The best restaurants in Oldfield Bath and North East Somerset South West

Very relaxing place for afternoon teas and coffee. There was a great selection and very helpful and welcoming male server (possible owner maybe?) either way, an overall loverly place to catch up with friends.

We’ve eaten at The Moorfields many time when visiting our daughter and family who live locally. We’d hoped that the transition to a St Austell Brewery owned property (we reside in Cornwall)would have given it a boost. However, we found the menu rather lacklustre and a retrograde step from its previous incarnation. Our beer battered hake and chips was cooked well but a small portion, sufficient for lunch but over priced. My pint of Tribute was flat and poorly kept. We didn’t complain as that would have spoiled our meeting with old friends but having chosen the venue felt obliged to pay the bill. We won’t hurry back until we hear that it has improved.

Mr Karthik (review given below). I am the waiter that served your table and I personally took your order. First of all there was 4 of you & you wanted to share 1 main dish & 1 keema rice between 4 of you, second of all I made sure the order was made to your liking. Half way through the meal I came and asked you how the food was and you replied ‘very good & very spicy’. So I am very confused by this review, next time you fancy going out I suggest you get yourselves a meal deal each which is more affordable for yourselves & I would not recommend you guys going to any restaurants/takeaway if you are going to write false reviews because you found our prices ‘dear’

The staff are so lovely and the food is so yummy and reasonably priced would recommend.

My husband and myself were visiting bath for the Christmas market and were delighted we were going to be in Bath on the same day as old friends we hadn't seen for a few years due to covid and geography. We chose the grumpy baker due to reviews and were not disappointed. We were there for a good few hours and with cases as we were flying home straight after the lunch. No one objected or said we were in the way. We had coffee, toasted Panini's, then tea and delicious cakes. We had not met the children before and basically had a wonderful time in what felt like our living room. The café was busy, pleasant ,welcoming and the staff were always smiling and helpful. I can see why so many families go there. Clean and with lovely food reasonably priced. If I lived in Bath I would be a regular visitor. Merry Xmas to the very happy staff at the Grumpy Baker.

First time order for breakfast delivery and the food was top notch. Fresh and tasty, will definitely be enjoying more of the menu soon!

La hamburguesa vegana con queso era tan buena. ¡Comí con gusto! Las empanadas también fueron devoradas rápidamente. Aunque no somos veganos, si tenemos más experiencias 5 * comiendo deliciosa comida vegana, ¡podríamos hacer el cambio! No ser recibido al entrar / ly acercarse al mostrador - 1. Todo estaba como debía.

Absolutely wonderful food and welcoming manager Bruce. The tea was served in the most beautiful handmade ceramics too. No photos we just ate and enjoyed 🥰

Dare i say the best pizza in Bath, ya ive also had a few mediocre ones but tonight's hit the spot nicely! Good food, good people, great value. Oldfield park is lucky..

Beautiful burgers! Very tasty. Had as a takeaway, would highly recommend! Also the waffle fries were a delight.

i never leave reviews but ive also never been made so uncomfortable by staff in my life. I ordered an iced flat white as i’m lactose intolerant and don’t really want a pint glass of oat milk, which was meant to be £3.90. I later discovered i was charged £4.25 which is how much they charge for their enormous iced lattes which just isn’t what i ordered. when i asked about this everyone just seemed to confused?? i went downstairs only to be confronted by like 3 women, one in particular who spoke to me like i was an idiot saying they charged me more since i got more milk in my iced drink than a regular flat white. I work in a cafe, i have never once charged someone more for an iced flat white because they’re getting significantly less than any other iced drink. it was so embarrassing and i left feeling like a moron. the way it also just isn’t that deep lol like imagine beefing over 35p when you work at a chain restaurant, girl your big boss is gonna pocket that money i don’t understand why you had to be so rude about it? you’re still getting paid at the end of the day. anyways, won’t be back :p

Annoying review to say the least. Ordered through just eat- with the various delivery fees involved. No tracking or anything as the delivery is organised through the restaurant - this isn't a deliveroo issue. Once the driver arrived, he demanded another £2 on for delivery. It "wasn't up to him" and he's told to "just collect it". When we said we didn't have cash & that we'd paid delivery fees in app, that "wasn't his problem" and we needed to figure it out. Annoying to say the least as this has happened before (but not every time ordered). The food is good, takes a while (and has arrived cold before), but 2 different delivery drivers have now been aggressive at the door demanding money before handing over food. We've tried contacting the restaurant (where we get hung up on), and just eat support don't really care. Just be warned I guess!
