Brilliant food , by far the best salt and pepper king prawn in Bath. The rest of their food is brilliant , and I’ve tried a lot of the menu. Great service always delivered earlier than expected.

Food still hasn't arrived. Half an hour after my order was supposed to arrive and I'm still waiting. Had to ring up multiple times as the first few times they hung up straight away. Was eventually told that my food was with the driver so should arrive soon, but the person on the phone couldn't tell me how long until it will arrive, or when it was given to the driver! I asked if they could contact the driver to find out where my food was, only to be told they don't have their numbers. Apparently they have no way to track or organise their deliveries!!

Ordered salt and pepper wings that were delivered stone cold and hard. Appeared stale.

Could be the best chinese in Bath- except they pick and chose when they will deliver. Often phone after 9pm only to be told its too quiet so theyre not delivering tonight- although online it says they deliver until 1030 amd theyre on JustEat refusing later deliveries. Bad way to run a business. Can assure you it will just get quieter with that attiude.

Placed a order with the just eat app , ordered chicken curry with no veg or onions , clearly noted in capital letters to stand out , order got delivered and the chicken curry had mushrooms and onions (3 times now they haven’t looked at the notes) plus ordered chicken skewers (none arrived ) another £7.20 wasted .

Took over an hour for my food. We all were hungry and when we tried calling up they weren't very helpful, we requested to get a refund but was told no. This is not okay and the attitude of the rider was the worst.

The girl on the counter put the wrong order through, it happens sure, but when I picked up on it, I was met with flat out refusal to acknowledge their mistake. I asked for their mistake to be corrected or refunded but was met with belligerent refusal. The girl had repeated what I said when I ordered but chose a different item (that contained similar wording) on her till. Her fault but my problem. Not a good way to run a local business. The food is ok, but not enough to make up for the hassle, especially when there are many alternatives available.

the foods great... when you get it. several times they just dont deliver the food and i recall the last time i went in there i saw this lady yelling at one of the workers because they didnt deliver to her house... which was 12 miles away. so i was confused why she was angry if she lived that far away yknow she could literally order from a place in her area! but we only live down the road (5 minute drive) and theres no other takeaway in OUR area so theres no excuse why they either decline the order or make us wait for 2 hours only to decline it ourselves cause they were taking so long (actually happened). phone service is kinda terrible too cause we called in once, ordering went fine, but the guy didnt hang up the phone ?? we sat there listening to the same guy yelling at his daughter or sumn it was sketchy as TD;LR amazing food, dont deliver just order in and takeaway

Placed an order to be delivered & was given a time. Food arrived 50 minutes late. Tried calling to find where order was they didn’t answer then took phone off the hook. When ordered explained allergic to peppers so please leave out of the meal. To make matters worse after delivering late peppers WERE in the food despite my request. Have tried calling again phone still off the hook. This is the worst takeaway I have ever had the misfortune to use. Avoid it at all costs.

Always good food and not shy on the quality they provide. A good order and you can enjoy that 'food coma' once you sit back and relax.

This place was really good up until today. Will never be going back PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. THE ONLY PERSON WHO SPOKE ENGLISH WAS AROUND 17 MY ORDER WAS WRONG THEY REFUSED TO COME TO PEASEDOWN UNLESS I PAID £2.40 DELIVERY CHARGE. I THEN HAD TO DRIVE TO BATH. THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE MY MEAL AND REPAY ME BACK. THE LADY MANAGER WAS NASTY AND AGRESSIVE AND BARELY SPOKE 2WORDS OF ENGLISH. AVOID THIS PLACE

I have been getting takeaway from here for years. It's excellent, good value, and always fast delivery (particularly on a non-Friday week day).

I've tried various Chinese takeaways around Bath, and this place is my absolute favourite! Their yeung chow fried rice is perfect. 😋

Delivery was fast, the food was nice and fresh. It can be really difficult to find a decent chinese takeaway, but this was lovely! We had sweet and sour chicken balls, egg fried rice, salt and pepper chips, prawn toast and spring rolls. All were amazing!

Twice we have ordered and twice they have got our orders wrong instead of apologising and getting it sorted they tried to say we ordered wrong but we always have the same ( we're creatures of habit) I wouldn't touch this takeaway if it was the only place in the world to get food from, I would rather starve. Stay away if you have any sense there's plenty of nice Chinese takeaways locally shame we didn't go to them instead of using our nearest one..they really are the worst I've ever come across..don't say you weren't warned !!!!!!!!!

Visiting the area and asked for a recommendation. Ordered and delivered as promised. Food arrived and was delicious, we had a variety of dishes between 9 of us and everyone enjoyed their meal and 100% happy with the quality and portions. Would defo order again if in this neck of the woods again.

Absolutely Horrendous Service, Food Never Came i Rung The Shop To find Out Where My Order Was after 45 minutes of saying it left the shop For A Lady to say she cant get hold of the delivery driver and shes finnished her shift while laughing. Order was due 9:55-10:15pm I had a text to say it left the shop at 9:37pm Will never Order From Here Again i had to go down to the shop at 10:45pm and demand a refund for them to ignore me as they locked the door after knocking the window and ringing the shop constantly to watch them look and me and look at the phone to continue to ignore me. Finally at 10:55pm i got my refund

On Friday we ordered a takeaway at 1840 and were told it would come between 1935 and 1955. At 1955 it still hadn’t arrived and to rub salt in the wound the just eat app said enjoy your food! We rang the Peking Chef and it was clear they had forgotten our order. They told us it would be with us in 10 more minutes. After 10 minutes it still hadn’t arrived so we phoned again. The meal eventually came at 2030, almost 2 hours after we’d ordered it. Absolutely appalling! I have never waited so long for a takeaway to arrive. 😡

The food itself was cheap and cheerful shall we say, don't expect your meal to be a delicacy, it's fine. However, the delivery experience was very poor, they really just deliver at the time they want. We were staying at a nearby lodge, and knowing that it'd difficult for them to get to our actual lodge, we walked to the gate of the compound when the notification came through that the food was on it's way. The restaurant was only a 7min drive away, so surely we wouldn't be out in the cold for long? After the food was 20mins late, we called and was just told it's on it's way and would be about 15mins. We waited in the cold another 30mins or so and still nothing so went back to the lodge. The delivery was about 75mins late in the end, it had taken the driver 75mins to do a 7min journey. They'd had done a bunch of other deliveries first. By the time we were eating, our food was almost 2hrs old.

We ordered takeaway in person at the counter. It was quick service & good quality food. We haven't been in a while but we were pleased to see it's as good as it's always been. We had Yung Chow Fried Rice and Chicken with Salt, Pepper & Garlic with some Egg Fried Rice.

Had the most amazing takeaway this evening, it was so tasty, the quality was fabulous, the service - excellent. It was very quick to arrive and was piping hot too. Very very good, highly recommend !

New owner or new chefs because food quality it's not this same

The street is just full of students.. follow the leader . Your making a sandwich..Not creating life or saving the planet.The owner is and looks so stressed and quite abrupt .Go chill in Bonghi Boh ..beautiful and service with a smile in bonghi boh .. Great people. What a difference compared. Be happy (boss man and stop stressing) that people are coming in !!! I feel sorry for the pt staff . Not a great experience. Cheers boss man .

Was late, food was basic. Mostly angry at the fact THE DELIVERY DRIVER KICKED MY FRONT GATE IN TWICE LEAVING IT COMPLETELY BROKEN WITHOUT TELLING ME AND WAS VERY RUDE! Claiming hes been waiting ten mins...even though phone my number was given so I could collect. Very rude unhelpful staff.

Terrible business! The delivery driver kid was nice but the food was so poor and arrived 3 hours after placing order so over 2 hours late Pathetic excuse to follow saying that they had problems with the roads... in lockdown

Unfortunately I have had a poor experience with this takeaway. It began with then canceling my order after 30 minutes. Then after they accepted my order they refused to honour my discount via justeat. Given the delivery partner is only there to collect payment he put the manager/owner of the restaurant on the phone. This manager decided that the way to resolve the problem was to shout down the phone to would ensure we hand over more cash than was required. I have proof of this and as such will definitely be pursuing this matter further if these options are available. So if scamming customers and being shouted at is your cup of tea then go here.

Have ordered them a few times over the past few years. Reasonable cheap price tag with desent quality. Rice noodles are the best. Talked to the delivery driver once, who happned to be a bath uni student as well doing part time job. Really nice chap. He suggested to avoid Saturday evening 6-8pm as its the peak time of the week when they usually have 30 orders/hr so the delivery is usually delayed. Since then I always order outside that time period and never have any issue with late delivery or stonecold food.

I have been ordering food from Peking Chef for several years and I am very pleased with the service and the quality of the food. The price has not changed much for years. Best and fast take away in Bath city.

I am absolutely disgusted with this place. We ordered this evening, and because it was late I was keeping an eye out the window for it. The driver pulled up with our order on the front seat, and I clearly saw him take items out of the bag one by one, till he got to the bottom dish, which he took out and then started to eat items out of it. He then placed the container back in the bottom of the bag and went to deliver it to me. I refused the order and immediately called the restaurant, who insisted the driver would not do that. Though I explained I had clearly seen it. After a short time I received this text "In regards to your claimed that our driver eaten your delivery order. We wish to explain to yourself the whole scenario after consulting our driver about this incident. He explained that after reaching your place, he parked his car then put on the brake which caused the delivery bag to fall to the floor of the vehicle hence he bent down to collect and put it back in the bag. For your information, he works for us and we do provide him food for free whenever he’s doing his round and I don’t think he will conduct such indignity act as he has been with us for few years now. Hope our explanation will clear this misunderstanding. Thank you and stay safe" First they are calling me a liar, and if he has done it to me how many other people has he done it to. Also if they give him free meals then he should have had no reason to help himself to part of my order. I am absolutely furious!

Scammed my money and wont deliver to me the food

Overpriced and terrible service. Would not recommend and had to walk in the end to collect as the driver did not turn up.

Terrible - Avoid this place. Ordered 4 main dishes - Prawn Salt & Pepper, House special Kung Po, Roast Duck Chinese style and House Special Chow Mein - the Prawns had a farsical amount of Thai Chillies in, The Kung Po was Sweet and Sour Pork, The Roast Duck had about 3 bits of Duck, lots of liquid and a few Bean Sprouts - and The Chow Mein wasn't - it was a rice dish. How can any take away screw up every dish? When we complained they wouldn't believe us and refused to take any further action. Totally ruined my birthday meal. Don't get anything from here.

The best Chinese take away in town

Normally use better chinese takeaways around Bath but was the only place open on Bank Holiday. Food was average but we ate it without being impressed by any of it tbh. Worst problem came next day. Me and my gf were both ill. Without details we know it was the food we ate. Always avoided 99% of time in past due to history of poor hygiene and other related issues and now will avoid permanently. Ive lived in Bath all my life and no locals rate this place at all.

Waited for ages for delivery, phoned and was told it was on its way. After another 45 mins tried to call but no answer. After trying again and again I had to drive there to see what was going on! They hadn't even started it! Terrible service

Terrible service today was my husband's birthday we had two teenage grandchildren staying. Our normal Chinese closed today. We have used Peking Chef before wasn't brilliant but thought we would give them a second chance. Instead of delivering 3 portions of egg fried rice they delivered one portion of egg fried rice. They also delivered 12 chicken spring rolls when I had ordered a starter of spring rolls (2). When I called them they were excessively rude shouting in either Cantonese or Mandarin hung up so had to call again. They refused to accept their mistake with order. If I wanted the missing 2 rice portions it would be £6.50. No apologies nothing. Just rude no customer care. Shame seeing they were recently closed due to rats by environmental services. You go back to use them and they are rude and throw it back don't think we will go back. So rude

Ordered quite late was 22.10 last orders are at 22.30 Order Crispy shredded beef and a large portion of special fried rice Order came in at 11 Did not receive the right order tried calling and no answer the next day I called at opening hours food left untouched from the disappointment From which they denied any responsibility for the order and refused a refund

Foods good, but the staff are terrible, 3 orders. 2 wrong. And you know how it is when your excited about your treat of the month. Mistakes happen but 66% of the time wrong with no solution. No help. No apology. Is it worth it to ruin your dinner/excitement. No!!! Its not. Find somewhere else. Advise for them.... keep the chiefs, great. sack the girls on the phone. Rubbish. Cant even take a order. Must cost the company a small fortune

Food was disgusting and service was even worse. The "manager" showed up at our flat when we called to complain and shouted abuse at us! We just wanted our money back and for them to take away the swill they'd brought us.

Used this take away as our normal one was closed on a Monday. ordered @ 2110 and was informed 30-45 minutes for delivery, after 2 irate calls the food arrives at 1050pm . Food was luke warm and to say it was disgusting is an under statement of the fact and being very polite. The chicken in lemon sauce I'm sure was cooked in Flash lemon all purpose it was absolutely vile. Needless to say I shall not be using this take away again. Will ensure we don't have a chinese on a monday and stick to the Lido Chef.
