We were in Bristol due to a convention as we were staying at futures inn, we went to find a breakfast cafe near by in the morning and stumbled onto this place. Was a very friendly environment and the staff were very good, the poached eggs were cooked to perfection and runny, the latte was creamy and delicious and my mum had English tea and was also lovely did not disappoint would 100% visit again if I’m come to Bristol again.

A really friendly bar with excellent food and music - I highly recommend the fishfinger sandwich! A great place to chill with a book - will definitely return.

We stormed The Social with a horde of 40 hula-hoopers on a random Monday evening! A heartfelt thank you to the entire crew who were there and did their absolute best to feed our hungry mouths! The food was so good, and our evening was the perfect conclusion to this convention in Bristol! Watch out! We’ll be back, but we promise to call ahead next time 💜

We rocked up as a group of about 30 tired hula hoopers at the end of an event in Bristol and were cooked a tasty meal at The Social. The staff were incredibly acommodating considering there were a lot of us! Massive thanks to chef and front of house for making our last evening together so good. I had the dirty fries and they were delish!

An absolute gem . Food excellent. Had tea with our delicious all day breakfast. Quick, tasty and plenty of it. Staff are super friendly and the place is clean and quirky.

My newest haunt! I always have an amazing time at The Social. The staff are always so friendly, the food is amazing (please try the garlic butter and paprika chips) and the drinks are always delicious and consistent. The beer garden out the back is amazing in the summer and there's such a lovely cosy vibe inside if you fancy a good coffee. Definitely worth a visit! And try the smoked peach cocktail... :)

Always been really happy with the breakfasts here, and the courtyard garden is great for a pint in the sun (or any weather, they've got heaters!) Me and my friend were so impressed with the staff when we were pursued by some creepy men. The bar staff noticed and kept an eye on the situation, and then intervened at the right time and saw them off the premises. We both said how we've never had that level of support from a bar when this sort of thing happens, the atmosphere feels very safe and the staff are so friendly - thank you!

Nice airy bar with friendly bar staff. There is a little garden. Negative is they dont have any real ale and only guiness surge. There is a good menu for cocktails and wines which looked good though. Enjoyed our time there as has a good buzzy atmosphere.

What a gem of Bristol. AMAZING cocktails. Original interesting combinations and flavours. Comfortable Chesterfield sofas to relax. Nice outdoor space to soak up the sun. Perfect background tunes that aren't overbearing. Perfect place to come and catch up with friends. Would definitely visit again on my next trip to Bristol.

This is a vibrant bar/cafe, full of very cool young things, mostly on their laptops! It's quite cosy and dimly lit inside, but outside, at the back, there is the most heavenly courtyard seating area. It's a total sun trap and is decorated in striking blue and white. It felt almost Greek in theme! I'm not sure I'm quite the demographic they're after, but my 22-year-old daughter certainly is! Highly recommend, I only had a coffee, but it was excellent.

We had to wait 45 minutes after ordering breakfast. When I asked after 20 minutes, if they had forgotten us, they didn't apologise but came up with the silly excuse that all ingredients are fresh compared to other cafés. I've been living in the UK (mainly in London) for 15 years. Do they think, they are the only café with fresh ingredients? It's not rocket science to prepare a breakfast or do they actually go to a nearby farm to pick the ingredients? Maybe that's what took so long, who knows?

I cannot recommend enough the chicken burger from The Social! Easily one of the top 10 things I have eaten in my life! The vibe of the restaurant is chilled and relaxed, the perfect place to pop in for a pint, brunch, or to use as a work space. Friendly staff and great selection of food and drink. 10/10!!

Always go there on my break from work and the food and service is always on point and all the staff are really out going.

It's honestly the best chill vibes, some people in here be playin board games. The staff are all the most friendly people you can find. Food is stunning and drinks are great too! Can't fault it! Except maybe there was a little too much turmeric in the turmeric latte 🔥

Unfortunately the initial offering of an all day breakfast was awful. Bacon burnt and baked beans looked like yesterday's leftovers. I had to complain immediately as it was so bad and they refunded without question and gave me a burger and chios that was better. I would say they were friendly and service was good but they need to spend a bit of money on updating the furniture and not servie food that was pretty much inedible.

The best coffee and cake in town

Can’t lie, this is my first ever review but deffo not going back. Waited over an hour for some pretty tasteless mid food. Told it was going to be 30 minute wait. It weren’t. Bacon had no taste, food looked lovely just weren’t overly impressed. Dates in bacon were alright though. Go back home out now on Spotify.

Food took over an hour to come out and it wasn’t even busy. Staff were not exactly smiley - food was edible. Would not recommend to a dog. 🐶

I never leave reviews but this was a particularly disappointing experience. We waited over an hour for a couple of sandwiches. They were quite nice when they came but definetly not worth the wait. Won’t be back.

This is a great place for brunch, it’s cozy and the food is good. The burgers we ordered were delicious - though a bit small, I was still hungry after eating one which is very rare. Chips were nice and crunchy. We ordered Bloody Marys to go with our lunch and they were spot on - loved the extra celery in there. My friends ordered the mussels and they were a bit too heavy on the cream.. we all agreed to that, maybe it was just a one off.. maybe that’s their recipe- anyway, i don’t recommend the mussels.. Everything else we tried was good. As I said, great place and great service.. The only real fault I could find is that they don’t take cash, just card, which is a shame and the reason why I gave it 4 stars. Parking nearby is a pain..

The social is the best bar/pub/restaurant in Bristol! Been coming here for many years and it never fails to be an amazing venue for food & drinks with brilliant staff and very warm, welcoming vibes. Highly recommend The Social.

Delicious burgers and a nice atmosphere.

Lovely foods and very friendly staffs. Big space for work/study (but might be slightly too nosy for some people) or just hangout. Kids friendly too despite the baby changing room was very smelly and a bit dirty…

Really nice Ambiente, nice personnel and a good Cappuccino. Also inlike that you can just find some board games to play.

Worse place in Bristol. Food took over an hour and was not edible. No regard for our custom and all they offered was a shrug and throw away "sorry". Wouldn't recommend this at all

My partner and I had breakfast / brunch here today and it was delicious. The service was good and the staff were lovely and apologetic about us waiting a little while for food as they were busy. Highly recommend. Lovely cafe with fairy lights and good atmosphere. Definitely be back!

Great value for money brunch, good quality sausages and bacon, perfectly poached golden yolked eggs. Hollandaise sauce was average. There was a 45 minute wait for our meals but we were warned when we ordered. We sat outside in the back courtyard enjoying a lovey warm Sunday in October. Staff were really lovely.

The Social were incredibly accommodating for a large group of 14 and pulled multiple tables together. Food, drinks and staff were all fantastic - would definitely recommend.

I’ve been to the social a lot , i live around the corner but I’ve left on several occasions because of the warbling idiot in the kitchen , yesterday being a prime example , please tell him he cant whistle he warbles like a lost person at a festival that makes noises for his own satisfaction whilst driving customers away , please take note

Had a lovely team lunch here today. The dirty nacho fries were immense! All the food looked really good. Service was friendly and in good time too.

How on Earth they spent so long making such mediocre food is beyond me. We waited about 40mins, with almost nobody else eating in. The staff however were lovely, and we didn't complain about the wait. The very loud live band playing 3m away from us, without a crowd at 6.30 was a bit much. Fine, but wouldn't go back. Bar? Café? Pub? I think it needs to find a niche and stick to it.

We only found The Social last minute as we were looking for somewhere dog-friendly to eat on a Saturday night near our holiday let - in the end we couldn't have done better. This bar is very welcoming, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere despite being in a bustling Saturday-night location. Staff were very friendly, the range of drinks was great (good cocktails, local beers, lots of choice to suit everyone) and the food was really good - again with lots of variety and everything fresh and well-prepared. Really glad to have found it.

Staff where really lovely but unfortunately I got the salmon and eggs for breakfast yesterday and I've been sick ever since. I've tried to call the social a couple of times today to tell them just so they can be aware but no answer. Really disappointed, it proper ruined my Sunday. Didn't want to post on here but when you work all week and then treat yourself to some nice brekky out and end up having to cancel your plans on your day off because your throwing up loads, something needs to be said.

Excellent ! We are enjoy our brunch at the social! Burgers was delicious and select draught beers satisfy us ! We recommand it!

The menu changes, but I've never had a meal there that wasn't excellent. The fish finger sandwich for lunch is delicious! Ate there again tonight and had the Chicken Parma which was delicious. One bad part, I don't expect a modern bar to play music with lots of swearing in. Hearing the N word and F word in a rap based soundtrack while eating was not pleasant.

My favorite bar cafe hungover day all of the things…it is the social and it feels so social and nice! Food is good infinity beer even better:)

The food looked great but ours did not come and waited for 1hour plus. To be fair to them when we said we were unable to wait any longer they were very quick to offer a refund which was good of them.

Brought my girl here from NY. She loved the social breakfast. Was great to impress her with this place. Server, Will gave us impeccable service. Very impressed.

Front house staff is a little unapproachable and grumpy no matter how polite, understanding and patient you are. Can’t really tell you that it was simply just “one of those days”, as it wasn’t my first time at the Social. The place itself is great with a rich variety of options for food and drinks of all sorts. The wait is a little long - we waited for our chips for over 30 minutes and the place was basically empty. We get it, it was Sunday, a slow day, no fuss. Chips were pretty nice. Such vibrant place should have staff that at least look a little happier rather than upset that they have to take your order.

The chips are mediocre at best, but slightly improved if you dip them in a mixture of mayo and hot pepper sauce.

Great menu for vegetarians and vegans, 5 of us in total and had all of our needs met, with the food coming out at the same time whilst still hot:)

We went there for our church home group social. It was on Tuesday evening. The ambience was perfect. There was good choice things to suit our various tastes.

Ordered a fry up. Waited 20mins. Nothing. Asked staff, said "1-2 mins, don't worry". 10mins later, nothing. By then my lunchbreak was nearly over and I had to get a refund. It was not busy. They had one job....

really lovely food for a good price, there was a really nice vibe and the waitresses were super friendly! I wish the wifi had worked, as we weren’t able to get work done so had to go somewhere else :(

Just had brunch here. Nearly didn't bother as it didn't stand out on the street, but I am very glad I did. The coffee is good, the chicken bap I had with red coleslaw was outstanding. Very recommended!

Went for a night out with a large group of people from all around Bristol. Staff there were friendly. Plenty of seating mixed between sofas and large tables. Didn't get any food but my mates liked it. There was this amazing jazz group playing throughout the night and a really great atmosphere. Clean unisex toilets. Heaters in the outdoor smoking area.

Location 5 Food and drink 5 Staff 5 My only issue is the appeal these sort of places have to the snowflake/hipster/gentrification types. I asked for a coffee and was asked “do you want milk from a cow?”….. as opposed to some sort of organically ethically sourced gender neutral non binary lookalikey non udder produced powdered arse biscuit milk” 😂. Alas we are living in crazy times but funnily enough I enjoy sipping from the good old udders. Anyway I just find the chinstroking hipster types grating but then again that’s what has happened to The Croft and Montpelier and countless other areas - the common folk get gentrified out. But staff and food and all that stuff were fab. 👍👍

The social is a great versatile space. I come here to get work done during the day as they've got decent coffee (however, the wifi isn't always very strong!) There's live music some nights and the brunch is delicious! Shown here is the Veggie light breakfast.

I spent last weekend in Bristol and was looking for a brunch place with a few friends on Sunday, about 90 minutes prior to our coach departure. Our first impression of The Social was a nice one, as it is a cosy space with nice furniture and ambience. Placing our orders went fairly quickly. But then our experience became quite bad. We waited for more than an hour. During that time, no one gave us an update on our order. No one even bothered checking on tables. I know this because by the time we left the cafe, our table (located at the front window) still had the dirty plates and cups from the PREVIOUS visitors on it. No one ever bothered to clear them! We kept looking at the bar where some of the staff were busy wiping the counter multiple times, or mixing drinks. It needs to be said that, for a Sunday, it was not too busy. So, there really is no excuse why the staff would ignore visitors that way. We also asked them several times about our order, which did not help speed the process up, and our table remained full of dirty plates. We had entered the cafe at around 1:35pm, and by 2:40pm we had become very restless as our coach was leaving the station at 3:15pm. So, we asked them to please put our food in takeaway boxes. This took almost another ten minutes! Thanks to the oblivious staff of the Social, we had to eat our food in the waiting room of the coach station. I cannot recommend this place and it almost ruined our Sunday afternoon – luckily, the rest of our stay in Bristol had been a nice one. Won't be back to this cafe.

I was spiked here because rather than pour you water on a Friday night, they leave open jugs of water which aren’t even in view of staff. Have submitted a police report and I hope you’ll be having a visit from them soon.

Pretty rustic but not unpleasant, aimed more at students I felt. Comfortable and good selection of drinks.

Came here just to chill on my own on a Wednesday evening. Got the veggie gnocchi which was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while. Had a couple of pints too, both lovely. Main thing is that the vibe was perfect, didn’t feel judged being on my own, music good volume and good mix, food, as I said, brilliant, and all fairly cheap. Loved it, will return.

First time here as close to my Daughters' new uni flats. Best Mocha ice had in a long time and the breakfast was delicious. Good work folks, we will be along again.

As I entered the social I was stopped by a guy called Paul. One of the loveliest door men I have ever met. On top the fact that he’s Irish it made the whole transaction a treat 10/10 be there again

Cozy, huge full English, good coffee, and great music venue

Came here on the morning of a bank holiday and between two days of love saves and it was packed! Regardless of that, the staff were friendly, chill and smiling! Even though there was a wait on food (understandable) it was absolutely worth it. Top job muckers will come back dreckly!

Beautiful bar by day and ca bar at night. Perfect spot for a date or catching up with friends. Love that they serve locally roasted coffee in the traditional wogan cups. A staple for Stokes croft.

The Social is the spitting image of Coffee # 1 with its leather sofas and wooden tables and chairs except that it also serves meals. Meat and fish eaters and vegetarians are well catered for, as are those who like big breakfasts and the food is piping hot and served by friendly staff. In particular, their Buttermilk Chicken Burger and the Sweet Potato with Katsu Sauce are recommended. We arrived quite early, when it was fairly quiet, but by the time we left, all the tables were occupied and given the standard of the food and service I'm not surprised.
