Excellent value lunches, including some unusual dishes. Seating inside and out. Dog-friendly. Parking nearby can be tricky, but numerous buses pass by on Gloucester Road.

came in about 1pm (08/09) was told roast where booking only… thankfully we had a booking! we where served by tegan who was lovely! walked us though the menu perfectly and suggested the beef… it was beautiful. My son had the chicken and raved about it! will definitely be back next sunday! ! definitely a new roast spot 💕

Did not have food. Peroni £6 was not good at all smelt awful - would not care if was not £6 Madri however was perfect. Just not sure what was going on with the peroni. Staff brilliant so nice ( 07/09)

Nice to sit in the garden in the Sun but the Service was slow because there was only one bar person. Food was surprisingly very nice. Chicken Schnitzel. Beer was exceptionally pricey burning of the times. Overall pretty good but the building needs a couple of licks of paint.

Gorgeous pub with lovely staff and good drinks. However, the food is hugely overpriced for what you get. You pay £12-15 for a burger which is small, average quality, and comes with nothing - no chips, salad, veg.. just a tiny lone burger. We ordered a side of 'slaw' and it was clearly from a bag of supermarket coleslaw mix - the cabbage was dried up and going brown - with a load of salad dressing dumped on top. There are no kids' food options. They offered to do a kids' chicken schnitzel with chips, which the kids enjoyed, but there was no possibility of peas or other healthy side to go with it. If they sorted out their menu and offered a good range of unpretentious, good value, quality food for all the family, it would be the perfect pub!

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this pub! From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their warmth and attentiveness truly made us feel at home. The selection of drinks is impressive, with something to suit every taste. The food, however, was the highlight – it was simply amazing! Every dish we tried was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. This pub has quickly become one of my favourite spots, and I can't wait to return. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great time!

Best quiz in Bristol Liam is a 10/10 quiz host! The fries are also good as is the drink selection! But the quiz is the real draw to the pub every Monday!

I have used every pub on the Gloucester Road for over 30 years, but it's always the Flyer for me. Great staff, good food, amazing selection of drinks all of which can be enjoyed either indoors or in the generous garden. I enjoyed my Buddha bowl today, thank you.

Food was really good and service was brilliant. Atmosphere was great until the Dj started playing as he was awful. But would definitely visit again just on a different night.

This is my favourite pub in Bristol. I couldn’t recommend this place anymore. For students, family’s and everything in the middle. The staff are ; funny, always a good laugh and extremely helpful. If you’re stopping by in Bristol or even a local this pub should be on the top of your list to visit.

Get the right balance between noisy and quiet to watch a football game. Staff is extremely friendly. The outdoor part gives you chance to experience the sunshine and enjoy the game at the same time.

Went there recently to meet an old mate before we went to see Rovers play. It was 6:30pm Tuesday evening... so quite quiet. Staff very helpful and Neck Oil fine! Plus Rovers won!

Recently revamped, clean, modern and welcoming. Great lunchtime deal from limited menu: meal and a soft drink for £10 excellent value. Large outside seating area some of which is covered.Friendly staff and a Dr No pinball game into the mix, I visit Bristol quite often and would definitely return.

I’ve been a regular at the Flyer for a while now. And I’ve seen a lot of stuff come and go. However, Josh is absolutely bar far my favourite I have encountered so far. Not just the once, but multiple times I’ve drank in what I call my favourite pub. I genuinely feel like I’m talking to a friend of mine every time I come in, which makes me very proud to call the flyer my local.

Josh is the best, give him a raise.

Great atmosphere, food and friendly staff. Only thing I’d recommend is not turning up the music so loud, especially midweek. On the upstairs sofas it really blasts making talking difficult.

Came in yesterday with some friends, had some very nice roasts. The guy who served us was really nice and made good recommendations, will definitely come back.

Visited for sunday lunch with my two friends, roast was one of the best i’ve had, beef was so tender! Service was great, felt very comfortable.

Down for the weekend from Manchester and we had the most lovely bar staff (Sam), he made our night! He asked us questions about ourselves and gave us beer recommendations to drink, this was much appreciated since we didn't know what was good to drink in Bristol.

We had a selection of quick bites whilst sat in the pub. They were all stand-out. The dripping tater tots are delicious, that sauce mmm!! However, those nachos are the best we had ever tasted!

Excellent customer service. We were a party of 16 with a discount voucher with everyone wanting to pay individually and the staff were very accommodating. The food was a solid 8/10 and we will defo go back. A few errors on the order but they were rectified swiftly and with a smile

Today (sun 27th aug 23) me and my wife visited the Bristol flyer we were having a walk up Gloucester rd and fancied a roast, I was dragged through the door by the wonderful smell of roast dinner, I was a little troubled to see that no one was actually eating, maybe a sign of things to come, but nevertheless we sat down and ordered our food. The price was a little steep £16 for a dinner, but that is standard in Bristol so I didn’t really bat an eye lid but for the price I was expecting a very good standard. The food arrived in a decent time, the staff were attentive and helpful throughout our stay, Unfortunately the food was fairly cold but it wasn’t terrible , the beef was really nice but the veg was bland and lacking in creativity, also the roasters were like something I remember from primary school. Overall I would say it was a ok-ish experience and definitely room for improvement.

Good comfort food, prices are quite good too and good atmosphere. I was served by Orlagh who was really cool and chatty. I would recommend this pub!

Just moved to the area from Clifton. Had roast beef Sunday lunch and it was the best I have had. Excellent meat and service

Nice pub with a good beer garden. Quite expensive but standard for the area. Food on the whole was really great. Chicken was well seasoned and tender. However the dessert let the place down. Clearly bought elsewhere and quickly warmed up before serving. Was 5* until I had the dessert!
