What a gem. Top notch food at a reasonable price considering it's location, though even better, are the excellent, down to earth, friendly and helpful staff. We've introduced every man and his dog to this place, can't recommend enough as one of our Bristol Sunday roast favourites, have returned multiple times. Pork belly is excellent, nut roast occasionally a little dry but very tasty and made up for with lashings of bottomless gravy. Slight draw back, no Bristol beers on tap :-( . But the staff make up for it in friendliness.

Discovered this place by accident looking for a different pub to have Sunday Lunch. We were 2 adults and 2 Children aged 6 . Upon entering we found staff friendly and efficient. There was a small sofa with a few games on the table which is a lovely touch for Children. And the quirky decor a nice focus point. The menu is a bit over priced in my opinion for a pub think Roast was £18pp 25% discount for child portion. We both decided to share our plates with the children instead (and there is definitely enough to do this). Wasn't a lot of option Beef/Chicken/Nut roast V I think (Tbh price almost put us off but we were all very hungry so decided to stay) That being said the quality of the food was high standard (We both had Beef Roast) and veg is unlimited we were told so would be replenished on request (as initially a small boat of veg was brought to the table between us) The gravy was really tasty and sweet potato crisps that's served in the big Yorkshire were moorish. The Meat portion was good and cooked well. I would definitely dine here again as I really enjoyed my meal, it's not a budget family option but it's worth the money for the quality of food. And prob one of the best places I've had a Roast in a long time Pros: Good food, Efficient service, Clean, Friendly, quirky decor, games Cons: Limited Menu, Expensive

Super friendly staff, serving super amazing Sunday Roasts. The beef was great, but the pork was truly magnificent - tender, juicy and the crackling was to die for. Gravy and Yorkshire pudding were the best I've had in the UK, with the potatoes just so well made. 4 different sauces - Apple, mint, honey mustard and horseradish were all house-made and super rich. The starters were impressive too! Buffalo wing was spicer than I thought but absolutely bearable. Mac and Cheese bites is hard to go wrong, with extra cheese dip that has a unique seasoning. Had good drinks recommendations too, and offered to let me try a few while I decided.

My friend have an annual trip to Bristol & visited the coach and horses Bristol after reading many reviews on where to find a Sunday lunch. We booked online to avoid disappointment and we certainly were not disappointed. The Pub is very relaxed and comfortable and the food is absolutely amazing. It was Belly pork for both of us with extra cauliflower cheese followed by crème brûlée because we had to have a rest in between our courses and the sticky toffee pudding with custard had all gone 😩 We certainly will be visiting again, and the roast dinner was one of the best that we’ve ever had. The staff were absolutely lovely making you feel as though you’ve been there every week . An excellent example of a GREAT family run pub. Tucked away from the bustle of the traffic in Highland Square, the Coach & Horses has a great pub atmosphere whilst still being clean and having class. Taps are clean, drinks are fresh and fair priced for Bristol. Food is excellent. Other great things include: - Student deals. - Freshly home baked pastries. - Regular events almost every night of the week. - Games to play. On top of that the Coach & Horses have a history of supporting local football teams and communities and is known by a lot in the area as a great ‘proper’ pub.

So happy the Coach & Horses, recently refurbished and with new decor, is open again and serving food ! Had just the best experience last weekend! With time running out to book a table for my pescatarian Mum - been having little joy finding suitably tantalisingly sounding fish of the day options, all that changed when I called the Coach & Horses and spoke to the new General Manager, Sian. She asked for my number and said she’d call back after she’s spoken to her chef - he should have received his fresh fish for the day by then. Minutes later, Sian called back and read off a delicious sounding sea bass with caper and butter sauce, fresh veg…. I knew Mum would love it. Sold / booked! We arrived less than half an hour later and the unexpected bonus was what it was mild and sunny. We sat outside. It was lovely. Though March, I could feel the warm sun on my face. More than happy days!! Sian served us. Always smiling, always attentive. And the food… oh my word!! The kitchen and the chef! I went for the pork belly and panna cotta - tasted even better than the pics!! Sadly, didn’t get a pic of mother’s sea bass but I’ll be back soon, no doubt. I rarely post on TA, I know I’ll be posting another for this wonderful establishment very soon!

we have to give this place 5 stars for everything from the service of the lovely lady who greeted and served us, to the quality of the food and value for money. We had 1 vegan roast dinner and 1 veggie, the best I’ve had in the Bath/Bristol area. Everything was perfect - only comment I would make was due to the 1 roast being vegan, a number of items were taken off (cauli cheese & Yorkshire pud I believe) but nothing was subbed - perhaps an extra spoonful of red cabbage or an extra roast potato would of made the plate seem a little fuller? But honestly we’ll be back time & time again, and have already recommended the pub to numerous people in the Bristol area.

We needed to find a dog friendly place for lunch when visiting our son and came across the Coach and Horses. So glad we did!! The new owners are exceptional - very friendly front of house and top notch food. Calamari starters were tasty, not at all rubbery - lovely! We had beer battered fish and chips - beautifully presented, excellent home made tartare sauce, the lightest of beer batter on a fabulous chunky piece of fish. Chips were hand cut and hadn’t seen a freezer. My son’s steak was a sound piece of meat, perfectly cooked and good quality. Decor needs a refresh but this is on the owner’s agenda - but atmosphere good and food worthy of any fancy gastropub! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this pub and I wish the new owners every success with their venture. The Coach and Horses will definitely be our go-to whenever we are in Bristol.

The decor is not fancy and the facilities a bit dated, and some of the clientele were drunken louts, with small dogs running around under the tables. Would still go back for the food though.

It was lovely, one of the best Sunday lunches I have had in a long while. I will be back very soon. We had the beef and the pork both delicious . It recently had new owners and I wish them good luck!

Amazing food.Amaizing hospitality.Friendly atmosphere. A hidden gem inside the Clifton Heart. The Sunday roast was amazing!!!!! Also the Quinoa salad and desserts. Also they were very supportive as we didn't had a booking due internet issues but they gave us a chance to get a table at the end.100% recommended.

Great stay at Port of Call for one week in November. Staff very helpful… Jodi for being helpful and smiling every day - great asset to the resort!!! Also Bernard for helping out booking the full day excursion (recommend this) and the others too. Resort is situated next to a good beach area… was better than others at the time as there were cranes at Windsong. There a golf cart for trips to beach for those who don’t want to walk. Close to good restaurants too and jetty is close by for excursions. Pool is clean and perfect too. Bar is decent. Breakfast is basic but essentials are there. Tips: Check out the Fish Fry, book on Caicos Charters full day, hire a car from the car hire in front of resort, visit Sapodilla beach and have fun!

Our group of 10 visited The Colosseum for the Bottomless Jazz Brunch on Saturday at midday. The experience included 90 minutes of tapas dishes such as chorizo, patatas bravas, and padron peppers, all delicious. The brunch also included unlimited Aperol Spritz, Prosecco, Sangria, and Pimm’s. We were seated outside near the brilliant jazz band, who played a range of standards, which created a really lovely atmosphere. The portion sizes were generous, and the staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring our drinks were topped up regularly. The price is reasonable for the amount and quality of food and drink offered. One point for consideration by management would be improving the acoustics inside the restaurant, as it can get quite harsh on the ears during peak times. Overall, we had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning.
