A lively pub showing live football games but unfortunately they don't serve Abbott ale very often and are not a Real Ale pub even though they claim to serve cask beer, had to settle for Guinness instead.

Bella and Susie were so welcoming to me and all of my friends. They showed us a wonderful time and enhanced our experience so much. I will definitely be coming back to the bishops tavern because of those two and the hospitality they showed us.

Staff on Thursday night was great, very friendly and handled our large group orders really well. Food was okay, expensive for what it is and there aren't many healthy options.. Atmosphere was lovely.

The smallest portion of chips I’ve ever seen about 6 pieces of scampi didn’t receive tartare sauce with the meal peas were dry. Food tasted old wouldn’t recommend at all terrible value for money.

I recently visited for the first time. The atmosphere is great to watch sports. I had a burger which I really enjoyed. The prices were reasonable and the service was great. I really like the look of the place and sets a comfortable vibe. Definitely on my radar to visit again.

My friend and I had Saturday lunch in this pub and we thoroughly enjoyed it. My friend has several food allergies, so we are sometimes limited to where we can go, but the pub was super catering to her needs. We had a lovely conversation with the bar manager, Emily, who gave us recommendations for things to do in Bristol while we were staying there. Would highly recommend the pub if you’re swinging by Bristol!

This place is alright but one of the last places I'd choose in the area. The darts board is often out of action cause of the lay out of the place. Not really that cheap considering it's a chain pub, which often don't provide the same feel as a real pub. And the food is honestly far more expensive than it should be able to charge. No atmosphere.

Always a good time at the Bishops. Most recently I spent the euros final there, and yet again they did not disappoint (unlike the football). Service is always good and the best place to watch sport on Gloucester Road. I highly recommend.

Lovely pub. We stopped by for lunch with our daughter whilst attending an event nearby. Food and service was 10/10. Will definitely be returning.

An out of town gem with a good selection of ales and friendly bar staff

On the plus side, I had a reasonable glass of house white here for £4 and, on a Tuesday evening, there was plenty of comfortable seating. But the pub doesn’t do charm - it’s dominated by large tvs and gambling machines. For some reason while I was there the already loud music was turned up even more.

I went here with a friend on a Sunday and the experience was exceptional. The staff were so friendly here, the sunday roast I had was a generous portion and delicious and one of the best things of all was the cost of everything! It was such great value for money, especially seeing as it's located in such a fabulous and popular area of Bristol. I was served by Sam and Chris and they were so sweet and friendly. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone, especially as everything is so expensive nowadays. It is a jewel in a crown 💓

Myself and my good lady of 30years plus had our first date days in the Bishops after 18 to 24 months of madness as my love had a memory lapse I cannot thank all the crew in the best pub on the road for there supreme service by the way your a lucky girl as my wee tiger likes you you not only but all your staff made sure my wife was enjoying herself and cool with the surroundings cheers 💙 ❤️

Came here for the rugby. Great service and the young lad behind the bar was so friendly and helpful, really good food and service. Would definitely recommend.

Really nice pub for food, drinks great staff and management. I believe children and pets allowed as long as you mind them. Many screens for various sports and a darts board also a game known as shufl which is interesting. Watched the women's world cup final and was a great atmosphere.

Such a lovely pub! Owen, Christian and Chloe made me feel so accommodated. They cared for my needs an really made my experience as amazing as it could be! A top pub!

Good atmosphere but disappointed in the food. I went there for Sunday lunch. It was dry, veggies were dry and unseasoned. The chicken was nicely crisp but no seasoning and was cooked as if it was made in the air fryer. The potatoes were alright, some were good and others stale and hard. The Yorkshire pudding was the most disappointing. It was dense and definitely not a traditional Yorkshire. The gravy helped a lot and made the meal nicer than what was but tasted like branded/ stock cube gravy. The stuffing didn’t really make an impression. Overall the food needed seasoning and I’d rate a 1/5 for the food but the ambiance is a good vibe.

I did not have food on this visit, maybe next time. Helpful staff & had a pleasant atmosphere inside. I like the traditional games on offer. If you are a sports fan, there is plenty of places to sit with friends to watch a match.

Owen and Christian are absolutely fabulous, cater to your every need and are so polite. Deffo recommend.

Fab place to go watch some cricket have a pint and play some shuffle board. Went in with family on Friday afternoon, Please was quiet, had a great time playing shuffleboard (new one on me ) Couple of Guinness (well kept) and the staff was friendly and good service. As a long standing patron of this bar I was amazed to be treated in the way I was tonight. I feel violated in my value set having being told when leaving the bar that I had made a Thai family uncomfortable with my engaging behaviour. Despite being welcomed by the family for discussion the bar person (Owen) upon leaving made me feel inferior explaining (for the first time) my discussion had been not been welcomed by the Thai family. Mortified

After an excellent day out we all met Gloscter Road. Visited the Bishop's Tavern where they have an excwllent array of choice on tap. Being a proper Wetscountry lad and Cider drinker it was great to see not one but three rypes of Lily's cider boxes cilling away in the fridge. I went for a couole of pints of the Lily's Sunset which was beautiful. We then proceeded to play shuffleboard which was loads of fun and kept us entertained for a couple of hours, drinking, playing variations of the game and having fun. There was a fairly busy period and staff were quick and effecient and the place was kept tidy, no lingering empties or sticky table tops.

Came here for my mates 40th, had never been but was recommended by family so thought we should go there. I was pleasantly surprised by the great service and not to forget the atmosphere which was nice.
