose an independent cafe rather than a chain in an effort to support these businesses but at least with a chain you know what you’re going to get. Disappointing but maybe it was an outlier experience compared with what’s more typical.

This is not the place it was. Today I found it sticky, grubby and unkempt. There were cardboard boxes lying around, and the toilets were dirty and had not been cleaned recently. I had to chivvy the batrista for our coffees when they did not appear after 10 minutes. Great location but needs serious TLC.

Allegedly Bristol's oldest coffee shop. Adjacent to St Nick's Market. Rambling establishment on several floors. Excellent latte and cheese toastie with red onion.

Had the almost full English breakfast. Completely freezing cold. Sausages looked like a decent very could bring them back to life. The best bit of it was the tinned mushrooms. Coffee was good.

The awards on the wall from 2017 and before seem to be from the era when someone cared about this place. Ordered a flat white, waited ten minutes only for a latte to be handed over. No pleasantries or manners, just brusque and bad service. Some guy was after sweetener and the staff simply couldn't find it for some reason. A lack of care all round. Felt like they'd given up somewhat. How people can say this is the best coffee place in Bristol is astonishing to me. Overpriced and utterly mediocre.

An oasis in the bustling Market area. 3 floors (up stairs) of seating. Perfect meeting place. Friendly staff. Tasty food. I had pancakes, which were delicious. Friend had a burger which went down well. Highly recommended

The cafe has a nice feel, especially if you want to hide away somewhere quiet and work or study. It has a snug room at the top that is cozy and quiet. The food is good value but the service was a little slow and forgetful.

Really lovely breakfast with a super nice atmosphere outside on a sunny day. The staff were welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. One thing to mention is keep an eye out for seagulls if sitting outside 😂!

Lovely little cafe by St Nicholas markets, Bristol. Hubby had a cooked breakfast, I had buttermilk pancakes with nutella, both hot and delicious. Bacon was too overcooked for hubby, but I love it crispy so pinched a piece!

Love it here. Tasty toastie with fresh orange juice. Nice view, opposite the registry office. Good value for money.

Perfectly edible, but way overpriced. Waffles and pancakes from a packet, mushrooms from a tin, overdone egg on slightly warmed supermarket sliced bread with margarine! Nearly £3 for tetley tea. Nice seating area though and polite staff.

Really good coffee and great location in the old town.

Coffee was good but a long wait for the bacon sandwich took forever, coffee was cold by time the food arrived. Tight stairs to get to the upper floor where seating is provided so if you have any trouble with mobility best avoid this place. The breakfast that other people had looked pretty good but I found mine to be under par. The cafe appears grubby and there is dust settled on surfaces, the sauce bottle wasn't clean either. Toilets appeared dirty and the soap seemed watered down. I wasn't keen on putting a tip on the bill before I was even served, it was on the payment system before the transaction could be completed. Overall a disappointment and I will not return or recommend here.

No idea what the issue was but we didn't get served at the tables, waited for 15 minutes. Nothing. So left.. Meant to be good but no real idea what to make of it.

Can’t stress enough how nice the bacon king was. Had to walk around CC for 1 mile before finding a traditional cafe. (No stars for atmosphere as I didn’t eat in)

Have to say it's a while since I last visited this cafe. I was disappointed. It's gone down hill. I used to meet a friend regularly and there was a lovely friendly atmostphere. Used to be a great little place to meet a friend for a coffee and/or breakfast. The first thing I noticed was how grubby it looked and felt. Supposedly renovated in 2020 but the general decor seems not to have been changed, is shabby and needs touching up. The stairs seem not to have seen a hoover in days, dirt and dust across the surface. The tables were all awry and needed clearing. When the table was eventually cleared it was wiped with a dry cloth not sprayed with Antibacterial. We had a coffee which was good but I wouldn't eat there it felt dirty. I felt embarassed I'd asked my friend to meet there. There has obviously been a change in management since last I was there (pre covid). Service was pitifully slow and the staff need serious training in customer relations. Not a smile between them. Needs vast improvement to bring it back up to standard. Won't be rushing back.

Gone seriously down hill. Like warm coffee and the worst porridge I’ve ever had - watery and tepid even after asking for them to put it back in to heat up. A real shame as this place used to be lovely

Nice cafe in a good location in the centre of Bristol.We had the English breakfasts.The food was fine however the bread and bacon were quite hard. Looked like they had been over cooked or kept warm too long. The sausages, tomatoes and eggs were great. What I did taste of the bacon was nice though. Plus they did have oat milk for our teas. Nice place for people watching though. Plus the staff were friendly.

Located at the top end of Corn Street, this is quite an inviting looking coffee shop, and apparently is Bristol’s oldest, dating from 1718. That said, if you’re expecting something very “olde worlde” with lots of wonky beams, you’re going to be disappointed. It’s obviously been redeveloped over the years, and glancing up at the ceiling, instead of wonky beams, all I could see were metal cable trays, which are presumably not an original feature. A cake counter to the left offered an array of slightly more unusual options, such as carrot and pistachio or ginger and pumpkin, so if you’re after a classic Victoria Sponge, perhaps look elsewhere. I was there for lunch though, and so opted for the Cajun chicken and smashed avocado sandwich with a brioche bun. This was pretty good on the whole, with very spicy chicken and avocado that seemed more pureed than smashed. An accompanying latte was also pretty good. Overall, nothing to get overly excited about, but a solid enough offering.

Staff is sweet, but the outside makes you expect something beautiful. Inside it is not that well kept unfortunately or doing its history justice.

Three of us popped in for brunch of fruit topped pancakes and waffles. Service and food was good for the price. Street level tables were wheelchair accessible - if you didn't mind sitting outside, otherwise you were up a fairly steep staircase

La comida estaba buena y la relación calidad precio también, el servicio un poco lento y pasa mucho tiempo entre que te traen las bebidas y la comida, por todo lo demás, bien

Fuimos a desayunar ayer, viernes Santo y es el único bar que decía que estaba abierto y que realmente lo estaba. Los bocatas no estaban mal, aunque tiene que gustarte el picante. El mío era con pan de brioche y llevaba aguacate y pollo cajún. Y el de mi acompañante, pan de sándwich integral, con queso y pollo. Si quieres venir a este lugar tiene que ser sin prisas y recomiendo que especifiquen que las bebidas se las traigan a la vez que los bocadillos. A nosotros nos trajeron los cafés 20 minutos antes que la comida y tuvimos que pedir que nos los calentaran. Es un lugar diferente, alejado de los desayunos ingleses, con un rollo me Los camareros no eran especialmente amables y la limpieza del local estaba bastante regular. Si eres una persona paciente, quieres huir de los desayunos típicos ingleses y te gusta la comida con toques mexicanos, puedes darte un salto a este bar.

Went on Easter Friday. The food took 20mins and when the toast arrived it was like luke warm bread. Asked for another toast and that took very long so asked fir a refund. They could sound some money on the up keep of the place.

Poor service, wrong order and waited over half an hour for food. To be quite honest, expected better quality of food which would have helped. Won't be coming back.

A great little cafe in the heart of the old town. The service is friendly and food good. The only reason I dropped a star is the lack of power points to use for working people. I often sit in with a coffe and snack whilst waiting to shoot a wedding at the register office opposite, and it would be nice to be able to work on my laptop from the mains. I hope this is something they'll consider providing. Otherwise a cool place with character

Went because they had a few vegan options. It isn't anything fancy, but they have a good menu selection and it is pretty cheap.
