Visited The Broad Quay, Bristol restaurant today. The staff are pleasant and clearly are working hard but there are simply not enough of them! We waited for 45 minutes for our food - given that this consisted of a pie that just needed heating up, some mash, and a sprinkling of veg (mostly peas) there can be no excuse for this. After waiting 40 minutes we did ask what was happening to our order. "Why are you in a hurry?" was the response we got. The pies are OK but not worth a wait that long. There are plenty of other option in central Bristol. We will not return.

The pies have it! Other than a weird fennel seed dressing on the tenderstem veg dish the food was good and although slow (she was largely on her own) the young woman was very pleasant. My only but significant concern was the loos - one out of action and the remaining one is disgusting - sort it out Pieminister!

A slightly tricky one. The pies were lovely, proper crispy pastry, well balanced fillings and decent sides. The problem was it took over an hour to arrive. I did have a chat with one of the staff (possibly the manager) and he said that a key piece of equipment was not working properly, which can happen to anyone. I just wish they had let us know that there was a problem. Sometimes honesty is the best way.

We arrived 20 minutes before the reservation time, with half the tables occupied and it took them 20 minutes to bring two beers, but then another 30 minutes to serve the food ordered as soon as we sat down, apparently they were not receiving orders due to an error on the part of the system. The reality is that of the 4 visible waiters, two were missing, another was more concerned about her makeup than serving the tables and another who entered and left the kitchen without any criteria. It took us 15 minutes to eat and run, tired of waiting. The rest of the tables were stunned with the lack of professionalism of the service. It was our first time, there will be no second because after being aware of the disaster of attention, they only knew how to say "I'm sorry", but at some tables they had special attention. The bathroom with large puddles of water does not seem hygienic or clean at all. At the Caribbean food place next door the waiters are really attentive and professional, not at this one. A shame because the food is relegated to the background (although we don't understand how the microwave can be used so intensively without any embarrassment, it's quite disappointing)

Food was nice enough, if not a little pricey. I ordered the mothership with additional 'mustard sausage stick' for £16. I was left pretty hungry. Pie did not have a huge amount of filling. The food was tasty and service was v good - quick and attentive without being overbearing. Just could do with bigger portions as pie and mash is supposed to leave you feeling full and satiated. In order to fill that gap I had a mud pie sundae which only had a small piece of brownie at the bottom of the sundae glass. Was mostly ice cream and whipped cream.

Really disappointing trip to the restaurant today. Had booked weeks in advance to coincide with a show at the hippodrome but was greeted by quite an unwelcoming waitress. She took our order and was told there would be a 30 min wait on food which would have been ok as we had planned to have a good 1hr and 30mins there but then we were waiting for 40+ mins with not even drinks being served. After querying with another member of staff, we were told our order was never submitted, so we weren't going to get our food either. Couldn't delay food any longer so had to leave disappointingly. Such a shame as we were really looking forward to it. We feel the whole situation could have been dealt with in a much more professional manner. Disappointing to say the least. EDIT: Still haven't heard from the branch despite reaching out following the response to the review to get in touch to discuss further. More disappointing service.

Short staffed so very long wait (we were warned about this on arrival). Seem to have paid a lot of money for pie to be heated up rather than made on the premises. I could have bought the same pie from a supermarket. They had also run out on ingredients...no cheese left (it was 8pm so not late)! The IPA was nice. Would not visit again, a very disappointing experience for my favourite pie.

Really difficult to write a review because the food is genuinely excellent and very reasonably priced but the service is non-existent. No-one comes (without request) to take your order, no-one comes to check, no-one clears plates or follows up on desserts or drinks. The most galling thing though is the highly ironic MANDATORY service charge. When I queried about it because the service is so non-existent, I was told there was nothing he could do and that his "manager was terrible, so feel free to write a poor review" just seriously unprofessional. As though not being aware of customers is purely a manager's fault, you have eyes too lad.

Probably some of the best food I've ever eaten, let alone the best pie! It's often hard to find a vegan pie when eating out, so the range was great - I went for the This Isn't Chicken and Bacon, with cheesy (vegan) chips and gravy... absolutely delicious! I'm still thinking about it days later! Also had a very gorgeous cocktail, and the staff were lovely and attentive. My partner, who is not a huge pie fan, had the vegan steak one and loved it! Can’t go wrong with Pieminister - they make the best pies. Tbh i probably wouldn’t go back to eat them out though , this restaurant isn’t set in the nicest of locations but is convenient. Service was really slow - over 40 mins from ordering to receiving - it’s only Pie (albeit great pies) and mash so not sure why it took so long. Toilets could do with a clean / refresh Pies were tasty but portions of sides were a bit tight , Pie and two sides was better value than the mothership as it came with about 3x the amount of peas on the mothership (mothership comes with a measly sprinkling of crispy onions and cheddar cheese)

### Pieminster in Bristol - A Pie Lover's Perspective Pieminster in Bristol offers a range of tasty pies, including some intriguing varieties that are sure to catch your eye. The Treaty pies, in particular, stood out with their hearty fillings and flaky crusts. However, while the sides were decent, they didn't quite justify their price tag. The gravy was disappointingly watery, which detracted from the overall experience. Despite these minor shortcomings, Pieminster's prime location adds to its appeal. Sometimes, you just need a good pie, and this spot delivers on that front. If you're in the area and craving a comforting pie, Pieminster is worth a visit.

I sent the manager an email cause I couldn't find this place on tripadvisor but now I've found it (whoops 😆) but here's my email! To the manager of Pieminister in Bristol Broadquay, I'm emailing you personally as I was unable to find your location on tripadvisor and I don't want to create a whole new email account to leave a review on google maps 😞. That being said I strongly believe in letting management know when they're doing a good job so I just wanted to let you know that me and my sister had an absolutely lovely experience when we were there the other day! The prices were higher than expected but that's the city centre for you!😆 Both me and my sister enjoyed the food and of course the alcohol!!🍾🍾 And our experience was made even better the guy who served us, he was patient as we struggled to make up out minds on what pies to order, (my sister thinks he's cute 🤢) but in all seriousness, he was a genuinely nice guy and added just that little bit extra to our experience! 10/10 would come back again and will be telling all my friends and family in Bakewell to visit if they're ever in Bristol!!🤩🤩🤩 Thank you and Bristol for giving me and my sister a wonderful experience! 😘

I'm just going to start that the person called James did a sterling job and managed to rescue a really bad start. May I suggest the supervisor look for another career because service industry is not their strength. Fair play you might be having a bad day but to make me and my client with learning disabilities feel unwelcome simply because my client wanted to eat outside. The response was abrupt and almost accusatory, you can but you have to come inside and order and pay immediately. Baring in mind my client has restrictive mobility too this wasn't exactly a response I we were expecting. James however talked to us like humans and although I did have to go inside and leave my client at the outside table alone he was friendly and bought our food out which again was reasonably good and presented well. Sadly for James my client decided he didn't want to leave his usual tip because he felt unwelcome to begin with even though he had done his best to make amends. I agreed. The location of this place was perfect for my client as he loves sitting outside watching buses. Yet we won't go back to Pieminster again. I hope they realise how important good service is and train staff to represent their company in a positive way. I was a head chef for 15 years and if any of the great team I worked with conducted themselves in the manner we were treated today they certainly wouldn't be part of our team very long if at all.

I’m not a massive pie person, in fact I really do not enjoy them, but I’d heard glowing reviews of their vegan pies and the This Isn’t Chicken & Bacon one sounded tempting. First of all, the service was impeccable. The man who served us (he had lived in Bristol for 5 years, not sure of his name) was lovely and took the time to speak to us and actually engage in normal conversation. There was also a woman who came across when they were sold out of the parsnip fritters that came with my food, helping me find something else to go with my pie as I didn’t like the other option of peppers (I’m fussy!). We were in and out quickly, which was fantastic as we had a coach to catch, and couldn’t recommend this enough (if you like pies). On the pie itself: it was very filling in every sense of the word, my only notes are that I think the gravy and mash massively let it down – the mash was too dry, like it was missing vegan butter, and the gravy needed to be thicker to give that more homely feel. Overall, don’t knock it until you try it and, if you love pies, you’ll love this.

The good points: the pie was delicious and then venue had a nice feel to it, good vibes and a variety of diners of all ages. The bad points: the bottomless brunch includes bottomless gravey, no one asked us during our entore meal if everything was ok or if we wanted more gravy, getting a server was difficult. We had zero drinks whilst eating. The cocktails came out in the tiniest glasses i have ever seen, literally 3 sips and theyre gone. It then took approx 30-40mins to get another drink. Another bottomless table came in half way through our time and started off complaining after 10mins as they had no drinks so the waitress got confused and gave my table drinks to the other table. The other table in 40mins had 2 bottles of prosecco and 8 cocktails. After pointing out those were my 2nd lot of cocktails that was going to that table i was told 'more are coming'. 10mins later i complained. By brunch time came to an end and after i complained we were offered a bottle of prosecco to extend the time and another round of cocktails- which we did recieve that time. I would never consider doing a bottomless brunch here again. I would potentially go to another pieminisyer for the pie, it really was delicious.

Met a group of friends for my 30th birthday dinner at 8pm on Saturday 10th as heard good things about the food. Wish I had read the Google reviews before going as something is going wrong at this restaurant. While I waited to be seated two of my friends went to use the toilet, a member of staff on the bar with blonde curly hair and make up asked my friends very rudely what they were doing and they had to explain we had a booking and were going to eat but they wanted to use the toilet. It's 2024 we shouldn't be challenging people who want to use a toilet as not all conditions are visible, I used to work in a restaurant and would never prevent someone using a toilet. Toilets had no soap and are dirty/tired. We then sat down and waited ages to get served especially as there were only four other tables in the restaurant, two of which had already finished and the two staff were just stood at the bar. My guests asked if they should go to the bar to order as it was looking like it wasn't table service. The brunette waitress with braces took our order but was awkward, didn't know one of the drinks we had asked for wasn't served. It took over half an hour for pre prepared pies and sides. Pies were tasty sides were average. We thought the mash was missing to start with as was a small smear under the pies. I saw the food sat on pass but the waitress with braces kept talking to the lady with blonde curly hair and eating chips. Waitress with braces then started laughing as she nearly dropped a plate and then stood for a few minutes laughing with other waitress. Meant food was not very hot as had just been sat on side and was delivered very slowly one by one (no urgency). Had to ask for the bill wasn't offered to see a dessert menu. Waitress with blonde curly hair didn't say bye or even smile when we left.

Excellent all round. Fantastic pies, lots of filling. Had the Sunday lunch special with Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, mini toasties, swede and gravy. Good service. Will definitely visit again.

Pie was good, wasn't game changing or anything. I visited here after a friend wanted a pie so we decided for a Saturday night, when we arrived it was empty but within 20 mins it was full. The food was quick to come out, gravy was banging and the mash needed more butter and salt. Had a shortbread sundae for after however they run out of shortbread so i went without it which sucked. Well priced though.

Planned a trip to Bristol and The Pieminister was on my list. Showed up around 730 pm to a half full house and was told no service available... I asked if there was a waiting tim, as I had my mind set on some Pieminister.. but was told they were full up... Disappointing.

I rated the food 3 as we never got to try it! What we saw coming out around us looked delicious. From the moment we arrived the service was bad. We asked the lady serving us if we could have a window seat (mainly to keep our 2y.o old the way and distracted looking out window) "no" came the terse reply "those tables are reserved". 10 mins later someone arrived stating they hadn't booked and were seated at that table. Oh well, maybe a misunderstanding. Drinks were served quickly. However after that we sat there for over an hour waiting, watching tables come in after us, be served, eat their food and pay without any acknowledgement from the servers who must have noticed we'd been there for ages without food. When I asked the lady if we'd been forgotten she said "no we're just busy" no sorry, just rudeness. We had been forgotten as I saw them then hastily chuck the pies on. They promised itd be 3 mins. 10 mins later we asked for the bill for our drinks and left. Not so much as a sorry but a half hearted "your food is ready now" from the lady as we walked out the door. The young lad serving us was pleasant enough but the lady needs to seriously work on her customer service (of which she had none). Waste of over an hour and a pity as the food looked good.

Great lunch at Bristol's Pieminister in the City Centre. Hard to beat a good pie (plenty of gravy) and Pieminster do a good one.

Lovely! The pie I had was of a good size, the chips, although of a small cut & not the chunky type, were nicely done. Will be visiting again if we are in Bristol for shopping or boogie'ing!

Great place, I am gluten-free (intolerant, not just a pain). The service food and atmosphere were excellent. They have a ramp for wheelchair access, which is great as I am fully wheelchair dependent. So in short, if you are looking for something different, I highly recommend here.

Didn't get food. When we were there, the sound level was loud but cheerful. It's an ok place. Bristol just has so much else and better to offer, so better find those places.

Llevó a mi hija mayor a una clínica en Henleaze y tenía una hora para matar esperándola. Café 96 estaba a 50 metros, así que entró.

The Sunday roast was great however the staff made us feel very uncomfortable. We contacted the restaurant in advance to tell them we have to reduce the table size, and when we arrived the waiter gave us a lecture about how he doesn’t think he can accommodate us and we shouldn’t do it next time. After a few mins he realised he had misunderstood the situation and we had informed the restaurant beforehand, but did not offer an apology. The woman who then brought out the food didn’t speak to us and slammed the food down into the table.
