Food overpriced not as good as it was pre makeover sadly.

Lovely spot for lunch, food was served relatively quickly & was nice enough. Unfortunately, the time spent on what should’ve been a delightful catch up with a dear friend was instead consumed by the young server struggling to navigate the till, lacking knowledge of the menu & seemingly being too hungover to function, information she readily volunteered! Having lost precious time at the start due to the server’s struggles & complete lack of urgency meant lunch was then rushed in order to fetch my friend to a hospital appt, not ideal when they’ve just flown in from New Zealand. Very sweet girl on the till taking the food order but unfair to leave her on duty when she’s evidently unsure what day it is. Disappointing experience despite lovely food.

The Bristol Flyer is an absolute gem! The food was simply amazing—delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. Pork belly was awesome. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into the menu and preparation. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. They were attentive without being overbearing, which made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was just perfect—a great balance of cosy and lively. Whether you're stopping by for a meal or just a drink, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Rarely enter a pub with such a nice atmosphere, shame the terrible service lets the whole pub down. Strange to put two of the rudest bartenders together on the same shift - gives the whole pub a slightly dim feel. Imagine walking into a pub and not wanting to order at the bar!! January 23rd

One of my favourite pubs in Bristol - great beer, great food and the staff are fantastic - can’t help popping in for a swift Guinness whenever I pass by ! All looks fantastic after the makeover as well !

Server was lovely. Food and drinks were delicious. The Parmesan fries were out of this world.

Great food and cocktails - I loved the Camembert, and the very chill atmosphere with outdoor heating.

The interior of the pub is beautiful and they have a good selection of food and drink. Food that I’ve had of the menu has come out of the kitchen looking beautiful and has tasted delicious.

Went to the Flyer on Wednesday evening with a group of family and friends to celebrate my graduation. We had a lovely time in one of their big cozy tables in the middle of the pub, really nice atmosphere there and they’ve done a great job with the renovation. Staff were really friendly, the food came quick and it was just what we were after, and also there’s a quality selection of beers too. Great for big groups, and I will definitely be returning!

Desde el cambio de propietario, este es ahora uno de los mejores lugares para comer o beber y el personal hace eso. Cam & Elise nos cuidó de nuevo y nada es demasiado problema para estas almas eficientes, amables y amigables. La primera visita al pub estaba maníacamente ocupado y las masas comiendo, sin embargo, todo fue sin problemas, maravillosamente manejado. La comida es más que excelente, recién y delicioso cocinado. Lovely staff, delicious cocktails! Just had a Sunday roast though and was one of the worst I've ever had - and it wasn't cheap. It was cold and fairly flavourless. The potatos in particular were reheated and rubbery, yet still barely warm. Gravy had little flavour, truly a waste of money. It's a shame as the roasts used to be great here. :(

The refurb is great. The staff were absolutely brilliant. Really welcoming, attentive, happy to help. Food was excellent, especially the steak sandwich. Drinks kept really well and a great selection. Keep it up!

Siempre espera con ansia el examen de Liam un lunes por la noche. Regularmente venimos con amigos solo por eso, hemos probado otros cuestionarios locales, pero ninguno es tan bueno como este.

Pasé con colegas a tomar algo antes de cenar. El ambiente es excelente, los precios de las bebidas eran respetables y se sentía como un lugar agradable para una pinta. Volverá cuando pase en el futuro.

Espero con ansias el cuestionario con mis amigos cada semana, es súper divertido y el ambiente siempre es genial. Liam es un gran anfitrión, manteniendo a todos comprometidos y riendo durante todo el asunto, con grandes preguntas y premios. ¡No podemos esperar al concurso de Navidad!

Siempre pasa un buen rato aquí en el examen los lunes, definitivamente el mejor en el área, ya que Liam hace el examen tan grande con un montón de rondas divertidas y preguntas. Las bebidas y la comida también son deliciosas.

We've just had an excellent Sunday roast at the Flyer (which has just been refurbed). I had a very tasty and nicely textured nut roast; my wife had a crispy pork belly. Served with yorkshire pudding, carrot, parsnip, roast potatoes and cabbage, with piping hot gravy and horseradish and apple sauces. Plus a tasty cauliflower cheese on the side. Very good service, and interested landlord checking all was ok. Not expensive at current rates - thoroughly recommended!

The interior is lovely and comfortable. Lots of space and a large garden plus seating out front. The cocktails are delicious (I had a dark and stormy). Plus, they're dog friendly!

Excellent value lunches, including some unusual dishes. Seating inside and out. Dog-friendly. Parking nearby can be tricky, but numerous buses pass by on Gloucester Road.

came in about 1pm (08/09) was told roast where booking only… thankfully we had a booking! we where served by tegan who was lovely! walked us though the menu perfectly and suggested the beef… it was beautiful. My son had the chicken and raved about it! will definitely be back next sunday! ! definitely a new roast spot 💕

Did not have food. Peroni £6 was not good at all smelt awful - would not care if was not £6 Madri however was perfect. Just not sure what was going on with the peroni. Staff brilliant so nice ( 07/09)

Nice to sit in the garden in the Sun but the Service was slow because there was only one bar person. Food was surprisingly very nice. Chicken Schnitzel. Beer was exceptionally pricey burning of the times. Overall pretty good but the building needs a couple of licks of paint.

Gorgeous pub with lovely staff and good drinks. However, the food is hugely overpriced for what you get. You pay £12-15 for a burger which is small, average quality, and comes with nothing - no chips, salad, veg.. just a tiny lone burger. We ordered a side of 'slaw' and it was clearly from a bag of supermarket coleslaw mix - the cabbage was dried up and going brown - with a load of salad dressing dumped on top. There are no kids' food options. They offered to do a kids' chicken schnitzel with chips, which the kids enjoyed, but there was no possibility of peas or other healthy side to go with it. If they sorted out their menu and offered a good range of unpretentious, good value, quality food for all the family, it would be the perfect pub!

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this pub! From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their warmth and attentiveness truly made us feel at home. The selection of drinks is impressive, with something to suit every taste. The food, however, was the highlight – it was simply amazing! Every dish we tried was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. This pub has quickly become one of my favourite spots, and I can't wait to return. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great time!

Excellent pub, friendly staff and good food. Outside seating to enjoy sun if you are lucky. Lots of varied seating inside. Great selection of beers some of which are local and the food was quick too.

Best quiz in Bristol Liam is a 10/10 quiz host! The fries are also good as is the drink selection! But the quiz is the real draw to the pub every Monday!

The garden is perfect for a Friday afternoon when you want to forget the work.

I have used every pub on the Gloucester Road for over 30 years, but it's always the Flyer for me. Great staff, good food, amazing selection of drinks all of which can be enjoyed either indoors or in the generous garden. I enjoyed my Buddha bowl today, thank you.

Food was really good and service was brilliant. Atmosphere was great until the Dj started playing as he was awful. But would definitely visit again just on a different night.

This is my favourite pub in Bristol. I couldn’t recommend this place anymore. For students, family’s and everything in the middle. The staff are ; funny, always a good laugh and extremely helpful. If you’re stopping by in Bristol or even a local this pub should be on the top of your list to visit.

Get the right balance between noisy and quiet to watch a football game. Staff is extremely friendly. The outdoor part gives you chance to experience the sunshine and enjoy the game at the same time.

Went there recently to meet an old mate before we went to see Rovers play. It was 6:30pm Tuesday evening... so quite quiet. Staff very helpful and Neck Oil fine! Plus Rovers won!

Recently revamped, clean, modern and welcoming. Great lunchtime deal from limited menu: meal and a soft drink for £10 excellent value. Large outside seating area some of which is covered.Friendly staff and a Dr No pinball game into the mix, I visit Bristol quite often and would definitely return.

I’ve been a regular at the Flyer for a while now. And I’ve seen a lot of stuff come and go. However, Josh is absolutely bar far my favourite I have encountered so far. Not just the once, but multiple times I’ve drank in what I call my favourite pub. I genuinely feel like I’m talking to a friend of mine every time I come in, which makes me very proud to call the flyer my local.
