My husband and myself were visiting bath for the Christmas market and were delighted we were going to be in Bath on the same day as old friends we hadn't seen for a few years due to covid and geography. We chose the grumpy baker due to reviews and were not disappointed. We were there for a good few hours and with cases as we were flying home straight after the lunch. No one objected or said we were in the way. We had coffee, toasted Panini's, then tea and delicious cakes. We had not met the children before and basically had a wonderful time in what felt like our living room. The café was busy, pleasant ,welcoming and the staff were always smiling and helpful. I can see why so many families go there. Clean and with lovely food reasonably priced. If I lived in Bath I would be a regular visitor. Merry Xmas to the very happy staff at the Grumpy Baker.

This is a fantastic cafe. Staff are brilliant, kind and caring. We are treated just like a family community. The most recent bad review should be ignored. I was there at the tail end of the incident and the lady concerned was not upset but was rude. The staff were very upset and did not deserve the treatment. Your regulars love you all.

Cashier waitress very racist middle class abrupt very rude and the racist comment made are shocking. Black people stay away as we are not welcome. I stopped by as viewing a house to buy in this area and i wouldnt ever live here or ever come back. Cashier made it very clear black people are second classed and her comments were very alarming. I ordered a sandwich and this was served with mayo inside which i am allergic to. I asked the cashier if i could have a different sandwich without mayo the cashier started being very rude and said why would you order a sandwich when you are allergic to mayo didn't you read the label. I explained i asked at the till before i purchased was told there was no mayo. Cashier said next time read the label as its not my fault as we dont make the sandwiches and as you ordered the sandwich you will not be given a refund as its your own fault. I explained to the cashier that she is treating me very aggressive for no reason and i dont understand why i am being spoken to in a very aggressive rude, unprofessional manner. Cashier said she will call manager but i will not be having a refund. Well manager decided to give half my money back. Then the waitress asked me what happened and i explained then the cashier abruptly said there is no point explaining to her as it will not change my views. I asked the cashier what views are theses she said well I am here to protect the younger staff members. I asked you mean from black people. Then she went slient. I told cashier due to the colour of my skin you feel you can talk down to me and treat me like less of a person like i am worthless. Cashier started cried. Waitress told me cashier is very stressed out today. Black people we are not welcomed at this grumpy racist Barkery.

The Grumpy Baker is a great find in Oldfield Park. They've got one of the nicest set of staffers I've ever met. Their cakes are delicious. The place is just right for it's size. I adore it. The sandwiches are good but I find them just a tad pricey for what I think they are - others may disagree - and once I had a cup that wasn't 100% cleaned - but only once. That's just a freak accident and never again. Otherwise, I love them and they're still fantastic! Never change your staff! They're the best!!!

Came back with my flatmate today and will definitely be returning regularly. Coffee is delicious, perfect temperature, staff were so friendly and welcoming. Also they accept keep cups which is great!

Delicious breakfast in a cosy and stylish cafe, suited both me and my partner as he had a full English and I had poached eggs and avocado on sour dough. Great range of drinks including loose leaf tea, smoothes and milkshakes. Would recommend

I had the avocado and poached eggs on sourdough, and added some bacon. Was fantastic. Coffee was also great. They have only five or six things on the chalkboard menu, which means they specialise. Highly recommended.

Tucked away in a smallish but busy street a couple of miles away from the centre of Bath, the owner took over this cafe when the previous business closed at short notice. It's relatively small, with a somewhat limited menu of coffees/teas, cakes and brunchy type specials - but that description doesn't do it justice.

This is a lovely little café, providing a small brunch/ lunch menu until 2pm along with a variety of tasty cakes, including gluten free offerings. Apparently she's grumpy because she gets up early to bake; WELL worth it! :)

I visit Picnic Coffee every week for the delicious coffee and lemon drizzle cake. However, the staff just bring my order to the table and walk away without a word or a glance at me. Where are the staff other reviewers praise so highly?

Visited this cafe with my 2 children, we had a drink first the children done some colouring which they enjoyed, We then went into the soft play area cost £4 per child adult £1 , your in there for a hour, the children had a lovely time, my only complaint is they were not allowed to leave the soft play area for a drink as if they did they wouldn’t be allowed back in,
